I just started on Spark yesterday, but already you are my inspiration! I will be 59 this year and the weight definitely coming off slower then it used to, and I have only been dieting without exercise . Going to get my walking shoes on!
That is so fantastic Annie! I also do mini-goals because it makes you feel like you are accomplishing something instead of just waiting for a big payoff I know a lot of people wouldn't consider my 13 lb. loss since May a big deal but to me it is a huge deal! My clothes are baggy ; I'm not ashamed to be seen in a swimsuit; and I feel like I've dropped a big ole bag of bricks I was carrying around everywhere I went Annie, you have a good attitude and a lot of enthusiasm and I know
As for the exercise issue: I will probably get my head taken off for this from some people, but I'm going to say it anyway. There are a lot of folks on Spark that exercise like crazy and are at it every day for hours. That's great and I applaud them - if that's what they want to do. As for me, at this point in my life I'm not going to wear a bikini and I'm not out to have "the guys starting to look" as the lady on the e-diets commercial says I have spoken to my doctor about this subject and have read until my eyes hurt. What I've discovered is that if I overdo it or do things I hate doing "just because:, I don't stick with it. I found a few activities I like to do - yes, actually enjoy doing - and I do them 3-4X a week - sometimes 5-6X. For me it is water jogging; using aqua weights; lawn bowling; Bocce ball, and walking. I usually do these things anywhere from 30 min. to 1 hour and it must be working because my thighs are a shadow of their former selves and I have a waist again So, my humble advise is to find a few things you enjoy doing and do them and don't worry about what others are doing. Keep up the good work!

So far in 17 days I have lost 5.2 lbs! I feel so good and am more motivated than the day I started. My orignial goal was to lose 38 lbs - that's a big goal. So I have a new shorter term goal of 19.9.lbs. I will still be over 50 but I will have less than 25 lbs to go. I just received my Cookbook and have earmarked lost of page. My only struggle seems to be getting enough exercise - so I ordered the video.hoping this will help. Also have a pedometor in my pocket. Thanks for the support and good luck to all.
