Hi Kathy, Except for your husband with health issues, i could have written that post myself because it's exactly ME! I'm exhausted just thinking of new ways to try to lose 4 lbs, let alone the 40 I really need to lose. How many times can I really start over again?! I'm hoping the team will help give me some encouragement and motivation, but as you all know, it's the first step that's the hardest. It's going to be a slow start but I'll be checking in often for support.

Hi and welcome to the team. I too lack motivation to exercise but I have found that if I just push myself a bit to get in some exercise I feel better and lose weight easier. Sometimes we have to do what we don't like until we learn to like it.LOL
Hi, Kathy If you want to reach your goal, you don't have to spend money to do it. I too did the famous weight loss organization route on SEVERAL occasions and all I did was spend money and gain back the little I did lose. Spark is great - it's free - and it gives you all the tools you need. You, however, have to bring the right attitude and a real desire. I can say this from experience - this is not my first time on Spark. I came back in May with a pumped up determination and a new and improved attitude. No more blaming, genes; medications; stress; friends, kids, DH, the dog, the day of the week I am responsible for my decisions. Here is my best advice, and it comes from the heart: 1) use your nutrition tracker faithfully, every single day, because it will keep you honest and accountable for your choices; 2) find a few exercises/activities you actually LIKE doing and then do them 3-4X a week - if you like doing them, you have a better chance of sticking with them; 3) stay active with your teams because they will keep you motivated and give you support and encouragement, and; 4) try to have fun with this because if you enjoy the journey you will reach your destination!

Hello. I'm Kathy from Indiana, Pa. I stumbled upon this site just an hour ago and remembered my friend telling me about it a year ago. I joined another well known weight loss plan and lost 25 lbs, but it's too costly to continue and I didn't have time to attend meetings anyway. I'm in pretty good health for 57 years old (well, I think so anyway - I haven't been to a doctor in about 20 years!) I hate hate hate exercise! However, I run up and down steps at work all day - never take the elevator, so I guess that counts as exercise! lol! I've cut serving sizes but the snacking is creeping up again. I guess I just need motivation. It doesn't help that I have a husband who has health problems, but is as thin as a rail! Maybe I can find some motivation here. :-)
