Welcome, yakkinjak! I am also trying to get back into exercizing, and my exercize of choice is walking, which is no easy feat in NY in the winter, either! Would love to be friends on the site and offer support! emoticon

Last summer I walked at least 30 minutes every morning before work and about 15 minutes at lunch. On the weekends the doggers and I would walk 70 minutes on Saturday and Sunday. It really helped me lose 15 pounds in a little over 2 months. After a fall vacation I "fell off the wagon" and quit walking. It is hard to get motivated to walk outdoor in Ohio Winters. I am trying hard "to get the wagon back in sight" and get back on. I am almost there. I figure I need to do exercise regularly for 3 weeks before I can say I am back on the wagon!!!!! It is a plus though that I am already seeing results from the exercise and healthier eating!

Hi everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself......i'm yakkinjak.....(I enjoy kayaking, it's a play on my name Jackie)......I've been trying to lose between 10-17 pounds for about 10 years now. Life at different times has gotten in the way of being consistent. I've tried various diets including weight watchers{that was good but expensive for online tools}.....so I hope we can encourage and chat with one another as time allows. I'm encouraged today because today is the first day in months I walked 30 minutes straight at 3.1 mph. Now if I can do that first thing in the morning before work I think it would make a huge difference. So that is a little bit of me.....take care and I look forward to meeting some of you. Yakkinjak

It's always something.....
