Thanks for your comments. I especially liked your quote - St. Francis of Assisi! I was in Italy this past spring and spent a day in Assisi, have a great photo of a Shrine to St. Francis. So, the quote really made an impact!
Just keep doing what you are doing and add something different every few days, track your foods diligently, watch your salt and you will succeed. It is so easy to pack on the pounds but so very hard to take them off.

Walking is a good start. Once you get used to the walking, add something--maybe walking DVDs (these workouts add arm movements and so on, and can be quite challenging), or join the gym, or something. Some people think a bit of walking will get you in shape, but for most of us it just isn't enough to make any difference. Good luck! Laurie
Thanks, I don't think that's the problem. I only just started walking (I guess it sounded like I have been walking for months. Maybe if I had, I wouldn't be complaining, unh?) Oh well, at least I have started. But, I'm not going to give up. I appreciate your comments.

The health program I am doing at the hospital where I work says to change up the exercises you are doing. Your body adjusts to what you are doing. Maybe join a fitness class if you can. Some are held in churches too. I take a beginner zumba/dance class that is easy but gets you moving. Just some ideas. Hope it helps.

I'm getting a little discouraged. I am posting everything I eat and staying within the suggested calorie range. Plus I have added walking. I'm walking between 1 and 2 miles 3-4 days a week. Any suggestions out there? I'm still pretty new at this program. Thanks!
