Wednesday 31 October:

1105/1200 home exercise minutes
6/6 times up the Big Hill
29/30 days Atkins way of eating (allowing one cheat day)
30/30 days vitamins
17/24 days out of bed by 8:00 am
-1/2 pounds lost (weight 183; end of September goal 180)

I'm a nondrinker, but I had half a glass of sherry today. I figured I had blown my diet, but I looked it up, and it looks like the carb count in sherry is pretty low (especially when you drink only half a glass).
Coulda made my exercise goal this month if I'd pushed myself just a little bit harder.
As for getting up in the morning--hmph!
Thank you all for your wonderful support in October. And congratulations on all the good things you did for yourselves.

Hi everyone.
emoticon emoticon emoticon
I lost my cable connection due to the hurricane and just got it back this afternoon. It sure was quiet here with no tv or computer to use!
Today was the first time I could take a walk since the weekend. Felt good to do. I'm glad to see that you are each accomplishing your exercise routines. Happy Halloween

It was a Shoulders & Arms (P90X) morning...hitting those 'glamour muscles' for sure. I did one round of 12 exercises, plus, one round of the 3 bonus exercises. There are two moves in which I can increase dumbbells size when I do this again in a couple of weeks. My average reps per exercise is in the 12-16 range to build leaner muscles versus muscle size. This workout was then followed by 8 Minute Core Series for Abs. A great workout morning totaling 38 minutes of strength.

Mayan,

I have walked with Leslie Sansome on her Walk off the Pounds DVD's for years. I own the 1 mile walk-a good starter and rent the 3 mile walk from the Library. She makes it so effortless.

Enjoy them!

Thanks again for your support. I'm too exhausted/stressed to exercise tonight. I'm wondering if 1000 minutes would have been a more realistic goal for the month. That's okay, finding my level is part of what this is about.

Monday

I didn't walk yesterday and I didn't bother to weigh myself today. So far we just have a rainy day. The storm is supposed to hit land at Atlantic City, New Jersey at the end of the day. By then we'll have very strong winds and hurricane conditions for 24 hours.

Laurie,
I don't blame you for finding it requires a better boundary between friend's comments and intentions. It sounds perfectly healthy to me. But one thing I know as a society is that we all unconsciously shame one another as a way to cope, and that sounds like what the x and your current friend are doing. They're not conscious of it, but generationally, it is passed from parents to kids on down the line.

Today was the first of a 5-week rotation. First I performed P90X Chest & Back doing 12 exercises of mostly push-ups, pull-ups/chin-ups (improvised using bands), and a couple of moves using dumbbells. Out of the combined 84 push-ups that I performed, 44 combined total were done on my toes. I only did one round of the 12 exercises instead of two rounds per the dvd. I am cutting strength training from approximately 1hr to about 30 minutes per session.

After this, I did abs work using Ab Ripper X and it was VERY hard. I did what I could and forgot the rest.

Total workout time was approximately 46 mins today.

Laurie - I like your resolutions with regards to dealing with what I refer to as "small-minded" people that are negative when it comes to your health & fitness. WTG on your workouts done today, too!!

Yanks - WoooHoooo on your run time & placement in it!!!

Everyone that may be in harm's way because of Hurricane Sandy, please stay safe.

Sunday 28 October:

1085/1200 home exercise minutes
6/6 times up the Big Hill
26/30 days Atkins way of eating (allowing one cheat day)
28/30 days vitamins
17/24 days out of bed by 8:00 am

40 minutes aerobics, 20 minutes T-Tapp, 10 minutes stretch.
I broke up with a man a couple of months ago. One of his major crimes was commenting about my weight, criticizing my diet, and telling me how to exercise (okay that's 3 crimes). Now a female friend is doing similar things. I'm an attractive woman who is about 25 pounds overweight and working very hard to get rid of it; I'm also well informed about nutrition and I used to be a certified fitness instructor. But the way some people act you'd think I was some kind of gross monster and mentally defective to boot (and even if I were, they should show some respect). One of my resolutions for next month will be zero tolerance for this kind of thing. If someone makes a passing comment (like offering me clothing and asking if it will fit me) or expresses a curious or caring INTEREST in my diet, that's one thing, but criticism or constantly referring to it is another. I know there might be all kinds of innocent reasons for people doing this kind of thing, but I really don't need it in my life. That's why I'm so grateful for the positive support I get from this group.
Yanks, congratulations!
Dale, have fun with the little one, and I hope your power stays on.
Hope you all stay safe.

SUNDAY got away from me and I didn't get a walk in. The next two days are off limits due to SANDY. I'm going to be optimistic about our power staying on throughout the ordeal but there's no way to know what is in store, except WATER and lots of it, to be sure!

My granddaughter is staying with me for a few days, off school while her mother starts a new job. It'll keep me busy I guess. Not much reading time.

Later,
Dale

Sunday Oct 28th

Miles---198.2---Goal 200---I should be able to make this objective by the end of the day.

Crunches---6095---Goal 4000

No Snacks after 9pm----27/31 days.

Well this morning I took on an event with my good friend, I was fortunate enough to secure a podium run. I finished 4th in my age group timed out at an even 31.00 minutes for the 5k. It was exactly what I was shooting for. My friend took first place within her age group with a 36.42 time .

That's it for today, it looks as though we are going to get smacked with some rough weather so If I'm not posting after this evening it will be due to "Natures Hand" emoticon

Hi Team! Looks everyone is getting some physical activity and about to, making, or surpassing goals for this month. I lost two pounds this month.

This morning I performed X-Stretch (58mins) and was better at some of the yoga-style positions. I am done with my week of stretch & flexibility training and liked it so much. I had a bone density test done on yesterday and it revealed that I am 1/2 inch taller than I've been claiming to be most of my life...LOL!! Hmmm...wonder how that happened....exercising & stretching? LOL!

I've already designed my next 5-week rotation which starts on Monday (Oct 29 and ends on Dec 1st). It will encompass P90X exercises and Leslie Sansone walking DVDs. I am READY to kick start a new rotation!!

35 minutes of aerobics, 25 minutes of circuit training (30-Day Shred), 10 minutes of stretch. I didn’t think I would make my minutes this month (too many busy days and blah days), but now it looks like I will—just.
Yanks, thank you for the suggestion. I weigh myself at the health clinic; these days I only go there on Thursdays (for meditation class), so my next weigh-in will be on November 1. No Halloween treats for me! Booooo! The main thing is to lose the 3 lbs by November 22.
Way to go, Myan and Dale.

I think today was my last weigh-in for the month, so that means I gained one pound instead of losing two pounds. My real goal (for now) is to get down to 180 by my birthday on November 22. We'll see! I was reading about the high success rate of promising to pay a penalty if you don't reach your goal (see Stikk.com for more info). You can choose to pay the penalty money to a friend, a worthy cause, or an UNworthy cause. That last option is supposed to be especially successful. I don't know if I want to try something like that or not. I'll think about it some more....

Yanks, that’s great news. Here’s hoping for good weather for Sunday.
Dale, congratulations on the second walk and the two-meals-from-one.

Completed CLX Recharge (flexibility training) workout this morning and I really don' t like it. The transitioning of positions are just awkward for me and a reminder of why I usually skipped it during the use of the complete CLX fitness program.

Yanks - WOOHOO! Enjoy competing in the event this weekend!

Laurie - I'll keep that recommended cardio minutes of 150/week in mind when designing my next four week exercise rotation.

Myan - Welcome to the team...love love the support around here and hope you do as well.

Skipped a walk yesterday and did laundry instead.
Today I went with the dog walking group which is a stroll so I don't really think I can count it as exercise. It was like walking my dog around the block speed, and I don't count those.

We had lunch together afterward and I ate half and brought the other half home. It was enough for two servings. I am tempted to take another walk on my own next to make up for the stroll and the lunch.

Welcome back, Myan! This is a great thread, very goal oriented. Congratulations on quitting smoking—that is a really good thing you did for yourself.
NewAgain, I’m glad you’re enjoying the stretch week. I try to do at least 10 minutes a day of stretch, and I’m naturally pretty flexible anyway. If I were less flexible I think I’d stretch even more.
Yanks, wow! Lots of crunches. Looks like you’ll make your miles this month too.
Dale, good luck!
I did 70 minutes today (cardio, circuit training, and stretch). I looked up how much cardio we should do, and the consensus seemed to be AT LEAST 150 minutes of moderate cardio per week, preferably more minutes (or more intense cardio). That’s quite a challenge for us working folk. I think I’m going to gradually increase my cardio minutes and do a little bit less of the non-cardio.

So far, my week of stretching is going really nice. It feels as if my muscles are being elongated and the tightness is decreasing in certain areas. Loving this week!

This morning I combined two stretch workouts (8 Minute Core Series Stretch, 14 mins of Slim & Limber).

Yanks - YAY! You have exceeded the 4000 "Crunches" goal and gave great insight to Dale, too.

Dale - Please try not to feel discouraged for too long. Keep walking and you'll eventually find your groove.

Laurie - enjoy your day of rest from fitness and meditation. There is tomorrow and good luck to you as well.

Yanks,
Yes what you said makes sense. That's sort of the point. I hope to get back to what I was able to do and it's not looking like it can happen. I haven't given up hope, but I do feel discouraged. We'll see.

Tuesday Oct 23rd.

Crunches 5095---Goal 4000----remains the same.

No night snacks after 9pm, 22/31 days.

Miles---163.44---goal 200,

Dale--we all slowing down--just persevere as long as you make the effort things will work out. I'm a lot slower since my incident on May 10th, however it has given me an incentive to achieve at least get where I was . Does that make any sense?

Yesterday I walked Centennial with my mother so it took longer than usual by 10 minutes. Today I walked Wilde Lake adding a neighbor's dog (because the owner has to work a 12 hour shift) and that also took longer by 10 minutes. I feel like I'm slowing down quite a bit from last year. At first I thought it was because I was out of shape, but time has passed and my times are still slow. I'm guessing that I'm not willing to push as hard as I must have been before.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Hi Team!
P90X X-Stretch (58 mins) and ten push-ups done this morning...no cardio.

Laurie - I will keep the idea of doing those Dreya rolls in "2 parts" like you the next time I do that particular workout dvd.

Have a great day everybody!

Dale, good luck getting back on track after the birthday fun.
NewAgain, re Dreya rolls, I read that the roll-to-stand transition is all abs and needs to be done perfectly to avoid back strain. I'm not that perfect, so I've split it into 2 parts: (1) sit, roll, shoulder stand (and back again); and (2) squat and stand. Maybe someday I can combine the two.
Today I was overworked so I just did 10 minutes of stretch. I'm also having trouble finding time for meditation; some other activity will have to fall by the wayside. Oh, the logistics of growing old!

It's Monday! New week and a new experiment of doing no cardio and strength training. This week will focus on full body stretches and flexibility.

M - CLX Recharge (21 mins).....done!
T - P90X X-Stretch (58 mins)
W - Slim & Limber (14 mins)
Th - CLX Recharge (21 mins)
F - P90X X-Stretch (58 mins)

I can't promise not to throw in a few push-ups here and there...lol..but the goal is not to.

Laurie - I've tried the Dreya Rolls and I'm just not THAT flexibile right now...lol....and not trying to 'disturb' this back into pain again. There are plenty other moves that can be done ..heehee. WTG to you being able to do a couple of those...you ROCK lady!

Yanks, sending prayers that you get an excellent report at your cardio appointment.

Dale, Happy Belated Birthday!! I feel it's okay to 'cheat eat' on such a special ocassion..lol.

Walked Wilde Lake yesterday.

Laurie, do you know where Alert Bay is? I have a first cousin who lives up there. I also have a friend who lives on (I think) Cortez. I've never been to the Pacific NW but I hear it's gorgeous.

My birthday is tomorrow and I'm eating out all over the place. I mean all the time. I feel like a princess with privileges. A chunky princess.

Cardio (trampoline, hooping, and--as promised--step-ups) and yoga this evening. Our meditation teacher has us doing 40 minutes of meditation now, so between exercise and meditation that's about 2 hours of "me" time daily.
I broke my diet again today. Live and learn. The other day I ate so-so forbidden food because I was depressed. Today I ate delicious natural forbidden food because a friend invited me and the food offered was so good. Big difference! Something to keep in mind for my next planned cheat.
I really enjoy reading what other people are doing (or not doing). NewAgain, why refuse to do Dreya Rolls? I looked them up on YouTube. I do rolling like a ball in yoga/pilates and also hands-down shoulder stands, so Dreya rolls seemed like something I could try. I did do a couple of reps, and I can see how this would be great cardio! Maybe I can work them into my cardio routine.
I hope you all have a beautiful weekend.

TGIF! Decided to make my last cardio workout of this week P90X Cardio X ( 43 minutes...combination of yoga, strength, cardio). I refused to do that Dreya Roll move and some of the plyo moves...substituted some of my "own" moves instead that were low impact. A very good workout indeed.

Wishing each of you a great weekend! I get to visit with my children and grands this weekend...WOOHOO!

This morning I decided to do a 40 minute powerwalk (fast pace) outdoors followed by 10 pushups and multiple sets of abs work (laid down on our picnic bench). It felt so wonderful outdoors...sunny, breezy, and 66 degrees.

Thank you for the support on my #s.

Laurie, in spite of feeling blah you found the motivation to exercise. Just think about the huge percentage of people in our age group that do absolutely nothing. You ROCK!

New Again,
I feel your joy! You're in great shape.
Laurie,
Now you have me curious; what island are you living on? I'm in Columbia, Maryland.
Yanks,
are you in the NY or NE area? When I challenged you about the Orioles and Yankees playing together you didn't comment back.

The walk yesterday was a good one around Centennial Lake but I was distracted by a phone call and couldn't add up the minutes (which is something I always record). I'll have to go that way again today and just double what I clock. It's gorgeous out there so I have no excuse not to go.

About the fitbit: sparks has an article on it this morning! What a coincidence. Yes, I'm thinking of getting one, complements of Scott as a birthday gift. I'm afraid it will put my exercise to shame since I'm so sedentary, but the point is to step it up, right?

Enjoy the day!
Dale

I was still feeling bla again today, and I even strayed from my diet. I think I was still worn out from my “town day” on Monday, and also a bit down about finances and Catch-22 government paperwork. At least I pulled myself together long enough to do an hour of exercise (cardio, T-Tapp, and stretch). Tomorrow is another day.
Dale, I’m pretty laid back too. Between the aging process, working at home, and living on an island. At least those are my excuses—lots of “retired” people here are way busy.
NewAgain, congratulations! That is great news, and not all due to genetics. You’ve worked hard.
Yanks, I think it’s still good exercise. I find the elliptical difficult compared to, well, everything else. I can only do a couple of minutes of elliptical at a time. Now you have me thinking—if I find the elliptical difficult I should probably do more step-up exercises.

Welcome to MaryLou & Harvester!!

MaryLou - check out alternative exercises to do while recovering from foot surgery.
Yanks - glad to hear that ankle is getting better...you are close to that goal of 200 miles.
Dale - I've heard of FitBit....are you getting one?
Laurie - WTG on losing a pound!
Passionate - have a great day.

Heyyyyy Ya'll,
I was too too excited when my doctor told me on Tuesday morning that ALL of my blood panel lab results were EXCELLENT! Even my blood pressure was perfect that he said with everything in front of him there is no reason I need to continue with that medication!!! He said that I'm already taking the lowest dose so it's okay to drop down to 1/2 tablet per day or stop completely. I am going to gradually wean my self downwards and track my blood pressure weekly for a while. He also said that my cholesterol numbers were GREAT and one of them is so good that only genetics can have it at that reading....LOL!! He said it adds 10yrs to my life expectancy!! Can you believe that?! He said to keep exercising and eating decent...othewords, keep doing what I am doing. He doesn't need to see me until next October.

My mammogram and bone density tests are scheduled for next Thursday.

Alright, just had to share my health joy!

Before my doc appointment on Tuesday morning, I did WATP 30 Minute Walk (2 miles) and this morningI did Kenpo X (58 mins of kickboxing) this morning..whoa mama...lol

Welcome Harvester.
Yanks, glad to hear the ankle is coming along.
Laurie, no way could I do mountain climbing for more than a couple of hours myself. It's much harder than walking on paths, that's for sure.

I walked Wilde Lake yesterday with Oliver. He's smelling doggie lately so I have to check if I can afford to get him groomed so soon. A high maintenance pooch.

I have a backlog of chores to get done and my sitting on the computer for much of the morning over coffee is what a lazy woman's world looks like. Sometimes it really gets to me just how laid back I am, but I don't want the working world hustle to replace it either. That thing called balance is fairly elusive.

This morning I hope to eat with more deliberate awareness. I don't like the scale hanging right up against that 160 mark.

Dale

Hi Harvester54, and welcome! The middle of the month is a great place to start. Good luck with your goals.
Yanks, I hope you recover quickly. Do you have a plan B? Swimming, bicycling, or rowing might be okay for your ankle.
Dale, thanks for telling us about the FitBit. And the mountain walk. This summer someone wanted me to hike up the local mountains for several days, carrying camping equipment, etc. There is no way I could have done that. Maybe a day trip. . . . Something to think about for next summer.
Yesterday was town day. I did some exercise yesterday evening, but today I’m feeling pretty wiped out, so I took the day off from exercising. However, I did walk the Big Hill. Down at the beach I saw a seal sunning itself on a rock, very nice!
I lost 1 pound since last week.

Hey, I'm new here, but figure that the middle of the month is a good time to start a challenge.
I want to loose one pound a week. And take my dog, Sophia for a vigorous walk daily.

Good morning everyone,
glad to see we have new blood coming in here (Welcome!)

Yesterday was a day of rest between weather conditions and getting acclimated back home, but today ought to be fine for a decent walk.

That mountain climb was strenuous on the way up so it counts big time. I thought I couldn't make it because I get really out of breath after awhile, but I did. We all help one another with the climb so no one is left behind (unless they want to be, and we had one woman chicken out early into the climb.)

One of the folks there had a gadget she calls a FitBit. It's a tiny thing that measures mileage, steps, stairs, and other things for daily accountability. It can even give you information on your quality of sleep! We all wanted one when she showed us everything it can do. It's only the size of one of your fingers, no kidding.

Enjoy the day,
Dale

Monday 15 October:

580/1200 home exercise minutes
5/6 times up the Big Hill
15/30 days Atkins way of eating (allowing one cheat day)
15/30 days vitamins
13/24 days out of bed by 8:00 am
-2/2 pounds lost (end of September goal: 180)

Today I was in a big hurry, so I booted it up the Big Hill. Walking up the hill is much easier than it was. A reminder that all this work really does make a difference.
Welcome, MaryLou! We can all be a great support for each other. As you probably know, there are lots of exercises you can do without putting stress on your feet. Good luck with your goals.
Half a month down. Good luck everyone!

Hi all, still finding my way around SP and the wonderful things that are on here.

I had joined a couple of teams, but have not done much.. glad to see a thread that is active and even though I am a tad late jumping in for October I would love to join the challenge.

I am just getting back to regular workouts, I had bunion surgery on my left foot in July and boy it is a long recovery but I am just about back to normal.

I love walking and just within last two weeks have been walking more and more, I have missed it so much. I took a yoga class today at lunch and that felt terrific, I needed to stretch, my hamstings and hip flexors have tightened up so much.

I won't ramble anymore but my goal for October is to get back to 4 or 5 days of working out, and want to start strength training. I am going to have bunion surgery on my right foot at end of November, that will put me out of commission for another 3 months or so but I hope to bounce back quickly.

I am a Kentucky gal!

Working to be in better shape as my 50's draw to a close. When I turn 60 I want to be AWESOME!

JHundley - WTG on getting it in where you can.
Cheryl - you ARE working those glutes to the MAX!
Passionate - sounds like you had a great time at the retreat and still got some physical activity!

This is my "recovery week" with five days of cardio and three days of abs.

Walk Slim: Four Fast Miles is what I did this morning for 48 minutes. It is a low impact interval walking workout. There were 5 interval cycles where you start and end them with a fast walk forward and back with short 'jogging' in between. This workout definitely raised my heart rate and left me drenched and blinded with sweat...lol.

My Abs work was done on a stability ball.

Welcome back PT,

October 15th----Goal---No Snacks after 9pm---14/31 days.

Goal---200 miles---108.32 Now I'm right on track.

Goal---4000 crunches---4535********

Today while I was running I kept on feeling pain in the upper portion of my left ankle so I cut my run down to a jog for 65 minutes. Then I walked/jogged for another 75 minutes. Without going home I went directly to a running store and purchased a new pair of shoes. I promised myself these new shoes last month but I procrastinated and the results were a slight injury.

I'm back from my retreat weekend. Friday was a travel day so I got no exercise in but I have posted 90 minutes for the hike up the mountain on saturday and 30 minutes for the treadmill on sunday. There were also steps in the Villa to navigate. Food flowed.

While watching football I added 75 squats...I am glistening but this was a good 10 minutes on my lower half!!!
Off to a good start....

My day off from work, Woohoo! I went and worked out late this morning 30 min. on treadmill, and about 15 min strength training. I need to clean house before going back to work on Mon. I work the overnight shift starting at 7:30-5:30am Mon-Thur then I go workout directly after work or at least that is my goal. I work at a convenience store and spend about 90 min. per night mopping the floors on top of other duties. On Fri after I get off work I clean on the side at least one house, then go home and crash for about 8 hrs. Well not getting any house work done setting here on computer lol you all have a great week, Happy Sparkin!

I didn't feel like doing anything this evening, but I "put in my time" doing half an hour of cardio (fun) and half an hour of yoga (easy). I'll try to do circuit training tomorrow.
Yanks, yes, there is always tomorrow.

Newagain---If you have the mindset to rest for a week then do it. My strategy is to play it by ear, If I feel like i'm overtraining I change things up that would include completely shutting down in some cases. So whatever decision you make it will be the right one, remember its your body. Take for instance today, I decided not to go to the gym it's bothering me however there is always tomorrow.

Good Saturday Morning....

Laurie - You got in a great workout this morning.

Just for 'good measure' I'm going to do a Leslie Sansone's 2 mile walk.

I do appreciate the feedback on my question about taking 1 week off from exercising every now and then. I've decided to give it a try but will do stretching dvds daily. I will start my full week of rest after completing a recovery week which starts on Monday.

Half an hour of cardio (hooping and rowing), half an hour of yoga, and a walk up the Big Hill. Looks like I might catch up on my exercise minutes this month.
Yanks, you’ll figure it out. Good luck!
NewAgain, I’m glad you enjoyed the resitance tube workout. I never really gave tubes/bands much of a chance. I’ll keep that workout in mind—thanks for the tip. No, I have never done a planned rest week; sometimes I have an unplanned one when I’m very busy or feeling low. I understand that it can be a good thing though, especially for someone like you who does intense workouts. I used to do long, intense workouts every single day, and I burnt out on that after a few months. I’m sure you know there has been a lot written about taking a week off. Try it and see how it goes (but keep stretching).

Question: Have you ever planned a week in which you did absolutely no exercise? It is a week in which you totally "rest" your heart and muscles? I have consistently exercised no less than 5 days per week for the past two years. I do a 'recovery week' that revolves around cardio only.

I am thinking about doing a "rest" week in which only total body stretching for 5 days is performed...no cardio, abs, or strength training after completing my recovery week. Then, I will restart my usual hybrid workout pattern again.

Any thoughts about this is appreciated.

Pamela...Central Texas

Laurie: keep doing the workouts that bring you not only results but joy.

Yanks: glad you like your results thus far, too.

This mornings scheduled workout was P90X Chest & Back. Instead, I chose to do a workout that I'd not done in years. It was Leslie Sansone's Walk Slim Fast Firming DVD (30 mins) which is a total body strength training workout using a resistance band (I used resistance tube). I can tell you that using the resistance tube instead of my usual dumbbells for strength training made the impact on my muscles feel quite different. It was as if I could actually feel this workout hitting the perfect spots on the muscles being worked...wow! I liked the way it worked muscles in the upper, mid, and lower back, too.It gave me a great burn to those areas and I am going to start using this one more often in my hybrid rotations.

After this workout, I dropped to my toes and did 10 regular push-ups.

Friday October 12th.

The focus factor does matter, each time you record your goals and post your accomplishments it has a positive effect on you as you strive to "better" yourself.

Total Miles 75.64----Goal 200, this one is going to be tougher as the days dwindle down. It looks as though I need about 6.5 miles per day in order to hit.

Crunches 3835------goal 4000

No late snacks 11/31 days so far so good.

This morning I weighed in just about where I expected it to be. I'm not trying to loose I'm trying to maintain.

My first meditation class this evening (yay!), then came home and did 10 minutes hooping, 25 minutes circuit training (30-Day Shred, Level 1), and 10 minutes of stretch. I can see my "plan" morphing into something that suits me better, and that's fine. Some workouts are just too daunting or boring, and like someone said, the best exercises are the ones you actually DO.

New Again,
That workout sounds a little dangerous besides hard to follow. I'd toss it out.

Laurie,
Sorry to hear you turned your ankle. I hope it improves rapidly for you.

Yanks,
The Orioles are playing in your neighborhood tonight. I love it when these two teams play against one another because I'm a former New Yorker. But after 40 years down here (wow, it's been so long!) at this point I hope the Orioles win.

I walked Wilde Lake with Oliver this afternoon. My legs felt heavy toward the end of it which is a sensation I do not like.

Off for one of the nicotine anonymous meetings I go to every week. Come 11/11/12 I will be celebrating 13 years nic free. This weekend I'll be at a NYS retreat with 38 other members. I love my visit up into the Catskills at this time of year.
