Well, I THINK about doing it in the morning,but usually its afternoon. Yesterday I had to go into work an hour early, and was so surprised at 6:30am to see how many people were out and about walking, running, biking ... getting their exercise in. Impressive.
In the summer, I run in the mornings -- but do the evening jazzercise classes. When school starts back up, I run after teaching mon and wed, do evening jazz tues and thurs, and morning jazz sat and a morning run on sunday. So, yeah, I am all over the place! haha

I've tried exercising after work and exercising in the mornings. Much prefer mornings because I find at 5am there is no good excuse not to do it. I always feel really relaxed and centered after my walks, too, so it's a great way to start my day.

I do prefer to exercise first thing in the morning and in the evening around 4 to 6 p.m.

I really like to exercise early in the morning. 1. walk dogs or 2. ride bike or 3. walk on treadmill. I sleep in sometimes which is not helping me.

Most things I've read say morning is best, for various reasons. But of course it depends on what else is going on in your day, where you live, and so on. I'm not a morning person, and now that I'm older I'm afraid if I tried to exercise really early in the morning I'd hurt something. I prefer to schedule my exercise in the evening, because my work and errands are done and I can concentrate on exercise then. I have started doing 1 hike a week and 1 gym visit a week with other people though; both of these activities are scheduled for 9:30 am. I enjoy these, partly because they are a social outlet and also because the occasional change in routine invigorates me. Laurie

Well, I am not a morning person at all! I have been walking for 30 minutes after supper and then I do 20 minutes of strength training - I alternate upper body/abs and lower body each day. I have one day of rest each week.

Hi Everyone, Just a quick question to see if there is an optimum time to exercise. I get up at 5:45 and walk/jog 3.5 miles (about an hour) every day except Sunday. I take that day off to rest my body. I have also started doing sit-ups, leg lifts and stretching (I started slow and will add 10 units to each thing every other week). What is your routine?
