Sometimes I dread exercise time, which isn't right. Tonight an acquaintance invited me to come with her and some friends on scheduled walks and gym visits. I think this will help me a lot. So my August goals and resolutions will look a little different from the July ones.
Oops, forgot to weigh myself tonight.

Yesterday I did some play in the pool with a little kid. I used some energy but can't quantify it. The weather was ideal at 84 with low humidity. Would have been a great walk day had I squeezed in a walk at some point.

Jasmine is still with me so far today.

Jasmine was dropped off yesterday afternoon (2 days later than i had expected her). She'll be with me for 4 days total (3 nights). Right now she's surprising me and 'making breakfast'.

I went to a group movie in someone's house last night which knocked out a walk. I think we're supposed to get a break with the weather a tad this week. I never go swimming because mostly of the sun but I'll take Jas to a pool on one of the days she's here.

I had a nice visit with a friend I don't see often (she moves around a lot), so I missed my exercise session. At least we walked up the Big Hill. I've been thinking about my resolutions for August. I get bored quickly, so I think I'll try changing my exercise routine weekly. I have loads of exercise DVDs and other resources to choose from.
Passionate, at least you got out there and walked! Even if it didn't work out exactly as planned.

Jasmine was not brought to me for the weekend after all. Bit of a bummer. Her mother is something like my son in that she works hard and overbooks herself.

I walked last night in the humidity. A Russian father of 3 little girls decided to visit with me when our paths crossed so I lost the timing of my exercise. I'll have to use a previous timing.

Hi Dale! You're lucky, you seem to have a good scale. The one I weigh myself on, it's kind of hard to see the little lines. Anyway, I can see that it's "about" 190 and not 170 or 150.
Wow, a teeny bopper for three nights! What a fun age. We'll see who entertains who.

I had a full day without exercise yesterday but today I'm planning on doing the Leslie Sansone dvd WATP. It'll do a body good.

I'm getting my surrogate granddaughter later for three nights here. Don't know how I'll entertain the 10 year old exactly but it'll be a diversion.

Hi, I'm new. I've introduced myself in the Introduce Yourself thread. A monthly goal/resolution is something I can work with, so thanks for this thread! I'll be weighing myself on Tuesday evenings because that's when I'm where there's a scale. When I answer no, my excuse will usually be "I had too much work." I'm a freelancer, and my work is feast or famine and very unpredictable.

I'm disappointed that I messed up my schedule and missed my opportunity to swim this afternoon as planned. But I can still pull out my yoga/pilates DVD and do it in an air conditioned room!

Feels good, yes. Every half pound I can shave off is hard won. I walk with a neighbor friend sometimes and we are both so grateful to have the other for evening spur of the moments. Since I haven't been walking much due to the temperatures out there, last night was well deserved.

I also signed up for the 12/12/12 challenge and know this will help me keep my focus longer range.

I am so excited! I just posted my first challenge as a team leader! It is something we all can do! It's fun, doable, and we have 'plenty' of time to all be successful on it! I would love to ride 500 miles on my bike, but if the temps don't drop it may become 100 miles on my kayak.

Hi Fiona and All Sparkers out there, I'm writing from Pittsburgh, PA, where it is hot and sunny on this July 1st afternoon. I read a lot of your messages every day, so I wanted to take the time to add one of my own today.

QuadCMom, I hope you enjoy and benefit from CURVES as much as I have. I have been a member since 2006 and have accomplished nearly 900 workouts there. My attendance there has enabled me to get the strength/resistance exercise I need every week along with some cardio. Don't be afraid to try other CURVES, if you are not totally satisfied with the initial club you join. I get travel passes each month and go to different CURVES in my area.

Regarding July goals, I have 10-15 pounds to lose, even though I am an avid exerciser. I love to take brisk walks - at least 45 minutes - 1 hour daily; I love ZUMBA classes; I try to go swimming whenever possible, etc. My problem is severe osteo-arthritis in my knees and lower back, so I need to be as slim as possible - looking at two knee replacements in the near future. Therefore, I'm teaming up with my CURVES Complete coach and am going to embark on the healthy eating, exercise plan offered through this program. I don't know how much weight I will lose this month, but I hope it is at least 5 pounds. I would like to follow a program that I can easily maintain year after year, so I hope this will be it.

i will settle for the 5 I gained the last two months. motivated again. walked/jogged 2 miles yesterday and biked 3+ . Just got back from a 2 miles jog/walk.

I have a treadmill again, it was repaired so, I plan to walk more at least 3-4 days a week and,

Hi Fiona, I'm going to join in the goals and challenges this month. I have been trying to maintain my weight loss since 2009 but I have slipped up in the last year. I have not been getting my regular exercise and I have not been staying on food program. I am lucky that I am only up 10 pounds from my original goal.

Goal for July: Go visit Curves ( a workout gym) for the free week trial.
Week 1: Log all of my food and stay in calorie range.

I am going to set my goals one week at a time.

Visit my team "Vacation / Travel Support Team

It's set up for people who need support while away from home, whether it business or pleasure.
