I LOVE bread also -- it's one of my favorite foods. While this sounds simplistic, it works for me ........ if I don't buy bread and have it in my house, I can't eat it. I only go out to eat once a week so I do not have the temptations of having a sandwich or garlic bread etc.
IF the DH gets crazy for bread, then I'll buy a package of 100% whole grain or whole wheat bread thins.
Wow, that's a lot of great ideas. I used to eat a BLT for lunch a lot and now I make a salad with 1 strip of bacon and lots of lettuce and a whole tomato. I gives me about 4-5 veggies and it tastes pretty good too. Lynn
I struggle with carbs too. Tonight I had a grilled hamburger with lettuce and tomato. No bun....and it tasted pretty good. I was going to have 1 piece of bread but I skipped the bread altogether. It will take a lot of effort but I think I am going to try to limit my bread intake since I always go over on carbs. Good luck, Lynn
Bevy,sweety you need to get rid of the hidden sugar..that is causing your cravings for bread,pasta,ect...take a few days to make sure you are drinking enough water and every time you feel the urge to eat bread...drink a glass of water and go for a walk..within two weeks the cravings will be gone..hugs Jeanine
when I want to do something I shouldn't I try to change my location and remember the guilt I felt last time I did the wrong thing..2day they are having nachos on break I will leave the building and eat an orange..2day my grandson is coming..his 6 yr birthday I put the chocolet cake and ice cream on my nutirtion and am still in my calories..I am too low on protein, but that is often..we just keep trucking..welcome

I too am a carb addict. I find that 3/4 cup of old fashioned oatmeal for breakfast holds me til lunch (or after). At the end of the day I seem to always have too many carbs and not enough protein. I also like to eat the rice cakes...the cheddar cheese are pretty good and fills me up with very few calories. Let us know how you are doing, Lynn
I am also a carb addict only mine is on the dessert side. Nothing is TOO rich. I agree there are ways to trim the calories and still enjoy what we want. That way we don't feel deprived and go way off the wagon. Good Luck. This is a great team for encouragement and support
When we figure it out, we can bottle it, sell it and get rich. LOL I'm such a carboholic! Bread, potatoes, pasta..... all my major food groups. No wonder I struggle. And it's all a vehicle to get butter into my mouth! Shame on me.
Honestly, I've been trying to substitute fruit- apples are good for the crunch. And using a light Miracle Whip on sandwiches. Have you tried the sandwich thins- whole grain- or bagel thins? 2 skinny slices for 100 calories, instead of 2 slices at 120 calories each. I can do the math, but teaching the differences to my husband is HARD.
Hi everyone, I am not losing any weight and I know why, I eat bread for emotional reasons. I don't know how to stop!! I think that is what is causing the bloating. I exercise and my meals are healthy, but my snacking is bad. Any ideas on how to stop the bread cravings?
