Hello and welcome. I have an artificial knee and have a ball at airports. I didn't know about a special card but have to much fun with security to get one. Keep on trucking, you are back on the right track. Good luck.
Welcome Susieque, glad to have you on the team. Hope your foot is better and you are able to get out when the weather gets warmer and get some exercise in. It is always more fun outside than in.
One Day at a Time:
1) 10,000 steps daily
2) fruit & vegie at every meal
3) aerobic or strength train every day
4) 7 hours sleep daily
5) check in with SP daily
June 2014 goals:
1) lose 4 pounds
2) finish walk way
3) finish blocks for Forest Service quilt
4) scan old photos
It's never too late to be what you might have been.
Airports are fun for me also. I have screws in my hips from a car accident. I carry a little card from my orthopod and flash it when I go through security, it shows where they are and speeds the process along. You need to get one from your Doc. I hope your weight loss picks up now for you and you are feeling better soon.

Welcome Suzieque: I am sorry to hear of your misfortunes, but soooo glad you are improving and back to the gym. You are on the right track by taking it easy and I am sure you will be fine.
It sounds like you've had quite a time over the last year! We have a fun, supportive group called "I can't seem to lose even one pound..." that you might be interested in, also! Everyone here at SP will give a warm welcome and tips that help. I've been here almost a year and have gone up 4 pounds from my entry weight so I can relate! We just need to approach it as a journey, one step at a time...
All in good time...and with the help of my friends.

I seem to be having trouble with math. I can only do addition and not subtraction, of pounds that is. At of one year (October '08) on Spark People, I had only managed to maintain my beginning weight. I then had a bacterial infection in my foot and was unable to exercise for two months, which did not help, as I continued my same caloric intake, plus add in all the Christmas goodies. I had just begun to return to the gym in January, when I had a close encounter with a patch of ice and fractured my elbow in five places. I now sport a plate and seven screws and should have fun with airport security the rest of my life. As of today, I have put on ten pounds and feel quite discouraged. I have returned to the gym on a modified basis, the past two weeks, along with physical therapy three times weekly.. I just need some encouragement!! Thanks for listening.
