The lake was like glass, so I took my chances with the kayak even though there were looming rain clouds. Got in a good 40 minutes of paddling and saw a bald eagle and its nest, numerous kinds of ducks and little ducklings, terns and pelicans and some fish I can't identify, plus heard at least a dozen different song birds including orioles, catbirds and redheaded woodpeckers. It was such a treat, I feel funny calling it a "workout."
