Sleet and snow for my part of the world. We closed at lunch as did a lot of places. But I got in my walking!

emoticon Good morning everyone!

I am soooo done with this weather in the Northeast! Ughhh!!! We got the worst ice/sleet/snow storm yesterday, which threw a wrench in my gym plan. Oh well--things happen--I'll get there today!! I'm on day 3 of my 24-day challenge and I'm doing pretty good. I should've known better than to start this a week before my favorite time of the month (sarcasm) because I want to eat everything in sight. Thank God I got rid of all of the "crap food" in my house!

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday! Make it count!! emoticon

Naturestudent, I'm so glad you're doing the challenges. It really helped me up my game. For the walk 1 mile per day, it should have let you enter it. It may have just been a hiccup. Please let me know if you have any issues. Looking forward to hearing from you on the chat board!

Today it is nice outside it feels good being able to get out an about. /today we surprising our daughter Tiffany at her school for a birthday party in her class. We bring cupcakes and juices.
Nothing new to report. Still doing good and I finish my meds the the Er dr gave me. So far still haven't needed the inhalers much only once during the whole day which isn't bad. Before I was using them all day long. .I am doing good with my eating too. Staying within calories range. I just wanted to check in and said hi. Hope all is well with everyone else....

Hi...
I am trying to 'turn over a new leaf'. I have reset my goals and, for the 1st time ever, I have joined all of the March Challenges for this team. I've never joined any challenges in the past, I have just tracked food and exercise. I'm hoping the challenges (and support) will help me stay motivated.

I need help figuring out how to track everything. The water intake gets tracked in the "Special Goals" section of the Other Goals page so that one will be easy for me. I need help figuring out how to track the other goals. I walked 2.25 miles on the treadmill this morning and tried to enter it for Monday in the "Walk 1 Mile Per Day" but, I don't think I did it right.

I hit the + under Monday...and tried to enter 2.25 in the How Much box but, it wouldn't accept it so, I just entered 2. Is this the right way to track for the team goals or am I doing something wrong..? I haven't tried adding any info. to the other goals yet (Lose 2 Pounds per Week and Eat at least 5 fruits and veggies per day) because I don't know if I'm doing it right.

Can anyone tell me what to do please..?

Thanks Very Much!
I hope everyone is having a great morning so far! emoticon

Hope

Morning Well it 6:16 am here and I am up getting the kids in the shower for school. I am feeling great and bless. Our daughter Tiffany had a great time yesterday. She got a new bike and roller skates. Can't believe she 8 already. Kids are growing up so fast you know. Just wanted to check in. I am enjoying a nice cup of coffee while the kids get ready for school. They like taking their showers in the mornings cause it wakes them up lol. Let me get back to them and I be back later on during the day. Happy Monday to all.

Spent my Saturday outside with the kids and it was nice out. Today we suppose to be getting rain. I sure hope not cause Today is my daughter Tiffany birthday she turn 8 and we having a small family get together. I am doing much better and the meds are working. I haven't been needing the inhalers much either. the only thing I use was the Nebulizer twice this week since being home. Hubby says that good. I been drinking plenty of water and snacking on fruits and eating 3 meals ad 3 snacks everyday. I am on a 1800 calories plan. It must be working cause my clothes are fitting looser. Wishing everyone a happy Sunday.....

Hello All! I am new to this group. I have been in the 30 somethings but I am finally really doing this and I'm going to be 40 in 2 months anyway so here I am. I also have a question for the group. I have really been counting my calories and combined with working out, have lost 5 pds this last week! So excited! My question is, I like to roast my vegies in the oven with EVOO, do I count the oil in my calories? If so, does anyone know a better alternative?

I had 570 calories of tortilla chips today. It must be going around. I hula hooped most of those off after work, so it will not knock me off track.

Karen--your 15 years should count with weight against 6-months...I hope all is well.

UGH! I KNEW I should've had that small salad before I left work. Instead, I was too hungry before dinner when I got home and munched on 3 handfuls of tortilla chips. 400 calories. :-(.

Thank you for the great articles ZINGALOO! I am going to try a few of those tips to boost my calories through the day.

Happy HUMP DAY, team!

I apologize for being MIA from the team for the past couple of weeks. I don't want to go into a lot of detail, only because I'm trying not to re-hash it over and over, but I'm having some major issues at work right now (I've been employed with the same college for nearly 15 years). So bad, I may lose my job. Accusations that aren't true by my new boss (she's been with us for 6 months). SO...having to defend myself and now I can't trust her, and still not sure how it will be resolved.

I appreciate your patience as I work through this. I will probably be hit and miss for a while until there's a resolution. This has pretty much consumed me and I'm not feeling super positive. I hope you all understand and know that I am thinking of you and continuing to do my best.

A HUGE thank you to VICKYLYLES and ZINGALOO for taking over my duties for now. I will try to be back as soon as I possibly can.

Thanks, team!

Thanks SPARKZY2002 and ZINGALOO. This is why I love this group! You get so much needed support! Great article. I may have to keep some hard boiled eggs on hand for snacks. If I fall below my calorie range I end up eating something else even if I'm not really hungry. I usually do something easy like bananas or fat free bologna.

SPARKZY2002 - I know you asked Vicky the question and I welcome her response but I ran across this article and help answer on SP the other day and thought I would share. It's about getting the calories you need and ways to boost them if you are eating too few as that can hinder weight loss.

I hope they help.

VICKYLYLES, you are looking great! I was hesitating about doing the before and after picture...just don't like the way I look to the camera but I took one last night and like you said, once I lose the weight, hopefully it will be motivation not to go back to the before picture!

Just wondering as well, I have been tracking almost every day under my calorie limit. I am keeping within range on all the other things but usually under by 200 or 300 calories. I don't feel hungry but should I be trying harder to add those few extra calories somewhere in the day?

Thanks for the help and hope everyone has a fabulous day =)

So I changed my profile picture today. I had my daughter take some pictures of me this weekend. I wanted to compare my before and after pictures. I know I shouldn't get down on my before self, but I really am embarrassed and ashamed of how I used to look. I still have a long way to go on my journey. I'm hoping this will be my motivation to never go back to that weight.

Didn't get much done today as I am sleep deprived -- noticed when I going out to the dogs at 2am that my credit card was gone. So had the joy of waking up hubby to get it taken care of. Then I couldn't sleep because I was pissed. Now I have to get out to the dogs and hit the shower and get some sleep as I have training tomorrow for a job I've been doing for a decade now. What a pain.

You'll be happy to know that it got up to 42 degrees and it rained most of the morning. Happy Tuesday everyone!

Thank You! for all the get well wishes starting to feel a little better haven't posted the last couple of days. The weather seems to be cold and chaotic everywhere lately can't wait for sunnier days. My son will be sent off to the Philippines at the beginning of next month so will have very limited contact form him for the next couple of months, it is so hard his being so far away. It should be a unique experience for him an help to broaden his view of the world. I am going to try an get in some walking today, an work on eating more nutritiously. I am enjoying my husband being off today and spending some time with him. I hope all of you have a positive and rewarding day. emoticon

Dee, PCA is a Personal Care Attendant. Our adult son has a seizure disorder and needs 24-hour care. Since I can't work outside the home and take care of him at the same time, I am "employed" to take care of him. It's a very nice alternative to assisted living. Hubby is retired and works out of the home (we have rental properties). Right now I'm switching agencies so we only use one agency instead of three, and that means juggling schedules so I can do 26 hours of training. Our daughter does respite care (meaning she "relieves" hubby so he can do other things) for our son, and she'll have to go through the same training. At least it's paid, despite being a pain in the rear. And unnecessary since I'm only "working" for my son.

Heading out to my dogs and to bed. Had to drive to the big city to do the Costco shopping which is physically and mentally draining (bad road conditions). At least it's only once a month. That's more than I can handle.

Happy Monday, everyone!

Never give up, never quit.

Cindy--I was a twenty year college student, part-time. It is just a new world where lifelong learning is the only way to stay in the game.

How is everyone else doing?

I paddled, hula hooped, and stayed in calorie range. I am stuck at 157-8 on the scale, but down from 225, it is not a bad place to be plateaued for a while.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend! I kicked my own butt yesterday since I slacked earlier in the week. However, I did make my water goal yesterday. I really struggle with that. On track for that today and will make my goal again today. Now just gotta finish dinner and hit the gym later!

This is going to be a busy week, so I'll probably be doing a lot of crock potting. I'll be in training Tues thru Fri -- I'm a PCA for our son and we are changing agencies so there's a week of on-the-job training. Still don't understand why we have to go through training to take care of our own child, but them the rules. Somehow I also have to get in time for the kids and hubby and pets and housecleaning and exercising. Plus there's no rest on Saturday as my youngest has a birthday party to go to. I'm sure there's more going on as well.

Our weather is really getting on my nerves. I am not a cold-weather person (so why am I in Alaska? I married into it), but this is not right. As I type, it is 37 degrees and raining. There was a ceremonial start for the Iron Dog snowmachine race, and they had to truck snow it. Can you imagine that? We are going to be in the high 30's to low 40's for at least another week. Today's high is supposed to be 46 degrees. I have very miserable sled dogs.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm still going to keep tracking up, but probably won't be around much otherwise until the week's up. I'm tired just typing about it.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday!

Never give up, never quit.

I am so tired of this weather. We have sleet and freezing rain last night. It made the roads worse than they were on Monday after 7-10 inches of snow!

Jennifer, hope you get better soon!

I have been off track most of this week. We've had snow/ice twice this week, 3 basketball games and an orientation at the middle school that our pto had to work. I need to remember to make myself a priority. I'm going to take advantage of not having anything going on today. Gonna hit the gym with my daughter this afternoon once the roads get better.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Jennifer,

Hope you feel better soon. Sinus infections are no fun.

Thank you all for your thoughts and comments about my situation. Met with the director yesterday to discuss the reason for my suspension and shared my thoughts and concerns. He will make his final decision about my job and let me know on Wednesday at 9:30 am.

It is snowing here in Colorado and cold will be doing Zumba at home and maybe try to go to the gym depending on the roads. Have a blessed day!!

Well ended up with a sinus infection stomach upset from the antibiotics, that's the pits so off on eating the right foods for the last couple of days but at least the constant throbbing headache and stuffiness has eased up a bit so the antibiotics are helping. I haven't tracked my food the last several days all I wanted to do is rest and sleep, hopefully things will get more on track tomorrow, since I have to work this weekend. Need to give my immunity system a boost seem to catch every little bug come into contact with. emoticon

Hi team,

Yesterday was not a good day at work. My supervisor came to my desk, told me to get my things and come to her office. When I got there I found out I had been suspended due to something that was beyond my control. Usually when something happens I turn to food I am going to do my best to not do this with this situation. I have depression already and this is going to be a major struggle for me but with God's help I can do this.

Well, weigh in day today. Only down 1 lb this week after losing 2 - 5 every week since I started. Trying not to be disappointed because my measuring tape tells me I am losing inches at least! Finding it hard to do my walk every day. We have had -40 C weather here for the last few days and I have trouble bringing myself to go outside lol! I bundled up yesterday but didn't go as far as usual.
Hope everyone is having a good week so far =)

Thanks they did get home fine. I am a 471/2 year old student with a 26 year old son with Aspergers, a 22 daughter type 1 diabetic (she is getting married in May) and I work
30+ hours. But my class is canceled since we got 8+ inches of snow. I didn't work today and will not work tomorrow. But I did get some organization done and hope to get more done tomorrow.

I know what you are all talking about doing better in taking care of ourselves. I think as long as we keep trying that counts for something right?

How to fail miserably at your goal 101!

Have people quit so you must work 12 - 16 hr shifts 6 days a week for 5 weeks surrounded by not so healthy food.

cram for a huge once every 3 year audit in one week while working said 12 - 16 hr shifts.

totally ignore the support you get by logging in to Sparkpeople.

Have your 1 month old granddaughter develop spinal meningitis and be life flighted 3 hours away.

Taking care of the other 3 kids during said audit and scary hospitalization.

Get bogged down by excuses.

Give up.

Wait, not so fast...I am not giving up. I am resetting.

I have had my healthy breakfast!

JENNIFER5001, I know about getting back on track. I have a bad habit of absent-minded eating -- being in the kitchen cooking and next thing I know, I've had a few chips. Almost like sleep walking and going to the fridge without realizing what I did. I'm sure all those little calories are adding up. I've started making sure that I have a water bottle within reach at all times (more like a Crystal Light bottle). I'm hoping to get in the habit of grabbing for that instead of the food.

FVUSCMOM, happy anniversary! I do hope is was a good celebration. Our youngest was born on our first anniversary, so we're always sharing with her. Whenever hubby asks me what I want (yes, typical male) for our anniversary, I point at our daughter and say, "I already got it". Of course, I wouldn't turn down anything else he got me....

CINDYSDAY, I hope your DS and DH made it home safely. And good luck on your Excel test. My hubby has our budget on Excel spread sheets out the yin yang. He will try to explain to me when the money goes and I look at it and my head goes blank. He's got all these links and such. One time I was a little irritable, he finally said to me that I needed to learn all this in case he drops dead. Man of many words. I told him that an Excel spread sheet wasn't going to help me if he were dead. So, he just can't die, ever.

Heather hope you got your wish of snow. Right now it's almost midnight and it's 37 degrees outside. That's nuts. As for taxes, every day hubby says he needs to work on the taxes. But then he grabs a handful of peanuts and sits on the couch. There are way to many schedules and forms and credits and whatevers for me to figure it out. Before we were married, I had just graduated to a 1040A from a 1040EZ.

Out to my pups early and into the bath. It's my youngest daughter's parent/teacher conference in the wee early morning. That will be fun.

Happy President's Day!

Never give up, never quit.

Okay, so I am going to start this whole exercising and dieting thing again have failed miserably at it this last couple of weeks, No excuses some of it is my own self giving into temptation, then stress related to family an work. I have a huge tendency to over extend myself, an put myself last. I agree I need to get more consistent rest but the constant shifting between shifts and trying to keep pace to help my daughter with my Grand-daughter getting her to school in the mornings an babysitting on the weekends just does not leave a whole lot of me time. But I am going to put my best foot forward and try to stop making excuses, because in the end if I want my health to get better I have to make some life style changes. emoticon emoticon

Hi Team,
I hope everyone is doing well...I stayed in calorie range over this long weekend so far; paddled (saw my sea lion this weekend);Hula Hooped for extra calories to eat; and celebrated 32 years married TODAY!

How did we ever get here from there? Glad not to be seventeen (yep, I did); and to be done with going to college (I was a career student). In my last year of 40-something, and still waiting to get the one offspring married and into motherhood so I can have someone I love call me grandma.

I have worked really hard for 68 pounds less these last thirteen months. I can't believe it. DH can't believe it. I still have that last 22 pounds to make it to my goal of 90 less before the big 5-0...Then, I get to learn SP maintenance!

That future hypothetical grankid will never know I was the fat grandma before he/she came along.

I love the taste of food, but I love the taste of life even better!

Karen, I hope that you had a great weekend away.

We are on snow watch. It should be coming late tonight. I hope anyway. DS gets off work at 10pm and DH has to go and get him. I would like a snow day except I don't work I don't get paid. :( It would give me more time to study. I am suppose to take a test on Tuesday (depends on the snow) in my computer's class on Excel. I am studying but still nervous.

I hope everyone is safe and warm!

Checking in after being away SO LONG!

Been very busy with the new job and the shop. Both are going well!

I've spent the day paying bills, balancing the check book and rounding up all of the paperwork to file taxes. Ugh! This is not going to be fun this year!

We've got snow (and a lot of it!) heading our way. Is it bad that I'm just kind of hoping to be snowed in tomorrow so I can have an extra day off? emoticon emoticon

KATESCAPE, my dogs would really love it if you'd send some snow this way. It's too warm and they're getting fat and lazy. They need to run, but they want the snow to do it in. For some reason in the spring and summer they will run, but I guess that's because they know it's not going to snow. Smart dogs, I think. Right now at 12:37am it is 31 degrees. Not normal, though I'm thankful for the warmth if you can call it that.

I wish you luck on finding your home. We finally got the final inspection on our new house, and it will really be "ours" probably in another two weeks (waiting for the final change orders and bill from the contractor). Our complete move-in date will be May when the youngest daughter is out of school. We thought of moving earlier, but that gives us time to make sure the fence is dig-proof for the dogs and if there are any other little things that need to be done, we'd like them finished before we move -- much easier on the animals and any workers that come in.

Off I go. My Valentine's Day has been postponed (thanks to a migraine), but in this house, nothing goes as planned, so that's fine by me. When hubby noticed I had a migraine (woke up with it) and of the postponement, he said, "Don't worry, honey, I still love you." How romantic is that?!?

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Just getting a few minutes to stop by and say, "Hi". I wish I could say I had exciting plans with my sweetheart, but he is taking a nap now before heading out later to plow/sand for the 2nd blizzard this season! I am not really in favor of this decision, but he promised me he would be careful, since he is still in the early stages of recovering from back surgery 4 wks ago. He is set to start PT next week!

On a snow note, I just heard if Boston gets 10 more inches, they will surpass the greatest snow total ever recorded in Chicago since records have been recorded...YIKES!!! Another 12-18 inches is expected, so I am sure that statement will ring true. I am so over this winter & cold. I have had plenty of time in with the snow shovel this season. usually that's DH's job, but d/t his back, the responsibility has fallen on me. emoticon emoticon

Actually, I am pleased to have a relaxing evening. Today I have already logged 27,144 steps, 12.85 miles. I did start my day at 4 this morning and was non-stop cleaning, laundry, shopping, etc. I do have some exciting news and it's the main reason why I have been MIA. DH & I are in the market for a new house and will be moving. Looking for a new home is taking ALL of my time. If I'm not working or sleeping, I am searching on line, in the newspaper and traveling around with our realtor, Samantha. emoticon

I wish you all a lovely and healthy weekend and that each day you are getting closer to your goals emoticon

Happy Anniversary Karen! emoticon

Thanks Hoosier, for the kind words! emoticon

Busy day, gonna be busy again tomorrow, then the weekend which is also going to be busy. The house is finally in it's last stretch, and it's to the point where you just want to say to the contractor, screw it, thank you, get out. It's really getting old. They better hurry as we can't move anything in (the actual move-in will be May, but we'll slowly start taking stuff up there) until we get the final blessing. I found some potatoes and onions sprouting in my kitchen. I WANT MY ATRIUM!

Out to check the dogs after cleaning the kitchen, making a school lunch, and making sure the Valentine's cards all in the van. Bog party at the elementary school. Daughter was cute saying I was invited, but it would really be okay if I didn't show up, please. Yep, polite all the way. I wouldn't be able to go anyway, and being around 28 10 and 11 year olds high on sugar would really be exhausting.

Happy Friday the 13th, everyone!

Good morning everyone. I am sorry that I have been MIA for awhile. With full time work, part time college, daughters wedding May, 2015 and taking care of my Mother I just have too much going on. Mom passed away in September. I am just now trying to get back on track. I pray that this is my year for me! emoticon

No more wind -- yea! The teachers at my daughter's school are very happy as the kids get to go outside for recess. Nothing like having 400+ kids cooped up for six and a half hours. I know I would get itchy if I didn't get out. The dogs were so used to being inside out of the wind that when my daughter went out this afternoon, they were all sleeping in the shed. She had to all but push them outside and they looked up at the sky like "Oh, we can be out here". Then they all wandered to the straw and went back to sleep in the sun. Lazy dogs.

Had a busy week so far and it ain't over yet. I'm excited about tomorrow because my kitchen appliances in the new house are getting installed. Yea! It's going to be so beautiful, if I may say. I'm not going to want to get them dirty. Guess we'll be eating out so my stove top stays clean.

MIA for awhile, sorry. Things got a little crazy for awhile. I've let my tracking slide and have gained back 2-3 of the 6 pounds I lost last month (ARGH!). I have been keeping up with doing cardio twice a week. Missed my tap class for 2 weeks due to kids' commitments, but my hubby was able to get home early last night so I could go - thanks, honey! My shoulders have been bothering me more lately (a terrifying thought after my surgery from hell last January). I started doing my PT exercises again and it does seem a little better. My entries on here may be pretty sporadic for awhile. We are now in the middle of my oldest daughter's robotics season and that means a lot of out of state tournaments. We now have 3 of 6 under our belt, not including the world competition at the end of April (if they qualify). My husband and I haven't been quite as vigilant with our calories, but we're still trying to keep our meals reasonable. I've been making at least one big recipe (usually a soup) on Sundays that will last for 2-3 meals plus some to put in the freezer. This makes busy weeknight meals a lot less stressful (and we're eating a lot less frozen pizza!). I haven't had a chance to read through the entries to catch up on everyone. I hope you are all doing well!

Jennifer, I do hope this week is better for you. I know when I get overwhelmed with this family, as much as I love them, I revel in the alone time I get (which is very rare). Sometimes just closing myself off (figuratively) and reading or writing gets me regenerated and wanting to join the family again.

HOOSIER_DODDS, good to see you again! My prayers are with your dad. My aunt last week was diagnosed with throat cancer. She sees an oncologist for today and we'll get more info. Poor lady had been battling seizures and was seizure-free for four months and looking forward to finally being able to drive again. But to no avail, another setback. My uncle is an awesome guy who is still madly in love with his wife after about 30 years, and willing to do whatever it takes. He's hoping his wife has the same attitude.

Time to go out to my dogs and hit the bath and hit the hay. Another busy week in the making -- some good and some bad events, but such is life. Happy Monday, everyone!

Never give up, never quit.

Well not much going on with me just been relaxing with the family and enjoying the weather. I don’t know what going on with me but I been doing a lot of napping lately. Today I took a nap for 3hrs and I woke up with TOM boy do I hate when that happens. I am doing much better with my breathing since we gave away two of our cats. I haven’t had anything that really triggering my coughing either so I am happy. I been using my inhalers less this week with is great. I haven’t done much walking this week. So my steps will be on the low side. Did anyone get hit with that bad blizzard? I know my son did as he lives in Elmira NY. Spoke to him the other day and it was very cold and in the minus. Well hope everyone had a great week and weekend.

When I started this team, Kate and April_V_2 were just about to take the leadership roles. Now, they are moving on. I will move on when I lose my 40-something title at the end of this year. Until then, I am 22.5 pounds away from my goal of 90 pounds less, and this team has been a part of my journey. I hope to see my goal before I move off this message board.

I hope I'm in time to say "goodbye" to you, Kate. You've been such a blessing as a team leader and I wish you well in your other endeavors. Please do let us hear from you as time permits. Thanks to Karen for sticking with us and welcome to our new fearless leaders.

I definitely understand being pulled in all directions--that's why it's been so long since I've checked in here. The holidays were so hectic, then my mother had a health set-back, and now my father has been diagnosed with cancer (for the third time) and is having major surgery this week to address it. (Prayers would be much appreciated this Thursday.)

Anyway, I realized it has been weeks since I've been on Spark People, and know that it does me good to check in, so here I am. I will make a concerted effort to check in at least once a week.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Jennifer,

You keep posting that you are tired, and I can hear your frustration from the fatigue.
I have read that not getting enough sleep causes weight gain. It may be very difficult for you to see any progress. I suggest you put on your "start page" a goal to get eight hours of sleep every night. This means planning more than eight hours in bed because it may take time to fall asleep naturally. Maybe get there ahead by 20 minutes and set the alarm for eight hours and twenty minutes after you go to bed. Figure out when you have to be up and work backward from that time to calculate when you need to say good night.

In this, you have got to make yourself a priority. Fatigue is not healthy.

One thing at a time...so get into the habit of rest, then add in tracking nutrition, and using other spark tools when you have mastered rest.

I mention often that my "one thing at a time" FIRST was to drink eight glasses of water and restrict sodium every day for a year before I even joined SparkPeople. I had high blood pressure, but my doctor allowed me to negotiate the water intake over taking a prescription to get it back down to normal. For you it may be getting enough rest, and when you have it mastered, add in other spark tools...

Wind is still up at 75mph. That means at 12 degrees, the wind chill is -21 degrees. At least the loose snow all blew away so I don't get that stinging hit to the face. Still need to go out and check the dogs, but my hope of waiting until it dies down just ain't happening. This better stop by Sunday as I have to drive to the big city.

Happy weekend, everybody!

KATESCAPE- We have been on the team together for a long time and I value the friendship we have developed. I will miss you and the team will miss you, but situations do sometimes demand that we shift focus to other parts of our lives in need of attention. My sincerest thank you for all that you have done for the team and for the friendship and support you have given to me and the other 40 somethings! You're a very special lady!

Wishing you the best always! And,...please do stop out here and say" hi" once in a while! emoticon

Happy Friday, Team!

I am very sad to have Kate step down, I have shed lots of tears, BUT she needs to do this and I WANT her to take care of herself and her family. I cannot give enough THANKS to her for her support of me and this team and her friendship!
emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am SO blessed and happy to have Vicky and Janet with me now, though! A HUGE thank you to them for seeing the need (without me even saying anything!) and stepping forward! It speaks to me of their commitment to this team and to each of you. I am SO excited to have them here!
emoticon emoticon emoticon

I pray each of you have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend! Love to all.

Karen

Happy Friday everyone! Took the day off today to spend as much time with my daughter before she flies the nest in a about a week and half. So much to do, what with the packing, storing, sorting through what she wants to keep, what she wants to give to charity and what we just need to toss. When she was born, boy did I have the baby blues... think I'm having them again. Gonna be a tough time and with me a stress eater...this is going to be difficult.

I'm glad I found Spark when I did emoticon I just kept chanting "I can do this" LOL So you all have a great Friday and stay warm (it's below zero here with the wind chill factored in - booo)

I'm gonna make the rest of my life; the best of my life.

Sometimes you just need to step outside, get some air and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be.

Quick note before trying to head outside -- it's 19 degrees with 75mph wind, meaning wind chill is -6 degrees. Lights are flickering, but so far the power stays on. I love wind chimes, but listening to the neighbors "tinkling" for four hours is really grating on the nerves. I'd go rip them down, but the guy is huge and I don't want to get hurt.

Happy Friday, everyone!

P.S. Katescape, I'll miss you. Hope life gives you a breather now and then so you can say hi.

Well, it has been quite awhile since I last posted. This message is a duplicate, sent via spark mail, but for some who choose not to receive spark mail, I wanted to post on the board.

Hello 40 Something's~

It is with a VERY heavy heart, that I am making this announcement. I need to step down as co-leader to the team. I do plan to be around from time to time, but it will be limited and I felt and still do that a team should have strong leaders who can commit wholeheartedly. My personal life is calling...(correction), demanding more of my time than ever before and I have not be able to find a balance.

I can not say enough about our team leader ARKAIOS (aka: Karen) and I personally thank her from the bottom of my heart. It has been a pleasure, working with you in this capacity and am so grateful for our spark friendship.

I would also like to take this time to congratulate and commend both, ZINGALOO & VICKYLYES, for agreeing to work with ARKAIOS moving forward and wish them all the best!

Thank you each and everyone of you for the spark support over the past year and I look forward to seeing you on the boards.

Hugs~ Kate

I hope in the days ahead, I will have some time to check back in and catch up with everyone

When I first started back up again, my oldest daughter (now pushing 20) asked me if I was having an affair because I was on here "all the time" and I just seemed different. I assured her that I wasn't, and that people can change without doing something "naughty" as she called it. I showed her what I was doing and she said, "Okay" in the way that children do when they doubt what you just said. I'm too happy with my hubby who uttered the infamous words, "Honey, I don't care what you look like".

After being in the single digits and less for a while, it was so nice to see the temperature at 23 degrees when I dropped my youngest daughter off at school. But! As soon as the sun rose, BAM! Those 50 mph gusts hit and man, that hurts. What little snow we have left is blowing and the sting is painful. Gotta get a pot of green tea going as hubby took our son out for a walk, and I bet they'll be chilled when they get back.

Have a list of errands a mile long to do before school pick up. Makes Lucy happy as she gets to go for a ride. There's only the post office and credit union and dr's office bakery and pharmacy and discount bread store and Target. And I promised my youngest a junior roast beef from Arby's after a job well done on her trumpet test and her three math tests.

Just looking at the wind blow is making me shiver. Happy Thursday!

Never give up, never quit.

PeaceLoveJoy,
I started this with you last year. I remember you as Queen of One-derland! Please, stick around with me this year. You missed how I got accused of getting Lapband surgery and of having an affair, all because of SPARKPEOPLE!

If you are looking for trouble, you will get some right here. People just won't believe that a website can be the sustaining factor that brings about such noticeable change. They will make up all sorts of alternate stories of how you got be the smaller size that you will become from sticking around right here! Just stick around here, and trouble will find you!

I love the taste of food, but I love the taste of life even better!
