My daughter had decided last night to "be the better person", and sent her a message last night. She knows it is a bit unorthodox to contact her through a message, but decided it was the best way to explain to her without emotions going too high and causing more problems. Apparently, this was a mess of miscommunication. We met Derek's Dad for lunch afterwards, and I think she assumed he was going to be at the small ceremony beforehand. Somehow, she felt that they just didn't invite her....Ashleigh will probably try to call her in a couple of days. My daughter is still very upset, and knows she needs to have her emotions in check first. When she does meet up with her, she will make sure Derek can go with.

I am very tired today. I'm sure the weather has something to do with it. What happened to summer? I have some seatbelt covers on my sewing table that are just about done. I will be happy just finishing up those. I also plan to take one of my older style seatbelt covers, and cut it in half and sew the raw edge. It won't look pretty, but Anastasia's neck has been getting red from the belt. We had been tucking pads from a cloth diaper in there, but she is old enough now, where she pulls it out. I am hoping the velcro on these covers will prevent that. When things, calm down, I will try and make a set that is more suitable.

I went in to talk to my manager about an upcoming week in July. My mom will be visiting my sister in Ohio. My other sister talked to me on Saturday about the two of us driving out there, and staying at a hotel. This way we could see her, since none of us has seen her since the brain surgery in December.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Michelle

Weebot - Thank you for asking about Anastasia. She is doing very well, other than the normal teething that toddlers do!

The insurance ceremony was very short and sweet. Just enough to make it official. But, we did it at a park in Middleton with the lake in the background.

We met with Derek's Dad afterwards for lunch and had a great time. I had a delicious chicken panini. Yum!

Then, the drama hit for my daughter...... Derek's mom did not make it to the park on time, after being told the time and date four times in the last few months. She started texting Derek and Ashleigh some nasty messages about how hurt she was. And then, told them that the wedding on August 12th was just a drunken party. Derek and Ashleigh are beyond hurt. They are putting a lot of time and effort into the wedding, and will be exchanging vows and rings at that ceremony. I hope they can clear this up. His mother is going through a nasty divorce herself, so who knows what state of mind she was in on Saturday morning. But, the ceremony lasted literally 2 minutes.

After the ceremony, I offered to take Anastasia home with me. It was still the first night of their marriage. I wish they could have really enjoyed it, but it was good that Anastasia was not around that negative energy too.

Today, I am working in my sewing room. I am off until Thursday so I hope to at least cut out Anastasia's dress before then.

Happy Monday everyone. Thank you for the welcome. I am finding that I just need a general chat forum to keep me motivated. I belong to a couple of bariatric groups on Facebook but they are to, I'm not sure what other than annoying. They all act like they are perfect and that their food lives are perfect and they police everyone's eating habits. Don't get me wrong we all need to be accountable for our eating habits. Bariatric surgery is nothing more than a tool to help a person get healthy and stay healthy and each surgical team has their own guidelines. I so appreciate my surgery, without it I don't think I would be alive today. I am just grateful to get back to spark people where I started my weight loss journey. I am now 50 pounds away from my goal weight and just need support of others that are my age living life to the fullest and enjoying the journey.

I need to get back to walking. It will really help with the brain fog that seems to creep in during the afternoon.

Thank you for keeping me motivated.

Vicky, glad you had a nice time.
Michelle, how is Anastasia doing?

I am feeling much better. I took a couple leisurely walks yesterday. I'm trying not to over do it.
I've been doing pretty good with tracking food, now that I have a phone that will run the app.

I'm packing my walking shoes, so I can take a lunch walk and enjoy the mild weather, plus a mid-day mental break is always helpful.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Julie, welcome to the chat!

Michelle, sorry to hear about Anastasia.

Weebot, hope you are feeling better.

We had a great time in San Francisco. I actually lost 5 lbs from all the walking we did. Of course it helped that I was too busy to be snacking all day. Our hotel was right on the water. There was a great trail that Taylor and I went walking and running on. Then we went for a big hike. I can't believe how high we climbed. Getting down was worse that going up.

Michelle, sending prayers for Anastasia. That must be scary for everyone.
Hemiwife, I bet you don't have time to get bored at work.
Hello everyone.

I've been a bit under the weather and have almost no appetite. I've just been eating enough to keep my meds down. Not exactly the diet plan I was looking for....lol

I continue to get a ton of steps at work most days. Moving to a larger space makes it easier. I have to walk across the building just to get to the copier and the parking lot is a little hike too.

I had my granddaughter for a few hours today and then I made sure I didn't have any plans for the rest of the weekend. I am making myself take it easy and rest.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Good morning all. Its a crazy night in my ER. I walked into chaos, and the tones keep dropping for my medics to go out. I guess this means that I will be kept awake for sure tonight. I wasn't so sure as I didn't fall asleep until after 4 this afternoon and was up by 9.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Good luck with that whole thyroid mess. I've been there done that and am still riding the train as I have no thyroid because of cancer. Then I had a gastric sleeve and now can't seem to keep my meds adjusted as I keep losing weight. Before I had thyroid cancer I was hyperthyroid but with all the symptoms of hypothyroid.

Well, I had better jump off here and go register the patient that just came in by ambulance before it gets any crazier. See ya'll on the flip side.

Feeling a little better today. I still don't have a ton of energy but more than I did and the sore throat seems to be moving on. I go back to work tomorrow, so hopefully I sleep better tonight than I have the last two... My lip seems less swollen. The "burn" hurts, but its going to take a while for that one to heal. Every morning, the top layer of "blister skin" peels off. That actually makes it feel better than the dried up skin. But, as my doctor and i talked this morning, you can't really put anything on your mouth.... I'll live.

Check up went well, and don't need to go back for six months. He didn't even ask about changing my meds, and I decided to leave them where they are until I get this whole thyroid mess figured out. I feel better, but with help of LOTS of supplements!

Anastasia had another seizure today. Poor little girl..... She fell and hit her head, so Mom is worried she may have a concussion. She talked to her pediatrician over the phone. They think it may be a combination of the high fevers from her teething. Apparently, her molars are starting to come in. My daughter is just so upset. The government screwed up at the court house, so Anastasia does not have insurance. She should have been able to take her to the doctor right away, but......

Hope everyone is having a good day. Gloomy and rainy here! Think I may do some crocheting this evening.

Weebot - Glad your move is finished!

As of last night, I have gotten Anastasia's cold. I'm not upset. I would rather get her cold than not see her! But, I have scratchy throat with the sinus thing going on. I have an appointment tomorrow, so if it is serious enough yet, I'll bring it up. Tomorrow is my recheck for my anti depressants. I went on them about a year after my Dad passed away. I just became so angry.... I tried going off of them about two years ago, but it wasn't pretty. I'm sure he will bring it up again, but think I will ask him to just lower the dose for now. I think slower is better.

I had lunch with a friend at a chinese restaurant this afternoon. It was nice visiting, but I wouldn't recommend that dish again. I usually like Moo goo gai pan, but did not like how this one was prepared. It had whole mushrooms instead of sliced. Glad it was the lunch menu for only $4.50!

My husband is concerned about his job, and possibly being demoted. They are moving people around and responsibilities, and it concerns him. If that happens, he will look for work within an hour from home. We agree that if he changes jobs, he needs to come home. If that happens, it depends on what he will find. The reason he took that job away from home is because they don't pay well here. If he does end up with less pay, I'll have to increase my hours or find another job. Here we go again....... Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing happens until after the wedding!

I do not plan to make my dress. I just don't have the time, but it is time to start actively looking. My daughter was asking me what color I was wearing today. How do I know that until I start looking!

Hello everyone. It sounds like you are all doing well, except for MIchelle's busted lip....ouch.

I'm still super busy with work but we just about have everything out of the old building and almost unpacked in the new building. I've had to go in on Saturdays just to keep up and I have almost 100 hours of paid time off accrued because I've been too busy to vacation. There is something wrong with this picture..lol

I'm still logging steps at work, but not much other exercise is happening. I need to start doing some light weights at home again.

Gotta got ready for an early morning meeting. I hope everyone has a great day!

Michelle-- that stinks about your lip and the fall. I'm glad its a bit better. I hope it heals quickly. MMM tomato and cucumber together is a favorite of mine. Again-- you've go tmy mouth watering. .... wow your daughter is walking through a lot with this wedding. I will keep her in my prayers. Such a hassle-- and obviously the times don't work. I'm praying that get that turned around.

Dawnie-- Hope you are having a fantastic week!! You're doing awesome.

I walked my 5 miles yesterday. Actually I didn't mean to -- I was gonna skip out but ended up doing it while running an errand LOL. Ok so now, today, I wanna stop at 3. I'm getting lazy !!! My son woke up this morning and wanted me to walk him to work. He said he needed the company and wanted me to help him walk quickly. but on the way there he wanted to go slow-- so what was the point lol other than company and me to walk two miles at 7am.

ok i gotta run... talk to you soon.

looking for friends to connect with, get to know, and encourage each other along this journey. :-)

Have a great time Vicky!

I think my lip is starting to heal a bit. I really did a number on it! Bruising on the top, and below the lip. Blisters or burns on top, and a vertical cut down the inside - Not sure how teeth can cause a vertical cut, but.... the extra skin from the blisters peeled off this morning. That in itself makes it feel a bit better. The fat lip is the most annoying, but that will be around for a while, I am sure.

I don't work until 5:30 tonight, so I am enjoying a lazy morning before fixing a tomato and cucumber salad for my meal prep. That should get me through the next few days. I do so much better when i plan ahead!

I've never done well cutting something completely out of my diet. I did remove gluten for about a year when first diagnosed with my thyroid. I eat it now, but in moderation. If I eat too much, I feel very sluggish. Usually, if something is removed from a food, they add more sugar and fat to improve the taste..

My daughter has been battling the venue for her wedding. I think we are finally on the right track. The wedding coordinator she initially started with made so many mistakes and told her so many lies.... She has quit. The new one has her work set out for her fixing everything, but my daughter said she is helping the best she can. She found out that the venue will decorate - she was told she had to do it the morning of since we were not using their items. They also have some free items she can use. The price she was quoted for the wedding block rooms was $99. They are actually $199! They can't do anything about that, but are trying to get an earlier check in time for the wedding attendees. Check in isn't until 4, and the wedding is at 3.

Tomorrow, I am meeting a friend for an early lunch. We don't get together often with our schedules, but I am looking forward to it!

Kathleen - So happy to hear you are doing so well with your volunteer work, and offered pastoral work, and a job opportunity! That is just awesome!

I had Anastasia all weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed it! I gave her back to Mom when we met for our Father's Day lunch, so she could see my husband. I made sure to pick up a card for Anastasia's Daddy too. I put paint on her fingertip, and she made a paint splotch for a signature.

Saturday night, Anastasia was having a few nightmares. Must have been from all the new things she saw at the farm. I laid her back down around 3, and she cried the second I let go. I had to use the restroom, so I ran to the bathroom - and fell over the baby gate I forgot to take down.. I busted my lip up pretty bad, and it is swollen and cut up. I must have bit it pretty good. Don't think I'll forget to take those gates down in the future. This is pretty painful.....

But, we had fun anyway. Took a nice walk by a park and pushed her on the swings. She just loves the swings!

Hi everyone
Hi Weebot I did have a good Friday hope you did too!

Vicky-- Sorry to hear about your husband...those stones are incredibly painful !! YIKES

Michelle- So glad you are feeling better!!

This week I went to court over domestic violence. ( the prosecutor subpoenaed me against my ex from April 9th.) I was really nervous but its over and done with now.

At church they are giving me even more opportunities in the office. It feels so good to be trusted, encouraged, and able to help out. Also, the adult ministries Pastor is talking to me about taking Bible study, prayer, and communion TO the people in the community to our neighborhood away from the church building. I'm super excited. Although I may have a job opportunity that could interfere with it. I'm hoping not. I really want that one night a week to give to this venture.

Its beautiful here today. Hot again but I intend to finish strong this week with my miles. I only have 3.3 to do for this week to = 25. But I'm gonna do the extra ones that kept me from hitting 25 miles the last 2 weeks. I am just feeling empowered today and might as well do it while I'm up to it!!

Hope you all have a

Vicky, I hope your husband is feeling better..ouch. Isn't it crazy that you have to do extra work to get ready for vacation and then extra work to catch up after the vacation;)

Michelle, glad to hear you are doing a little better. My psoriasis, skin issues and achy joints are back, due to not paying attention to what I'm eating. I think I'm going to do a round of Whole 30 and clear my system. I've also put a few pounds back on.

We are pretty much moved in to our new building. I'm still setting up my office, but that's another story. We are of course still working out the kinks. I hate that we are leasing, but it wasn't my decision.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!

What a crazy day. Trying to get everything in order at work so I can go on vacation. Took jessie to take her drivers test again. Unfortunately she did not pass. We will try again tomorrow. As soon as we got home from that my husband was complaining about a sharp pain in his side. I took him to urgent care. He had a kidney stone and a gall stone. Jeez!!! He'll be going to our regular doctor tomorrow and move forward.

Jessie applied for her first job yesterday. She has an interview on Saturday. Yeah!!

We had some thunder and lightning this afternoon, but nothing too major. I heard Oshkosh was pretty bad. Rain was coming down sideways and the telephone poles were shaking!

I'm feeling pretty good today. I think with healthier eating, increased exercise, and the MCT oil, I am making my way back to the functional. The last two days have been a bit easier to get out of bed, and I didn't seem to have the brain fog today. Which was a good thing since the Regional manager was training with me. I wouldn't have retained any of it! I did get my write up, but it is basically a verbal.

I walked 50 minutes on the treadmill this morning, yelling at myself. I will not let this disorder beat me! I will take back my life! I can do this!! Think I got through to myself....LOL

We had some bad storms overnight in my area. Stevens Point had areas without power through this morning. Saw some photos from the damage out there. Just wow..... We had storms, but never lost power. The other side of town did, but I don't think it was out long. The manager had called the store last night to make sure we had power there since she lost power at her house.

I woke up a bit better this morning, but still having trouble with brain fog. And, now, I am starting to make mistakes at work. I made one last night that requires a write up due to corporate policy. emoticon I did some research and may try using some MCT oil. From what I read, it can help.....

Did my morning workout, and am meeting a friend for a walk around the lake this afternoon. It will be wet, but still looking forward to it! Then, making homemade almond protein bars, sewing, and making cabbage roll casserole. Going to be a busy day off, but it's better that way. Otherwise, I'd be laying around reading a book!

Vicky - Good luck with your daughter's drivers license! Scary, isn't it?!!

The doctor's assistant called me today to tell me that I am to continue with the dose I am taking. I told her I thought there was a significant change in numbers, and I didn't agree with that. She talked to the doctor again, and she told me the same thing. Only she suggested I take Selenium. Unfortunately, that is not an option for me. It is not recommended for people at risk for skin cancer. My father died from skin cancer, which means I am more likely to get it..... I would like to get a 2nd opinion, but I need time to research and to check if my insurance will cover them. In the meantime, I will watch my diet more. I may be eating more gluten than I should be. I have a sensitivity to it. A little in ok, but too much wreaks havoc...... With me working so many hours and being tired, I have succumbed to those cravings a bit. My plan is to stick to my tracking plan, and to exercise more. I have cut back to only a couple days a week. I felt so much better when I pushed myself to get it done! Time to sit back, regroup, and get back at it!

I have tomorrow off. I plan to get my aerobics workout in, and then take a walk with a friend in the afternoon. I'm getting bored with my floor exercises. I may start looking into some strength training videos. I really wish I could watch SparkTV on my television. My laptop screen is just too small....

I also will play in my sewing room!!!! I need to finish some seatbelt covers that are almost done, and then work on those curtains again for a friend :) Then, I am making a cabbage roll casserole for dinner with ground turkey and shredded cabbage. Yum!

Kathleen, you are doing great!! So proud of you!

Michelle, hope you get to feelng better soon. Did they adjust your medicine?

Well Jessie didn't get to go get her driver's license today. It was a 2 hour wait. She didn't have time since she has to get a tooth pulled today. She did really well with that. Drum lessons tomorrow so we are hoping to swing by after she gets done with those.

I'm trying to get things in order at work. My family and I are going to San Francisco on Sunday. I can't wait. It will be so good to get away.

The storms seemed to have missed us today. Looks like we just got the edge of it. They are calling for more overnight, but seems to be more prominent north.

Did my grocery shopping and got laundry done, but still fit in a well needed nap. We did grill out tonight. So glad the rain had ended for us to be able to do that - first grill out of the season! We had marinaded barbecue chicken breasts, rosemary herbed baby potatoes, and southwest pasta salad. Everything turned out great, but hubby is quite the charcoal grill master!

Fatigue, brain fog, and insomnia.... I will be calling the doctor if I don't hear something by noon. I work a four hour shift tomorrow night, but would like to pick up the prescription (if there is a new one) after work. Want to make those adjustments quick. I'm proud of what I am getting accomplished, but it is not easy. One foot in front of the other. My brain fog is the worst. I was standing in the shower yesterday getting ready for work, and forgot what I was doing... What do you think you're doing in the shower.....LOL

Hope everyone has a good night!

Weebot-- Hi! You are doing fantastic... 13,000 steps is approx 6.5 miles That's awesome!!!

Michelle-- you always make me hungry on here with what you are eating. I haven't had mexican food in a year. I've got to treat myself one day this summer to it. My mouth is watering now. Glad you had a morning where you could sleep in and then enjoy the bulk of your day!

Vicky-- I remember being a fearless teenage. and now my almost 20 year old thinks he is bullet proof. I'm so glad I only have about 5 or 6 more years of that thinking (I say with hope in my heart)

My new show I Nurse Jackie. I'm loving it. I'm still watching Grace and Frankie but almost done with what is already on netflix. I've also started watching Client List.but to balance it out I've started watching Dexter instead of repeating (for the 3rd or 4th time) Law and Order SVU. And I sprinkle in Blue Bloods and CSI Miami. I save my show watching for the evening from 7pm on til I turn in-- sometimes by 8:30 sometimes 11:30pm.

I've made progress on my devotionals that I am writing....and today I even came up with a title and focus for the 5 books I have been intending to break it down into (mini books with 91 devotionals each). The group of people it will be geared to are domestic violence survivors. It will be cathartic for me.

Speaking of which-- I finally returned to sleeping in my own bedroom rather than the couch in the living room where I have been since the last episode when he left April 9th. Not only is it more comfortable emoticon But there is an added un-predicted benefit........ since I am tucked away in my room and not right out in the main room -- my son has let me sleep through the night without waking me several times for random things. emoticon A full night's sleep!!! My acne is going away now from getting solid uninterupted rest... imagine that emoticon emoticon

I hope all is going well as you ladies wrap up your weekends. emoticon

I received a message with my test results today. Looks like a significant difference to me.

TSH
1/19/17 - 1.04
6/9/17 - 1.68

Thyroxine, Free, Free T4
1/19/17 - 1.5
6/9/17 - 1.2

Worked the last two mornings. Boy, did I have to work hard to get out of bed and today was the worst! The brain fog is just awful. I was standing in the shower asking myself what was I just doing..... Then I busted open a $65 jug of protein powder at work. I sure hope my Dr has some solutions for me on Monday. Not sure how much more I can take....

Tomorrow is my day off. I plan on easing out of bed when I am ready. Then, laundry and grocery shopping. The plan is to grill out for dinner. Hopefully, the wind dies down. That was the plan tonight, and opted for pizza instead!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

MIchelle, hope you get to feeling better!

Weebot, hope things slow down at work soon.

Kathleen, that's great about the challenge and on the loss!!

Our audit is over! So glad. It went very well. I just hate having extra people in the office. I like it when it's just me. I can get more done. Today was playing catch up on things. I couldn't do any billings or any transactions in the system since we were frozen.

I had to take Jessie to get checked out today. I swear sometimes teenagers don't think. She was sitting on the hood of her friends car and the friend decided to move the car while she was on it. Needless to say she feel off and hit her head. Got an xray fo her neck and the doctor checked her out. Her neck has been hurting her bc of it. Thanks goodness she's ok. Just sore. Tomorrow is her 16th birthday. Can't believe it! Hoping we can finish the car shopping tomorrow.

I closed the store last night and opened today. It was really hard today to work my 6 hours - just so tired and horrible brain fog. I even got up 15 minutes earlier than normal expecting it. Went to the clinic after work for my blood work. It feels like a thyroid imbalance. I hope so. That is an easy fix with a change in meds. She said they would get the results tonight or tomorrow, but it is the weekend. I don't expect to hear anything until Monday....

Hubby and I went out for Mexican tonight. I opted for chicken fajitas, and brought most of it home. I plan to freeze in portions. Would be a quick meal for when hubby is gone during the week. He won't eat peppers, onions, or cooked tomatoes.

Tomorrow is an 8 hour day, hoping it's a busy one. The hardest obstacle seems to be getting up and moving in the morning. One step in front of the other.... My motto lately :)

Happy Friday!

Michelle, sorry to hear your aren't feeling your best. I was really anemic in the past and made everything hard, I can't imagine dealing with thyroid issues. I hope you get some answers at your doc.

Kathleen, good luck with the challenge.

I'm just in survival mode right now LOL. I've been so busy at work and I have a lot more literal ground to cover and I'm still bouncing between 2 buildings, so I've been averaging 13,000 steps without even trying. I'm going to have to find more comfortable work shoes;)

We have a big open house the end of July, so that's my current motivator to stick to the plan.
I finally had to replace my old phone because it wouldn't charge anymore, so I can use the SP app again. So no excuses.

Have a great day everyone!

ok Michelle-- you were a very busy lady for someone so tired!! Good for you getting it all in!

I signed up for the summer 5% challenge. This will be my first.Have any of you done one yet? if so, what was your experience?

I weighed myself today. There happens to be a scale at my church in the gym so now I can weigh in weekly like I need to for the challenge. Anyway I was expecting to had gained a few pounds because my diet has had a lot of pasta and bread lately. But alas-- NO emoticon down 1 lb. emoticon
Guess all this walking is helping. Plus I wasn't taking in many calories last month. I think that had something to do with stalling me.

Quiet in here today.....

I have hypothyroidism, and I can feel it acting up. I feel so tired and sluggish... I broke down today and made a lab appointment on Friday to have it checked. I've only worked three hours in the last five days. No reason to be this tired. But, I muddled through today placing one foot in front of the other....

- Aerobic workout done
- Mammogram done
- Signed up for library card
- Adjusted time off slips at work
- Ate lunch
- Met a friend for a four mile walk
- Ate dinner
- Finished up my Etsy orders and packed up for shipping
- Made veggie pasta salad for lunch meal prep
- Did dishes

I am finally relaxing at 11:30 with a well deserved glass of red wine! Hoping for a good night's sleep tonight. I work 7 hours tomorrow!

I remember audits from a previous job. You always feel like you are being judged even though you don't do anything different. Hope they aren't there much longer!

Spent this morning working on food prep. I had some thawed out chicken breast that needed to be cooked, so I diced it and froze it. Then, I started dicing up some veggies for my California Summer Pasta Salad. Another great way to add those veggies into my diet!

This afternoon, my daughter and I went to her wedding dress alteration appointment. It was nice to see Anastasia and spoil her at Target. Boy! Glad that store isn't closer to me. I'd be broke! $$$ What an awesome clearance section though.

I am still very tired. I had thought it was my job, but I am beginning to think my thyroid is acting up again. I have an appointment tomorrow morning for a mammogram. I think I will talk to them about a blood test in a few days. I'd love to have do it tomorrow, but I need to stop taking my Biotin two days before the test. My workouts are suffering because of my fatigue, but my eating is better than it was last week.

Have a walk planned with a friend. That should help with the No excuses motto! Then, home to get some sewing done. I go back to work Thursday afternoon.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Kathleen, that was so nice of you to take that stuff to your son.

We are on day 2 of our audit from corporate. Wish they would get done so they could leave. I just like being in the office by myself. Plus I have things to return that I can't do until the audit is done.

We went and looked at another car for Jessie today. The only thing that seemed to be wrong was the ac. The air turns hot after 10 -15 minutes. I can handle that.

Have a great night!!

Vicky -- glad you got a day of leisure

Michelle enjoy your time with your daughter

I walked to Walmart today to get my son some fresh fruit. then I walked to his school to drop it off. the weather is beautiful. i only did 2.5 miles yesterday so I will make up for it today. I was able to get a couple hours in on my devotional book I'm working on. That made me happy. I find I'm running out of steam around 5 PM though. It might be more of a habit than actually getting tired or having less energetic motivation. I watched a couple videos at that time over the weekend. I am very much a creature of habit. If I do something 2 days in a row my body wants to do it the next day too. LOL so surprise surprise-- I'm gonna push through tonight and reset that point of leisure.

I hope you all are having a fabulous

MIchelle, sounds like things are going well with the wedding planning.

I was so lazy yesterday. Think I needed it after the busy week. This week is kinda nice. Had to make myself get out and walk tonight but I'm so glad I did.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Have had a horrible time sleeping the last two nights. I really slept in this morning, but relished the time to catch up a bit. I don't work until 6, and kind of looking forward to a nice 3 hour shift. These shifts won't last long since I requested longer shifts with less days, but I will savor it all the same.

Spent this morning booking our room for the wedding weekend in August. My daughter is getting married at Chula Vista. Found a great deal for a two bedroom condo! We wanted a condo anyway so we could cook our meals in the room instead of eating every meal out. My daughter and fiancee will also be staying there along with Anastasia. The whole setup will be so much easier on everyone. And I will have Anastasia for the following week, so it works out :)

Now, that I've been on the phone all morning not sure if I'll have time to make my pasta salad. Maybe I'll run to subway for a chopped salad.... Hmmmm..... Decisions.

My daughter is coming up tomorrow. I get two days off in a row!! WhooHoo! We are heading to Stevens Point for her dress alteration appointment. Hoping to get some sewing in after she heads home.

Hope everyone has a good day. I need to get my workout in. I am way behind schedule today!

I agree with WeeBot. I don't care for the community feed. I usually just follow my friend feed.

After my long week of work after spending my only day off last weekend hiking, I was absolutely exhausted yesterday!! I literally spent the whole day laying around and reading books on my Kindle app. But, today, we were off running errand in Stevens Point and grocery shopping closer to home. I picked up a used jogging stroller for Anastasia. After hiking with her last Sunday on the park trails, we realized we needed to find something better for trail walks. Found one for $60. Then, we picked up a couple of things at Staples and Petco, but had to at least look at JoAnn's too!

Came home and ended up having burgers at Culvers for dinner. Time to stop making poor choices and get back on the program! Hopefully, these reduced hours will help. Just too tired to put in the effort for meal planning and exercise. I'm going to make an italian pasta salad with lots of veggies tomorrow morning. I don't work until 6 tomorrow night. I'm hoping for some sewing time too :)

Shiny,
I really haven't gotten into the community feed much. It feels weird just responding to random people. I do like to read some blogs when I have time.

Kathleen, I had to learn an old version of Publisher for my job. It's kind of fun once you get started.

Michelle, it's good to hear your supervisor values enough to work with you rather than lose you. Sounds like a win-win.

Vickey, congrats to your graduate.el

Hello, to anyone I missed.

We got everything moved from one building to another, but we still have sorting and rearranging to do. We have the main area ready so we can reopen for participants on Monday. I've barely touched my office. I'm going to have to unpack a little at a time.

With everything going on, exercise has not been a problem emoticon

Hi everyone!!! Shiny, I try to interact here and on another group I'm in. I do reply so some of the posts in the community feed but I really only do it enough to get my sparkpoints. Unless there's some really good posts there.

Michelle, glad to see things are working out at your job.

WEEBOT, being sick sucks!! Hope your move at work goes quickly. Our office moved a couple of years ago.

Kathleen, that is great you are going to be learning something new. I've never worked on publisher.

Well it's official! My daughter is a high school graduate. Can't believe it. I kept my cool up until the end when they had them over their tassels to the other side. She also had a blast at the lock in. I got in 15,000 steps for Thursday. The I had another 8000 from midnight to 5am. I think I have finally recovered from staying up all night.

Hi everyone--

Shiny-- I'm like Michelle. I have a couple chat's from 3 teams I'm a member of. I also have been doing some word game and question of the day forums. And through that I have developed some friendships that eventually became offline texting a couple times a week.

Michelle -- I'm so glad you are getting your hours worked out. Its been a long time coming. You are way due for this. emoticon

Weebot- sorry to hear you were sick. Glad you are doing better.

Its a gloriously sunny day today. Has been this week. We just don't have a breeze today so I am putting off the bulk of my walking until this evening.

I found out today that my ex got picked up (finally) from the assault April 9th. He was going to leave the state today and go back to his home state. But fate stepped in and they caught up to him on Tuesday. He was so close to leaving. I guess the universe has a way of working things out for the best. It stirred up a BUNCH of emotions in me. I have decided to just stay BUSY today to keep my mind off it,.

Tomorrow I go to a BBQ for my adult Sunday School class
Next week I start learning Publisher 2016 where I volunteer-- very excited. I'm learning how to do a big weekly project so the office manage can take a vacation without anything falling thru. What an honor to be asked to learn and fill in.

I have
a son who loves me very much
money for rent
groceries
books to read
netflix to watch
sun to walk in
budding friendships
and a scale that reads BELOW 200 for last 4 weeks finally

Kathleen

I stay interactive with the group chats and friend feeds.

Weebot - Glad you are feeling better!

My manager and I talked this afternoon. She started out by thanking me for all the extra hours I have put in, and gave me a gift card as a thank you for some ice cream. I then told her that I didn't want to quit, and suggested that I work two longer shifts a week, rather than five 3-4 hour shifts. I need more full days off to get other things done. She agreed and mentioned that she could see that the extra hours were wearing on me. She pushed the new girls training a bit because of it. I think this will work.

I felt so much better after work today that I went to the lake and took a walk, just beautiful!! I have been a slug the month of May. I worked out here and there, but not committed to it. Today is June 1st, so I started it out right!

Hey everyone:)

I've been super busy at work, plus I was sick for over 2 weeks and never seem to have to time to get on here. We are doing our big move at work this week. I'm hoping things will slow down after this, but I won't hold my breath. It's been quite an ordeal that's for sure.

I finally got a new phone, so I can get back to tracking again.

Off to catch up on what everyone has been up to.

I'm struggling to interact with Spark. I don't know why but the site feels like interactive now. We get a list of random people saying whatever and that's good but you don't build relationships via Twitter like feeds... or I don't I guess.

What do you think? Any tips on actually getting involved with others on Spark?

Went to work and gave my notice, and agreed to work out the posted schedule. Thirty minutes after she left, the Senior Store Manager called to see if I would consider working on a limited basis. Hubby and I talked about it tonight after work. I am going to offer working two days a week with Sundays off and see if that would be agreeable. If so, I'll work through until September and re-evaluate at that time. At that time, I will set forth guidelines for Fall moving forward. Need to make sure the hours will work for me!

Guess I was more valuable than I thought!

That sounds like a fun night for the graduates - and yes, you'll definitely get your steps in, I would so call it exercise. :-)

Michelle- that is beautiful view. I'm glad you were able to get in that hike w/your hubby. BTW -
that's hardly a few steps up. LOL. It's good that you made the decision now before summer really starts - but it's not like the company can't find part time summer help easily. You don't need the stress for yourself or the family.

Pray. Hope. Don't worry.

What a great view Michelle!!

I will be off and on for the next couple of days. Taylor graduates tomorrow night. Can't believe it. Then we have the lock in for the graduates tomorrow night. I won't have time for a real work out tomorrow but I figure I'll get enough steps in throughout tomorrow night. I plan on sleeping until late morning on Friday then get my house back to normal.

Here's a picture of part of the supplies in my front living room. I have about twice as much stuff in there now for the lock in. This picture really doesn't do it justice.

Had rough couple of days last week. Depression set in hard!! The realization that hubby was going to be home for four days, but I only got one of those off was just too much for me to handle..... So, hubby and I talked about my work situation a lot this weekend. We have a very unique situation with him working out of town, and we have a very close relationship. The last few months have been incredibly hard on us, with me working so much. I have been requesting a lot of weekends off lately. A great deal of them have been for my daughter's wedding shower, wedding, etc... I also have requested a couple of weekends so we can go camping.

Then, to top it off... My manager tells me today that she will do her best to accommodate the dates I've requested, but there was no guaranteed. I understand I can't get special treatment but, these are dates that I need off. Then, she goes on to tell me that she only gets one day off a month. That is her choice. She gets one day off a month because she is working two jobs. She had this past Saturday and Monday off at the store. I know, because I was the one working those shifts. I also tried to ask for some Fridays off once in a while to spend time with my husband. She asked me if I still needed Sundays off then for that. Of course I do! Most families get more than one day with their spouses.. Grrrr....... Sorry for the rant, just needed to vent.

After discussing it with my husband over the weekend, and tonight... We have decided it would be best to put in my notice for the summer. I can't expect special treatment. I get that. But, I am also very busy this summer. I also have to squeeze in time to make Anastasia her dress for the wedding. I am only working part time, and I can look for a job in the fall and see what comes up. Apparently, retail is not the answer. I'm not sure what is, but I'll figure it out.

We did go hiking on Sunday at Devil's Lake State Park on Sunday. My daughter met us there with Anastasia. I picked up Subway for lunch, and started on the trails. Anastasia was having so much time laughing and giggling! Found a rocky trail up the bluff, and I walked up it for a bit. I thought it was just a few steps up, but it kept going, and going, and going. My legs are still sore from that steep rocky staircase!! But, it was a beautiful view!

Here is a a peek at part of the staircase.

And the view. We never made it all the way to the top, but this was beautiful!

Hubby went out for dinner last night to spend some quality time together and enjoy it before he left again this morning. Trying to savor all the time I can.

This morning was back to the grind. I spent this morning cooking up a meal to freeze in portions. I had taken the chicken out of the freezer and it needed to be cooked before it went bad. Tomorrow, I plan to make a pasta salad for lunches. Busy, busy....

That's the spirit Belinda!

We had a good weekend. Got some great walking in. Today was a little rough but I made it through. I had a snack instead of a real lunch and went walking. Think it was a little warm and along with not eating enough, it wore me out. We went to a bbq at 2 so I was trying not to eat a lot. I'm so proud of myself. I had one deviled egg, a kabob and a bratwurst. My husband decided to get crab rangoon as our side dish I can't believe I didn't eat any!! And I have enough calories left for a light dinner in a little bit!!

Oh - so I just checked in to view my goals for the minutes challenge here and see that I have 1K minutes for the month. I can still do this, even w/my zero minutes for last week. If I do 67 minutes twice and 66 minutes once in the next 3 days, I will hit the 1K for the month.

I've decided, I'm GOING to do it.

I am feeling oh so very motivated right now!

Pray. Hope. Don't worry.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before... but I've recently learned that my best bet of getting exercise in is to start off with Monday night tennis. C - I love tennis but it had been 11+ years since I played... until 3-4 weeks ago when I found a league "near" my home. I only play once a week, but b/c of that one day, I feel SO good that i want to get more exercise in so I can lose more weight and get in better shape. However - last week, I didn't get to play. With hindsight 20/20 vision, I should have... because it wrecked havoc on me. I felt like c-r-a-p for "skipping out" and b/c that evening wasn't as "nice" as I had hoped I felt even worse for missing out. So with the no exercise and not having the evening as I nice as I wanted in my head, I allowed it to bring me down the rest of the week. I did ZERO exercise the entire week. Even over the weekend, the chores I did, I did sitting and did nothing. I allowed my emotions to run and ruin my exercise and spark streaks I had going.

This week however, while I plan to play tennis today, I'm sure it won't happen b/c it will rain instead. With the rain chances and knowing how last week went, I have an alternate plan. I'm going to the treadmill and using my weights today so I'll get 30 minutes in with or without tennis.

I do believe that this will keep my motivation going for the week and will follow through with my plans for activity for the week.

Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend! I went for a short walk yesterday while waiting to pick up my daughter. Figured I'd better get something in before the storm started.

Been a productive day so far even though it's early. Got dishes done and did a short stint on the elliptical. Will be going for a walk later.

Have a great day!!

Great outlook Kathleen!!

ONEDAYATATIME, that picture is so cute!!!!

We have no plans this weekend. I love it!! I'm going to spend some time getting the prizes together for the senior lock in this Thursday. Wish me luck in staying up all night. I'm "working" from home on Friday, which means I'll be sleeping and bumming around the house. Can't wait to see what my step count will be once I get home.

What does everyone else have going on this weekend?

Michelle-- Did you get some sewing in yesterday?

ONEDAYATATIME-- I love that book Battlefield of the Mind!! I listen to Joyce Meyer on YouTube when I walk or while I clean. My journey is about all kinds of growth and health too: mental, spiritual, emotional, financial and it started out physical.

My son has been over everyday for two weeks. Last night his gf had a special event and so he didn't come over. OK that was so weird! I had gotten used to him that quickly. I felt out of place. Not lonely...just weird -- like something was off. This surprised me because after he has been over for a couple hours I am usually ready for him to go (LOL) because I am not used to that much interaction and conversation. He got momma's chit chat ability to hold LONG conversations. The difference is I was trained out of it by my ex. He wouldn't conversate with me much after the first month living together. He felt we already knew everything about each other. He didn't like having in-depth conversations unless he had a drink or two in him. So I am used to someone around but it being quiet.

My son wants me to get back to where I used to be. He remembers my long conversations with friends when he was growing up. He enjoys the intellectual and friendly sharing. I am really blessed that my almost 20 year old is so into hanging out with me and sharing. It is a blessing.

I have been asking: what is going right? Its really helping.

happy memorial day weekend.

I think I will start using the what's going right today to focus on the good things. My schedule is all over the place but I start my circuit workouts this week. I also bought Battlefield of the Mind because my journey is so much more than just weight loss

Kathleen - I love your outlook and different ways to look at the day! Positive attracts positive!

Worked my night shift yesterday after getting my workouts in. I came home and made some strawberry coconut overnight oats. Trying to find more ways to fit in my fiber. I am getting closer! They turned out good, but I don't think it is sweet enough for hubby.

Today, I worked the opening shift. I drug myself out of bed this morning and got in a short workout. I was tired all day, and came home to take a nap! This rainy cloudy weather is getting really depressing!

I have the day off tomorrow, so I will be grocery shopping and working in my sewing room. I need to finish more seatbelt covers, and pack up a cross body purse/electronic bag that I sold the other day. Looking forward to my happy time!

Life's going well. I need to up my exercise this week though because I haven't done my daily goal all week. It was great weather Mon and Tues but I chose 3 hour naps instead. I could sleep around the clock before that time of the month. But I did a mile and will do another on the way home in a few minutes so that's almost half way there!!

I caught myself asking internally "what's wrong with me today?" "what's wrong today?" ...then I remembered Confirmation Bias-- the theory that we always llok for something to support our thoughts. Since this is so... and I don't want to find things that are wrong and dwell on them... I decided to ask myself "what is going right today?" emoticon

I have a HABIT-- yes HABIT (out of my depressed state) to make the statement internally "I'm not happy" "I'm just not happy right now".

I'm GOING to break this!!

Those are my new goals to ask
What's going right today?
What brings me happiness?

Good for you Vickie!!

Peacelovejoy - We are always here for you to vent!! Support from Sparkfriends!

Had a good day at work. So much more enjoyable when you are busier. Looked at the newly posted schedule (she tries to post three weeks ahead), and it looks like I will be back to normal hours in two weeks. I am so excited!! I was glad to help, and I won't complain about the extra cash, but my sewing business has been neglected. I am ready to have time for me! Hopefully, she will stick around after going back to school so that we are not in this same situation in the Fall.

Did my workouts this morning before work, and eating is back on track. Feels good to be on the right track again. I was exhausted this morning - ended up getting out of bed two hours later than I wanted. But, my evening with the girls took a lot more out of me than expected along with getting up with hubby at 2:30 this morning. My body had to "catch up".

Another evening shift tomorrow, so I'll be doing my workouts in the morning! Hope everyone has a good night!

I've very proud of myself. I've been off the wagon for awhile. I have been watching what I eat and have exercised the last 3 days in a row. While my eating hasn't been perfect, it's alot better than it has been. We have a couple of things going on tomorrow after work so I'm going to try to split my workout. I may just have to do the elliptical. It's supposed to rain off and on.

Worked Friday night and a full day on Saturday. We close at 5 on Saturdays, so it's not too bad. We went to visit with friends for wine last night. Us girls shared bottles of wine, while the guys watched the race. It was a great time and was very nice to see old coworkers. We are trying to plan the next get together. Hopefully, the weather will be more cooperative so we sit outside by a fire!

Drove an hour to a GNC to pick up some fiber powder that I use. My store doesn't have any, and it can't be ordered. I think they are changing the packaging. They have been doing that to other products in the store. They had two on hand, so I bought both. That should get me through two months. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved by then! Stopped at Walmart to do my grocery shopping, then home to do laundry.

I made sweet potato gnocchi with ground turkey and a butternut squash pasta sauce. I threw in a few frozen peas for extra color. So yummy! And it was enjoyable cooking a meal for a change :)

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! It's been storming off and on here for the last 2 days.

Yesterday was Taylor's last day of high school. Just crazy!!! June 1st is graduation.

Ran a few errands today and now just watching a movie on Lifetime.

I love the show Grace and Frankie. IT is quite interesting and fun to see the dynamic. Good for you on the blog. I too struggle with depression and am on an anti depressants for major depressive disorder. Sadly the only way I seem to be able to tell that it works is when I have accidentally missed a dose and spent the whole day crying. Lately is is hard to tell wether I am just tired or feeling low. I do use talk space and she has turned me on to Brene Brown. A researcher on shame and vulnerability. She has you tube videos and books.
I am working all week end. I have started walking 15 to 20 minutes before work most days. Once that gets easier I ll increase my distance as my road is not a flat one. Anyway everyone have a good day

Kathleen - Good for you for noticing that the other shows are not good for you!! Test those new shows in unfamiliar territory!!

Been struggling with night time hunger. I get home from work just starving with hunger pains and all! Need to take a look at my meal planning and figure out how to adjust it. I seem better tonight, but not sure why.....

I work tomorrow 10-5, then going over to a friends for a wine get together. It will be nice to see some of my old coworkers from my last job. They were a great group of people!

The new girl starts at work next Thursday. It will probably be a couple of weeks before she can work on her own, but looking forward to the reprieve. I think I also heard that she may stay on for weekends after September. She plans to come home on the weekends.

Enjoy your weekend. Mine will be short!

I have been laying down daily from 4 or 5 pm until 7pm. just resting-- not sleeping. Actually avoiding life because I'm low. My son and his gf have been over the last two nights and I didn't want them to see me do this 3 days in a row (they are coming over again) so I did nap today but from noon - 3 pm. That one was needed because I did not sleep last night until 4am this morning.

I've only walked a mile today but I'm ok with that. I did 9 yesterday. And I was able to write a blog post about the habit of exercise with depression. Maybe it will help others to know they aren't alone.

SO I have a new Netflix show I'm totally into! (Usually I watch Law and Order SVU and Blue Bloods). But I decided to check out Grace and Frankie (with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen, and Sam Waterson) I LOVE it! And ya know what's odd? For the first time I noticed that the other two shows really do bring me down a bit. I never noticed that before and I've watched them over and over for years off and on. But comparing them back to back with this new show-- I notice the difference.

Hi guys! I worked am shift as caregiver after being off four days man it was exhausting. I managed to get 14000 steps working alone. Today is med tech so won't get as many and will have to get in some walks.
It seems MPotter no matter what field you are in people really do not want to work. The drama alone with the young girls at my job is enough to drive someone batty

Grand babies are so much fun! My first just turned one last week!! I had forgotten how fast they grow that first year, and enjoyed every second of watching it!

Thank you Kathleen. I really enjoyed making that shirt!

Worked the day shift today. I am in a rut. Just can't seem to get that exercise in because I want a nap....LOL And, I have the munchies. And I am hungry with my stomach growling. I need to figure out some foods that are low calorie, but help you stay full longer.

After my nap (hangs head), I worked in my sewing room. That is my happy place :) I finished up a custom seatbelt cover with some embroidery words on it. Love how it turned out! Three more items, and I'll be caught up. Hopefully, I will start getting some more dayshifts soon. It's much easier to squeeze in sewing time in the evening after work :)

The embroidery says "Days Are Precious".

Found out yesterday that my manager has decided to hire that girl anyway. Even though she is leaving in September for school, she will help ease things for the summer. And, if she likes, she could transfer to a store near school. In the meantime, we will continue to look for help. We received three applications today, but they all have their availability set for 9-5. Who requests those hours for a retail position? Rant over....

Busy day tomorrow with two workouts before work at 2:30. Hope I can get them in. I overslept this morning. Looked at the clock with 10 minutes before the alarm, woke up an hour later.... Why didn't that alarm wake me? Glad I got up in time to get ready for work!

Michelle-- t-shirt is SOOO cute

Went to the Dr. Turns out that I lost 4lbs in 6 months that I had put back on. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't more because I have increased my daily exercise. But THEN-- today I got a NSV : I got an email from SP that I crossed the 1,000 monthly minutes already. That's never happened this early in the month! So I am proud of that!!

Looks like everyone is doing well!

My experience is to plan the day before up to the last 300 calories in my range. That way, if I am hungry in the evening, I have calories to spare :)

What a crazy 6 days I have had! Bad eating and all.....LOL But, the scale only went up 1.5 - I was expecting a lot more! Back on track today and exercise tomorrow!!

Wednesday - I worked until 4:00, and came home to work on a practice shirt for Anastasia. I made an appliquťd shirt that I had never done before!

Thursday - I worked until 4:30, came home and did the actual shirt, and packed for my trip down to my daughters.

Friday - I worked until 4:00, finished packing, and headed down to Middleton for the night.

Saturday - Anastasia's birthday party, and didn't get back home until around 8:00. Hubby was up late that night throwing up :(

Sunday - Found out that hubby, my daughter, and her fiancee all got sick. Hubby was doing a little better, so I drove back to Middleton to pick up Anastasia. We didn't want her to get it!

Yesterday, Had Anastasia here until around 7. Was in bed by 10, and slept for 10 hours!!!!!!

My daughter's fiancee works at Costco, and ended up on cart duty Friday afternoon. He picked up the cooties and gave them to others. So far, I have not gotten it. But, three others have. It is a nasty stomach flu. I told Derek to wear gloves next time!!

Today, I work at 2:30 for the evening, and up early tomorrow for the morning shift. I work the next five days. I was supposed to have Thursday off, but my manager let me switch my hours so that I could have off yesterday to watch Anastasia.

Here are my pics of the shirt :)

ONEDAYATATIME41, congrats on the new grandbaby!!

NEWLIFE911, glad to see you picked yourself back up and are getting back on track. You got this!

WEEBOT, glad that you are feeling better.

We had to take our dog to the vet last night. Poor guy was limping when I got home from work. Then shaking while he was laying down. We thought it was his paw but looks like he pulled something. They gave him some medicine. He was walking so much better this morning.

Kids only have a few days left of school. They donít have to take all of their finals so neither one of them has to go to school tomorrow. Friday is their last day.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I got on last week hoping to get going, losing weight, feeling better, etc. That's not what happened. I was so good Sun-Thurs, very little cravings, felt good. Friday I woke up with a bad headache, shaky, and felt like I hadn't eating in a month. I stepped on the scale and had gained 5 lbs. UGH! Of course I did what any reasonable person would do and bought doughnuts and Oreos, went to the McDonald's drive through, bound to eat what I was craving at this point. I stayed off through yesterday. Ironically I didn't gain any more weight. I figured I probably didn't eat near enough calories and now I'm aiming for the middle of my calorie range. Before I was at the low end. I'm also trying to drink more fluids. Wish me luck, Please!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone!! Hope you all have a great day! Taylor has to work today so we are going up to her work to have lunch. I already have my meal planned out since she works at Steak n Shake. I need to scale back on my calorie intake. Also going to Walmart to get a new trash can and a couple of other things. I really want to clean out the basement. We just have so much stuff down there that we don't need. Hoping this week will be a good week to do it. It's the kids last week of school and we have nowhere we have to be in the evenings!!

Just wanted to check in and say hi. We spent hours and hours at Taylor's track meet today. I'm burnt even though I put sunscreen on. Never fails. Taylor beat her best time on the mile run. Great way to end her high school sports career.

Peace Love Joy------I hate those landslide crappy times. I think all of us have been there, just know you are not alone. Try to focus on 1 thing you can control---how you feel. I think what you need is a little relax time. Get a magazine emoticon and a your favorite fruit emoticon from the store, take a hot shower emoticon , get in your fave jammies, then go snuggle in bed for a while, and just be. Everything else can wait-----this was something it took me forever to learn and to be honest I still struggle with it---but YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!

Change is inevitable. The thing is...I hate change. This year, my children have moved out, my husband hasn't talked to me in two months, I lost a job that I loved two weeks ago. I ran over a curb and busted my tire and ruined the alignment on my vehicle; then, picked up a drywall nail in one of my other ones, Today, deer jumped out in front of me while I was walking and I fell messing up my ankle. I know that I am feeling pity for myself but sometimes I just get tired of picking myself back up.

Hi Gang!!

Happy Birthday Anastasia!! -She is such a cutie.

Kathleen--I find once and a while I need a few days rest from exercise, but then I can do more=)

I am finding much improvement in my stamina, when I have a fibromyalgia flare up I tend to be down for a long time, and start from scratch when I am better.

I started with a walk around the block a few days a week, and am now going 2 or more times a day. Last week I made it a full 30 minutes w/o stopping--but I paid for it later.

It is great to see these types of improvements, and they have nothing to do with the scale. emoticon

I tweaked my back yesterday, emoticon so I wasn't able to do more than a walk around the block once. But am feeling a bit better today, hoping my chiro will put me back together tomorrow. emoticon

On to tomorrow, have a great Thursday everyone!!!

Cheers,
Hattie

Michelle-- good for you setting boundaries at work! I hope it helps emoticon

Hattie-- my thoughts are with you -- keep hanging in there!

i took a couple days off of walking. I guess that is ok. I'm back at it today! I have been low since Saturday. Today I'm gonna complete my 5 miles, drink ALL my water, and make forward progress on my goals.

Had my grand daughter for a sleepover on Friday. Mom came up to take her home, and ended up spending the night on Saturday. Did some bumming yesterday, and they headed home around four. I haven't had my daughter sleep here in many years! It was a wonderful family filled weekend!

I talked to my manager last week about my hours. I requested that she does not schedule me for three 1:30 start times in a row. And, I don't even feel guilty about it. After looking at the schedule, I noticed that I am working 8 hour shifts and she is working 5-6 hour shifts. I understand she is working two jobs (and I feel bad about that), but that is not my fault. She is working more hours a week than me, but I feel like she should be the one putting in the longer shifts.

I work night shift today and tomorrow, then day shifts Wednesday through Friday. It's going to be busy. We are having Anastasia's birthday party on Saturday. She turns 1 tomorrow!

It's been a few days and I've been making bad choices (and failing to track any of it.... I may go back and track what I can remember). My finals are done and waiting for my scores really stresses me out. Today I am going to really start digging in when it comes to packing/cleaning for our move. I've got a lot to do within 3 1/2 weeks!

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi everyone.

Kathleen, I'm glad you are reconnecting with your son. That's awesome.

Like many of you things are still nuts here. To the point I've started job hunting, which of course is stressful in it's self.

I've been doing really well without not stress eating though and I've lost 6 pounds since regaining control. I've been working out when I can, so my clothes are starting to fit again.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Kathleen--So glad to hear that about your son!!

Vicky--How did you come out with all the rain? Our house has some seepage, but not too bad. One of the main roads to our town was closed, but hopefully it will be open tomorrow.

the last week or so has been soooo nuts! I am so glad school is almost done. I home school our daughter and we are at intense science experiments--my counters look crazy right now, except for my food prep counter, I made sure to keep that clear=)

I am also responsible for the food at girls camp for my church this June, 40 girls, 4 days, it will be fun and a challenge.

Luckily I am on track eating-wise, and fitting in walking most days, and I make sure to get yoga in at least once if not twice a week.

After the 2nd week in June life will slow down and I can enjoy the process, right now I am holding on tight, trying to get through;)

Have a great weekend all!

Cheers!

Michelle-- so glad you have time off and time with Anastasia!!! I will keep you in my prayers for energy after an exhausting week....she will want every little bit of you that you have. Children are so precious!!

I'm thrilled.. I just checked and I've done over 23 miles this week. My weekly goal is still listed as 15. And I crossed the 500 minute mark as I arrived at the library!! YAY! I have decided to change my goal from 3 or 4 miles a day (5-7 days a week) to 5 miles a day.
* I have the time
* I want to lose the weight
* I want to keep depression away with all the healthy endorphins and happy chemicals
* this is the BEST weather we will have all year for the next few weeks

NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT.
I'll keep you posted how I do.

My son is coming over today (supposedly-- its supposed to rain so he may not want to walk the mile). If he doesn't I will make his hamburgers and take them to him. I don't mind the rain since I have an umbrella. Plus I'm not sure the hamburger meat I thawed will keep another day. I know he will be over again Saturday with his cousin. His cousin drives so the rain we are gonna get tomorrow is not a factor.

I'm really enjoying waiting on him. I missed several years of doing it for him. He's kinda been on his own for a LONG time. So its a healthy place for me to be giving (rather than my abusive ex) and it treats my son's heart. that makes me glad to see him happy.

I had the opportunity to move to a smaller apartment now that its just me having to pay everything. But my son asked me to stay where I am. He would like to come over even more and sometimes spend the night in the extra room. AGAIN-- my heart melts. I was NOT asking my parents to let me visit and spend the night at that age-- no way. I was moved out, starving, but glad to be away (as I thought most teens were). having my son over and him wanting to stay over is well worth staying where I am at.

Hope everyone is having a great finish up to their work week!

Kathleen - So happy for you and your son!! That is awesome!

Been working a 1:30 to 9:15 shift the last three days. It is exhausting! I get my two workouts in right away in the morning. By the time I get my few chores done after that, I have a whole 15 minutes to relax before getting ready for work. So glad I have tomorrow off and Friday is a morning shift!

My daughter is coming up tomorrow for a visit and to do some bumming. Looking forward to seeing her and Anastasia! Then, Friday night I will have a sleepover with Anastasia. So glad I will have the weekend off!!

After finding out yesterday that they will not be hiring the girl who was interviewed, I was in a funk. I was just depressed knowing I was exhausted, and no end in sight. I know I could tell my manager that I can't do the hours anymore. But, what kind of person would I be telling her that, knowing that she is struggling financially and working two jobs? I just can't do that. All I can do is hope more candidates will apply.

I did a bit better today. I wasn't depressed. Just exhausted. I was up until midnight last night working on lunch meal prep for the rest of the week. Hoping to get a bit of a reprieve before next week!

Hope all is well!

Michelle

Hi everyone--

Life is good. My son has started texting and calling daily. He's coming over again tonight. He called to say "mom, I'm gonna be a little late tonight. If its really late I'll let myself in and wak you up so you can fix my hamburgers" LOL And I don't mind at all!! I love doing mom stuff for him because I missed several years of it.

I have walked 5 miles again today -- that makes two days in a row. I'm thinking I'm gonna make it my daily goal. # moved to 4...now I want 5. emoticon

looking for friends to connect with, get to know, and encourage each other along this journey. :-)
Blessings

Finals today and tomorrow... Eek! I will admit I did a little too much nervous munching yesterday. I feel completely unprepared. I will be happy when they are done and I can focus on moving to our new place!

Hi everybody! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Belinda, not a biggie on the challenge thread!

Well today is Taylor's 18th birthday. Hard to believe. I put the deposit down on her housing at college today.

Been a busy week at work. We got a new account and just trying to get everything up and running for it. And we have a lot of cases on the schedule, which is good! I think by Monday things should be back to normal.
