We had an ice storm last night, and it downpours around 4:30 this morning. The temps were freezing so that rain froze. It was a very treacherous drive in to work. The one road I take was pure glass! I drove 25 mph for half the drive. I left 1/2 hour early, and still made it just on time.

Been feeling pretty good this week. I think I have at least 75% of my energy back. I'm tired by the end of the day, and sleep pretty well.

Had an appointment to get my nails painted with gel polish. I haven't had it done in a while and I really like it. I have a nasty habit of picking at my cuticles, and I think twice when my nails are painted....LOL

I am having trouble getting my audit cycle count list finished in eight hours, so I plan to go in a little early tomorrow. If I don't finish it, I enter zeros. But, it bounces back a report on all the numbers that were off. My supervisor has to check on those. I don't like pushing my work onto someone else, if I can help it. I think I would rather go in early than stay later. So, we will see how I do. The overtime will be nice after a week off and car repairs too.

I called the dealership that I have my car serviced at today. I'm just floored that my bill yesterday was $344, when parts were only $97. And it was done in an hour. They charge $120 an hour for labor, and they had two guys work on it. $240 for an hours worth of work! Needless to say, I will be taking my car to a smaller garage since I don't have the warranty anymore....

Morning everyone. Sorry I've been MIA for a bit. Just not feeling the energy it takes to get myself into better shape. I know. Ridiculous right! Not really sure what is going on but all I want to do is eat :(

Finally figured out how to get my phone to work with Spark People. Shortly after that, I set it down in water that someone didn't clean up from the bathroom sink. Fried everything. Should have a new one by the end of the week.

Hope all of you are doing well. Need to take a couple of minutes to read all the post and catch up.

After sleeping the day away on Saturday, I had to run errands and weekly chores yesterday. I wasn't as exhausted so it was pretty easy going. But, noticed while we were out that my car was not heating up as it should. Checked the antifreeze when we go home, and it was empty. Hubby filled it, but I called the service center today to find out why they didn't notice it last Monday when it was in for an oil change.

Called them this morning, and they had me bring it is. The water outlet was bad and was leaking. $350 later..... Ughh.... When it rains, it pours!

Decided to make some sandwiches for lunch this week with a whole grain bread, rotisserie chicken, lettuce, and tomato. I was tired of salads and still didn't have the energy to put into cooking something.

The vet called today to tell me that Medusa's blood pressure was good. I take her back in two weeks for a recheck. She is eating really well too, so other than her eyes, she looks really strong and healthy.

Having an ice storm tonight, so plan on leaving earlier in the morning for work. I would much rather take my time so I don't feel rushed.

Have a good night!

Michelle

Jeannie, I"m so jealous you're going to Hawaii!!

It was a busy weekend for me. We had girls night at my house Friday night, went to a trivia on Saturday and went dinner at my daughter's work last night. Wednesday we finally sign the loan papers to get our kitchen redone. State Farm has a month long process we had to go through and we had to jump through lots of hoops. I don't remember doing that much work for our house loan!! Just ready to get this going and finished. We'll be stocking up on paper plates, utensils and cups soon. I need to start getting rid of stuff we don't need in the cabinets.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning all.
Got a casserole in the works today for dinner tonight.
Got my food prep done yesterday which will be helpful for the week.
We have my daughter, son in law and our 11 month old baby granddaughter coming to visit and spending the night Wednesday night, which we're so excited about.
So, making sure I will be all set to make healthy eating choices while they are here.

About to get my workout on soon, after breakfast.
Happy Monday!

Kathleen it's nice that your family is trying to be supportive in their own way.
Michelle, I hope you are feeling better.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

I did a little food prep yesterday. That should make my week go a little smoother. I have a pretty full schedule. I've been trying to avoid the fast food lane on my out of the office days.

I have a dental check up before lunch and curves after work. Such an exciting life..lol

I hope you all have a happy, healthy day!

Things are going well here in CA. I got to see my niece and her husband yesterday. I saw my deceased cousinís partner. We had dinner with my uncleís long long time old friend. Today we travel up north to Hearst Castle. I will post pics on my newsfeed during my trip.

Please pray for us though. My uncle and aunt have been together 42 years. But they have always argued!!! It is very uncomfortable for me. I didnít grow up around that óexcept around themó but not in my house. Also Iím skittish from my abusive relationships. So I have been VERY VERY tense when it is just the three of us. THey tone it to civility when others are around. But they argue about family stuff alone.

The other thing that makes me tense is that they set a plan and it never follows through that way. Like today they would like to leave by 10am. Iím thinking that will be around 2pm if at all. They may decide last minute to wait til tomorrow to get a better hotel rate. But I know even if we go it will not be when they said. Nor will we necessarily go where they said. They always make detours at the last minute, flit here, u-turn there. They have always been this way.
Yesterday we were supposed to go to breakfast and then to my parents graves.

We went to breakfast 2 hours later, then to the bank, then to my cousins house then to a car repair place, then to the tailors, then back home for a last minute business appt that never showed, then they realized a repair man was coming, then we decided to go to the beach for dinner with an old friend.

On the way to his house, they almost detoured to another business appointment without telling the friend and saying he could wait. Then got lost, then decided last minute to go on to dinner. We went to 3 different restaurants before settling on one.

I just sit in the back and keep quiet LOL.

They have a lot of interest in helping me get established but I have several issues that make that difficult. And while they have the resources, I am not comfortable asking. I never have been. So it is hard for me to speak up when they ask how they can help.

Like I need a computer to try to build a website for real not just play at it a couple hours a day on library time. I also need the paid subscription for wordpress. But my head says I should do the best I can with the free site first. Get it set up as I can at the library first. Prove what I can do. SHow them. Pitch my plan, and then ask for support.HMM maybe that is what I will tell them Iíd like to do then see what they say to that.

The website I want to buiild is a Mental Health and Welness website. WIth a multitude of resources beyond blogs... videos, listings and links to resources all over KY, then that region, then the next region...until the nation.. and then internationally. Resources would include employment, health care, prescriptions, lawyers, the police information. Just all kinds of stuff. And also with better site funding I could set up chat forums.

Anyway, I just need to get the guts to lay it out there and not be so scared they will think its foolish. I need self employment due to my mental health issues and also my record that has been severely affected when I was off medication. (See I get that in people who have mental disorders).
Ok I have babbled enough. Itís 5 am. I need to get busy because I want to walk several miles before sitting in a car possibly for 6-10 hours today.

Iíll check in as I have internet access on the road. Check my friend fee now and then for pics.

looking for friends to connect with, get to know, and encourage each other along this journey. :-)
Blessings

My girls(12 &13) and I want to go zip lining over the waterfalls of the big island...I have never been. My husband won t consider it! I have always been too heavy. Now I hope I dont chicken out.

Kathleen - Enjoy your trip in California!!

We had a nice Valentine's dinner last night after getting flowers and a beautiful butterfly plate from hubby!I chose pecan crusted walleye with twice baked potatoes, and steamed green beans. That was the first time I had eaten Walleye, but enjoyed every bite! Came home, and i was in bed by 7. Just a very exhausting week. I slept 12 1/2 hours!

Took Medusa to the vet, and her blood pressure is down and she gained some weight. Such a good visit! This appointment was just with the technician, so the vet will call me on Monday to touch base with me.

I came home, had some lunch and took a nap. Can't believe I'm still tired.... But, I guess I am still recovering from the flu. I had thought about driving down to see my daughter and Anastasia, but glad I decided not to. It's snowing, and obviously my body needs some extra rest.

Happy Saturday! It was a long week and I'm looking forward to a low key day.

Curves was closed Tues-Thurs because the owner was sick. That's the downside of this curves, she has no employees. If it becomes a regular thing I'll have to come up with a new plan.

I followed my eating plan to the letter 5 out of 7 days. I did not plan well for my out of office days. No excuses, just the reality.

I hope everyone has nice weekend.

I am glad tomorrow is Friday. It's just been an exhausting week. I'm looking forward to sleeping past 5 on Saturday morning. I have to take Medusa to the vet for a 10:00 appointment to have her blood pressure checked again, but that is 3 hours later than work....LOL

I don't seem as winded going up the later, and enthusiasm for my job seems better. I am just ready for bed by the time I get home. Today, I took a nap. There wasn't anything pressing and I took advantage of it. I forgot to take my Mucinex yesterday before work, and I seem to have more productive coughs without it. I never did have good luck with that stuff.... Called and made an appointment with my Doctor for next week. My ear is hurting again..... emoticon

Enjoy your night!

I finally got back on the bike yesterday. Need to make it a regular routine. I'll get there.

Ready for Friday night. It's girls night in. Everyone is coming over to my house and we are just going to sit around and watch a couple of movies. Saturday I get to go play at a trivia. They are so much fun!!

Happy Valentines Day! We are celebrating on Friday night after hubby gets home from his week of work out of town.

Met with a girlfriend tonight for dinner. We met at Panera, and had a half sandwich and a cup of soup. Very good. Love their food! My girlfriend's husband has just starting traveling for work, and is having a hard time. I told her it would get easier. It took me six months to adjust after hubby starting traveling. Sleeping at night is the worst, since you hear every noise. Love how we get together more often now. Miss our chats. This is the girlfriend I use to work with every day at the Printing place.

I did very little when I got home. Just threw clothes from the washer into the dryer.... Hoping I wake up better tomorrow morning. I was just exhausted today, and felt so out of it... It got better as the day went on. According to Fitbit I slept 8 hours, but......

Still struggling with energy. Overslept this morning, so rushed around this morning. My supervisor and I were both running a bit slow. He had a procedure to break up kidney stones yesterday. Took it slow again, but those four lever ladders to see parts on the higher racks really wore me out. I was looking for a chair once I got to the top.... emoticon

Ran to the post office this afternoon after work to get a Priority Mail box, only to find out they don't make one big enough for my package. I'll have to find one and mail the extra shipping cost. Came home and took a nap! I was exhausted, and had a headache....

Not as much to do this afternoon, so I will be in bed about an hour earlier. Need to get my sleep!

Hello everyone and a hug to anyone who needs one.

We are finally digging out from the latest round of snow. It was starting to get depressing.

I'm on week 3 of Curves and still liking it. I started eating Paleo again. Trying to get my allergies under control. I am my own worst enemy emoticon

I hope you are all having a great week so far.

Vicky - Trivia night sounds like it was a lot of fun!!

Siviegirl - Meal prep is the only way to go! I've been sick, so I bought a bunch of those prepackaged salads for lunch this week. Need to stay focused!

Made it through the day at work. My energy came in waves. At times, I felt ok - others so very tired. I didn't push myself, and just did what I could. Still trying to cough congestion out of my chest. Still not sure if Mucinex is helping much.....

Had to take the car in for an oil change after work today. Then, there were a few chores to do around the house. I am exhausted and headed to bed early. According to my Fitbit app, I only slept about 5 hours last night. That is about normal for Sundays, but to see it in writing....

It was nice to eat my normal healthy choices again. When I was sick, I didn't put a lot of thought into it - just whatever was easiest.

Good morning!

Today is food prep day for the next few days.
Making egg roll in a bowl, balsamic chicken and cod bites.
My honey will be home the next few days so this is a way I can keep myself on track without making bad choices because my routine is changing.

HI everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend!! Our trivia is over. It was 80s themed. We had a lot of cute table decorations and people dressing up. One of our band moms dressed up as a Kiss band member, make up and all. She looked great!! We received so many compliments on things and we made $1500 more than we did last year!!!! My goal was $6000 and we made it be $100. Now on to the next project.

Spent the day grocery shopping and washing the sheets. Time to rid the house of germs. I still feel very drained and weak, but heading back to work tomorrow. So very thankful that I do not work in production, and can sneak away for a break at my desk when needed.

Anastasia is feeling much better, and we are getting smiles again. She needs extra naps, but so much better!

Went to Walgreens today to get something for this chest like congestion. Just want to cough it out. They suggested Mucinex. I've never had good luck in the past, but I'm trying it again.

Kathleen - How exciting to have your family here from abroad!!

I think I am finally getting over the hump. Today, I just feel like I have a bad chest cold with a scratchy throat. Still not ready to do a lot, but do need to go to the grocery store for more healthier options for food.

So sad to read about the calves. My mother in law has chickens, and has a wire roof over the yard. Hawks will eat them otherwise. Just sad....

Looked into an antennae for the house yesterday, so we can watch local channels. Hubby isn't too thrilled about the old fashioned ones that get mounted on the roof. Found one that is flat that you keep in your house next to a window if necessary on special for $20 yesterday. Hoping it does the trick.

Hubby is back to his normal routine. I'm not sure if he's truly feeling better, but time will tell. He doesn't listen to his body much, and hides it pretty well. He did rest all day yesterday, so hopefully it did the trick.

Pretty cold out today, but the sun is out.

Hi everyone,
things have been quiet here. Been walking 40-60 minutes daily and volunteering 4 days a week. I put more stuff away yesterday. Its much more functional now. My aunt and uncle are in from Scotland. They want me to fly to CA to visit. I'll be looking into the tickets this weekend. One thing is for sure... if I go out to sunny southern CA I'll get a lot more exercising in since the weather is gorgeous.

Hope your families all get over this flu. People around here have it up to 10 days. YUCK

looking for friends to connect with, get to know, and encourage each other along this journey. :-)
Blessings

Hi everyone!! It's been a crazy week. After tomorrow things will go back to normal. Our band parent group is hosting a trivia night tomorrow night. I am amazed at how many tables we have and how many donations we have. So thankful for a new parent that collected about 50 items for us!! Everything's ready to go, just waiting for it to get here.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

What a week...It is a good thing that the McD's was wrapped around the building on my way home. Craving grease in a major way. It has been so long since I have eaten there I am sure it would have made me sick ....but major urge tonight.

Bluerose - did you make the starter? If so, please share. Sounds goooood!

Vicky - you're inspiring to drop the soda thing again. I'm going to try again tomorrow. Keep up it up! You can do it. My friend likes to tell me sometimes "Decide to be strong" Maybe that will help you.

good morning everyone
Iím trying to get myself motivated to do some work in the kitchen today. I am going to start a gluten free sourdough starter. And maybe cook some gluten free French macarons today as well. Thatís a lot for someone whoís been doing nothing lately. Friday is pizza Friday as well. I have orders for gluten free and diary free pizzas to make.

{{hugs}} to everyone dealing with illness. It's definitely been a rough flu/cold season.

Not much going on here. Just working, going to Curves and coming home. It's pretty boring but it's been so cold and slippery it's hard to want to do anything. I'm in a food rut too, so I need to start working on a new plan.

I hope everyone has a nice day :)

SoulToSoul, Iíll bet. I canít imagine trying to care for two children down with this nasty thing.

Iím finally getting over this cold, but I still have a deep wheezing in my lungs when I cough. I messed up yesterday and missed my doctors appointment. Luckily they were able to squeeze me in later in the day. The doctor is a bit concerned that Iím not being treated by a regular physician. Honestly I am too. But she was willing to listen to my concerns, and order the bloodwork. Sheís also agreed to review the results with me next week, and help me to better understand them Ė what they are, what the ranges I should be in, and why they are so important. I also have an appointment with my lung specialist later this month which is good. I have a deep wheezing in my chest when I cough still. Iím feeling ok, and my lungs no longer feel ďwetĒ, so Iím not overly concerned. But Iím glad thereís an appointment coming up soon. Theyíre actually wanting to do a pulomary function test that day. I donít know if the results will be any good with this wheezing. But maybe they can figure out why I have this. Iíve had deep wheezing in my lungs for years, and it gets more noticeable when I run/exercise.

And Iím still working on selling raffle tickets for the custom made photo quilt to help raise money for the food truck I want to build for my gluten free baking business. So even though Iím home, Iíve got plenty to do today.

Anyhow, hope everyone has an awesome day. Iím off to my US postal box today to pick up another quilt package. I got a good deal on it, so I ordered another one. Time for me to get building soon. lol

Spent Saturday up late with a poor Anastasia. Her fever kept spiking, and she had a nasty cough. Put Baby Vicks on her feet, back, and chest after her bath and ran the humidifier in the bedroom. Her fever would spike so high ( I didn't have a thermometer), that her skin would turn red. She refused the bath, but I would strip her down to her diaper and give Motrin and Tylenol. Tylenol didn't work, but Motrin would for awhile.

Headed down to Middleton Sunday morning, and I started feeling achy and drained. My bronchial area of my chest hurt like I had bronchitis. By 8:00 last night, I had a fever with chills.

Anastasia was eating or drinking yesterday afternoon on, so my daughter took her in to the ER last night, where she was diagnosed with a double ear infection. She was given a dose last night of antibiotics.

I went into work this morning, even though my body protested. I called my Dr but he was booked. So, I left work at noon to head to the Urgent Care. Grabbed my mask on the way in (I hate those things...), and told them my symptoms. The doctor (or whatever he is) tested me for the flu since I have aches, fever, and chills. Yup... I am a confirmed case of influenza A... Picked up my prescription for Tamiflu. I have a doctors note to be off work until Thursday. Took my first dose with dinner, hope it keeps the stomach side effects away, and pray I don't get the insomnia...

Texted my daughter about my flu, and they took Anastasia into her doctor. She does not have any ear infections. What??!!! But, because she was with me all weekend, she is considered a confirmed case of the flu by association. Mommy, Daddy, and Anastasia are all on Tamiflu.....

I am still waiting to hear the test results from the vet. I called half an hour ago, but she said the results came late. I'm sure they are busy on their late night.

Planning on spending a lot of time in bed the next couple of days.....

Michelle

Stressed.....do not allow that to become desserts! Had to do taxes and popped into a dineout with hubby...dissaster city through Saturday. *Always* pack a healthy bag for those on the go trips. By the time Sunday hit oh boy I grabbed the salad and fruits with tracker app in hand and only went to kitchen for water and dish washing. Yep punishment for allowing a AWESOME week to be SABATOGED (sp). But I will say pat on the back for sticking to 21 days of check in. emoticon Fess up time - How many made the teams their goodies and made something healthy for those watching the trackers?
Have a great day everyone and let rock this week

Wow lori, you are doing great!!

Michelle, sorry to hear about the issues with your daughter.

I am proud to say I have not had a soda since Tuesday!! Yesterday was a real struggle though. I had such a kink in my neck and my whole head just hurt. Didn't help that I had to drive 2 hours to go to Taylor's track meet. I almost got a small soda at the concession stand but my daughter talked me out of it. It's amazing how easy it is to get my water in when it's all I drink!

Goid morning everyone! I finally figured out how to get to this site on my phone :) This a major accomplishment as my desktop now takes about 15 minutes to allow me to type one or two sentences!

An accomplishment for me this past month....2888 minutes. If I am doing the math correctly, that is equivalent to 48 hours of activity! Could that possibly be correct?

Heading out to visit friends in a Spanish Congregation. Super excited...friends, food, and dancing on the agenda.

Take care all!

My daughter called the clinic this morning, and chose to wait until her appointment on Tuesday. I am very worried about her. She is sleeping a lot today, but I am sure she is weak from lack of nutrition.

Medusa had her appointment this morning. She has retinal detachment in both eyes, and a mass behind one. She has kidney disease and heart problems. We were told that years ago, but the testing for that is really expensive. But, she has a heart murmur now. Just not a good combination. They tested her eye pressure, and gave us some drops to help with the inflammation. Her blood pressure is high, so we are starting her back on those meds, but with a little higher dose. Instead of cutting those tiny pills in fours, only in half. They are testing her blood and kidney values to where she is at right now. She would have to be seen by an ophthalmologist for the mass, but I cannot miss work to take her there. And, with all the other medical problems..... She is doing good, and adapting as her sight lessens. I will get the test results on Monday afternoon. The testing is much more extensive than the last place. $400 later...... But, I would like to know exactly where she is at as far her old age health.

Michelle, sorry your daughter is still struggling. I hope they can figure out what she needs soon.

I had to pick up my granddaughter last night, so I hurried home after work. We played games and made gluten free brownies. I sent most home with her this morning and I'll take the rest to my parent's house tomorrow. Some of the family is getting together for the Big Game.

I was worried that my Curves workout wouldn't be enough, but my burning ab muscles say otherwise...lol I'm shooting for 4 days a week. I might try a 7am session before work. I'll just have to see how things are shaping up for the week.

I hope you are all have a happy, healthy weekend.

Ended up not having to work tomorrow, which worked out very well. The vet called today, and want me to bring Medusa in before Tuesday. I have an appointment tomorrow morning.

My daughter called and asked me to pick up Anastasia tonight. She passed out a couple of times today. She has been eating very little, and when she does to gets sick. She has lost 32 pounds in a month. She has battling with this for a while. But, it seems to have gotten worse since she started her antidepressants. Not sure if the condition is worsening, or if it a side effect of the meds. She was pretty weak and shaky when I saw her tonight. I can honestly say that I am very worried about her emoticon She has an appointment on Tuesday with her therapist, but she is going to call the clinic in the morning. I think Tuesday is too far away, especially if she is passing out.

Came home and fed Anastasia, gave her a bath, and put her to bed. She just makes me laugh. I took her shirt off right after dinner since it had food on it. Went to run the bath water. She is in the bathroom, and pulled her sweats down to her ankles while putting her bath toys in the water. Too funny!! emoticon

No big plans this weekend. Planning on some naps while I can!

Vicky - That is great that you are limiting your soda! That is a hard habit to break. I did that a year ago! Kudos!

Temperatures were at 6 today, but -22 with the wind chill. So very cold....

Met a friend after work yesterday. Had a good time, and the place had a skinnylicious menu. I ordered a pesto marinated chicken wrap with tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinegar, and roasted carrots and zucchini as the side. It was very good, and filled me up. Came home, did my nightly chores, made out a grocery list, and I was exhausted. Off to bed I went!

Today, I rushed to the Doctor after work for a regular check up for a medication I'm on. Then, did my weekly grocery shopping. I never seem to have the time on the weekends....

It's Thursday, and so far my stomach is behaving....LOL I'm usually everything by this time every week. I just finished my dinner with some steamed veggies, and am sitting pretty good emoticon

Medusa is doing pretty good. It's good to see her back to her old self. Here is a rare picture of her that I took the other night. She usually lays on my brown couch. She doesn't show up real good on the couch, since she is a darker cat.... emoticon

Found out today that I have work for a bit on Saturday. We are a distributor for a company, and the inventory counts on those parts are horribly off. 9 people will be there, so it shouldn't take too long.

My daughter is keeping Anastasia home this weekend, so hubby won't be babysitting :)

HI everyone!! Well I am proud to say I have not had a sip of soda since noon on Tuesday. I had a 2 liter sitting on the counter at work that I gave away yesterday. Don't need the temptation around me. Since I had no soda, I got in 10 glasses of water!!

I'm determined to get back on track. I did great with the eating during the day yesterday but had a crappy dinner. I'll get there!! Things are starting to get back to normal at work so I'm getting on the bike this afternoon.

Have a great day!!

Mary, sorry to hear of your struggles but good job on the ac1 levels!

I have been having some pain in my right abdomen. Doctor said I had gastritis and gave me some medicine for me. I need to cut out my soda which is going to really stink for me. I'm a major diet dr pepper girl so this will be a struggle. But I'm looking at this as another way to get healthier.

Last night was a long night at Jessie's school. Another band mom and I pulled all the uniforms out the basement and loaded them up to get dry cleaned. Then the band played at the basketball games. They played great and we won all 4 games for the night!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Was pretty cold this morning. Left the house for work with a temperature of 3.....

I was much more rested this morning. Amazing what a full night's sleep will do....LOL

Called the vet my vet recommended for his experience with eyes today. Medusa has an appointment next Tuesday night. She is doing better, and was even giving herself a bath tonight. I don't think she has her complete sight in that eye back, but she is at least seeing lights and shadows. Either way, she is adapting very well.

Came home and did my workout this afternoon, after telling all my excuses to go away...LOL I would have felt guilty if I had given in to those excuses, so I'm glad I walked on the treadmill.

My daughter finally had her first therapist appointment today. She said it was a hard visit, and it was hard having him tell her that she has things to work through. But, as I told her, it was a first step towards getting her old self back. She will continue on the medication she is on, and will have weekly appointments for now. He is listed in the directory as an internal medicine doctor so her insurance will cover it. Thank goodness! Otherwise, she would only be allowed one visit per month. I don't think that is enough.

Hello and hugs to those of you who are struggling this week.

Mary, definitely work the upper body while taking it easy on the lower. Look for some videos for chair exercises.

It feels good to be back on track with eating and exercise. I lost 2lbs of bloat. I can tell when I've eaten something I shouldn't by the inflammation in my fingers. Sometimes it's accidental, but most of the time it's me making bad choices. I'm trying to own it.

I've done a week of curves. I wear my fitbit and make sure to get my heartrate up during the 30 second cardio. It's my version of HIIT training LOL. The 30 minutes really does go fast.

I hope you all have a great day :)

Today is a day of ups and downs. First, I called my doctor about the results of my MRI. This is what she said. Three things wrong.
1: There is a Nondisplaced subchondral fracture of the medial tibial plateau.
2: There is a tear of the root of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus.
3: There is mild osteoarthritis within the medial compartment.

She said that I have to do toe steps and weight bearing for six weeks. So walking with crutches is what I have to do. Yuk... She said no squats or any exercising that will put pressure on my left knee. So I am still trying to figure out what I can do. I guess I can work on my upper body for the next six weeks. Do some yoga. What do you all think? That was my downer news for the day.

Now for my upper news for the day.
I went and saw my Nephrologist for my check up on my kidney's. She said with the weight I have lost so far. My A1C is perfect, my kidney functions increased by 5 points. Yay... That is a real insentive to lose even more weight. She told me I just have to stay away from salt. That's proven to be hard for me. I can do it. My next goal is 270lbs. I have 12lbs to go. I can do this.

Love and peace,
Mary

We took Anastasia home yesterday afternoon, after the snow cleared out of the area. I had some errands to run in Madison. We went to the West Towne Mall so I could shop GNC (I refuse to give the manager at the store I worked at any of my sales), and Teavana. I was heartbroken to see that Teavana (my favorite tea store) shut down sometime in the last two weeks. I loved their tea emoticon I had a coupon for GNC that had to be used in store, so I bought some supplements. I plan to order online now, to make it easier. Then, off to Staples we went. I did not find what I was looking for. I want something to carry my pen, marker, flashlight, etc... with me at work along with my clipboard. I am just struggling to find what I am looking for.

Saw hubby off at 3 this morning, and just felt awful for him. He is just miserable at work these days. There weren't many jobs on Indeed this weekend when he looked. I plan to look at a couple other ones this week.

Medusa's sight is back (at least partially). She is jumping on couches, etc... on her own again. I just don't know what to do. The tech who called me from my vet's office was very rude. If she is going to be blind, I wish she would stay blind. It's so hard to watch her go through this. She would adapt if it wouldn't go back and forth. The eye specialist they want me to go to is $200 just for a consolation. That doesn't include the possible surgery. Just too much for a 16 year old cat.... I love her dearly, but I can't go into debt for it.

Heading to bed early. Hoping to get this week back on track. Mondays are always hard since I see hubby off for the week. Always takes me a little bit to get back to sleep - usually just before my alarm goes off...LOL

Yesterday was so beautiful outside I was half expectantly looking for tulips to be popping up through the yard. Soon friends, soon!

Not sure what's happening to me. Have been doing super well. Then, on Friday, a friend of mine told me she lost 13 pounds since January 1st. Don't get me wrong. I'm super happy for her, but in my mind I'm thinking I have been at this since September 22, 2017. She has lost over half of what I have in way less time...........grrrrr!

Kathleen, I hope you are able to pull out of this. I am stuck in the down, ugly part myself right now. I know how hard it is to even want to fight your way back when you get stuck down here.

Kathleen, you got this!! Just know that we are all here for you!!

Busy weekend. Friday night and Saturday night Taylor had track meets. It was only about an hour away. We take the backroads there which is nice. No traffic!! I spent a good part of my day getting myself organized and made a list of stuff I need to do. So thankful for a new mom to our band group. She has hit up so many businesses and has gotten us a lot of donations. We'll be putting baskets together Thursday night and we'll go from there.

I think I need to decrease my blood pressure pills. Was feeling light headed today so I took my blood pressure and it was really low. Been getting those the past week. We always have to adjust the dosage once or twice a year. One of these days I will get off these darn things!!

Hope you all have a great week!!

Hello ladies,
Today I've been down. I really hope that all the days I was up... Was not just hypo mania. I really do not want to sink into depression again. It felt so good to be "up" and enjoy life... Not hate myself and be so pressured and critical of myself. Please keep me in your thoughts that I will come back up.
Thanks

I called the vet yesterday, and hubby took Medusa in. My vet was not in, but they had a relief vet there. Hubby felt that she was informative, and experienced. I always feel uncertain when not seeing our regular vet. For the last month, Medusa has had one black eye, and one cloudy foggy green eye. She believes that the foggy eye has blood or a tumor behind it. We can have it removed. They would take out the eye, remove the tumor, and sew it. She would be without that eye. I called the vet to ask questions since Hubby didn't know the answers. They will have my regular vet call me Monday. Cost is the biggest determining factor since she is 16... She seems better today. The hardest part is getting her to take that medicine again. She is so tense, that I can't open her mouth to give it to her directly. She bit me yesterday.... Today, I crushed it and put it in her food, but she isn't eating as well as normal.

Drove down to the Dells to pick up Anastasia last night. Old Navy was having a great clearance event, so I picked up a few items for Anastasia in a 2t. She'll fit into them soon enough. And I was thrilled to find out that they sell jeans with adjustable waists! Anastasia has not but, so the ones I have here fall right off of her!

My daughter seems a bit better, but her husband as her looked completely exhausted! Hope they get some sleep today. She is having trouble eating. She has been eating very little lately. She decided to try making a few smoothies a day to try and get some nutrients in her. So far so good. She was feeling very nauseous every time she ate anything.

I'm enjoying my day at home. Feeling lazy, watching kids movies with Anastasia. I did go through some old totes that had some of my grandmother's things in them. Found some beautiful dishes in there, and some silver platters and such. Those will need to be cleaned. They are very tarnished. But, it's fun :)

Heading down tomorrow to Madison to take Anastasia home, and also do a bit of shopping at a couple of places. I need some tea, and I'm looking for some office supply items for work. Walmart doesn't have what I am looking for.

~Good luck Stacy. Inches lost is a good thing, the scale will catch up eventually.
~Vicky, that's an awesome reward from your boss and you deserve it. I work for a non-profit so my only incentive is show up for work and you get a paycheck..lol
~Kathleen, congrats on the weight loss....keep at it
~Michelle, glad you're feeling better.

Hello to anyone I missed.

I went to curves again yesterday. I like it. The 30 minutes goes fast and the ladies I've met so far have been really sweet. The owner does everything herself, no employee, so the hours are a little weird. I'm going to try to go 4 days a week whenever schedules workout. Thankfully I have little flexibility on my non-meeting days.

Kathleen, way to go!! You are doing great!!

Wen, I have been thinking of trying curves too. They donated a month trial certificate to us for our band trivia we're having next month so I may bid on it. I went there about 18 years ago and did it for awhile. I just wasn't in the mind set to do it. I just need to kick my butt in gear!!

My boss gave me a nice bonus yesterday. Things have been really busy at work the last month. And we get a freight rebate from our corporate office if we meet certain guidelines. Instead of a raise, he is going to split that incentive with me. It will flucuate each month, but I'm the one that orders stuff and can really control our costs. So the better I do, the more I get!! Yeah!! That bonus came in handy yesterday. Had to replace the alternator on my car and it was outrageous.

Its a beautiful day in the 40's today. I walked 4 miles so far and I'm still feeling great. I am getting hungry though. I thought I was just going to put in 2 hours at church today but they needed me to cover the office for a meeting so I have been away from home since 9 and haven't eaten. I will be very grateful when I get home around 3.

I've lost 9 lbs in 19 days !! So excited. I think I will hit my July goal by May...even if I just lose 10lbs a month here on out!

We had our second class on prayer last night. It went very well. I am really enjoying it.

Good Luck Wen on Curves!

Woke up much better this morning. Felt like I slept pretty well, even though I had to get up an hour early. My sinus headache was gone this morning. Had a good day a work, then met a friend for a girlfriend date. We went to Applebee's and it was very nice chatting. I gave her the toys I had that Anastasia had outgrown. She just found out she is going to be a Grandma for twin girls!

Came home and did some chores around the house . I'm about ready for bed. I'm getting up 1/2 hour early tomorrow.

Thanks for the congrats. My daughter-in-law is sending regular pictures, I'm hoping we can see them again this weekend.

I decided to give curves a try. They have later evening hours mon-thurs, so if I get stuck at work until closing I can still make it in time to do my 30. The only other option between home and work is a scary gym ;)

I hope everyone is having a great week.

Went in to work early. Left an hour early, and took my time. I was there 45 minutes early, but needed to make up some time from the doctor appointment yesterday. I'll be going in an hour early tomorrow too. I'm tired, and this damp air is affecting my sinuses. Hoping a good night sleep with cure it.

Rushed to the Doctor Office this afternoon for an appointment for a medication recheck. The appointment is tomorrow.... emoticon I left work early for this one. I cancelled tomorrow's appointment, and left a message for my Doctor's nurse to call me back. I requested a later appointment that would not require me to leave early.

Busy day at work that required more thinking..... LOL Still got it done, but wears you out sometimes!

Hope all is well!

Wen, congrats on the new grandbaby. He is adorable!!!

Things are the same around here. My brother still won't get any help.

Work has been busy still. Our sales went up by 1/3 the last couple of months.

We have band tonight and I'll be packing up stuff from the school basement that we need for our trivia night in a couple of weeks.

Hi Everyone! Looks like everyone is doing well. I have been so tired lately, I haven't felt like popping on here. This job is so physical I can hardly believe it! I keep telling myself I will get used to it and just push past it, BUT BOY IS IT TOUGH!

I am supposed to go jogging with my friend but I already have in 7 miles from my job. I don't wanna go jogging :(

This morning started out in the 40's which was rather warm. As the day progressed, the wind kicked up, the temp dropped, it rained, and it snowed. I couldn't wait to finish my route. Came home and took a warm bath but my body still feels chilled to the bone.

Going to make myself clean the house soon :) Have a good nigh everyone.

Michelle-- you are looking great in that profile pic!

Weebot-- Grant is precious

I got in several miles yesterday. Today I did three which was still good. Actually that is my daily goal. I just had a reason to do more yesterday and then it propelled me to do more. Our temps are going down again tonight but by the weekend they will be up again. I am ready for Spring. I can't wait. After my friend having such difficulties with his health at such a young age (43) it really is inspiring me to do more and not waste what I have still.

Ran to Wisconsin Dells yesterday to have lunch with Anastasia's other Grandmother to chat and to have her take her home. Did some shoe shopping at the outlet mall afterwards. I was very disappointed with the shoe selection right now. I ended up with some New Balance shoes. Mine were about two years old, and needed something better for work. Came home and did our normal grocery shopping, laundry, weekly chores...

I drove to work this morning in the rain. I had to be careful on one of the backroads. With the snow on the sides of the road, the rain had no where to go. Just took it slow. By noon, we had freezing rain, and big huge fluffy snowflakes after work. The roads were just terrible. Planning on leaving early tomorrow.

Went to my endocrinologist today. Numbers are still good. Sometimes I wish she would tell me they were off.... We talked about what to do about my fatigue. Same old, same old. I might try increasing my dosage of CoQ-10.

After work, I got a haircut. I was overdue, and it is nice to pamper ourselves a bit. Bought some product for the static cling hair I seem to have these days, and some cuticle cream.

Heading to bed early. Tired, and hope to leave an hour earlier to drive safe, and make up some of the time I missed while at the Dr.

Michelle, Anastasia is getting so big and cute ;)

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't been posting, just super busy with work and grandkids. Our newest addition was born on Thursday. His name is Grant. We visited yesterday. My daughter-in-law was tired but doing well.

Confession time: I only had one real exercise session last week. I really need to make that happen. Dh is sleeping in the morning, so I can't do it then. I've been stopping to check on my mom most days after work, so by the time I get home it's not happening. I need to come up with a new plan.

Vicky - So sorry to hear about your brother ((HUGS))

Medusa is doing pretty well. Going to set up an appointment soon for her shots and a recheck. He didn't think she needed a recheck, but I will feel better.

Drove down to Portage yesterday after work to meet Anastasia's other Grandmother to pick her up for the weekend. Took her to Pizza Hut for dinner once I picked up hubby from home. By the time she had her bath, I was exhausted! Been a long week. This morning we took her out for her first sledding adventure in the backyard.... I found a used toddler sled for $10, and we put it to good use. She had a good time, and I loved watching hubby pull her around the yard watching her smiles!

Spent the rest of the day relaxing. After putting her to bed, I worked on a healthier plan for the week. I made a pasta salad last week for lunches, and it killed my calorie budget. Even worse, I came home from work starving and too tired to cook. Which means I ate whatever.... I'm sure the scale will be up tomorrow, but I know what I did and have a positive plan in place to fix it. That pasta salad recipe was thrown in the garbage.....

Vicky-- so sorry for your brother. As you may or may not know from my notes on here about now and then drinking... I used to be a full blown alcoholic for many years. I have been to treatment several times. The reality is that until he can come off the alcohol completely for at least a week or two...he is unable to think clear. His sense are clouded and not firing correctly. Its very sad. I've had many friends die of addictions. I will keep your family in my prayers. oh-- if he does get help-- have him eat broccoli. It helps speed up the healing of the liver...just a freebie emoticon

Michelle--Poor Medusa, my furry friends get in their preferences and its hard to change them. I'm so glad your daughter is going to get a referral. As for school -- good for her!!

Today its sunny and gorgeous and COLD !!!!! So glad I had a ride to volunteer again this morning. I ended up staying longer than normal today but it was really enjoyable. Tonight I have a manual I am working on. Stay warm everybody

Hi everyone! Been a rough few days in my neck of the woods. My brother has been having some health issues for awhile. He didn't tell anyone how bad they were until a few days ago. His pancreas is giving out due to his 20 plus years of heavy drinking. HIs liver and kidneys will fail after that. He said the doctor told him he had about 2 years left. He is in a lot of pain and his drinking has become worse. If he would just quit drinking he would have a chance. He has just given up. I just don't get it. He hasn't told his kids yet. He won't listen to anyone. My poor mom is just devastated. I just want to kick his butt!

Sorry, rant over. This really wants me to get my health back on track. I plan on hopping on the bike this afternoon at work and get a walk in while Jessie is at drum lessons this afternoon.

Kathleen - Glad you found a hobby you are excited about!

It's supposed to start warming up towards 30 degrees tomorrow. It would be nice if it stuck around for a while. We are taking Anastasia sledding this weekend. It may be just us pulling her around the yard, but she has never been. I found a used toddler sled for $10, and is still in pretty good shape. Just the stickers are a little faded.

My daughter is finally getting in to see a Dr for her depression. All doctors are booked and she has been fighting to get an appointment. She sees a primary doctor on Monday who will refer her. It's about time! In the meantime, she has decided to go back to school for nursing. So happy for her!

Haven't been sleeping too soundly the last few days. Hopefully, I get over this slump. Last night was better than Monday night, but still....

Stopped by the vet on the way home to pick up some wet cat food for Medusa. Now that she has been diagnosed with kidney disease, she is on a special diet. I have always fed wet along with dry food. She is still getting used to the wet food. She keeps looking at me looking for the "old' stuff.....LOL

I won't be here as long as I thought. It's a quiet day at the church with roads in town pretty bad. We've cancelled or Wednesday night dinner and classes so I'll be going home at, 4:30. I'm super excited. After catching up with a dear friend I have passion again for an interest we shared. I'm going to re engage in it. This is an answer to my prayers for a hobby or career I could be passionate about.
Stay warm

There were a couple inches of snow and cold temps today so I did not volunteer. I'll go in all day tomorrow. I'll be staying all day. Someone will pick me up so I don't have to walk in the snow and get wet. I have class tomorrow night there so I will get home around 8 pm. Long day. But I love church and my family there. I will walk in the church gym tomorrow. Today I just danced around the house for exercise lol.

I heard on the radio yesterday that the flu has officially become an epidemic. Just scary when you think of all the nasty strains out there!

I met a friend for an early dinner after work today. It was very nice chatting and catching up. I don't do that too often so I enjoyed it very much.

Ate a bit more today than I have been even though it brought me over calories. I have been starving the last couple of days. Think my body wanted some replenishment after what it got rid of last Thursday night.....LOL Just made sure it was healthy replenishment :)

We had snow last night and a little this morning. I was very disappointed this morning to see how little they cleaned up the roads last night. I just made it to work on time... But, the were much better tonight. I am ready for summer.....

Ended up all night with the gastric flu on Thursday night. Went to work until 10:00, and came home. I slept most of the day Friday and Saturday. Woke up yesterday feeling great! Of course, I was behind on things that needed to be done for the weekend.... I think I got too much rest over the weekend because I only slept about three hours last night, but still had lots of energy. I'm losing my zip now, so it will be an early night.

We took our Christmas decor down yesterday before heading out for our errands. We usually like to take them down New Year's weekend, but just didn't seem to find the time.

I'm still loving my job, and I'm finding my niche :)

Hello everyone. It's still cold and snowy here. I need some sun.

I'm slowly getting back into my exercise routines. I really got off track in December with everything we had going on. I am trying to be more intentional.

I hope everyone's year is off to a good start.

HI everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend. I made some headway with our trivia donations this weekend. I got at least 4 gift cards donated to us. Trying to get round sponsors still but we'll get there.

Been slacking on the exercise this week and I got off track with my eating. Ugh. I will try again tomorrow.

Michelle-- so sorry for your friend's loss. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers as he rebuilds his life.

Lori-- the prayer class went well. I had printed some informational thoughts about prayer and we discussed whether we agreed, disagreed based on our experience and understanding of Scripture.
Next week we'll be discussing 2 chapters in our book : Prayer: Finding the Heart's True home by Richard J. Foster. These 2 chapters are on *) simple prayer and *) Prayer of the Forsaken
There are 21 chapters on different types of prayer. I'll keep ou posted on how it goes.

Now for a funny:

MPOTTTER22 - Sorry to hear about your friends home. That's terrible. I was watching the news yesterday and this man said that he had just returned to his home after all the wildfires in CA. Only been back inside for a couple of days when it got demolished by a mudslide. So tragedies happening world wide :(

HFUFSTETLER - I'm curious as to what a prayer class is? How did it go?

H1SCHSENONE - Thanks for the water tip. I am drinking at least 78oz of water a day. I got these before really bad and I can't remember what caused them to go away?

Going for a cup of coffee. Take care everyone!
