Good morning, everybody. I didn't exercise yesterday -- first I put it off until the afternoon, and then I got sucked into a conversation that lasted most of the time window I had set aside for a brisk walk. I was beating myself up about it, especially since I hadn't seen results on the scale in a while. Turns out I must have needed a rest day, because I was down 2 lbs when I woke up this morning. Today I did a morning walk/jog and pushed myself a bit farther to make up for the missed day. Feeling back on track for now.
Best wishes to all!

VICKYLYLES sounds like you致e got a busy weekend ahead of you. I hope the weather stays nice for you. I need to check what it値l be like here on Saturday. It痴 going to be a busy one for me too.

Michelle, enjoy your anniversary trip.

My hubby and I booked a trip before I lost my job. Now we池e debating where we値l cut back on it. We are still going. It took some convincing, but I think we need this time away together.
Saturday is a farmers market, then I知 loading up the two vehicles to start moving my stuff back to Estevan. So today and tomorrow I知 baking all day to prepare for the market.
Time for me to take my vitamins and get ready to go for my walk today. Hope you all have a fantastic day today.

KK, I've been wondering where you've been!!

I finally got to go to bed early last night. Jessie has been working or at band every night for the last week and I can't go to sleep until she gets home. Glad she was off last night.

Saturday will be a busy day. Taylor has a meet at 9 then I'm hauling butt to Jessie's band competition. We'll be there til about 6. I'm hoping Sunday I can get some junk cleaned out of my basement. I've been meaning to do a little at a time, but just haven't had the motivation to get it done.

Hope everyone has a great day. It's going to be gorgeous weather here today!

Woke up today very tired and exhausted, and my legs were very sore. I must have done a lot of squatting last night working with lower shelves. Think my exhaustion is more body tired. It was an easier night tonight, and plan to get to bed soon. One more day of work, and we go on our Anniversary trip. Looking forward to some peace, quiet, and quality time :)

Eating has been pretty decent. Hope to start walking next week after our trip. I'm sure we will get some walks in there as well :)

Thanks for sharing your story PEACELOVEANDJOY. It has helped me to see that there are times that life is difficult and there痴 really nothing we can do about it. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I know you値l be okay too. It just sucks being stuck in the middle of this trauma. I知 looking forward to getting past it.

Wen, I知 hoping to find something that is a better fit for me as well. I hope you enjoyed your day with your feet up. We need those.

I hope everyone is busy in a good way this week. The weather is starting to change here. We usually have snow before Halloween, so I知 sure it won稚 be long now. I知 still plugging away walking every day and applying for work.

Sounds like everyone is busy :)

Michelle, that's too bad that your work environment isn't more supportive. Good luck in your job search.

Work has been hopping for me, so it's making my days go quickly. We are having nice temps so far this week, so I've gotten in a couple of lunch walks. I'm going to miss those this winter. It's not the cold that keeps me inside as much as the slippery sidewalks.

I hope you all have a healthy, happy day!

Had a pretty good day today. This cold has zapped some energy, so I am not ready for my walks yet. But, I was pretty productive this morning setting up medical payment arrangements, paying bills, etc....

At work, I helped with the store reset. You know, when the store moves everything around on you? LOL.... I was so busy, my shift flew!

My manager is still looking for other work. I have decided that I will not take her position, if offered to me. I have seen how the regional manager treats her. I am not going to put myself in her position. My emotional personality would not be able to take it. I'd be in tears every night. I will stay until she leaves. Then, I will look for another job. I love working with my manager. We work so well together :)

Hi Team. Hope all are doing well. I haven't forgotten about ya. And no I didn't fall off the wagon. Just had to take a break from SP before I got booted. Was sick to death of a particular "Sparky" so I opted to walk away for a bit before I exploded. I've managed to maintain within 5# fluctuation after plateauing with only 11# til goal. Determined to get these last few #s off before the holiday season. I'm still getting my 100 minutes a day in but think I need to bump it up to reach the finish line. Will get back in on the FitMin challenge next month. Have a great week Team.

Had a great visit in Ohio, but too short. Everyone loved Anastasia. Who wouldn't? Here is a picture of her playing with her 2nd cousins, Aiden and Emilie. They are 7 and 4.

Last week, after all that windshield time and babysitting Anastasia until noon on Wednesday, I was just exhausted. I worked long shifts on Thursday and Friday. 7 1/2 hours on Saturday was a breeze! Woke up yesterday with a sore throat and some congestion. I'm sure it is from the change in weather and my body being wore down. Thankfully, I am not any worse this morning. I'll take that as just a mild cold. Keep it that way. Hubby and I are going to Door County this weekend for our anniversary trip.

Haven't really ate that great lately, but not "real" horrible. Scale has stayed the same. Hope to feel up to some exercise later this week. Tonight is hiring the keyboard. First time posting on the laptop since before Ohio!

It's cold here as well. I'm having a hard time getting out from the covers this morning.

My best friend had a Gremlin car when we were kids. It was her very first car and we loved that thing. Hers was gold with plaid covered seats.

We had the 3 grand kids all weekend, plus our 2 sons and daughter were here. My husband decided he wanted to take out all the wood shelves and benches he built in the basement when we first moved here (like almost 20 years ago). My house is in complete shambles and there is dust particles floating around everywhere. It has been a rough weekend to say the least.

Off to walk the track now. Make it a great day!

My plans of finishing my errands were changed. My husband helped my daughter pick up her husband's old 1972 Gremlin to bring up here. So, I had to rush home after work. Love her dearly, but now my only day off will be running.....

I plan to make a beet kale salad for lunches this week. Hope I have time! Will try and catch up later!

Wow. What a change in weather we have here. Yesterday was 90 and today isn't even going to reach 60. Perfect weather to go walking in. But I need to get a couple of boxes of junk out of the basement. we just have way too much stuff down there. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hi everyone! We had a good day today. Taylor has a cross country meet. She came in 5th on her team. Not sure how she placed overall, there were a lot of people there. It was too hot though and about 3 girls had to have medical attention. And that was just the serious ones. Taylor ended up with a huge blister on the back of her heal.

Then we went to Fast Eddies for lunch with my parents and husband. I'd never been there before and the food was awesome. Things are better with my husband. Still have issues but I don't see that changing.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Katrina, sorry about the job. I'm sure your emotions are bouncing all over the place. Hoping this turns out to be a blessing in disguise and you find something even better.

Peace, great attitude about your job.

Michelle, if I sent my husband to the store for any of the grandkids we'd be broke...lol I'll bet she'll love the ice cream cart.

I had my 7yo granddaughter this morning. We put up some Halloween decorations, played games and baked Halloween sugar cookies. I ate a couple and sent the rest home with her and her mom.

Now that I am sufficiently worn out, I'm just going to kick my feet up and watch tv. I have a long to do list for tomorrow.

Ended up working 9 1/2 hours yesterday due to my manager remembering her start time wrong. I was exhausted, and did my Aldi's shopping afterwards. Tonight is Walmart, Copps, and Piggly Wiggly. The new budget is being executed, and I plan to do everything I can to abide by it. Some prices were still better at Aldi's :) I plan to finish my shopping tonight, so I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow. I'm finally feeling more energy, but need a day to recover.

Hubby went shopping today for Anastasia all by himself. He saw something in the Fleet Farm toy catalog, and showed me last night. They only had 2, so I'm glad he went the day Toy Land opened. It is cute - a play ice cream cart!

Making bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast for dinner tonight Then, spending some quality time with hubby :)

BLUEROSE73 - Sorry to hear about your job. It is a little unsettling. I've been doing contract work for the past 3 years. Three months here, a year there, and six months somewhere else. I was enjoying this type of work, different people, learning new things, etc. However, I started working for this company that lead me to believe I was such a good worker they were going to hire me on full time. This excited me as it was a high paying job and I enjoyed it. Plus, I'm getting older and would like to have some stability.

About a month ago, my boss asked to speak with me. She was crying as she let me go. Gave me an excellent letter of reference but said there was nothing she could do and it was out of her hands. I found out recently they gave my position to a young niece of the president of the company. They couldn't find anywhere else to put her. I was totally twisted at first but now I'm going to use this time to finally get this weight off and spend it with my family. I have accepted it and have totally been enjoying this time off. You will be ok, of this I am confident :)

Cleaning out the basement today. Just took a break as I am exhausted and super dirty all ready. I've only completed 1/4 of it!

Make it a great weekend all!

Sorry but I'm a bit of a downer right now. I lost my job on Wednesday. I'm actually coping quite well all things considered, but its still too fresh.

I need to walk one more day to get all my steps in for a step bet I joined. This has helped me get out of bed an out for a walk daily these past couple of days. It has helped clear my head and help me feel better.

I'm still not eating much - stomach is too unsettled. Yesterday was a bit better though, so I'm sure I'll be back on track soon.

Good evening everyone. Hope all is well in your world. I was challenged by some FitBit friends to get the most daily steps today. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but I think I beat them. I have almost 20,000 and the night is almost over where I live.

One of my friends brought me over a huge pan of apple crisp with some vanilla bean ice cream. You know that almost threw me into convulsions. I did good though. I scooped out a small 1/4 cup serving of both crisp and ice cream and promptly gave the rest to my neighbors that have 4 kids :)

Well, it's good night for me. See you tomorrow.

Long nine hour shift today. Still trying to recuperate from the trip. I usually don't work more than 8, but I had to shift some hours around. My daughter and her husband both worked Wednesday morning, and it just made sense for me to keep Anastasia one more night. So I need to work two nine hour shifts to make up the time. Especially, since we still don't have another employee....

Had a decent day at work. Stayed busy with my cleaning. Slowed down around 3, so I made out my grocery list, and looked at the sales flyers. Lots of pork on sale.

Tomorrow, I get off at 6:15. Think I'll make some chicken for dinner. Hope everyone is doing well!

Marz- Have you tried chewing gum?

Had an nice morning with Anastasia. Mommy drove up after work, and brought us Subway. I opted for the Carved Turkey Salad.

Work was good, but I'm exhausted from the drive yesterday. Fed the cats, scooped litter boxes, tracked tomorrow's food, and prepped my lunch box. I'm off to bed. Starting at 9:30 tomorrow.

Hi All,
I'm having one of those days where I keep wandering into the kitchen for some mindless snacking even though I've eaten breakfast and lunch and I know I'm not *really* hungry. I haven't actually taken any extra food... I just turn myself around and come back to my desk, but then I find myself standing in front of the open fridge again. Annoying. At least I'm drinking lots of water, because once I'm in the kitchen it makes sense to pour myself a glass.
I have not exercised yet today. Planning on taking a walk in the neighborhood when I drop my kid at karate class later this afternoon.
I hope you're all doing well today.

xo,
marz

Hi everyone! Sounds like everyone is doing great!

I still can't get the motivation to go walking this week. I'm going to a meeting at school tonight. I may try to hit the elliptical for a little bit when I get home. I just need to make myself do it.

Good evening everyone! Hope all is well in your world.

Worked out for 1 1/2 hours tonight. Came home and made veggie burgers. I have to say smelling them reminded me of baling hay when I was a little girl. I was scared of them and all I kept thinking was, "Where's the beef?" In all honesty, they were quite good :)

Welp, it's bedtime for me..........goodnight all.

Hi All, Got through the travel weekend without messing up, tracked my food and stayed within calorie limits every day. One day I treated myself to a piece of fruit pie that was a local specialty. For one dinner, we chose a particular Italian restaurant because they listed on their menu that they would substitute spaghetti squash for pasta. That worked out great. Saturday I swam 20 minutes of laps in the hotel pool (after walking around a museum all day), and Sunday I used the treadmill to do a couch-to-5K walk/jog podcast. I made the mistake of weighing myself in the fitness room and it showed I was up 3 pounds, which was very discouraging. When I got home, though, I was the same as when I left, so maybe it was just a different scale, or different time of day, whatever. Anyway, back to routine this week, and I'm off to do the grocery shopping.
Best wishes to all!

-Michelle, I'm glad you are having a nice visit.
-Peace, a lot of things can affect the number on the scale. Just put that thing away and keep working on being healthy.
-Vicky, I hope things are going okay for you this week.
-Kathleen, did you start the new job?
-Xomarz, how are things going?
Hello to anyone I missed.

I took yesterday off to get my eyes dilated and then did some shopping with my mom. I cooked a chicken when I got home so no excuses not to make lunches the next couple days.

We had a couple warm days but it's supposed to cool off again. I am planning a lunch walk today. More for my mental health than my physical health :)

I hope you all have a great day!

Don't rely on that scale alone. You may be losing inches, which is much more important!

Had a nice day running a few errands, but on a normal schedule. Anastasia needed that. Tomorrow morning, I see my nephew before he gets on the bus. Then, it's shower and packing to get on the road. It's been a wonderful visit, and hope to come back in April!

Today is Monday and I got on that stupid scale. Gained two more pounds. Tell me how I get anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 steps a day, watch my calories and gain? This is making no sense to me at all. I put that stupid scale in the back bedroom closet. It's not coming out again for two weeks - 10/23/17. I've been on this rodeo before and I know how to lose weight, more calories burned than eaten. Pretty simple formula, but something for me this time isn't working. UGH! UGH! UGH!

Ok, my rant is over. Thanks for indulging me :)

Enjoyed our day yesterday. We took the kids to the Cincinnati Zoo. Anastasia was able to feed the giraffe. So funny to see her reaction. The giraffe took her leaf, and she jumped back. Think she thought it was going to eat her! We were only there a few hours, before the rain came in.

She fell in love with her cousin's play kitchen set, and the magnet alphabet on the refrigerator. Fun times! Little more low key today. Kids go back to school today.

Glad to hear you're having a good time Michelle!

Not a lot going on here this week. The only thing I have to do is take Jessie to the chiropractor tomorrow after work. She either has band or works all week. I have no excuse to get my walking in.

Arrived in Ohio safely around 6 last night. Anastasia was such a trooper! She never cried at all - until I put her in the car this morning... Guess she wasn't ready for that yet!

Spent this morning at a kids consignment shop looking for shoes for Anastasia. Mom forgot to pack socks or shoes... I walked out with a lot more than shoes.... Tonight, we went to my nephew's baseball game. Glad it was only an hour. Anastasia was pretty tired and bored after about 45 minutes. She's had a very exciting few days!

My niece and nephew love Anastasia, and I have a few good pictures of them playing together. Tomorrow morning, we hope to go to the Cincinnati Zoo :)

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Thanks for all the words of encouragement. Things haven't gotten better. My husband and I haven't said a word to each other since Monday. But I think it's the most peace I've had in a long time. Still browsing for a place. It just sucks how expensive places are.

I haven't exercised since last Saturday. I plan on getting back on the wagon in the morning. I just need to kick my butt in gear.

TGIF Everyone!
I have gotten through the stress triggers of the past 24 hours (medical procedure, IEP meeting) without relying on comfort food therapy. My next challenge is traveling over the 3-day weekend. I will try to make good choices, but mostly, I want to commit to not being too hard on myself if I need to make a few compromises. No matter what, back on track Tuesday.

Cheers to all.

Happy Friday! I have a 3 day weekend again and I need it. "Those people" are getting on my nerves...lol

Peace, sounds like a good plan to get back on the wagon. I've not only fallen off, but I've been run over a few times.

I didn't get a lot of steps yesterday because I had to drive 30 minutes each way to sit in meetings. It happens the 1st Thursday of the month, so at least it was expected. I was going to walk when I got home, but I had a killer headache.

I'm looking forward to a quiet evening of catching up on things at home. I need to see what is playing at the movie theatre this weekend. My hubby asked me if I wanted to go on a date tomorrow. That was sweet.

I hope you all have a nice day.

I'm so glad I logged in today and read YOUR post. Definitely encouraged me.

MPOTTER22 - Too bad you won't be closer to me on your trip :( There is a great park in the Lebanon, OH area. I think it was called Colonial Park West? It had really pretty trails. I used to recruit for a factory in that area.

WEEBOT - I like that you said you were going to track your calories even on the days you go over. I struggle with this and don't do it as well. You are right though, we can't hide from ourselves.

XOMARZ - Congrats on the 3 week challenge. You should be proud of yourself and take this as a win!

VICKYLYLES - Sorry you and your hubby aren't getting along so well right now. I understand this all too well. I have been with mine for over 31 years now. It's just now starting to go well with us. Choose wisely my friend and don't allow this patch to deter you on your goals that you have been striving and accomplishing!

Well, going to services soon and then going to go to the gym afterwards. I have eaten badly for two days and not worked out. Well....you all know what that means. Yes, a weight gain :( Going to knock it back off tonight!

A little rain here, and has been sprinkling here and there. Looks like a rainy weekend here and in Ohio. Guess we will have to find some indoor activities.

Slept so much better last night! Love waking up energetic!!

Don't think I will be checking in again until tomorrow night or so. I'll finish packing tonight, and spend a little time with hubby before I leave for the weekend. He comes home and I leave....Lol

Meeting my daughter in Waunakee to get Anastasia in the morning, then seven hours of driving

Vicky - so sorry to hear you are having trouble with your husband. ((HUGS))

Went to bed with the windows open last night. The cool air caused some nasal congestion, enough to wake me up several times last night. Pretty tired today, and a very slow day at work.
My original plan was to start packing tonight. I decided to go to bed early tonight and pack tomorrow. Good thing I didn't have any extra cash. I would have had a burger from McDonalds! Yep! I'm tired and craving those carbs....LOL

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't checked in the last few days. Been in kind of a funk and need to kick myself out of it. My husband has been such a jerk lately (more so than normal). I have been browsing places for rent for me and the kids. Everything is so expensive! I did find the perfect place right next door to the school but they rented it to someone else.

I have parent teacher conferences with 2 of Jessie's teachers tonight. Then I plan on going walking when I'm done since Jessie will be at work by the time I get done.

marz-congrats on finishing the challenge. I'm an emotional eater too, so I understand the struggle. It's good that you are planning ahead.

michelle, I have a few of those projects that haunt me..lol I currently have a crocheted shawl that I need to finish.

Vicky, Kathleen, Peaceloveandjoy and anyone else I missed. I hope your week is going well.

I'm checking in on my lunch break. I decided walking in the rain was not a good idea with my sinuses already pounding.

I'm getting back to tracking even on the days I go over on calories. No sense trying to hide from myself. Gotta get back to work :/

I completed the 21-day new member challenge. I am glad to be three weeks into this journey, even if I find it a daily struggle. I am focusing on my goal and the small steps toward achieving it. I have lost 6 pounds so far. Upcoming challenges include a somewhat invasive medical procedure tomorrow and an IEP meeting for my son Friday, both of which will trigger emotional eating (I will not give in), and a Columbus weekend trip with my family, with a moderate amount of activity, but also a large number of restaurant meals. I will do my best to log in and track calories using the mobile app.
Best wishes to all!

Woke up tired this morning. I think my lack of sleep Sunday night caught up with me. Finishing up laundry tonight, and got a walk in. Need to work on my cross stitch. This project is getting very frustrating. I've been working on it for a few years on and off. I call it my Growth Chart from %&@#. I've made a lot of mistakes on placement, etc.... Took it to work today so I could rip out the last mistake. Need to figure out my starting point tonight. I've never had so many problems with a cross stitch project. I just want it finished.....

Getting low on leftovers. Will have to cook next weekend when I am home. Have a good evening!

Peaceloveandjoy - I will be 90 minutes from you. That's a bit too far. I'm visiting the Lebanon, OH area.

Kathleen - So happy to hear of your job!

Was very tired last night, but didn't fall asleep for quite a while. Hubby left for work at 3 this morning, and took me at least an hour to fall back asleep. Surprisingly, I woke up great. I must have had enough sleep over the weekend!

Opened the windows today to air out the house while at work. Don't know how many more days we will have to do that!

Had a good day at work. Love my day shifts! Working on laundry and breakfast meal prep tonight. I would like to start some packing tomorrow.

MPOTTER22 - I live in Bellefontaine, OH. What area are you going to be visiting? Maybe if close, we could meet up for a workout of some sort?

VICKYLYLES - Good job on the walking! I'm struggling to do it tonight. It's not over yet, I just have to make myself which is proving to be a challenge.

WEEBOT - Lots of my friends are sick here as well. Keeping your immune system happy is a must right now!

KHUFSTETLER - Congratulations on the job! My Sister is affected with Bipolar/ Schizo effective disorder. She is going back to work full time this week and I am freaking out! Everytime she goes back to work, she messes up her health insurance and medications which causes her to have a break down and I am left to get her better again. I have advised her not to do this full time but she said they told her she could without messing up anything. I'm so worried :(

Well..........I must get going if I am going to manage to be productive this day. Make it a good one!

I had the weekend off, and decided to step back from the computer. Hubby was home, and we enjoyed some quality time. We knew we needed to take advantage of it since I will be in Ohio next weekend, and I work the following.

Went to Olive Garden in Wausau last night for dinner to use a gift certificate we had received last Christmas. Afterwards, we browsed the bargain tables at Barnes &Noble. Came home with a couple, and thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Made chicken nachos for dinner tonight, worked on a new financial budget, and did laundry today. Pretty productive, and breathing better with the new budget in place.

Working day shift Monday through Thursday this week. It will be nice to have a normal schedule!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Marz, that sounds like too little calories. I would play with your calories a little more or ask your doctor what they recommend.

Weebot, sounds like you had fun!

Kathleen, that's great news!!

I've been getting some good walking in the last few days. I just need to keep getting them in.

Kathleen, that is great news!!

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I did a Step-Up for Down Syndrome walk and then walked around several stores with my mom. We got plenty of steps in and the weather was perfect.

A lot of people have been getting some kind of virus in our area and just when they think are better the fever comes back. I've been lucky so far. It's been a reminder thought to make sure I'm eating properly to keep the immune system as healthy as possible.

I'm tired so I'm taking the rest of the evening off. I have plenty to do tomorrow.
Have a great evening everyone :)

AHHH... feels like home loggin in here again.

I had a good time in CA despite the reason for going. And when I got back to my volunteer position I got a real "possibility" of GREAT news. The Treasurer and Office Manager need to alter ( a bit of) what they cover between each other to balance their time. So they asked me if I would be willing to be paid for up to 20 hours a week doing what I do now for free and learning another project too. They were concerned about my medical and disability. But it all falls way under what I am allowed before jeopardizing my coverage. -- so Ladies-- I might actually be financially independent and stable soon!! I am THRILLED.

As for exercise....my son kicked me out of my house today to do some because I slacked off recently. I do adore him for his support though.

have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

looking for friends to connect with, get to know, and encourage each other along this journey. :-)

I got my walk in early today, 4.8 miles. After two weeks, I am noticing that if I stick to the nutrition guidelines, I don't lose weight. I think that my last diet (super low cal Medifast) wreaked havoc on my metabolism. I have finally budged the needle by pushing myself to exercise at least 1 hour every day for the last week and keeping my calories under 1000. Another pound came off. Staying under a thousand calories feel super restrictive, though, and I'm not likely to be able to maintain that level of discipline for the long journey.
Anyone else managing to feel satisfied with their meals in the 800-1000 daily calorie range?

Marz, you are more than welcome to do all the challenges if you like.

Michelle, Kentucky is about a 4 hour drive. It looks like I am going now after all. Jessie has decided they are not going to do all the pictures for homecoming. I'll just have my husband take a few pictures. It will be a long day of driving!! I plan on getting there early enough so I can get a walk in once I'm there.

I got a halfway decent walk in last night. Just wish I would have started earlier so I could have walked longer. I don't like walking in the dark.

Good morning/Afternoon all!

Yes so glad that fall is deciding to arrive. Again I don't like winter but I do like the cooler temps. I am hoping to get a little more outside walks especially since my girls like them. I don't burn as much but it gets them moving and away from screen time.

I was also a member of curves years ago. I didn't feel that their circuit was intense enough for me. Of course, it has probably changed. But, those hours wouldn't work for me either.

Vickie - You live close to Kentucky? My sister lives in Ohio, half an hour from the border :)

I moving slow this morning. Had a long day yesterday with an early morning appointment, and a closing shift for work. Working the same shift today, so I allowed myself to regroup.

Went in to work to see the schedule posted for the next few weeks. It is official. I am going to Lebanon, OH with Anastasia. So exited!

Enjoying the cooler temps. I love the warm weather, but that humidity is awful. Slept with the windows open last night. It was wonderful!

Weebot, I was a member at Curves about 18 years ago. I didn't last long there. I agree there's not enough flexibility there. It made it really hard too that the didn't have childcare. Taylor was just a baby then.

We are finally getting fall temperatures here. I have no excuse not to go walking. I really just need to get my butt out of bed a 1/2 hour earlier and get some time in before work.

I'll have more time on Saturday to get stuff done. I was planning on going to Kentucky to watch Taylors cross country race but they changed their start time. I wouldn't make it back in time to take pictures for Jessie's homecoming.

Happy hump day and hugs to anyone who needs one.

Vicky it's way to easy to fall into the crap trap. Happens to me more often than I care to admit.

It was in the 80s yesterday and a bit humid, but there was a slight breeze, so I took a lunch walk. I briefly spoke with the woman who owns the Curves gym down the street from my work. She just happened to be outside while I was walking. She's not open on weekends, hours are 7-5, but closes for lunch, and charges $34/month. It was a nice chat but if I were to do a gym membership, I'd need more flexibility.

Temps are finally starting to drop into the normal range. So I can increase my outdoor walking. I'm thinking about going to work 20 minutes early and taking a pre-work walk a few days a week.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy day emoticon

Sorry to hear you're having issues Peace.

I've eaten like such crap the last 2 days and I feel it. Need to kick myself in the butt and get back on track today. Got a plan for my exercise this week, just need to get my meals planned.

Hi Everyone and welcome back :0

This morning at 4:23AM, I wet our bed. This seems to be happening to me at least every 3 months, much to my husband's displeasure. I know my bladder is changing, but usually if I go to the bathroom right before bed, I'm safe; apparently not this time.

I decided after I got everything cleaned up and sanitized I might as well go for a walk before the 91 degrees kicks in. I asked my sister to accompany me. We had just completed 6 miles. She had to stop at the state park because she said she couldn't make it back to my car. Scared me to death leaving her. Thankfully, when I got back to her with my car she was ok.

Need to make myself go paint the trim for one of our bedrooms. I feel like this day should be done already! Make it count my team members!

Sorry I've been lazy about checking in. Had to take Jessie to the doctor after I got home from work on Friday. Thought she had a uti but was a little dehydrated. Then we went shopping for homecoming. She won't wear a dress so she got a pair of pants and a nice shirt.

Spent most of the day at a band competition yesterday. Jessie's band got 2nd place!! They played so well. It was 95 degrees yesterday so we had a few overheated kids. Got home from that and went to Oktoberfest with a bunch of band parents. We had a blast. I really don't get out and cut loose as often as I should.

Easy week up until Friday. We have the homecoming parade and football game. I'm "working" from home that day so I can go sell tshirts at lunch and watch the parade. The band performs before the game so I'm hoping to get out of there early. I just need someone to take over the tshirt sales. Taylor has a cross country meet in Kentucky on Saturday morning and I'm hoping to drive up Friday night. I have to drive back after her race to get back for Jessie's homecoming.

I did end up leaving work early on Friday. It was a much needed break.
Peace, 20,000 steps is a lot. Good for you.

I got out yesterday and walked a couple miles before it got too hot. I plan on doing the same this morning. This is supposed to be our last day of 90 degree temps. It's weird being this hot in late September.

I'm going to back to a mostly Paleo diet again due to my allergies. I need to get my gut healthy and I have a ton of food sensitivities and allergies. I'm going to look more at the AIP (auto-immune protocol I think is what it stands for). I have an unspecified auto-immune issue which is the cause of my weird rashes and IBS symptoms. Anywhoo, time to retake control.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend :)

Planes, trains and automobiles was the very first movie my husband and I went to see O' so many years ago! Hope you had a good time at the museum!

I got almost 20,000 steps in tonight. I don't know how, but I did it! Also, decided to do the obstacle course/ playground at the park tonight. I was swinging on ropes, climbing up stairs, going down ramps, and my personal favorite.....getting stuck in the plastic tunnels! At first, I didn't think I could get through them. Then, I was so sweaty I couldn't get up it. Serious workout for sure.

Hope all of you are doing ok and sticking to the course. Make it a great weekend!

Had a rough night. Been waking up at 3 am, and takes me two hours to get back to sleep. So.... I was slow moving this morning. Hubby ended up staying out of town an extra day for a work meeting. So, he got home five minutes before I left for work.

Shoulder blade area still hurts a bit. Sitting makes it worse. Trying to concentrate on posture. I have an appointment on Tuesday.

Pretty warm here today, but no complaints here. We know what is coming!!

Wen I hope you don't have to go back to work

Michelle - I do hope your shoulder pain goes away soon.

I have the WEC for the BLC that I will be doing my best to complete. I am still in a bit of a funk. I have a busy Saturday scheduled. It's national museum day this SAturday and I have tickets to get in free to any National museum so I am taking my girls to the Museum of Transportation to see trains, planes and automobiles! Then a picnic in the park for my oldest daughter's job.
Have a great weekend!

So disappointed in myself. Went to HuHot for dinner last night and did INCREDIBLY well at the buffet: lean meats, veggies, and measured my sauces. But my family ordered a plate of crab rangoons and they were sitting RIGHT THERE in front of me for the whole meal, and so I ate one... just one. Got home, added it to my tracker and... WHO KNEW that it would be over 200 calories for just one stinkin' Crab Rangoon??!? Totally blew my dinner calories. Not worth it.

Stephanie, my head finally quit hurting, but I didn't get a lot of walking in. I've been having wicked allergies lately too.

Michelle, I hope you can get some relief from the shoulder pain.

Peaceloveandjoy, good job with the steps and I hope you got some sleep.

Happy Friday everyone :)

Devsangel1, Welcome back. A lot of us are in the same fall down and pick up ourselves back up group. As long as you don't stop trying you are succeeding. Good luck to your son. It's sounds like he is ready to spread his wings and that sure is hard on a mom.

We've had a lot of call ins at work this week due to illness, so I've been hopping every direction. It makes the day go by fast, but I sure am tired when I get home. I've had a few too many high calorie, high caffeine drinks this week.

I am hoping I can leave early today. I have a hair appointment at 12:30, so the plan is not to return to work. However I have to wait and see how many calls in I have. I really need to figure out a time to take a walk. Hopefully, it won't be as hot today.

Hi Spark Team,

I can't believe it is 12:15am and I am just sitting down. Shew doggy! I did manage to get my steps in. This is now 5 days in a row :)

Devsangel1 - Welcome back! Speaking from experience, it's not about how many times you fail but that we continue to get back up. Sorry you are stressed about your son. They have to make their own choices in life as well, and we have to let them unfortunately.

MPOTTER - I hope you enjoyed your day off!

Hi all. Thought I would check in. I have been AWOL for quite a while, and I am hoping that I can get myself in gear this time, without so much depression at not succeeding. I am up quite a bit in weight, but I am learning to deal with this in smaller doses now, and not overwhelm myself. At least I hope I will. I am going to be on here a whole lot more, and I need all the encouragement I can get. I don't have any physical friends that I can share things with, so I feel like this is a good place to start for that extra boost. My life is super stressed out right now. My 25 year old high functioning autistic son, has bought himself a one way ticket to Norway. He is leaving in less than two weeks now. He is going over there with no where to stay, no friends over there, and not sure of when he will come back. My heart is breaking in a million pieces. I just don't know what to do. Either way, I have to pray for his protection, and still focus on making myself better.

Here's to many changes in my life.

There is no tomorrow if I don't live today!!

Today is my day off and I am moving slow.... I've been having some pain in my right shoulder blade for a few months. It had gone away for a few weeks, but it is back. Pain is very uncomfortable and I usually need to take Advil. I think it is time to have it checked out.....

My agenda today is grocery shopping and going to my yarn shop. Going to enjoy it!

It's Friday Jr. ! Have a good one!

Wen - I hope you feel better and get some steps in later. I know my headache is soda and allergies. The weather going back and forth cool and then hot. I was just speaking about how I needed to up date my glasses and get bifocals as I need them to read when I have my glasses on instead of two pairs of glasses on my head! LOL

Michelle - Thank you for the information. I have made the egg muffins in the muffin tins but more like frittatas I will make it and then put on english muffin with meat and cheese.

HI everyone and hugs to anyone who needs one.

I've had a headache since yesterday. Not sure if it's allergies, eye strain, or the crud that is going around. I have meetings today or I'd probably just stay home. I do need to make an eye appointment. I'm overdue for new glasses and I live in them.

Because of the headache and the heat, I didn't get all my steps yesterday. Today will be hard too because I'll either be in meetings or in the car. I'll try to get out this evening, for a slow walk if the weather cooperates.

Stephanie, I didn't use a recipe. I cooked one egg beat with 1 tbsp milk and cooked in a greased muffin tin. Cook 20-25 minutes at 350. Place on English muffin and top with meat of your choice and a slice of cheese.

Here is a little motivation that I am using today-- hope someone else can relate

I'm getting nervous (HA! I've been nervous lol) about my flight tomorrow. I love to fly so that isn't it. Just what will happen when I land. Oh well -- there are more important things to focus on out there over the weekend than my son not coming. Anyone who stays upset on that may just be using it as something to focus on rather than their grief. I just have to keep that in mind and let the water roll off my back like a duck.

Its 82 here today. I have a group tonight until 7:30pm. That will be a perfect time to get out and walk-- sun going down, cool air settling in.

I so want to take a nap since they gave me the rest of today off at volunteering. But once I take a nap-- I want to take one the next day at the same time. That won't work...omgoodness... but all the yawning tomorrow from refusing to sleep in the afternoon would help with my eardrums for take off and landing.

HA I have just come up with another original excuse to relax and be lazy lol. BUT I will not do it. I like that I am staying up 17 hours a day lately rather than only 12. no guilt/ a little pride/ extra productivity= feels good.

looking for friends to connect with, get to know, and encourage each other along this journey. :-)
Blessings
~Kathleen

Thank you Michelle for your words. I thought I was scaling back with only walking but I know once I get on the treadmill I try to go as fast as I can. emoticon

mmmm the homemade egg mcmuffins sounds good. I need to throw something different with more protein myself in the mornings. Did you post a recipe?

If your workouts are discouraging, try backing down a bit until your body adjusts. Some exercise is better than none.

Had a good day yesterday. I was happy to be back at work and normal routines. Glad I have three weeks before the next trip. Took my walk last night after work, and plan to do the same today since my schedule is the same. It works as long as I don't open the next day. I think my homemade egg mcmuffins are a good choice. They have helped me bump up my protein, so I don't need my protein shake :) Now, if I could up my fiber. That one is a hard one....

Taking a chicken breast to work for dinner, so I plan to cook up a carrot and potato to go with it. Leftovers are getting slim. Guess I better cook this weekend...LOL

I haven't been focused this past week. My workouts last week were so hard to get through I let it discourage me working out. I need to get MOtivated again. I hope everyone is doing well.

Have a good rest of week.

Hi everyone. Thanks for your condolences. Yes, that family has it pretty rough right now.

It sounds like all of you are doing well :) Today was a long day. At 10:30PM I did not have my 10,000 steps in. That twisted me into all kinds of knots! Decided to go to a well lit walking track even though I would be there by myself. I made it around one time and that was all. I could not believe how scared I was! Decided to go to Walmart and walk around the perimeter of the store. I MADE MY 10,000 AND THEN SOME!

Well still need to log my food. Goodnight SP'ers.

Peace, so sorry to hear of those losses. I can't imagine what they are going through.

Pookie, you have been through a lot but you got this!

It's a slow week for me in the evenings (yeah!!). I drove up to the park to go walking last night since we were supposed to have hit and miss rain. As soon as I got there it started sprinkling. I came so close to going home but thought hey why not just do this! There were a lot of other people walking/running too. I got in a little over 3 miles before the thunder started. So glad I did it! Got another great walk in tonight.

And I'm proud to say I put on a tank top and a sports bra that I haven't work in awhile since they were too tight!!! Yeah me!!

Working the afternoon/evening shift today. Nice way to get back into the week. Hubby left this morning for work. I had planned on working out this morning, but woke up with a headache. I'll get a walk in after work.

Working on some meal prep this morning - homemade egg mcmuffins for breakfast and tuna salad sandwiches for lunch. Easy peasy.

Starting my list for my next trip. I am driving to Ohio with Anastasia for Columbus Day weekend to see my sister. They have never met Anastasia. And Daddy wants to quit smoking that weekend. It's probably best that she doesn't see Daddy angry and irritable.... I am looking forward to some sister time!

Oh my gosh, I have missed so much. I have let life get in the way again.

I am so sorry to hear about the double loss. My heart just breaks.

I was doing so well on this diet and then I got the flu, I was in bed for 2 weeks with fever, chills, coughing the whole nine yards. I just started feeling better and we got hurricane Irma.

I have to say if my mother in law had not been here to help I don't know if I could have done it, we had to pack everything up, go somewhere else, I am in a flood zone. Then after the storm, thank goodness we didn't get it like we were supposed to, we came home an unpacked and cleaned up. What a mess.

I am back at this. There are so many things that interrupt our life and our habits but I don't want that to be the way. I went to the gynecologist today and all he could say is "wow, you really gained some weight" DUH, I know I am fat and I KNOW I need to do something about it.

I am re-committing before I gain 10 more pounds.

You are all amazing and I see how much everyone has been through and yet you keep on fighting. I am going to do the same!!

xoxo

Today can be the best day of your life...

That is just awful!!! My heart is just breaking....

Kathleen - Hope you are able to get a refund. I know some airlines give you credit for future trips.

Enjoyed our trip this weekend. Organizing things with my daughter is always a challenge...LOL We got through it, made some decisions for next year. We will see if it works out. Our hotel was very nice and was very kid friendly. We enjoyed walking through town for the Fall Festival and craft show too. Unfortunately, Derek was not able to go. He came down on Friday, and we took my daughter and Anastasia home yesterday. Spent today being lazy and unproductive. We did manage to pick up a few groceries for the week, and get hubby his gas. Tonight's dinner is pancakes and turkey sausage.

Thought I would share a photo from Saturday. It was so hot, we kept pouring water over her head!

My friend and neighbor has dementia. Her husband has been taking care of her. Four days ago, he passed away. Their daughter came in from AZ to figure out arrangements and what to do with her Mother. Once the daughter got here, her husband back in AZ drowned. My heart and mind is heavy as I try to comprehend so much loss!

I'm trippin :(

Kathleen, way to get the walking in!

Weebot, way to get those steps in!

Not much going on here today. I actually have a pretty easy week. Hoping it's not raining later so I can get a good walk in tonight. My goal is to get caught up on my exercise minutes this week, especially since Jessie will either be at work or at band practice. We have another competition this Saturday and I'll get plenty of walking in that day!

Thank you for the condolences

Weebot-- GOOD FOR YOU on the step challenges and goal for yourself. I stepped back down a bit from 5 miles a day to 3. I am doing that consistently again so next week I'll be able to raise it with almost certainty of success. I had been hit or miss with the 5 miles. I need to build up some resolve again and I have.

Vicky-- It sounds like a great weekend for everyone in your family. Congrats to your kids! That is wonderful.

Michelle-- how was your family reunion? It sounds like a fantastic thing to still be doing. Many families do not do that anymore. I hope you had a fantastic time.

Well I'm off to see if I can get a refund on my son's ticket. He just told me that he cannot go to CA on Thursday. The tickets were bought Saturday. I do not know if there was a cancellation availability purchased or not. I just stayed calm. He is beating himself up over it. I didn't need to add to it. And besides there are bigger issues to tend to with Susan's passing. Life is life .. its just a nother time to roll with it.

We are in the 80's today. I got in 2.5 miles so far and have to go to the pharmacy today -- that's another mile round trip. Anything later in the evening will be icing on the cake.
Have a blessed week.

Hugs Kathleen, I'm glad you are figuring out away to visit with your family.
Vicky, glad the band did well.
Michelle, I hope you enjoyed your weekend.
Happy Monday everyone.

I joined a couple fitbit challenges this week to help me get off my butt and move. My goal is to not to be last...lol I've been hitting 10,000 steps at least 5 days a week. It's time to up my personal goal to 12.000.

We picked up some groceries yesterday. So I have no excuse not to take healthy lunches to work. I have lunch plans on Thursday, but I will be packing lunch the other 4 days. It's necessary for both my hips and my budget ;)

Kathleen so sorry to hear about your cousin and your uncle.

Taylor had a cross country meet this morning. It was 4 hours away and my other daughter had a band competition. Thankfully my parents went down there. My nephew lives down close to there so they went to see him too. She did a 6k in 21 minutes. Very good!!

The band competition was good today. They got 3rd place. We competed with some really tough bands. My daughter and 2 other kids got overheated but everyone is ok now.

I'm exhausted!! I was supposed to go out with my husband tonight but I'm just too tired. I plan on sleeping in tomorrow and going on a walk before it rains.

I'm hoping to catch up with all of you by Monday...perhaps late tonight. My cousin died recently and its become highly important that I go across country to attend the funeral. My Uncle lives in Scotland and made the yearly trip here to see my cousin. He is 84 and himself has had cancer for a few years. This may be my last chance to get to see him. He cried on the phone with me yesterday. That is when I changed my mind from "I really don't want to" to " I MUST go this is terribly important". Anyway I have been back and forth with the relatives in CA and online trying to find tickets that are feasible.

Our weather here is in the 80's again up from a week or so of the 60's. I miss the cooler weather but love the sun! I will go for a walk later at sunset when it has cooled a bit.

Hope you are all well... I will read up tonight.

Sounds like fun Michelle!

There's a football game at our school tonight. The band plays during those games. Then we have a band competition tomorrow. It's going to be hot tomorrow too. And there's quite a walking distance hauling equipment from where we set up to where the field is. Will definitely get my steps in though!! I love competitions. They are so much fun and we have a great group of parents that hang out too.

I'm a little worried about our city this weekend. I live just outside of St. Louis and the verdict of the police officer is supposed to be released today. I'm praying for minimal destruction and for the safety of our police officers and national guard.

I work a short four hour shift this morning. Then, we are headed to the Wisconsin Dells for the What Zha Wa festival. It's a family get together every year. This year, we'll have 22 of us at the same hotel. Looking forward to some family fun!!

Not much sleep last night, but too much on my mind for packing. I'll sleep good tonight.

Have a good weekend!

Michelle

Stephanie, I hope your 2yo is feeling better and you got some rest.

Thanks Vicky, I would have hated the winter driving for that job anyway. We get a lot of lake effect snow and ice.

I took another walk on my break yesterday and then stopped at my parents and walked some more. I got 15,000 steps in. My feet were a little sore though because I was not wearing walking shoes for most of them.

Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend?

Hope your 2 yo feels better and you don't end up getting it too.

Weebot, sorry about the job. So glad you were able to get some walk ins!

I have slacked on my exercise this week. I have something going on every night this week and just haven't gotten my act together to get it done. My plan is to either get on the elliptical or go for a walk when I get home this afternoon.

Hey! I am SO tired this morning. My 2 yo DD2 woke up at 2am throwing up and I am working on 2 maybe 3 hours of sleep.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Hi everyone.

We have a tight budget here too. Dh's income fluctuates and goes down in the winter.

I did not get the job I interviewed for. I would have turned it down anyway, the driving would have been too much. Things have been a little better at my work this week. I was able to get out for walks 2 of 3 days, so that's been great. I'm working on leaving early a couple days to make up for the days I work extra.

Not much else happening in my little corner of the world. I'm kind of enjoying that :)

Hello!

I am slacking! It's hard to chatting up several teams I forget to post somewhere. I am doing the BLC and I didn't have a loss this week but at least I didn't have a gain.

Trying to get a good routine working out and life, dinner, baths, playtime. Last night I got on the treadmill and burned the chicken in the oven really thought I had the time. So yup it was blackened chicken for dinner!

Michelle - your grand daughter is so cute! I hope this get better. Money is tight my way too. Trying to eat healthier and I am trying to work things out with my girls Dad and he eats A LOT. my grocery bill has doubled!

Not many to catch up with but running out of time my break is over.

Stephanie J.

Peaceloveandjoy - You did it, and sore muscles are signs that you are doing something right!

Legs are still pretty weak. Tried to walk yesterday at a slower pace, and quit after 20 minutes. I'm taking today off from exercise. I've never had a sinus infection affect my strength like this before. Frustrating....

Went to work last night, and explained to my manager what my needs were and my timeline. It was slow last night, so I worked on a budget. I've never really followed a budget, even though I know I should. I don't need to get a full time job for us to make it. I will take the manager position if offered, but I don't need to look for a new job if it isn't. That is great news, because I really do love my job :) Now, to get caught up......

Today is another late day. Originally, I was scheduled for this morning. But, I asked her to change it yesterday. Working two turnaround shifts in one week is just too hard.

Good evening SP Team,

After walking 1/2 on the treadmill last night and doing 1/2 on the blazin elliptical machine, I found myself not able to move properly this morning. I made myself walk two laps around the track before service. It was excruciating! Just made myself do two more tonight. So, all my steps are in for today but barely.

Vicky - you could always play laser tag with them and then you could eat a few of those goodies that will be there :)

Weebot - put that stupid scale in the garage. I gave mine to my husband and told him to not let me have it but every two weeks. I hope that helps me.

Here's to posting two days in a row! See you tomorrow.

Peace, signing in helps me with accountability too.

Michelle, glad you are feeling a little better.

Going to Brunswick after Jessie's doctor appt this afternoon. Checking out what they have to offer for a lock in for graduation. They have bowling, laser tag and arcade. I don't really want to go but I'm in charge of the lock in so I feel I have to. At least it will only be 1/2 hour. I just need to resist the food they will have out.

And they don't need my help at band practice tonight so I'll have plenty of time to get my walking in!!
