Paul that is awesome! It's amazing how much our attitude changes with this. I know I'm so much happier and I don't let things get to me as much anymore!

Paul that is awesome! Great job. I find it is all about attitude too! Keep up the good work.

Kate - I'm not really a football fan but happy for you being happy! I am a hockey fan an cannot wait for the season to start.....go Pens!!

2nd day of school went off without a hitch. Bus was on time, I got to work on time. So far so good. I am so glad it is Friday. This week at work has been stressful and I am so looking forward to a three day weekend. Not sure what I am doing yet - but I won't be working - LOL.

Have a great weekend if I don't "talk" to you in the mean time!

Today has been a good day for me. I had lunch with my wife and mother. I went shopping with my wife and daughter. After that came home and made dinner.
During all of this I was able to track everything I had to eat or drink. I am really feeling good about myself this time around. Even my wife has noticed a change in my attitude and how I am really getting into Spark People.

It's hard for me to think about anything else since about 10:25 this a.m. when Judge Berman ruled Tom Brady FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having a great day, connected w/ a friend via phone, cleaned the house & am enjoying all the commentary about my beloved #12, but probably won't get anything done for the rest of today, unless you count listening to how awesome the decision of Judge Berman was & what this means for the New England Patriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Debbie: Hope the afternoon runs a smoother...wishing a great year of learning to your student emoticon

Hi there. Today was the first day of school for my BF's 10 year old. The bus was scheduled to be there at 7:39 AM. By 8:05 it was not there so my BF drove her to school. Got a call from the bus driver at 8:20 to say he was in front of the house to pick her up. So it was not a great start to the first day but at least she is there!

Kate: I love Swedish fish - I would take them over chocolate any day. Great job passing them up!

Nessa: Wow what a great working out - keep up the good work!

Chell: Congrats on your graduating. Good luck on the job hunt. Stay positive!

HI! Girl Scouts was fun last night. Next week they are going to the park to make a video for one of the girls who is sick (in the hospital). They usually only meet the first and third Tuesday of the month. Funny thing is my bf went to get the correct number - he got it in green but it was a different color green than the rest of the numbers. I put it on any way. One of her friends had the same thing - so they must have made all the 3's in a different color green. I laughed and told her they can be unique together!

Today there is a huge tub of popcorn (caramel, cheese and butter) that everyone is eating and saying they cannot stop eating it....I am proud to say I had NONE!!! Yeah me. Work out at lunch was good.

Talk to you soon,

Debbie

Sounds like everyone is doing a great job even with your ever growing busy schedules. Tonight is the first night of Girl Scouts for my boyfriend's daughter. Her first year as a Junior. I was putting the stuff on her vest last night and we bought a brown number instead of a green one - UGH -- have to get that returned and ironed on real quick tonight before the meeting. Never a dull moment!

Started my new job which is great! I love it. However, I haven't had a 8am to 5pm schedule in a very, very long time. Definitely going to take some adjustments on my part to get my exercise in. Seems like the day is done and over by the time I get home and get everything and everyone taken care of. I didn't get to work out until 9:00pm, but I WORKED OUT!

See you tomorrow.........

Happy Monday! First day back to work after my lovely vacation. I definitely enjoyed my time off. I went on a walk/run this evening and ended up doing 5.06 miles. I'm feeling great but should be heading to bed soon. Have a great night everyone.

KATESCAPE - Way to go on the green smoothie. I have to get back to the green smoothies as well. They gave me so much energy.

ONEDOGLVR Paint night sounds like it was fun. Way to go on the walking on the treadmill.

VICKYLYLES Im glad you had a great weekend.

PAULLYWAULLY Welcome back to the team. Great job on tracking your breakfast.

We head out on vacation Friday morning for 10 days, so I've been busy with lots of preparations. Spent the day yesterday printing information for our trip - altered maps (we use a GPS), attractions we want to go see, addresses, etc... Also updated the GPS, put mail on hold, called the bank to be sure our debit card would not get cut off. I think we are all set except for packing on Thursday afternoon. I hope to get some lists made so I don't forget anything.

Kate, sounds like you had a great time! I'm exhausted just reading about all the things you got to do. Don't be so hard on yourself, we all have times where life gets in the way. My suggestion to you would be to bring some healthy snacks and limit your portions on the "bad" food. I always have to stop myself from getting a second helping. It's so hard!!

Hi Team~ Well, I feel like I need to do a walk of shame here, let me explain. I made a commitment when I returned here that I would check in everyday. (I missed 3 days of check in). Yes, I was super busy & out of the house almost every minute of every day since Friday. I pulled an all nighter which means I stayed up all day Friday, so from 10 pm on Thursday- Friday at 10 pm...didn't want to lose a beautiful day. I went to the beach with friends, then DH & I went back to the beach for dinner, a spectacular sunset & a glorious moon rise...it was breath taking. Saturday morning started early, 7 am and went late 9 pm...all day boating in the bay with friends...lots of swimming, snorkeling & jumping of the boat into the most refreshing water. Needless to say I got great sleep both nights, but Sunday always proves to be a busy day so the cycle of fun continued to the softball field until late afternoon. Truth be told, as I type, I probably could have squeezed in some time on the computer to stop by yesterday evening...but I was/am exhausted! Working every other weekend, I feel obligated to jam pack my time and then as a result get very little rest..today I am resting & going to the doctors. emoticon emoticon

I also did not make sound food choices this weekend and realize now more than ever how bad my addiction is. I started each day right (green smoothie-think I blogged the recipe one time...it's quite yummy), but the temptations of the "good time" atmosphere" really hurts me. Any suggestions? I don't want to seclude myself from family & friend activities/get togethers....what can I do? emoticon emoticon emoticon again emoticon

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I loved my stuffed tomato meal and plan on mixing more up for lunch. I have two tomatoes left, so all I needed was to pick up another can of tuna while we were out yesterday!

I finally weighed myself this morning after three weeks. Don't seem to be home on Sunday mornings much for weigh in with all my busy weekends! I gained three pounds. 1 pound a week doesn't seem all that bad. I must be making good choices most of the time...Lol

Finishing up preparations today to get ready for our Vermont vacation. We leave Friday morning. I will be making lists of everything that needs to be packed, along with drinks and snacks to pack into the cooler. That way I can still have my fruit :)

Hoping to find some other quick meals this week that don't take a lot of planning. I really don't want to buy a lot groceries since we leave Friday. We will have to do some searching later today.

Where is everyone today? It's been a great weekend here so far. Cross country meet, band playing at the football game and a big garage sale fundraiser today. I'm beat! Hubby and I are kid free tonight so we went out to dinner and now time to sit in my jammies and watch tv.

ONEDOGLVR, I'm glad you had a great time. I did that for the first time last weekend. I was nervous because I'm not creative at all but it was so much fun! And way to go on the treadmill!

HI! I had a great time at Paint Nite last night - my painting is not that great but I had a super fun time.

I have been walking on the treadmill everyday at work (5 days a week) for 25 minutes a day. I feel good and look forward to it every day!

Everyone is doing a great job. Keep up the good work!

Bought myself a new Vivofit 2 from Garmin and it works really well. I have a record of reaching my goal for 8 days but I think it will end tonight. It is so smoky here. You don't only smell it you can taste it to. I will try and do a walking DVD I have to get something done.

Awesome job on the walk/run Nessagirl! Keep it up.

Last night I used deep breathing to get through the afternoon/evening munchies - 3 TIMES!!! But it worked. I woke up this morning and was so happy I had made it through without eating more than I needed to. :)

Keep Smiling

Hi all!

I just signed up for the 30 day small step challenge. Day 1 is telling someone about your goals! I have been getting that out a little more. I have it all spelled out in my blog www.healthythewowway.blogspot.com. I also sent out a message on FB that I needed someone to be accountable to. I had so many responses that I started a FB page that is secret. It helps a lot. I love this group and spark people, but since I don't know any of you personally, I won't run into you at the store, or at church, etc so I feel if I just slip away no one will either notice or no one will know any other way to get a hold of me to see what is up :) So I have this group and now my Facebook group also. Loving the motivation I'm feeling. Happy humpday everyone. Make it the day you want it to be! emoticon

Keep Smiling
Debbie

Hope everyone had a great start to their week! My daughter has her first cross country meet today. Can't wait to go watch her run. I'm so thankful it's at a school not too far from my work. I'll be sneaking out of here a few minutes early.

Happy Monday! I had a busy weekend too. Friday was a baseball game (ate before we left so no food temptation there), Saturday was a friends daughter's wedding (had yummy chicken, carrots and potato - gave one piece of chicken away - and a small piece of cake - can't go to a wedding and not have cake). Did some dancing to work off the food and had a great time. Sunday was the water park. Did some walking, sliding, swimming and lots of relaxing....a little too much sun though - I am red and sore! (ugh). But all and all it was a great weekend. I'm sluggish this morning and just trying to make it to lunch for my workout!

Talk to you soon,

Debbie

Happy Monday! I am down three pounds this week. I'm super excited! I've been dealing with perimenopause since last year. I'm not sure if anyone has experienced this yet. The hot flashes and monthly cycles all over the board lately. I still do not let it get me down. The weight has been fluctuating up and down no matter how I've been eating or exercising and the doctor says it's quite normal.

I have a recommendation for everyone! Someone on another team introduced this Pod Cast to our team: Primal Potential the Anti-Diet Solution for Mastering Fat Loss Naturally. Please if you get a chance to check it out do so. There is some great information which helped me a lot.

I am going to focus on taking care of me this week while I'm on vacation. I read one book so far and that's amazing. I'm relaxing and taking it easy.

Have a great day everyone and keep pushing.

KATESCAPE - Way to go! That is the successful way to do it. Plan your meals. It works every time.

VICKYLYLES - Wow you definitely had a very busy weekend. Way to go.

SANDY1380 - Wow Sandy those pancakes sound delicious. Way to go.

Making Monday work! That's my attitude today and it's paying off. I have already made 3 various salads for lunches & dinners for the week ahead! My short list of fill-ins needed at the grocery shop is all set & my meal plan in place for the week. Having a plan of attack is my sure fire way to stay the course!

Vicky: You sure had a busy weekend..hope the fundraisers were super successful!! emoticon

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I did. We had 2 fundraisers going on this weekend, 1 for each kid. We had parking lot duty for the festival down on the riverfront for the band for my youngest and a golf tourney for the basketball team for my other daughter. We had girls night last night. We went to a place where you paint. Not sure how popular it is around the country but it is becoming quite popular here. My painting didn't turn out half bad!

Today was an even better day. I went grocery shopping and my hubby and youngest went and bought me a new laptop!!! I really needed one. My other one was barely working and it took forever to get on the internet. I'm so glad! Went for a great walk this afternoon. Loving this fall like weather we are having!!!

The last few days: Friday(friend's party), Saturday (golf tournament/cookout) & last night at work(a co-workers b-day celebration)...I have had so many food temptations. I can honestly say I passed them all, but my will power was tested and since then I feel like I could explode. I am constantly thinking about poor food choices now. emoticon

I know it's not a physical drive/need to eat(I am eating great nutritious foods), but a comfort request to numb. I'm not an alcoholic, but a food addict and some days are just tougher than others. I do hope today & this weekend you all have beat your battle against the addiction. emoticon

Today a quick nap after working all night & them went to DH softball game(they won)... emoticon emoticon

Tonight relaxing with DH...watching Big Brother and mentally preparing for the work week ahead!

Morning well not much going on here just relaxing. Figure I stopped by and say emoticon
I am waiting for the laundry to finish and for the boys to come home and my other daughter. Made pancakes from scratch this morning and they came out great. I never new just how easy it was to make them. They were a big hit with the girls and hubby. Didn't workout this weekend but instead I cleaned the house and moved furniture around. I did workout during the week so that good. Time to work on new goals for the week. Will post them later on in the day. Better go check on these clothes. Hope everyone is enjoy their Sunday...

I am new here. Actually had joined years ago under another email, but I am back with a new drive. I am getting married in October 2016 and really want to be the woman I was when we met. I have recently started a job that is more active so I hope that helps. I have a fitness tracker to help motivate my steps. Every time I want to make a bad choice I keep reminding myself of the wedding.

Late in day check in for me...but count me as here. I played hookie from work last night: so that meant today, I could attend a 17th annual golf tournament for charity. I walked the course, it was a hot one, but it felt great to get out & move. Probably not 5 miles( GO Nessa) , but it's a start in the right direction. Hope Nessa & Sparkzy enjoy vacation! I'm exhausted now, so I'm headed to bed before work tonight....

I ran 2 1/2 miles and walked 3 miles which was a total of 5 miles. I'm feeling awesome. We are all enjoying some reading time and relaxing for the rest of today. Have a great day everyone!

I agree with the TGIF KATESCAPE! This is my last day of work for two weeks and I am looking forward to some much needed vacation time. We are going to do some camping, visit some family and hopefully just do a lot of relaxing! I know I will be trying to keep up with exercise while I am off. Hopefully the eating will not get out of hand.... emoticon

Happy Friday!!! Hope everyone is having a good day. My boyfriend is feeling better - thank you!

I went a little over my calories on Thursday night because my boyfriend was working so I took his daughter (10 years old) out for dinner. It was nice just the two of us out for dinner. We had a good time.

I have a wedding to go to on Saturday and then going to relax at the water park on Sunday. It will be busy but fun!

Talk to you soon!

Good morning! Hope everyone is having a good day. They are calling for LOTS of rain here today. Looks nice out there right now but I'm sure it is coming. My boyfriend is sick and not a good patient. He's driving me crazy and of course will not go to the doctor. He has a fever and upset stomach. I told him to drink water, take the ibuprofen, rest and I would see him when I get home. I told him if he gets worse to go to the medi center but I know he won't. GRRR! '

Ok - that's enough of that venting. I'm doing good with my walking and eating. I'm feeling good and back on track!

Talk to you soon!

Hello everyone!!
It has been a while since I have posted anything.....I was just reading and catching up. I haven't been as faithful about posting and checking in or as faithful in sticking to my meal plan. I am going on holidays in a couple of days so I won't be able to check in but starting back in September I am going to make a renewed attempt at getting some more lbs off!!
I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all of you and your posts. Every time I come here I am inspired again by all the positive posts and helpful comments =) Thank you all and I will be back soon!

Happy Wednesday everyone! It is still too hot here to do much outside but I'm hoping it will break in the next few days. I have a lot of outside work that needs to be done. I have been staying on track eating good, working out at lunch time and keeping the house chores under control. Things are good!

Ann: Great job at the gym. It is always nice when someone sees a positive difference in you!

Tam: Sorry about your computer, glad you were able to back everything up. Glad you were able to get 2 miles in with your DVD. Great job!

Sandy: Sounds like you had a great workout. Keep it up!

Nessa: Try to stay cool. The heat is getting to me too and I live in PA its only about 86 but very very humid.

Kate: I just stated back last week, I've been gone for a long time. I know you can do it. Stay strong!

itsmylife: Sounds like you have a good plan in place. Keep up the good work. Try to stay cool.

Talk to you all soon!

Debbie

Happy Wednesday All!!

I have been having fatigue issues this last 3 weeks and have just enough to give to make it through my work day and when I get home I'm so tired I don't do anything. Most nights I take the dog on a short walk but that has been taxing too! I think as I get older the extreme heat (its been over 100 here in Texas the last 3 weeks) affects me more. I should also go to the doctor and have my thyroid and hormone levels checked as I'm "of the age" for hormones to die off and thyroid issues run in my family. I just REALLY avoid going to the doctor if at all possible.

I also think I need to start forcing myself to change and do at least a 20 minute workout when I first get home (I have the Zumba DVDs, a Total Gym and a treadmill) so I have 0 excuses. I am also currently a member of the YMCA but if I don't start using the gym again soon I'm going to cancel the monthly membership.

Sounds like so many of you are on the right track and reading your successes encourages me so keep up the great job! TTYL

OMG!!! I just went back to the 1st of the month to see who is still around. I am so thrilled to see so many familiar names: PEACELOVEJOY, NESSAGIRL67, FVUSCMOM, SANDY1380, ONEDOGLVR, CYCLEGIRL36, INFINITY4U, VICKYLYLES & CATNURSE1.

Oh how I have missed you & this Spark team family (especially my body). I am so inspired by the commitment you have each shown to stay in touch...impressive! emoticon

I missed most of this year with the exception of two poorly attempted restarts. So last week before signing on I did a dry run of just focusing on proper nutrition. I am pleased to say I have been on the right track. I detoxed off the candy& caffeine yo-yo. Working nights since the new year full time has been tough. I'd eat to stay awake as well as having many caffeinated drinks loaded with sugar & calories. I finally had enough when I on my days off I couldn't sleep. I stopped the caffeine first and then cold turkey on the junk food. Two days later I was flying high on energy, the good & natural kind. My DH, (Jeffrey) has been asking me for the whole year to restart, because he too was feeling the effects of an unhealthy diet. So I am happy to report we are 1 week mostly vegan strong again. emoticon

I have new recipes I will blog about as time allows. I do realize that working FT now I will not have as much free time to spend here as I did in the past, but I do plan to check in daily, even if it's a quickie. emoticon

I am slowing making the changes necessary for the long haul. I lost 49 lbs last time. I know I have the knowledge & power to DO IT AGAIN!!!

In one week diet changes only 9.3 lbs lost!! emoticon

emoticon new team mates. This is a great team & site to make all your healthy goals come true. emoticon

Hi everyone! This morning was a little annoying because I planned on going food shopping but the weather prediction was thunderstorms - and then the storms didn't come (the usual thing here in West Texas). But on the plus side, I did end up doing a 2 mile walking DVD (love you, Leslie Sansome). It was a little stressful later on, as my computer is on the brink and I just found out that it's going to need a hard drive replacement. Luckily, I was able to back everything I had been doing up so I'm not losing anything important on the hard drive. Hopefully it should be fixed by tomorrow.

Good Morning! Thanks for welcomes! I could not enjoy my morning walk...dealing with nasty storms. I did go to the gym and did 15 minutes on the treadmill and 60 minutes on the cycle. While at the gym I wore my new smaller size workout outfit. The ones I usually workout with noticed the difference. When others see its really raises the self esteem! Have a great day all!

Hello! Hope everyone is having a good day. It is hot and humid here and will be for a few more days. I will workout everyday this week on my lunch break for 25 minutes - it is inside with air conditioning, by the time I get home it is so hot and stuffy in my house I just can't bring myself to do much. But I'm improving - doing more than I was a week ago today. Things are good!

Everyone keep up the good work - Happy Tuesday!

Had a great time camping in Aniwa over the weekend. It is such a nice, small campground so it is so peaceful. We did some hiking over the rocks on Saturday morning. The view is just amazing! Then we just soaked up the weekend of relaxation! I still managed to get 10,000 steps in both days, but I will be honest in saying that I wasn't really trying :)

Now, I am getting ready for my next weekend trip. I am heading towards the Lake Geneva area to visit friends and family. That is where I grew up, and I just don't get down there as much as I would like.

It is a busy, busy month!

We had a very very hot weekend here so the kids wanted to get wet so we let them. Even we got wet too and it felt so good. We just stayed inside as much as we could to stay out of the heat. When we need to go shopping we did it in the evenings. I did good with staying active all week and I hope to keep it up this week..

My goals for this week will be..
Drink more water
No snacking after 10pm
Exercise 5 times a week
Track everything
Post on spark people

Happy Monday Everyone! I'm going to have another busy week this week but I am stopping by to say hello. I have my gym bag packed and I have my breakfast, snacks and lunch prepared.
Next week is the first week of school for my daughter who is now a Junior in high school. She has also gotten her driving permit and completed the classroom portion of driver's ed. I let her drive a lot to get the experience of driving and she is doing an awesome job.

Have a great day everyone!

Well on Wednesday I did 20 minutes on the bike for 2 miles. On Thursday I did 20 minutes working in my yard pulling up weeds and dead plants. Today is a rest day as I am resting my body. I woke up this morning and step on my scale and this time it read 249.0 I was shock to see that I loss 3 lbs this week. So it shows if you eat healthy and move your body more you can lose weight. So I am looking forward to a new week ahead....Hope everyone else is having a good week. I can't wait for the weekend to come.
