Thank you for the hug!

Had a good day yesterday. Got my work out in, went to the endocrinologist, and even had time for my sewing room!!

Endocrinologist appointment went very well. My numbers are great! Was nice to talk to someone who accepted that even though the numbers are good the condition is still there. So refreshing!! She gave me some ideas for fatigue - B vitamins (I take), creatine, l-carnitine, coQ-10, and anti-oxidants. I picked up some l-carnitine and CoQ-10 yesterday to give a try. We are also going to start using Biotin for hair loss. The woman I used to see retired, and this one took her place. I really like her!!

Spent some time in my sewing room yesterday. It felt great!!! Always nice to be in my element!

Tonight, I work. So, not sure if I will get a lot done or not. Insomnia is back. I just couldn't sleep much last night at all. I hope it is short lived....

We are calling for a high of 38 and snow starting tonight. I guess Winter is back...

Just getting back on here after personal stuff at the beginning of the month. I just got in the swing of walking 3-5 miles a day and its raining today. But the chances go down in a couple hours so I'm going out again no matter what!

Yesterday was a hard day. Four years ago, yesterday, I lost my father to a 9 year battle with many cancers. Melanoma is what took him in the end. He was the only one who truly understood me. No one else seems to understand what I am trying to say. It's been hard. I just try to remind myself that he is no longer in any pain.

I was tired yesterday, but not weak. Not sure if I overdid it, or if my emotions were getting the best of me. I did my walk and exercises for the day, and worked on some chores in the evening. Just felt kind of lazy...

Today, I am going to try to get back into my routine of working in my sewing room every day. I am off today, but have an endocrinologist appointment this afternoon. And leftover hummus chicken that has been in the freezer is my dinner. Nice and easy :)

Cloudy, foggy, and a high of 38. Another ugly day. It would be nice if we could see the sun.

Heather - One pound is a very good accomplishment! Have you looked at a pound of hamburger meat? That is how much you lost! Awesome job!!

Sandy - Good of you!

ALITTLETLC1 - I have to track! If I don't, I am in big trouble!!!! And it actually gets easier, especially if you tend to eat a lot of the same foods. I use the recent foods tab more than the others!

Vickie - Hope you are doing well!

Finally starting to get my energy back. We went out to dinner with friends last night at Charcoal Grill. I had a southwestern salad. It was good, but hate going out to places with not nutritional value. I used the input someone put into Fitness Pal, but I don't believe it to be true. There wasn't much extra in it. In fact I think they forgot some of it...LOL

Woke up today a little more tired. I don't feel weak, which is good. Think I may have just not rested enough yesterday. One day at a time... I still have tomorrow off, so no work yet. Just a Dr appointment with the Endocrinologist in the afternoon.

Another cloudy day here.....

Not my best week last week for sure...only 67 fitness minutes tracked. It has been a crazy week. My father in law passed away Monday so we had to deal with organizing the funeral etc. I still managed to stay away from pop (something I always use to turn to when stressed). I actually managed to get two walks in today and spend some time on the stationary bike. I got more exercise minutes today than I did all last week combined. I just started actually tracking my exercise in spark today and after a lot of reflection have realized that I NEED to track my food with the food tracker. It is a pain in the butt but I don't think I can do this without tracking. I find it so difficult because our computer only half works and I don't have enough room on my phone for the spark people app. I haven't weighed my self in a few weeks but will weigh myself tomorrow and see what happens.

I hope everyone is doing ok and had a good week.

Michelle, glad your mom is doing well.

Sandy, way to go on the loss!!

Heather, I know it can be discouraging but what you’ve done in the last 3 weeks is very impressive. Keep it up. You will get there!!

Nothing much going on around here. I have such an easy week this week. Taylor is going out of town on Thursday for a basketball tourney and Jessie has drum lessons Thursday afternoon. I will have no excuse to get my walks in.

Three weeks into getting back into a gym and 88 miles walked/jogged and I have only lost maybe one pound. emoticon It makes it hard to keep going. I'm getting really discouraged about my program. emoticon I'm not even loosing water weight!

That about it How is everyone else doing?

I love making new spark friends, so please feel free to drop me a line and say hello. Keep the spark going..

Lounged around most of the day yesterday. Took my time getting up this morning. Hard to tell how I feel yet, but think I am a bit better. Going to meet an old coworker and her husband for dinner tonight. I am looking forward to it! I'm not going to push my walks quite yet. Going to try and relax this morning as much as I can.

Talked to my Mom yesterday, and she sounds good. She saw the neurologist yesterday, and she is doing very well. She asked for an extension on her FMLA leave for another month. The PT she did after her crushed disc surgery was not successful. The guy working with her did not listen to her, so it did very little for her. She asked around, and found a place recommended by a friend of hers. All the reviews were very good. She asked her Dr for an order to go there. She is beyond pleased! She is doing so well, they had to increase some of the weights and tensions yesterday. That is such good news! He is also working with her hands. She still needs to desensitize her nerves and has trouble picking things up (she keeps dropping things). So happy she found a place she is happy with and is actually working with her!!

It is rainy and cold here.... Hope you all have a good day!

Went to the Dr yesterday for a followup with my ear. He said it was a little better, but that my throat looked really sore. We are trying a different antibiotic - the z pack. He also ran some labs to check my blood count. I've been feeling weak and tired and he said I looked pale. It also may just be what I am fighting. Better to be safe.

I only worked three hours last night, so that wasn't too bad. I am off the next four days. I plan to relax. We have a couple things planned, but not a whole lot. Should be time in there to relax.

Calling for some rain later today. Hope it doesn't freeze overnight.

Thanks for getting back to me. I don't manage to get on here everyday so I will do my best to get numbers in on time.

On a different note....I have exceeded the minutes goal that I had set for the month. I'm pretty happy about that. I realize it was a low goal but I'm just getting started after a long absence so I set it low so I didn't get discouraged. I really wasn't sure I'd make it to be honest. I am curious to see how far I can take this. The work challenge is a good incentive. My work challenge is in 2 parts. The first ends at the end of Feb and the second starts the day after the first one ends and goes until July. I need to get in 4500 minutes before July 1st. I really, really hope that I can do this. Over the next week or two I'm really hoping to start incorporating more changes in what I'm eating. I gave up pop of all kinds cold turkey on January 3rd. It wasn't any kind of New Years resolution or anything but when I checked my blood sugars they were crazy high and it kind of scared me so I knew that would be a major help.

ALITTLETLC1, I usually post results for weekly challenges about 2 days after the week is done. So for week three, I'll most likely post on the 23rd. I usually post something the day before reminding everyone to update their numbers. If you update after I post just shoot me a message and I'll edit the results and add yours to it.

Today was a great day. I got a massage and a facial. I feel so relaxed. Think I'll sleep good tonight. So glad tomorrow is Friday. After work my youngest has a chiropractor appt and then the oldest has a basketball game that is about an hour away. And then nothing for the weekend!!! Supposed to be 62 degrees on Saturday so I plan on getting a long walk in.

Enjoying my lazy morning with coffee and Spark :)

I plan to do my walk this morning, before cooking up some Shrimp Risotto for my dinner tonight. I only work three hours, so it should be an easy shift. Then, I am off until Tuesday. That should give the new antibiotics a chance to start working (hopefully). Sinus pressure has gotten a lot worse since the last ones ran out.

Found out last night that my hairdresser's shop was broken into the other night? Who breaks into a hair salon? Just sad....

Supposed to be 38 today, so hopefully more snow will melt. Then two days of rain. As long as that rain doesn't freeze....

I know, it is a great incentive. I just bought an exercise bike a couple of weeks ago with the money from last year. I just put my claim in last week for it and I'm waiting now to get the money back from it.

I'm impressed that you are still able to get your exercise in because of your illness. That is awesome (the exercise, not the illness). I hope the appointment goes well and you get some relief soon.

That is an awesome incentive! Kudos to your workplace for knowing the importance of healthy living!!

Worked a short shift today, and was home by 2. I took a two hour nap. Just letting my body rest as it needs when I can. I am still doing my mile walks, but it doesn't seem to be taking much out of me. I wish I could do my step aerobics, but I don't think it would be a good idea right now. So, walking and a few strength exercises for now :)

Made a roasted chicken and balsamic pear salad. So yummy! It had roasted red onions, dried cherries, goat cheese, toasted walnuts, along with chicken and pears. The dressing was balsamic vinegar, honey, and olive oil. So yummy!!

I work a later shift tomorrow, so I will be taking advantage of the extra time. to rest. My follow up appointment is at 2. Hopefully, he can help me feel better until my ENT appointment. Pain is starting to get a little worse. So far, it is not the horrible pain I remember from my youth. Just one more day!

It was over 40 degrees and sunny. The ice is half melted on the driveway. It was a skating rink! Even this morning, I almost slipped taking the trash out!! There is some ice inside the garage next to the door that we may have to break up and chip, but after tomorrow, we should be good. It was so nice to have the sunshine and warmer weather with it!

I just started a thing at work for getting healthy. This is the third year they are doing the event. If I manage to get over 1500 minutes logged in to my account in the next 6 weeks I get $200 put in my benefits account at work that I can use toward health related things like buying fitness equipment, gym fees, buying new sneakers etc. I'm hoping I get there. After the 6 weeks they are starting another round and if I get another 3000 in the 18 weeks following that then I get even more money. I'm going to give it my best shot.

Just wondering by what time each week I need to have my fitness minutes updated for the challenge to be included in the weekly group total? I seem to have missed the cut off the last 2 weeks

Hi All --

Just checking in. Posted more detail on the "no excuses" thread I started (Hi VICKYLYLES! thanks for stopping in). Looking for chime-ins on "reasons I want to lose the weight" -- to motivate ourselves despite rain, snow, dr. appointments and stinky computer issues (BTW -- ANYONE know how to access "teams" and forums on the MOBILE app? I can't figure that out!)

Some of mine reasons for losing weight are:
No more knit clothes
Florida -- sleeveless and less sweaty
Sex with the lights on
SO TIRED ALL THE TIME -- that has to stop
BUSINESS meetings -- nothing like sweating in a horrid biz suit in Florida (notice theme here?)
AND MUCH MORE --

*******Check out the thread below, and please add your "reasons" -- funny, fun and ridiculous are all OKAY!!!*******

Been doing my walks on the treadmill. Trying to stay active the best I can. I would like to start doing my step aerobics, but know that I should wait until I feel better. My walks are only 20-25 minutes and just over a mile.

Woke up with a horrible sinus headache this morning. Had a start time an hour earlier than normal. Took some Advil once I got there, and it helped. I try not to use the OTC sinus meds because they tend to dry you out. That usually hurts me more than helps me.

Roads were a bit iffy in places this morning, but the salt trucks were out. They were still plowing the icy slush when I got to work. Thankfully, this evening they were just wet. They are calling for 40 this week. Maybe the ice on my driveway will finally melt. The ice melt didn't work because it would just refreeze every night!

Leftovers for dinner, and hoping for an early night.

On Call nurse called me back. They want me to come in. But, I refuse to see anyone but my Dr. I just don't have very good luck otherwise. So, my appointment is on Thursday before work along with my appointment to have my blood drawn for my thyroid test. It is that time again. That appointment is on Monday!

Anastasia's doctor believes she is on the tail end of her cold. There is a really nasty one going around Madison. They suggested not elevated her head so much, because it is dripping down her throat. And to continue with sitting in the steamy bathroom and using the infant vicks vaporizer. Her lungs are clear, so that is a relief. No pneumonia! She gets rechecked in a couple of days.

Got a burst of energy this afternoon after laying around most of the day. So, I walked and did a couple of easy exercises. Have to keep myself focused so I don't start binge eating! I work a full day tomorrow at the store, so that should be the hardest day to get through. They are salting the roads now, so hopefully, the commute won't be too bad around 8:30.

Enjoy your night.

Sorry to hear that your knees are bothering you. Walking is my favorite type of exercise, especially walking outside.

Ang, I'll have to check out your forum.

Michelle, hope the doctor can give you some better medicine so you can finally start feeling better.

I got the entire day off. Got a 1/2 hour in on my gazelle this morning and done a lot of cleaning at the house. Not very exciting but at least it's done.

Well hello Monday. I have decided since I am finding it a challenge to do any kind of jumping, squatting, or lunging due to my knee that has been causing me problems, I am just going to do a walking program until I get this extra weight off. Hopefully, when that happens my knee won't hurt so bad :)

Make it a great day!

So my "new years' resolutions" start today as I've been traveling. the ONE TIME I was truly successful at weight loss, i was involved in and accountable to a group. Hoping this group is that kind of group. I started a chat thread that follows a method I found to be successful for ME (it's not for everybody/not everybody's cup of tea). It's based on this post/idea:

http://www.sparkpeople.com/secrets.asp?t
ip=50392_make_no_excuses

I hope some of you will want to join the chat/thread or even implement some of the ideas here!?

Looking forward to getting to know team leaders and progressing surrounded by members. I don't really understand how to support the team with goals/progress. If there is a thread about that -- please point me to it!!!

Felt a bit more energy last night, then went to bed with my ear throbbing. I took my last antibiotic last night. I can honestly say it did not help one bit. I called my Dr, who is out of the office today. So, I left a message with the on call doctor explaining that I feel worse. I even noticed last night that the doohickey that hangs in the back of your throat has a bump on it. So, I took my shower and am waiting for a call back. Hopefully, it is soon.

I have today off yet, so I plan to relax as much as possible. At this point, I will probably skip my walk unless I feel better later on.

Poor little Anastasia has been sick with a cold for over a week. It has developed into a wet cough from stuff dripping down her throat. My daughter has the Owlet alarm system that has gone off three times in the last couple of days due to lack of oxygen. She saw the Dr this morning, but there is nothing she can do. She is just too young for medication. So, continue with the vaporizer, and sitting in the steamy bathroom. She just looks like she don't feel good :(

Freezing rain and ice out there today! Be safe!

Weebot, you are so lucky no snow or rain. It's been raining or freezing raining here since Friday. Thankfully the roads have not been bad. It will be in the 50s here starting tomorrow and most of the week but is supposed ot be raining. I just want to wash my car and go walking outside.

Michelle, hope you get better this week. Being sick sucks.

I'm off again tomorrow. I have a gift card from Christmas for the massage place. Was hoping to get a facial and massage tomorrow but they're all booked up. I have my appt Thursday night instead.

Spending the day at home, relaxing between loads of laundry. I still feel very weak and take the last antibiotic today. Will be calling the doctor tomorrow. I will take my walk, but it is a short 20 minute one and feels great to be moving. But, I will be in my recliner the rest of the day. Making sloppy joes for dinner. Nothing exciting, but quick and easy.

Enjoy your day!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. It's not raining or snowing, so I'm happy about that:)
I might even venture outside for a walk today. I really need to work on some menu planning. Staring at the fridge and asking what's for dinner gets me in trouble emoticon

Sorry I have been MIA for the last couple of days. Work was busy Thursday and Friday. I worked from home yesterday since we were supposed to get this huge ice storm. Thankfully it wasn't bad like it was supposed to be. Pretty much the whole town was shut down. My 17 year old complained the whole night that she wasn't allowed to drive anywhere. Better safe than sorry. They say we're supposed to get some this afternoon. Hope they are wrong since she is supposed to go to work tonight.

Thinking I'll lounge around the house today and get a few things cleaned up. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Met with a friend for about an hour last night. Had shrimp and a baked potato, but felt so hungry the rest of the night. Hate meeting at bar girl places that don't have a good side dish assortment that are not deep fried! Today is another day!

Today's agenda is grocery shopping and meeting with a friend later on. We might meet at McDonalds, but will be in between meals. Think I will plan on a fruit and yogurt parfait as a snack :)

Plan to work on some cross stitch today. Just don't have a lot of energy to do much. Making chicken quesadillas for dinner. Nice, quick, and easy. Just need to come up with a side dish hubby will eat...LOL

Been getting my walks in on the treadmill, but they are a slower pace and only 20 minutes.

Enjoy your day! It's supposed to get to 23 today!

I am off the next four days, so plan to get plenty of rest in. We are meeting a friend for an early dinner tonight, but looked ahead at their menu last night. I settled on sautéed shrimp and a baked potato.

Scale went up a little bit the other day, but I believe it is caused by my antibiotics. Been experiencing some bloating and discomfort this week. But, not worrying about it. I feel better, and that means more than the scale.

I've been struggling a bit to get to the computer to actually input the minutes I'm doing but I just got it updated tonight. I've been feeling pretty crappy lately because my blood sugars are high and finally had a dr. appointment yesterday. I got put on Metformin so hopefully I will be feeling better soon. I've been taking my Dad back and forth to cancer treatment appointments PLUS every night so far this week except tonight I've been at my father - in - laws bedside until 1 am because he is receiving end of life palliative care. It's been a long week and I still have to work three 12 hour back shifts this weekend. I'm hoping I can still manage to get my minutes in a few days this weekend

Had more energy today, but sinuses were acting up. That is nothing new for me. I am sure that is the reason for my ear infection. I believe they are draining into my ear. Drinking lots of fluids, and walked for 20 minutes after work. Relaxing the rest of the night.

Bought my tickets to Paisley Park to see Prince's old home. It's getting close!

Pretty cold here, but snow has stopped. Calling for winds to pick up tonight, and only a high of 9 for tomorrow. Can I please have summer back?

Have the next four days off of work, so I plan to relax when I can. Not much planned, so it should be possible. Think I'll work on some of my crafts from my recliner.

Pain in the throat is gone, and swelling has gone down too. I am on pretty strong antibiotics, but the ear infection is so bad it takes awhile for me to notice they are working. Took awhile the last time too. Been feeling a bit run down the last few days. I worked 7 1/2 hours today, and heated up leftovers for dinner. No energy to walk, and it probably would do more harm than good anyway. Tomorrow is my Friday, so I can rest for four days!

Roads were pretty horrible this morning, after the snow/rain we got yesterday. I was thankful to see my driveway plowed after work! Yay!! I got stuck at the end of the driveway before work yesterday. I live on a highway, so the local snowplows usually bury me....

Hoping for an early night. I have the morning shift again tomorrow. Wish I could do all mornings, and no evenings.. Enjoy your night, and drive safe if you have to go out!

SOFT_VAL67, hope you feel better soon too.

WEEBOT, I'm glad your husband didn't end up having a blood clot.

My daughter had a good basketball game last night. I missed the first quarter bc of an accident on the highway. Tonight will be a good night. We have nothing going on. Friday will be a mess. I already told the kids no one is going anywhere that day. My boss already told me I could stay home if it was bad on Friday morning. It's just not worth the trouble coming in.

Hope you are feeling better. I have had an ear infection on and off since Christmas. The docs refuse to give me antibiotic ear drops, so I have just been trying to soothe and ease the pain as much as possible.
She told me that the antibiotics she gave me for strep throat would also clear up the ear infection but it hasnt.
Well anyway, hope everyone has a good week.

Vicky, being able to work from home when the weather is bad is a great perk,
Michelle, I hope you are feeling better.
Hello everyone.

We're having a mini warm-up. It rained and all the snow melted leaving lots of mud and puddles. I'm hoping things dry up before the next freeze.

It's been busy in my world. Lot of stuff at work and we thought my husband had a blood clot, but nothing on the ultrasound, so it's probably a torn muscle. I've been squeezing in some exercise, but I haven't been good about tracking food. That's kind of my downfall. I need to just preplan, then I won't have to think about it.

I hope everyone is having a great week so far emoticon

Hope everyone is having a great week! My daughter has a basketball game tonight and i have a trivia night meeting on Thursday. We are supposed to get some nasty weather Friday and Saturday. Good thing the kids are already off school Friday. I cancelled both my doctors appts for Friday afternoon. I'm going to leave work early on Friday if it gets bad. Heck if it's bad in the morning, I may just work from home.

Ended up being lazy yesterday. Think my ear infection is taking more out of me than I thought. I finally had a day to myself, and I rested. The only productive thing I did was walk a mile on the treadmill. I just felt drained. Then last night, I noticed my throat was hurting more than before. Looks like some fluid is building up. I called the Dr this morning, and he wants me to continue the antibiotics. They are strong ones. The pain is less this morning. So glad that is the only pain I have! My last ear infection did the same thing. I didn't start feeling better until Day 6 of the antibiotics.

Found some dumbbell exercises, but not sure if it is targeting the area I wanted. There is not category for inner/upper arms....LOL But, at least I am doing them!

My ham and broccoli casserole came out so good! I used my double glazed ham leftovers from New Years. Tasted so much better than that boring ham steak I usually buy! It's a good recipe with low calorie content.

It's snowing pretty good out there. I work tonight, so hopefully the roads are not too bad around 5:30 when I go in. But, it is an easy week - only 3 days of work. Next week is back to five which includes Saturday, so I will savor it!

I plan to work on my sewing before work today for a bit. So hopefully, I can make some progress :)

Enjoy your day!

Michelle

If the antibiotics work, I will be ok until the appointment. It's not that I am in constant pain, just recurring problems. Hopefully, this will work. The last couple of times I have seen an ENT, it was a waste of time. First one was more concerned about my hearing loss and the 2nd one sent me to an allergist because the MRI didn't show anything. The allergist didn't help me either. I sure hope this one helps! Hubby keeps hearing a commercial for an ENT place down where he works that he wants me to go to.....

Today is another day off. I plan to work on some curtains that I have started for a friend. I should get the first set done today. He needs five today. Thought I would finish the ones for his room first. I might even fire up the pellet stove to get in nice and toasty for working. My sewing room is in the basement, so it is usually a bit chilly.

Doing some research today for some dumbbell exercises. I think it is time to add some strength training to my workout. Baby steps...

Stepped on the scale and I had dropped another two pounds. Why couldn't that have shown up yesterday for weigh in day? Great start for the week, I guess..

Making a ham and broccoli casserole for dinner tonight. It's pretty low calorie and a great way to use up some of the ham in the freezer from New Years! Hubby doesn't like broccoli, so I make it when he is out of town :)

Hope everyone has a productive day!

Good morning everyone. Went to a double movie matinee yesterday. The first movie was, "Hidden Figures". It was so good we stood up and applauded for it. The second one was Fences, well....I let you all be the judge of that one.

This weekend was scary as I was out every day of it. I did well with my exercising and was able to get my 10,000 steps in. I also did well with eating except perhaps one night at Olive Garden, but I'm pretty sure even with that indulgence I did ok.

See you in the am!

MALISDREAM, congrats on getting married!

WEEBOT, that stinks about the elliptical.

I've been so lazy today. I've sat on the recliner a lot and am watching the Twilight marathon on tv. Love those movies.

Went to the Dr on Friday morning. It's not a good sign when he doctor tells you that your ear looks yucky.... He referred me to an ENT, which I agreed with and was very happy to hear. I was going to suggest that to him! My ENT appointment is not until Valentine's Day, so I am on antibiotics in the meantime. I had tubes put in my ears twice when i was very young. Wonder if that problem has resurfaced?

Spent the day yesterday bumming around with my daughter doing some shopping. Love hanging out with this little girl! Still can't believe she is almost 8 months already!!

Relaxing this morning, then doing chores and shopping for the week. I'm pretty happy with how I am doing. According to Spark, I only lost one pound. But, the scale went up about four pounds on Monday, so it really was much more. Just happy to be making progress. Hope I can keep this going!!

Only 1 degree out right now. It is supposed to get to 14. I am ready for a warm up. I'll take 20

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday to you! Husband is taking me out to dinner tonight which means I won't have time to work out. Decided to do it early this morning before work. Girls, was that ever a mistake. I am so tired my eyes are refusing to stay open.

Will make myself get up and get moving again soon. Got to shake it off!

Michelle, sorry you aren't feeling well.

My elliptical is in pieces. The plan was to set up a small exercise room, but hubby ran into some problems. I'll have to come up with an alternate plan to get some movement in today.

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

We have another cold one today with a high of 2, with strong wind chills again. Supposed to be like this through Sunday. Brrrrr. Just sucks the life right out of you!

I work the afternoon shift today, so I am enjoying a lazy morning with coffee and Spark. I'll get my walk on the treadmill done before work, so I don't have to that at 9:30 tonight. Scale is moving down, so getting back on track is working. I'm feeling a lot better now too. Amazing how eating right helps you feel much better!

My Dr appointment is tomorrow morning. I believe I have a sinus infection that has drained into my ear. We shall see what he says, and see if we can devise a plan to prevent this from happening. Third time since August......

Have a great day!

I'm so thankful that roads weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be today. It only took me 5 more minutes to get to work than normal. There have been a few accidents around.

Looks like I will be working out on my gazelle for the next couple of days. Can't wait until spring when I can go walking outside again. But I have been watching the Fuller House series on Netflix while I exercise so it hasn't been bad.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

ALITTLETLC1 – You’re going in the right direction. Keep at it and you will get there. Great job on getting the exercise bike!

PEACELOVEJOY2 – I love being able to track my steps. Really tells me to get my butt in
gear!

Heather – glad to see you back. Hope the new knee brace helps.

WEEBOT – sorry to hear you tracker broke. Hope you are able to get one soon.

Michelle – you always seem to be making such yummy food! And brrr for your temperatures. We are supposed to be getting anywhere from a dusting to 3 inches of snow late tonight into tomorrow. The morning commute is supposed to be bad.

Nothing too much going on with me. The kids are supposed to go back to school tomorrow but if we get the snow they may get a snow day. I wish I could get snow days!

Ear pain is not miserable. I believe I have an ear infection that has drained into my ear. I feel a little twinge here and there, and it feels swollen in there.

It is very bitter cold out today. The high is 3 without the windchill. Our driveway was sheer ice from the freezing rain we got on Sunday night. I stopped at Walmart after work to pick up Pet Friendly ice melt. My hands were painfully cold by the time I finished sprinkling it on the driveway.

Found some clearance baby clothes for Anastasia while at Walmart. Two outfits for $5 each, and some long sleeve onesies and a pair of leggings for $2 each. Love finding deals!! The one outfit was a fleece top with a deer on it. So adorable!!

Having buttermilk ranch chicken tonight with green beans and smashed carrots. Tomorrow, it is back to leftovers. We have quite a stash built up. Might have a delite pizza for dinner on Saturday instead of cooking!

Work tomorrow afternoon/evening. Looking forward to sleeping in a bit tomorrow, or at least taking my time in the morning!

Stay warm and enjoy your night!

Weebot - I think there is a fitbit app for your phone that will track your steps without the fitbit. Or you could use a cheaper pedometer for now.

Calling for much colder temps tomorrow with a high of 6! Brrrr.!! My daughter and I had plans to meet for dinner, but she doesn't want to take Anastasia out in those temperatures. I don't blame her! We have plans to meet with my sister on Saturday, so that will work a bit better. (I hope)

My ear is bothering me a bit more and I never got to that deep sleep last night. I finally called my doctor and will see him on Friday. In the meantime, I have a ear oil made out of garlic and mullein that I will use. My sleep may be due to holiday stress and such. Up until I week ago, I had been sleeping great.

Walked on the treadmill again today for a mile. I had read somewhere that you should workout as long as your illness was above the shoulders, so a walking I went!

Making Hummus Crusted Chicken tonight with roasted peppers, cauliflower, and green beans. Hoping for an early night, but have some laundry to get done for work tomorrow. I can't find exercise pants for work that are not sweat pants. I only have one pair that is acceptable, so I have to do laundry every two workdays for the month of January...

Enjoy your night!

My Fitbit tracker broke today. I have gotten really dependent on it. I don't have the money to replace it right now, so I'm going to have to figure out another way to track my exercise. I'll be saving my pennies to replace it.

Hi guys! I'm back after another break! I've started tracking and exercising again, and I ordered a new knee brace for myself today! I looked all over for one that would fit someone with big legs! After scouring Amazon, I think I found one that will work - it will be here on Thursday, so we'll see. The one the doctor gave me earlier this year is kind of a sleeve that pulls up over your knee, and I cannot keep the darn thing from rolling down.

Hubby and I spent New Year's Eve at the shop, doing year end inventory. Then I worked the shop New Year's Day, because our regular employee wanted the day off, and we're awesome bosses. emoticon

Hope you're all doing well!

Hello Team - hope everyone is off to a good start. My computer is up and running well again so I will be able to post. Bought a Fit Bit tracker for myself and starting using it. They recommend getting 10,000 steps a day. I am finding that my average is about 6500 which surprised me. Guess it's time to step it up :)

Going to give this a try again. I have to get it together. 2016 was a very rough year for my family and I definitely put my self last. The 40 pounds I lost in 2015 I found again. I signed up to do the fitness minutes challenge. I've never done a challenge before and I think I've really only ever posted on a spark board a few times in the many years that I've been on this site. I bought an exercise bike and am going to give this a shot. I kind of feel my minutes goal is pretty pathetic when I look at everyone else's that seem to be like 3, 4 or 5 times as many. I know I need to start really small though just to make it a habit then I can work on increasing the amount of minutes.

Had a wonderful weekend with quality time for hubby and I. After Christmas weekend being so hectic, it was nice to be a couple :)

Started back to exercise and tracking my food today. Hubby even worked out along side of me! I am committed and tired of all the excuses!

We had spicy chicken linguine tonight for dinner, only I used leftover turkey. Hubby really liked it. It was close to a fettuccine alfredo, but with diced chiles added for a little zing. Not really spicy, but a hint of mexican...LOL

It is raining here, and calling for it to freeze over night, so hubby headed out tonight. It was probably the best decision. This way he can take his time, and not worry about being late for work.

So, I am relaxing tonight with a glass of Sangria :)

That's great for the competition with your husband. I'll be doing the same with my husband with exercise. He'll go to the gym alot during January and I can't let him beat me. It helps keep me motivated too.

I spent most of my day cleaning the house and watching the hockey game. Hopefully my family won't destroy it (at least for a couple of days). Tonight I'm just going to sit around and watch tv tonight.

The weather was decent yesterday, so I got aside and walked in the sunshine. We'll be back to typical Michigan weather this week, so my exercise will be inside. My son got my husband a fitness band so we've been having step competitions. I work at a desk, so I have to work harder to get my steps in. It's actually quite motivating..lol

I feel asleep off and on from 10 to 11:30 last night. Got up to ring in the New Year. Kids shoot off a couple of fireworks and all the kids were gone by 12:30 which was nice.

Had the cable guy out yesterday.. He put in all new wires and had to take out a lot of our ceiling tiles in the basement to do it. Need to get my husband to put them back up. Getting rid of stuff in the basement is one of my goals Fun, I know!!

Things have been busy here, and making time for quality time with hubby. We did not see much of each other for the Christmas with my work schedule. I worked Thursday night, and relaxed on Friday. I was just exhausted! I had gone 10 days straight with something going on!

Did our grocery shopping yesterday. The stores were crazy busy!!!! Yikes!! Came home and took a nap. I am fighting a sinus/ear infection. Again!!! This will be my third ear infection since August.... Going to make an appointment with my Dr. tomorrow. Spent the afternoon making soups. I made a Spicy Steak and Potato soup for my lunches this week. And we had a beer cheese and brat soup for New Year Eve dinner. It was very good with a southwestern kick! I had some brats in the freezer. It was a perfect way to use them up!

I am making a ham dinner for New Years. That has been a family tradition since I was young. My mom always made a ham! I may run to Walmart to grab a couple of things later. I forgot hubby was going to be home tomorrow, so I need some things to make dinner....LOL

My plan is to get back to exercising on a daily routine, and to add more than walking. I am looking into getting a bike trainer to hook my street bike onto it. I never liked the stationary bikes. I always slide forward on the seats. I also may start using my step machine. That machine is brutal, but it will burn calories! Time to start getting serious about my fitness!! I'm not getting any younger!

Hope everyone had a safe New Years Eve!! Happy New Year!

Come on Vicky! You have to know by now the trials and tribulations of raising kids! Not a moment's rest. Right now I have my sons living with me and they will be partying. My other son who lives in an apartment is coming over too so no going to sleep early for me! I am going to have some fun and I might even do a little dance for the new year LOL.

Well my daughter didn't end up getting the surgery. Grr!! The oral surgeon told her she needed to have braces first. Wish they would have told me that when I scheduled the appt. Poor kid wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything before the appt. I'll be calling the orthodontist next week to find out what we need to do next.

Our plans for tonight have changed again. My daughter that was going to have friends over decided to go to spend the night at her other friends house. I was so excited about a quiet house. Now my other daughter is having friends over at our house I told my husband he can stay up with them and I plan on being in bed by 10. I'm sure I'll get woken up at midnight but that's ok.

Vicki, I hope your daughter is doing okay today.

I managed 11,000 steps yesterday. I parked far away in the parking lot the two times I had to go to Walmart and went up and down a few extra aisles. I took several inside the building walking breaks at work.. I miss my lunch time walks, but It's just too cold and slippery right now.

I have a 4 day weekend, so I'll be doing food prep and getting ready for a very healthy January,

First goal....no soda, not even diet. People tell me that diet is worse than drinking regular? Don't know what the science is behind that???

Don't look back...you're not going that way.

KHUFSTETLER - Sorry Carrie Fisher's death affected you so much. We are all here for you!

Vickie -Hope your daughter's procedure went well, and that she is not in too much pain.

Went to work for a 3 1/3 hour shift this morning, but ended up working 7 1/2 to help out with the change. GNC is starting something new tomorrow, and there is a lot of set up work for it. We still were not done when I left at 5...

I had planned on going out to Stevens Point to do some shopping at Herrschners for needlepoint supplies. I might do that tomorrow. My shift does not start until 4:30. Maybe I'll head over to Kohl's and look for some athletic pants while I am there.

Relaxing tonight, and doing some research. I would like to get a bike trainer to ride my bicycle like a stationary bike during the winter for a different exercise from walking.

Thinking about upgrading to Spark Premium. Anyone use Premium? How do you like it?

Michelle-- it sounds like A FANTASTIC Christmas!! She's adorable.

Vicky-- that sound painful. How did it go?

I was very affected this morning by Carrie Fisher's death. I am in a high risk category for heart attack: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, weight 220 (approx). I'm recommitting to getting this weight off and exercising and getting into good health on all accounts.

Cute pictures Michelle!!

My youngest gets to go to the oral surgeon today. She has to have a baby tooth pulled then have a small chain put on the adult tooth so they can get it to come down. Poor kid is not going to be happy today. Hopefully she'll just sleep after she gets home and I plan on cleaning the house.

I had a very busy week! I have worked every day since last Monday, with the exception of Sunday for Christmas. I had training on Thursday, with only 1/2 hour of free time before my evening shift of work. Then, work on Friday and Saturday. We drove two hours after work on Christmas Eve to spend the holiday with my daughter's boyfriend's parents. It was such a lovely time! We really enjoyed it, and watching Anastasia open gifts for the first time! Priceless!!

After the festivities, we drove another 40 minutes to my daughter's for the night so we could see Anastasia's first Christmas morning. She didn't understand, and we were all so very tired. But, it was a good time. We had a brunch, and Derek's parents drove out for that and we all watched Anastasia open most of her gifts until she had enough and started crying. It was discovered later that she has a tooth cutting through. She opened the rest of her gifts today.

Heading home from Middleton around 2 on Christmas Day. Hubby went to see his Mom for a bit to celebrate the birthday he had on Wednesday. We finally shared our Christmas around 8 that night. We were exhausted, and I had to work Monday... I worked my four hour shift, and cooked our Christmas dinner yesterday. I worked today, with the plans of doing nothing after work. I needed some relaxing time for me.

I have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off this week. I am looking forward to it!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas!!

Weebot-- good for you getting to the gym. We have a church one block away that has free equipment to work out on. I'm just not disciplined enough to go. I love getting outside for walks. I have trouble staying on the treadmill or walking 16 laps around the gym to= 1 mile. But I need to buckle down and just do it. I haven't been getting my fitness miles or minutes in with the cold winter weather.

Vicky-- we had great weather Monday also. It was near 70 so I was able to do a couple miles. I really could tell it's been a while since I walked everyday consecutively. It felt so good to be out in the sunny weather.

Hmm Jane ... emoticon Texas Hold'em huh? That actually sounds like a great idea for us. We aren't going anywhere and I really would like to learn a new card game. He tried to teach me before but I got confused. Maybe another go at it is all I need.

Have a great Tuesday

Back at work today. It's a short week but going to be a long one. Not much going on so it will be boring, but at least I have the tv here. And I'm working on paying my bills. Woo hoo!!

Hi Vicky,

The husband and I had a Christmas eve party. We cleaned up the house especially nice and decorated it. It looked great but it was alot of work. I was able to clean up the mess once everyone left and then the Christmas bomb went off and I had to redo it yesterday. I hope you had a great day and you are right you deserve a massage and every other nice thing that could happen to you in life. Take care.

Janel

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I had my house all cleaned up after everyone left Christmas Eve night. Then it got crazy again yesterday. Today is a relaxing day. I got a gift card to Massage Luxe. Think I'll get a massage and a facial next weekend. I need to spoil me. I overate both days but oh well. I'm back on track today.

We have great weather here today. It's mid 50's so I went for a walk. Did a mile more than I have been doing. Working on building up my walks again.

I hope everyone had a pleasant Christmas. I ate too much, but I did tag along with my son to the gym yesterday. I walked on the treadmill while he lifted weights. We might go again next Sunday, since he'll be in the area again. I don't have a membership.

The above mentioned son, got me the Whole 30 book for Christmas. I'm going to dive in next week. I've played around with the website, but never did the full 30 days. I have food sensitivities and allergies, so this will certainly help.

Hi Vicky!

We are having some friends over for Christmas Eve. The dh and I have been straightening up the house and we made chili and ds helped bake sugar cookies-they were extra large! He took a few and so did my other ds. We are going to the Christmas eve service at my church and then its on to cooking the rest of the food before everyone gets here at seven! I hope we get everything prepared in time!

Michelle, your tree looks great!!

We are having my side of the family over here for Christmas tonight. Got a ham, pasta and bunch of other stuff for dinner. I overate yesterday so I need to limit myself today. I need to wrap one more present and just make sure the kids, husband and dog don't destroy the house before everyone gets here.

Had a great morning yesterday. Watched my 2 1/2 year old niece. Kid talks a mile a minute but she was so good. Taylor had a basketball game yesterday afternoon and they won! She didn't make a lot of shots, but her defense was awesome.

Hope everyone has a great Christmas!! I gotta go make the deviled eggs!!

Vicky, thank you! & Congrats on staying within your calorie range, no easy feat!

Michelle, gorgeous tree!

Happy Thursday everyone. Went out for a walk/hike today by the river.
Took lots of pix, the weather is fantabulous !! (59 F/15 C)..
Meals are on point, am about to get some arm weights in while I watch Ellen, hehe.

Today is day 2 of my healthy journey and I am noticing an energy soar today.
Big difference than when I am bingeing etc. Then I feel lethargic and miserable.
So feeling really good today, and the sinus infection lingers but getting better slowly!

Decided Tuesday night that I am done stressing about Christmas. I'm done baking. I had planned on cookie trays for gifts, but we have decided on something else. Our tree is up with lights, garland, and a star. That is good enough. It is beautiful with frosted glitter tips and pinecones. Just not worth the stress. It is beautiful. I dug out our stockings and hangers, but that is it. We are done!

Did my Christmas shopping yesterday, and wrapped everything last night. I might pick up a couple of things this week, but other than that I am done. Feels great!

I have training at noon this morning an hour away and a four hour evening shift tonight. It will be a long day. But, I don't work until 5:30 tomorrow. Plenty of time to recuperate!

Enjoy your day!

Michelle

Sylvie, glad to hear you're feeling better. That's so exciting about the new baby coming!!

Today is my last day before my 4 day Christmas break I'm hoping the day goes by quickly especially since there's really nothing going on. I got almost all the presents wrapped last night and got a lot done around the house. Just have to finish up a few things tonight.

I made it the last 5 days staying in my calorie range!! I haven't had that kind of streak in a long time. I have chicken in the crock pot for dinner and plan on getting a little walk in after work tonight.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Evening all.
Spent the last 3 days sick, and finally feeling better some.
Got out for a walk today, played with my new camera and got some good shots!
Had a good food day too.

Spent an hour and a half video chatting with my daughter.
She is due in March, I hate living long distance from her but we are moving in 2017 to be closer. I can't wait. Will be my first time being a Meema.

Michelle-- I'm so glad your daughter is in a good relationship now and has a happy family! She deserves it!

Just like with you all its cold here. I am grateful that we have our utilities paid in the apartment so heat is not an issue unless we run it up too high (but we are prudent with it). So many don't have that option. Here at the library there are people daily hanging out from the Salvation Army. They have to leave by like 8 am and can't go back until evening. So they are left outside unless they come here. Its disheartening.

As some of you know my son tried to commit suicide just about 2 weeks ago. I am glad to report he is doing much better. He still has issues that way heavy on him but we have been able to get some of the burdens lifted off him. I am truly grateful. This holiday season almost turned out so differently!

I hope you all are doing well
Kathleen

My daughter's divorce is final!! Her ex brought is whole family with him - mother, father, sisters and husbands, grandftather, uncle.... But, he showed his immaturity in court. His sister had to be escorted out of the courthouse. When they all left, she stayed in the courtroom for an extra 15 minutes talking to the female officer there. By the time she went to her car, they were gone.

She has a lot of mixed emotions today. Relief is biggest, but also anger at her ex. I talked to her, and helped her realize that she shouldn't be angry, but thankful. If she didn't go through what she did, she wouldn't be where she is now with a beautiful daughter and a man who loves her very much. Now, she start 2017 right - starting their life as a family!

Feeling overwhelmed this week. Need to bake more cookies. I never wrote out cards, but think it is too late at this point anyway. I still have shopping to do. I did hubby's birthday shopping today since his birthday is tomorrow.... I have training an hour away on Thursday and work the evening shift that night, work Friday night, and work 10-5:30 Christmas Eve. My tree is not decorated, and nothing is wrapped. Head out to my daughter's "in-laws" on Saturday night two hours away. Just feel like screaming that there is never any time!!!!
(Sorry for the rant)

Going to bake some peppermint melt away cookies and do some laundry tonight. Little by little....
