Kathleen---I do find you very motivating. Glad to hear from someone who was at where I am, and is where I want to be weight wise.

Today's a great day, I am a homeschooling momma so much of my day is what I choose, so we woke up a bit late--I blame the rainy weather we've had. But after a healthy planned breakfast we all went for a 14 minute walk to the post office and back, since we had to mail some stuff. Healthy lunch, some of the huge pot of soup from the weekend, and dinner is in the crock pot. Planning on doing another short walk after lunch, finishing up school, then I will be running errands.

The hubby mowed the yard, so tonight we will be doing a family fire, we have a fire pit, and I am saving enough calories for a S'MORES.

Love family time, and being outside!

Cheers emoticon

Hattie

Goal 1000 fitness minutes/month!

I had a great weekend. It was my husband's birthday last week and so went to my in-laws Saturday to celebrate. We found out at his annual exam that he now has high cholesterol so NOW he's on board with eating health. Luckily for the both of us, his mom is 98% eating healthy and clean. So... where I have SP to help us on usual daily things, he can also hear it from his mom with open ears. :-)

This coming weekend, my MIL is coming over to help us clean our pantry and fridge and then we go shopping.

My hubby is the usual cook, so the 3 of us will sit down and discuss meals before going shopping.

I'm excited about it as I've been trying to eat cleaner on my own and now we have each other for support.

Since the exam, we've already been taking walks around the farm... now it's getting our diets on the right track.

Pray. Hope. Don't worry.

Hi Hattie, Weebot, Tammy, Booklover, Trixy, Peace/love/joy, Michelle

Tammy-- would you mind sharing one or more small goals you have set for yourself to start your return journey? I'd be more than happy to cheer you along emoticon emoticon

Booklover-- CONGRATS on the 2lb weight loss WTG!

Trixy-- way to keep pushing even if not up to it! emoticon

Peace, love, joy-- great to see you. Glad you are still around emoticon

Michelle--way to go on your walks and cleaning. I just upped my daily goal to 4 miles a day but alas...its not a lake I walk around lol-- I can dream

My day started out SOOO well today. I got up early (for me), got out and exercised, listened to a motivational tape, cooked for my son who will come by tonight, went to the library and got another great book to motivate me....

and then hit a bump. I had to face someone and some feelings and choices and plans.
It didn't feel good but I learned some things. What was--- in fact was never what I thought it was. And my grief is in the loss of what my perception was not in what actually was occurring.

Grieving for something that didn't exist is pointless. It may have felt a certain way but that was based on my perception. Now I can focus on bringing into my life what I really honestly want for my life. Its not good enough to settle for pretend, I want the real experiences.

So without tv to just numb out to-- I had another cup of coffee and headed out the door for 2 more miles today and a trip to the library for SP time. First thing I found in my mail box was a goodie of encouragement.

Goodies. What a wonderful invention. They mean so much unbeknownst to the giver.
needless to say I am back inspired like I was this morning. I wrote a quick thank you to my goodie giver and I'm off to go encourage 5 other sparkers. this is my new daily goal -- I hope it helps them because I get a little lift from doing it and it wouldn't be fair if it was one sided LOL

It may just be what that person needs to get back on track.

So happy to see some old familiar faces and some new ones!! I love seeing people in the chat thread! When I lose motivation, I focus on how much better and accomplished I feel after my workout. As for diet, I focus on how much healthier I feel. Hope that helps some of you that are struggling.

We can do this! We are strong and we are Sparkers!!!! emoticon emoticon

Had a busy active, and productive weekend. I took our 4 mile walk around the lake Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday, I cleaned our oven. I am really bad with household chores. I think it had been 7 years since it's last cleaning. Yikes! I tell people - " I don't clean, I sew" :)

Back to more hours this week. I had a little bit of a break last week, since we were closed on Easter. But, the manager is interviewing someone on Wednesday. Hopefully, it works out. It's hard to plan anything when you don't know what weekends you'll have off..... I haven't even planned any camping trips yet..

Time to quit making homemade soups, and switch to salads. Making a fruit based pasta salad today for lunch with some fresh veggies on the side. Hope everyone has a great day!

BookLover501 I feel your pain, but you will get through it. Just don't give up. Keep the faith. And congrats to your daughter!!!

I was sick all week last week and had no energy to do the exercises I was normally doing. I still did some, but not rigorous. I would have fell over. But I am back on the mend, feeling better today and just trying to push through the little bit illness I have left. I'm just hoping to meet my goal.

This weekend was not my best weekend! I've felt like I've had no energy at all. I don't know if it's the weather or what (suppose to rain for the next 3 days here). I had to make myself go to the gym Saturday and I didn't even go Sunday but Monday is a new day! I have lost 2 more pounds and that has made me feel a little better. Will see how workout goes this evening.

On another note my daughter did make my day yesterday. She texted me that she won the Most Outstanding Academic Performance award at the Athletic Training Program banquet at Western Caroling University.

So... It's been a long time since I've been active here on SP. Once I started college and returned to work after my layoff I fell completely off the wagon. Over the last 7 months I've gained back all 23 pounds I'd lost and a few more on top of it. I'm laid off again, so perhaps I can finally make some "me" time and get that weight off again. I really need to find a way to balance it all out. For now, I'm back to baby steps and hoping I can be below the 200 mark before summer is out. I still have finals to get through for this semester and we're moving the first week of June so I have a ton of packing to do!

I hope everyone is doing well. I would appreciate any kicks in the butt you all may wish to give me if you see that I'm slacking.

Happy Monday.

Hattie, good luck kicking off your healthy journey emoticon

I had a nice low-key weekend, just what I needed. I'm feeling ready to tackle another busy week. I need to focus on whole foods and no gluten I think I'm going to do a round of The Whole 30. I've got some inflammation and achiness that needs to go.

I hope you all have a wonderfully healthy day emoticon

Happy Sabbath All!!!

Today was packed with church, and then a baptism later this evening. Crazy busy day for our family. Luckily I did all that planning on Friday=)

I made a quiche Saturday so that all I would have to do is reheat for breakfast, and I also made a HUGE pot of soup, that we had for dinner, I made 3 lunch single serving size, and even froze 2 extra quarts for nights when I just feel meh.
** I also cleaned the kitchen up completely BEFORE bead---I think this was huge for my mindset. I HATE finding dirty dishes in my sink in the morning--it just makes me crabby.
So I prepped and this morning went off great, the hubby even cooked bacon in the oven so we had a nice family breakfast.

SO yeah ready for tomorrow, when we officially start.

I did do yoga Saturday though, I was having some low back pain--and was amazed to discover by the time I was done with the yoga it was gone, emoticon
So yeah, going to be doing yoga everyday to help with my Fibromyalgia.

Vicky--I live in Trenton, Il about 30 minutes away from STL--but I just say STL because NO ONE has ever heard of where I live, LOL. We love St Charles, especially the historic area, but I try not to go too often--Grandma's Coconut cookies are my fave. My hubby works at Manhein in Bridgeton.

SOO excited for tomorrow--to officially start. emoticon

have a great night all!!!

Cheers, emoticon

Vicky- I have never had a facial or a massage... I'm jotting them down on my goal list! Hope you enjoyed!

I was reading in a Zig ZIglar book about how we are VERY productive the day before a vacation. More so than for even 5 days combined in a normal week. He listed 10 things we do with our behavior that ensures we are all caught up and productively ready to go. It allstarts with a "to do list".

Do to my circumstances I have the "luxury" of doing what ever I want with my day in any order I want. But playing it as it goes has kept me low, unproductive, and in poverty.

So just for today-- I set a "to do list" as if I was going on vacation tomorrow.
I will post and let you know how well I did. It all boils down to my self-discipline.

Its rainy off and on again today -- but with this new idea of a trusty umbrella (lol) I have done 2.5 miles and plan on two more before bed. I am stretching my goal today from 3 miles to 4 miles. Partly because of Sparkguy's blog today:

Kathleen, I love the stuff you post!

Wen, I feel for you. Hopefully you can get some people hired and take a little time for yourself.

Hattie, we are practically neighbors! I live just outside the St. Louis area over in St. Charles!

Worked at the school Friday night and Saturday morning. Bands and choirs came in from all over and performed in front of judges. It's organized chaos and I think it went over well. Spent the rest of yesterday just relaxing. Today is full of house cleaning and working on volunteer stuff. Then I'm getting a facial and massage late this afternoon. I'm long overdue!

We have stuff going on this week but it's not too bad. I need to work on getting my exercise in!

hmm guess what--
an umbrella kept me dry as I walked in the rain today.

and what's more-- I noticed the postman didn't have one but he kept trucking on.

Jumping in on Monday, so I planned next weeks dinner and breakfasts, and got most of the shopping done. It is cold and rainy here in the St Louis area, so planning on doing a big batch of soup tomorrow that I can do for lunches next week. Also batch cooking some breakfast muffins and fritattas---even though I am a stay at home homeschooling mom, it is easy to skip breakfast, and I know it's not healthy. So planning and freezing is going to be key for me, but that will wait until tomorrow.

Not motivated to make dinner tonight,so I am thinking cans of soup, or cereal and just snuggling in. Been a long week with the hubby in Chicago. Just want to rest.

Hi Everyone

Michelle I hope you feel better.

I did get to volunteer yesterday. It was wonderful. I was also encouraged to sign up for more hours in April and May. It really feels good to be helpful!

My friend chose not to stay which is good. There was other stuff going on that I was unaware of.

Yesterday was GORGEOUS but I just was not motivated to get out and exercise-- so I didn't. But today I am getting out there and doing it.

I have been feeling a bit aimless lately so tonight I am going to quite myself and try to come up with a new focus that might inspire me.

I hope you all had a good week even though its been busy for most of you.

Happy Friday everyone. Like many of you, I've had a crazy busy week. My motivation has been lacking, but I convinced myself to do a 20 minute workout last night. It was hard to get started but of course I was glad I did.

Work is intense right now. My 2nd in command so to speak gave her notice. I restructured my staffing plan and sent it to my director for approval. I'm looking for staff, training new hires and I have to get ready to move to a new building the fist week of June and then I'm expected to double the size of the program. Times like this are when it's hardest to take care of me, but also the time that is most necessary. I counsel caregivers on that all the time but I'm bad at taking my own advice. I need to work on that.

Anywhoo, I hope you all have a great day.

HI guys!! Things have been crazy for us this week. We've had something everynight this week. I have to work at the school tomorrow after I get off work and then be there again at 6:30 in the morning on Saturday. Then Sunday is going to be Vicky day!! I get to sleep in and get a massage and facial.

Tonight was senior recognition night for Taylor. It was to celebrate kids that were good students and good behavior. Can't believe high school is coming to an end in a month!!

Kathleen - Hope you got to go volunteer today and hope that your friend made it safely!

Worked a short shift today. Came home and took a short nap. I felt a little better this morning, and sinus pressure seems a little less. I am sure this damp weather is not helping. We had quite the electrical storm last night!

Been having trouble getting the motivation to work out lately. I bought a drink mix that has ginseng, ginger, turmeric, etc... for energy. It worked! Had a great walk on the treadmill in Sweden! (via Youtube)

Did some research on candida overgrowth. Looks like a possibility for me, and seems that sugar and yeast makes it a good breeding ground for bad bacteria to grow in your gut. So, I am gong to use a strong probiotic for the next few weeks (I take a regular one now), and start watching my sugars a bit. I thought the Spark Tracker would help with that, but I don't see it on the daily report. I can't even add it. I can add sucrose and fructose, but it doesn't track it.

Hubby is on his way home tonight. Been a long week. My body seems to think it is a day later than it really is....

I was supposed to go in to volunteer today but they haven't been given the information and material needed to put the bulletins together yet. So I have some time before I may or may not get a call to come in.

I'm reading a book (well ok I have ADD so I always have like 20 books on hand so I can jump topics as my inattentiveness sets in) any this one is about moving from procrastination to productivity. I realized I suffer from "Getting-ready-to Get- Ready" syndrome. That is so ME !! I'm constantly thinking I need more research, more experience, more understanding and on and on BEFORE I can start. ugh. this resonated with me through and through. I also suffer from "Analysis-Paralysis". I overthink everything until I think myself our of a project and or "feel" unworthy to pursue a goal.

UGLY! but true. and EXHAUSTING.
the answer is to take action. He suggests even just 15 minutes a day; along with accepting that the course will weave around as I learn and develop, make mistakes, make adjustments and that NONE of that can be seen from the start of the trail. I have to take a step fwd, then another, and another until I come to my own stick in the path. Then and only then can I decide what would be best to do.

so logical and so simple.

A friend of mine was making a long trip to see me last night but never arrived. At 2:30am I texted to find out where they were. No response. So I went backto bed. This morning I got a text that their phone had died and she couldn't contact me. So I asked where she was. But Haven't heard back for over an hour. I'm just gonna keep going with my day. She is an adult. If she needs or wants me her phone is on again obviously so she can contact me. I can't do my normal thing and keep checking on her-- that's neurotic lol

It looks like good weather to get some good walks in today. That will help.

Worked a short shift today at work. And I was very thankful!! It was a very slow day at the store, and makes for a long day!!! It gave me time to do some research though. I am going to try taking Vitamin A with beta carotene. It is supposed to be good for healthy mucous membranes. That sounds like a sinus cavity to me!! I also read something on the internet that spiked my interest too. Anyone ever hear of Candida Overgrowth? Wondering if that is a possibility of my problems. First, I need to be sure that is a real thing......

Came home today and did some sewing. I finally finished that custom organizer tonight!! WhooHoo! Now, I just need to make a matching seatbelt cover for her to use as a shoulder pad. Feels good to have it finished. Always nice to have that reminder as to why I don't do custom orders anymore. I just don't handle fatigue, etc.... very well and can't make deadlines.

Feeling a lot of sinus/ear pain tonight, and plan to go to bed early. Hope I can find a solution soon. Though I am sure my sinuses are due to the weather and having the windows open.

Kathleen - That is awesome that you will be volunteering!!! Kudos to you!!

Caved last night and nibbled on some Easter dinner leftovers. Got up this morning, and put organized and froze them (before I finished my first cup of coffee). Out of sight, out of mind!! Not letting that holiday mess up what I've been working so hard for!

I called my ENT yesterday to get in to see him. My ear has had a dull ache in it for about two weeks. They called this morning to tell me that they squeezed me in at 12:40 today. Glad I worked the evening shift today! Don't you think they should ask if I'm able to come in then??!! Saw the doctor, and was told that my ear looks exactly as it did in February. Grrrrr....... I am wondering is my swollen sinus cavities are causing all this. I plan to do some research to see what natural inflammatories are out there.

Worked a five hour shift today. With the store being closed on Easter, I have had some "normal" shifts this week. I'll take it while I can!!

I started volunteering today. They started me out on the phones. UGH slight panic-- what calls might come in? who handles what? what do I say? BUT it was a perfectly slow day. Only 4 calls in 2 hours. So I had time to settle in and not have anxiety. I get to go back on Thursday. emoticon

I have a Dr appt at 3. Its across town so I will get my mileage in today!! emoticon

Vicky-- that's adorable about your dog!

Hope everyone had a great easter!!

I enjoyed every minute of our sleepover last Thursday with Anastasia! Even if she did not want to go to sleep....LOL She fell asleep around 11, but woke when I moved her. Then, she was up until 3. This time I let her sleep on my chest for a couple of hours before trying to lay down in bed. Two hours later she woke up, very disorientated and freaked out. She didn't know where she was, or where her parents were.... I fed her some yogurt, and she fell asleep in my husbands arms, so I went to bed. We all got up around 11. I made her some french toast and gave her a bath. Then hubby dropped me off at work before heading down to give her back to Mom and Dad. All in all, it was a success. I expected her to cry for hours....

I worked Friday night and Saturday, so it was pretty busy for us. Then, getting food prepped Sunday morning for our casual Easter meal. I put the slices from the spiral ham into the slow cooker, before making a veggie tray, fruit salad, and a pasta salad. .... and of course dessert! We had my daughter, her fiancee, and his mother up with Anastasia of course! It was nice and such a beautiful day!!!

Today, I worked an 8 1/4 hour shift. I was so exhausted when I got home. I did my treadmill walk, and some chores around the house before finally relaxing......

Good to see you Nessagirl!!

Kathleen, sorry to hear about your cousin. I'm glad to see you going in the right direction. And thanks for the goodie you sent me!!

Easter was good. We couldn't find one of the hidden eggs. Thankfully they were all fake. I found it this morning in my dog's pile of toys. Guess he thought he was supposed to look for them too.

Nessagirl-- glad to see you back and hanging in there!! Very nice to have you here!

Vicky-- how was your Easter/ I hope it was blessed!

God is good! I was reading and exercising a lot yesterday as the library was closed and my data is on slow now on my phone. I hit a real lonely spot and out of the blue an SP friend texted me in the midst of it and we had a delightful chat.

Church was really nice last night. Then I slept (literally) 16 hours....and then forced myself up. Literally forced myself to sit up and stay up. Guess I really needed it. Perhaps it is staying off a small illness-- if so I am truly grateful

Over the weekend I found out that my cousin (who had a mastectomy to the bone last year and was then given a 100% clear bill of health.... and in March was found to have a spot on her lung) now has a baseball size mass in her lung. She is in her early 50's...never smoked...never drank... watched her food...great fitness. Its devastating.

Then I read this blog (that I encourage for us all to consider)
http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_j
ournal_individual.asp?blog_id=6349555

and I have decided to NOT let a day go by wasted. I have been given so so much. I am a former smoker. I am a former practicing alcoholic. I have been up to 287lbs three times.
I am currently on disablility for a mental condition which does not give me stability...so I have the time to commit to making each day extraordinary. This is my pledge for today and my future.

PLEASE Y'ALL HOLD ME TO THIS.

I pray you all are having a beautiful Monday
Kathleen

Kathleen, glad to see you are taking care of yourself and that you are in good spirits.

I've been trying to play catch up the last couple of days. I have an easy Easter lunch to cook tomorrow. Just baking a ham and making a salad. My daughter is making the deviled eggs and mom is bringing some mac and cheese. Then we're going to my inlaws for dinner.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Michelle-- how was your precious sleepover?

I've gone through some upheaval this week but I am in very good spirits. I will be living alone for a while. At least the next couple months I believe. The landlord is resigning me a new lease so I can get some help with finances. But things are really good. I have plenty of good food and I am exercising daily. Could stand to drink a bit more water daily though-- I'm working on it. Starting next week I will begin volunteering at my church so that will give me something to look forward to and help fill my days. After finding out that I'm down to 198 I am very encouraged again to keep at this.

I hope everyone is well

Hi everyone! I had a great week at our home office. I got to meet a lot of people I talk to alot. Finally after all these years!! Just had a lot of internet issues at the hotel. Was sort of able to get on at the office but couldn't access the system. I'm playing catch up today but just wanted to check in here.

Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!!

Hi everyone. I had a crazy busy week. I have a much needed 3 day weekend off.
Eating has been mostly whatever, but I have been exercising so not a total bust.

I plan on doing some shopping today and stocking up on healthy foods. My cupboards are looking bare. It's supposed to be nice out, so an outdoor walk is on the agenda too.

Have a guest in town from Germany, so we've been eating out more than we normally would. I try to order as well as I can. I've been drinking a bit more this week, but not a crazy amount. Lots and lots of exercise.

Relaxing this morning for a bit before heading out to meet my daughter. I am bringing Anastasia home with me for our first sleepover! I'm sure it will be a long night, but it is good for Anastasia and Mom. And, as for me, it will be a good tired. Nothing brings smiles better!!

I'm taking her with my grocery shopping, and maybe even a trip to the park. The temperature is supposed to be pretty nice out :)

Worked my 7 hour afternoon/night shift last night. It's not a bad shift. I just prefer mornings. It forces me to get up and move right away...LOL I came home and did my treadmill walk last night. After that, I was just exhausted, and slept pretty well too. Hopefully, I can get this sleep thing under control!

Another afternoon/night shift tonight. Hopefully, it is a better night with customers. I kept busy, but I like the interaction better.

Feels so good to be eating normal again. You just feel so much better! Hope everyone is having a good day!

Enjoyed my mini vacation seeing family and friends. My step mom does not eat healthy, so no fruits or vegetables in her house...LOL But, I tried to watch my portions the best i could. The scale showed no gain, just maintaining from the last weigh in. I am more than happy with that!

Had a scare on my drive home yesterday. A semi tried changing lanes when I was right next to his bumper. I had to slam on the brakes. I could have been squashed like a bug!!! emoticon Seems like I am having more and more incidences like this. The drivers just don't pay attention like they used to.....

Ran to Aldi's for a couple things last night, and enjoyed a nice dinner at Applebee's on the patio. It was such a beautiful night, and a great way to spend some quality time with him, since I was out of town all weekend. You have to savor those moments when you can!

Today is the first day of the new schedule/ increase in hours. I will be working more nights. But, with my sleep being off that may be a good thing. I will still open a few days a week (like Thursdays, so I can still go to my knit group). Today, I don't start until 2:45. I am enjoying my lazy morning easing back into routine :)

Enjoy your day!

Today was a great day! I got a lot of my volunteer stuff organized and put one fundraiser to rest. Tomorrow I'm heading down to Memphis for a couple of days for work. It will be nice to finally meet some of the people at our home office I talk to all the time. And we get to take a tour at the big fed ex hub there to see how it runs. It will be cool to see. I'll just have to stay awake for it. It doesn't start until 10pm.

I think my eating will be ok this week since I'll be in training/meetings most of the day. And I plan on getting a walk and a swim in at the hotel. So glad there's an indoor pool.

Belinda, I hope your son is doing ok. Kudos to you for going without the surgary drinks. I'm such a Diet Dr. Pepper addict.

This has been a crazy week for us. We had another band fundraiser event last night. It went really well, but man am I glad it's done. It was a lot of work. Now I can just concentrate on the senior graduation party!

Today was my daughter's senior prom. She looked so pretty. It's so hard to believe that she is almost done with high school.

Oh my gosh y'all. I just did my first lunch time work out on my own since I quit boot camp classes 4 months agon... no one else pushing me to go... no one watching me. I feel so good.

Of course when I got to the work out room, there were other people there (that I did't know) who encouraged me for coming today, showed me the ropes where I asked... it was so nice.

Every time I go work out somewhere/anywhere, there are people there to encourage me... I need to learn to keep going.

After today's workout, I left with a bounce in my step and the desire to do it again next week (b/c I'm here at work). And for the weekend I plan to keep up the walking around the farm w/the family b/c that is fun too.

Pray. Hope. Don't worry.

So thanks you 2 for the added support you shared with me.

I've been doing well w/o drinking any sodas or sugary drinks the last 2 days. I would have posted yesterday, but God had other plans for me - after a field trip/tour to 6th grade/middle school campus that I got to go on too (I got a LOT of walking in btw), my son broke his arm so we spent the rest of the day traveling to and fro the hospital ER. The day was awfully stressful, but I didn't allow the stress to ruin my healthy eatings/drinkings.

Today, I've done some much needed strength training for my core and some outside walking as it is just gorgeous weather today to not be outside.

Pray. Hope. Don't worry.

Weebot - I thought the same thing! Had a dragon fruit today. It was much more appealing, but a much milder taste than I was expecting. Back to oranges tomorrow!

No exercise today. I am just exhausted from lack of sleep. I fall asleep well enough, but am restless 13+ times a night. (According to Fitbit) I just have trouble staying asleep. I am packing tonight, so that will be my workout....LOL After work tomorrow, I head down to visit with friends and family. I work a short shift, so should be on the road by 2. I don't know when I'll get down there again. After today, there are only two employees working at the store - myself and the manager. My hours will go up, and I'll be working more nights. But, with my sleep issues, that may be a good thing. The hardest obstacle right now is not having someone to cover hours if time off is needed. So, no vacations for now..... I'll take weekends off here and there, but will not be abusing it.

I'm making hubby stay down there one extra day, so we can hang out. We will be visiting with my cousin and his four kids tomorrow night. Friday, my daughter is driving down. She will visit with my step mom, and we will hang out with her great aunt that evening. She is my ex husbands family, but we consider them family. That is the family that my husband stays with during the week. Saturday, my sister is coming to my step mom's for an afternoon of playing cards until I meet with a friend for dinner. Sunday, I will meet with my brother and his wife for brunch before heading back home. My weekends down there are always busy, trying to squeeze everyone in. But, I am looking forward to it!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Brenda, we've all been there and that's why we're all here looking for support. I'm glad you have a friend to lean on.

Michelle, that melon looks gross...lol

Hi everyone. I hope your week is off to a good start.

I didn't want too, but I made myself do an exercise video after work. Of course, once I was done I was glad I did it. It was mostly upper body, so tonight will be lower body.

I bought a butternut squash yesterday to get out of my veggie rut. I'll cube it and roast it in the oven with some olive oil and salt. Dh isn't working this week, so I'll talk him into grilling some pork chops for me.

Just a suggestion.... But, when you want a Dr Pepper, try to focus on how good you feel when you are not drinking them. That has been the center of my motivation. I feel good, so I will continue. Even if the weight just trickles off.....

I had planned to get up at 6 this morning to get my morning workout in. My morning shift started an hour earlier due to a conference call. I was so tired, I could not get out of bed. I made sure I walked on the treadmill tonight!

I tried a new fruit today called Horny Melon. It was weird. You cut it in half, scoop the seeds out with a spoon, and eat it. It kind of tasted like a watery sour kiwi. But, it looked like I was eating slime!

Cooked a beef and bacon chowder tonight to freeze. I plan to eat it next week for lunch. I will be out of town visiting family and friends this weekend, so it had to be done tonight.

The sun came out this afternoon. So glad the rain finally left! Love my sunshine!

Proly the last week or so I've been pretty down about my wt loss efforts. I've been coming to SP and reading things, mostly eyeballing portion control, and most of all not had much in the way of sugary drinks (especially Dr Peppers).

I would drink 88-96 oz of Dr Pepper every day on weekdays and 44-64 oz on the weekends prior to Feb 13. That day I didn't have any (or any other sweetend beverage) for 2.5 weeks and I didn't change any other eating habits. I lost 2-3 lbs. After that, I had one 44 oz drink/week through this past Sunday. On Sunday and yesterday, I felt defeated and the "what for attitude" and I had 44 oz each day.

Luckily a friend intervened and told me to not give up b/c the answer in wt loss is to not go back to something I know is not helping. She asked how was I doing in exercise and carb intake. She's diabetic so she knows how important it is to look at those.

So, where I moderately walked twice last week, I'm going to continue that this week and bump it to 5 days this week as well as watch my carbs. I'm not removing them all together, but I am going limit them. I also know my friend was right and so decided that starting today, I'm not going to have any more DP, or "splash" of sweet tea w/my non-sweetened tea.

Pray. Hope. Don't worry.
Belinda

I had a pretty productive day today. I took my cat, Medusa, to the vet today. She has lost a lot of weight. After talking, we realized that she is getting sick from her food and doesn't want to eat it. I had bought a cheap brand at Walmart for her to try. The vet was not a fan of that food. I will mix some better kinds that we talked about in with it, and transition her to a Pro Plan from Purina made for sensitive stomachs. Hopefully, this will take care of the issue. Other than weight loss, she acts exactly the same as she always has!

Bought some used books for Anastasia from a group on Facebook. I got a paper box full of hard cover books for $30. What a deal!! There are some oldies in there! Can't wait to start reading to her!. Then, I picked up my dry cleaning, and checked out two pet food supply stores. Medusa was ready to be home by the time we got there!

Made some turkey muffins for dinner. I found the recipe on Spark, but not sure how they found the calories on that one. Mine came out a lot higher than theirs. Glad I don't trust their numbers! It had a lot of flavor though, and I made a quinoa brown rice blend and a salad to go with it. So yummy!

Relaxing tonight with a tea made out of Wolfberries. So yummy and healthy! A much better choice than I cookie to use up those last 20 calories....LOL

Hope everyone had a good day! Mine starts an hour earlier than usual tomorrow!

Michelle

My lack of staying asleep seems to have caught up with me. I was so exhausted by the time I got home from work at 5:30 yesterday. Got up today, and met my daughter and her future mother in law for a meeting with the wedding DJ. We got a lot accomplished! It was also her birthday. It was nice to see her for her birthday, buy her breakfast and mimosas! Came home, and crashed hard for a couple of hours napping. I'm off tomorrow, so I hope to find some time to rest and recuperate!

Wrote my monthly blog with photos for my April progress. It is going slow and steady, but seeing progress. Slow and steady is the healthy way!

Made a chicken and biscuit casserole for dinner that was easy and yummy! Instead of cooked veggies, I just used frozen. Turned out great! Tomorrow, I am making turkey muffins!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Weebot, hope you had a great time with your granddaughter.

Michelle, congrats on the pants being too big!!

Peanut, that sounds like a great motivator.

Taylor's track meet went well yesterday. She got 2 personal records for both her events!! She ended up riding home with me and left her car at school. I had her take my car to work this morning and I plan on walking to her school to get hers. It's about 2 miles away so it will be a good walk.

Have a great day everyone! It's going to be 70 degrees and sunny here!!

Sometimes you need a lazy day and time to just relax. Hip hip hooray for your new pants!

I now have motivation to get my behind in gear.. and event in September with my cousin. She is about ten years older than I and in good shape. She did her first competition in power lifting. She left discourage. I said you will do better next event. She said I don't know if there will be one. I said tell ya what, I'll do it with you. Yup. My dog walking, lifting dog food only behind is going to power lift. We agreed to meet once a month to train together... train, not workout haha. We live about three hours apart so that is reasonable. So tonight, I pack my gym bag. Tomorrow, after work, I workout.

... what have I gotten myself into :s

Weebot - Enjoy your day with your grand daughter!

Had a lazy day with hubby. I should have done my grocery shopping, but will have to do it after work tomorrow. Planning on making a chicken and biscuit casserole for dinner after my evening walk.

Another NSV for me! My work pants are getting too big. emoticon Time to go to Goodwill for pants :) Yay me!! I take measurements on Sunday. Hopefully, they show more than last month. emoticon

Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Friday. It's fun to hear what everyone is up to.

I walked around Walmart on my lunch break for a few extra steps. I did a 20 minute interval video when I got home. That's enough for today.

I have my 6yo granddaughter tomorrow, so I'm resting up tonight. She'll keep me moving, so no need to plan exercise..lol

Thanks for the anniversary wishes! Michelle, happy birthday to your daughter!!

Today was an exciting day for us! Taylor did her official signing to run cross country at school. I can't believe she is going to college in a couple of months. Where does the time go??

We have our out of town reps and a couple of people from corporate at our office today. While it's nice to see some of them, I'm not used to a lot of people being here.

Tomorrow Taylor has a track meet. Hoping her races are scheduled somewhat close together so I don't have to be there all day.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Worked a short shift, but my sinuses were not happy today. emoticon I am sure the damp rainy weather is not helping. I think I will try and see the ENT next week before my trip to visit family. I'll be calling tomorrow!

My daughter turns 25 on Sunday, and we will be seeing her. We have a meeting with the DJ for the wedding to talk about music, etc. and will be having lunch afterwards. I decided to give her my sewing machine that my grandmother gave me when I was 14. I just need to take it in to get tuned up, and then take her shopping for a good first pattern. I am so excited to see her interested in sewing! Something we can share!! emoticon

Working this weekend, so it will be a busy one. I work tomorrow night and 10-5 on Saturday. Makes for a short weekend, but busy. Good thing I love my job! emoticon

Have a great night, and I'll try and check in tomorrow before work!

Finally felt well enough to visit my daughter yesterday. We postponed that visit twice. I did not want Anastasia to get it! I helped buy some decorations for her Minnie Mouse 1st birthday party. I can't believe that is coming up so soon! She will be a year on May 9th! Poor little girl has three or four teeth coming in at once. She wasn't her smiley self, but I did get a couple of smiles :)

Today, was a short day. I had planned on doing some sewing after work, but never heard back from the customer. I took a nap instead. My sinus/ ear is starting to fester, so it almost time to go back to the ENT to prove him wrong. I plan to wait until it is bad enough. No pain, just swollen glands and a swollen feeling in my ear.

Tonight is the leftovers I had planned for last night. I didn't get home from my daughters until 11:00 last night! I came home, and went to bed. I had no trouble sleeping! emoticon

I'm back to my workout routine, and eating healthy. emoticon emoticon Trying to incorporate some different strength training though. Right now, I am working on figuring out how to watch Spark TV on my television.

Happy (day late) anniversary Vicky emoticon

Michelle, good idea starting slow with the exercise.

Kathleen, your too sweet and I love all the little inspirational things you post.

KMTZ..congrats on your successful week emoticon

Janis, I hope your week is going well. It took me a bit to figure out the new layout too.

Hello to anyone I missed.

I had several meetings today, so not much time for movement at work. I did an exercise video as soon as I got home. I stopped at the library yesterday and got a couple books, so I'm planning a quiet evening of reading.

Worked a seven hour shift today. Hubby was still home, and not ready for anything real heavy yet. Came home and made homemade velveeta macaroni & cheese. I don't normally buy velveeta due to the process cheese, but I needed it for the cheeseburger soup I made yesterday. Had to use up the cheese somehow!

Hubby is feeling better, just a bit dizzy from time to time. Bought him some gatorade to take with him, and planned some lighter lunches for him to take.

Started my walks again, but starting out slow. I took a 20 minute walk tonight. feeling much better!

HI everyone! I'm hoping we finally got our internet issues fixed. We had them out yesterday. Got all new wiring inside and out and got new boxes. KNock on wood, it's been good today.

Things have been busy at work the last week. We have some people coming in from corporate and our reps from Chicago at the end of the week. I haven't met one of the guys from Chicago.

Today is my 18th wedding anniversary. We went out on Saturday night. Had pizza and went to a movie. The whole family was going to go out to dinner tonight but we decided to do take out instead. I'm just too tired to sit at a restaurant.

KMTZ-- emoticon emoticon emoticon

You are doing emoticon emoticon

Michelle-- Can I get your spicy cheeseburger soup recipe?

Peanuts mom-- Glad to see you here! HEY give yourself CREDIT and KooDoos for the water! Sometimes just keeping up with one thing helps us from derailing completely til we get back in the swing of things. Also-- I'm on a leader team and we have a lady that posts everyday to the coaches that she is STill NOT HAPPY (all caps -- really) with the new changes. So you're not alone. I personally miss the team points we could give. Not only did I give points that way but I quickly went to my boards that way. I too am still getting used to it... in fact I'm kinda avoiding the start page by just responding through mail. emoticon

Weebot-- I love when you post because you stretch me. I should look for beauty along there. In fact I could act on my thoughts.... I was thinking it wouldn't hurt me to take a bag and wear gloves and pick up some of the trash along that route. Maybe I will when the weather is nice.

So I hit a slippery slope and am standing on the precipice. I looked in the mirror today and likes what I saw. I thought "hey, I don't look to bad anymore". OK you may be thinking this is a good thing. And you would be correct-- EXCEPT-- LOL I'm still over 200 lbs. I sat at 205-212 for 2 years at least in my 30's. i was fine there. I have not been below 200 since Spring 2001. I don't want to get complacent. I do want to push forward. I committed to another chat that I would walk a mile earlier if it wasn't raining at the time. It wasn't so I did. I'm going for another one right after I sign off here.

I have decided to just spark a few subscription boards at a time then go walk or go back home and read then come back to the library for a bit more. So far its keeping me from sinking into my prevalent depression and just staring at nothing and quitting on life.

As many of you have read from me I continually want something to focus on and sink my teeth into (be passionate about) then I quit a little later. I came across this idea a few times recently : we need to know the WHY behind what we do to help us keep at it. Another idea that has been coming up to my awareness is that we are not what we "do'. Truth be told that is what drives me to want something to be enthralled with. I want to be able to say "I do___".
A lot to think on when I put them together. I will let that roll around in my mind for a while and try to relax and enjoy what I have before me.

MPotter - Sounds like a nice relaxing day!

I am so excited that I have made it almost a full week following a healthy eating plan! (I have not done that in a very long time). Tomorrow, I plan on adding in an exercise regime. I feel so motivated to succeed this time! Hopefully, that is a sign that I will!! emoticon

Janis - Feel free to jump in any time!

Woke up very tired today, but not able to sleep. Had a lazy morning watching a bad movie with hubby. We enjoyed each other's company anyway :)

Spent this afternoon making homemade spicy cheeseburger soup for lunches. Then, homemade (sort of) beef pot pie. I used a refrigerated crust....LOL

Hubby is home one more day, so no rush on the laundry. I did start it though. I work a full day tomorrow and didn't want to be rushed tomorrow night.

Hope everyone had a good day. I'm ready to see some sunshine. It's been raining for days.....

Hope I'm not interupting; sounds like I'm jumping in toward the end of a conversation.

I haven't been around lately for a few reasons.
excuse one) haven't been doing anything - eating right, working out, whatever, I have been drinking water but not enough regularly. I drink while I'm at work (most of the time) but fail when I'm not at work.

excuse two) I don't like the new layout for start page. I know it sounds awful but for some reason I am having a seriously hard time adjusting to the change. not sure why. I think because I go online to communicate with specific individuals or groups and the bulk of the page is taken up by randomness.

anyway. I wanted to stop by and wish you all a happy day. emoticon

Michelle, you are absolutely right. I was just having a moment..lol I know what I need to do and I just need to do it. Sorry your hubby got your crud.

Kathleen, great way to handle that stretch of road. Maybe you'll even find a little beauty in that area.

It's probably going to rain all day, so I'll be doing an exercise video. While trying on tops yesterday, I was reminded I need to incorporate some more upper body workouts and try to tone the muscle under my arm fat emoticon

Kathleen - Glad you found a solution to your stretch of road!

Weebot - I think you found your problem. You have to make yourself accountable. It is hard. Set small goals to focus on and grow upon those. Just a suggestion emoticon

Feeling much better! I'm still a little weak, but it gets better every day. My legs just feel like rubber! But.... Hubby got my disease emoticon He was up all night in the bathroom..... This stomach flu must be very contagious! Yikes! I spent this morning running errands and grocery shopping, then disinfecting the bathroom this afternoon. I think I bought all the Lysol and Clorox items on the shelves today! I don't want it back!

Heated up some leftovers for dinner, and heated up 1/2 can of chicken and rice soup for hubby. Been feeding him bananas, applesauce with cinnamon, and emergen-c to replace electrolytes. Glad he doesn't go back until Monday, so he can get his rest.

Washed the towels and the blankets we have been using on the couch today, sprayed lysol on all remotes, door knobs, light switches, and the bathroom hamper. I really went crazy with anything in the bathroom since that is where most of the germs were let out....LOL

The only thing I forgot to do was buy new toothbrushes! Hope everyone is doing well!

Weebot- I could use some self accountability. I did get more miles in today and plan on a LOT on Monday. I really enjoy it when I'm out its just a matter of getting there.

Michelle-- glad your tummy troubles are over. I hope your headache is over to now.

There is a stretch of road on the way to the Salvation Army that disturbs me. I don't know why it just gives me a feeling of poverty, destitution, a horrible outlook on life. Today I chose to do praise and worship while on that stretch and change my focus. IT WORKED !!! YAY

I'm really glad because I have to walk it 3 times on Monday. I really really need to and I don't want to crumb out on my errands over it.

Kathleen, looks like your are racking up the walking miles emoticon
Vicky, our internet options at home are limited and it's very frustrating.

It's finally warming up, so that means rain. Yesterday was nice though. I was able to walk over a mile on my lunch break and didn't need a jacket.

I've been trying to decide if I should try Weight Watchers again. I hate spending the money but I feel like I could use a little in person accountability and support. There is a group that meets on Tuesday nights near my work. I think I might like counting points better than calories. Of course, either way I have to actually do it emoticon

Anywhoo, we're expecting our daughter and granddaughter to visit tomorrow, so I have to get all my running around done today. I'll pick up a few groceries and do some meal planning for the week.

I hope everyone has a great day!

I ate three meals yesterday! WhooHoo! I am still weak, but plan to rest most of the day until work tonight. Thankfully, it is only a three hour shift. I am going back to my tracking today, but not sure if I will reach the full calories I need to eat a day. I'll do my best, along with drinking my water.

Woke up this morning with a headache that just won't quit. Tried resting, but couldn't sleep. Think I'll work on my afghan for a bit.....

Finally feeling human again. Bowel problems are a thing of the past - Thank goodness!! I am still very weak and tired, but I think my lack of food and nourishment are probably part of the cause. I did eat three meals today, and plan to try and go back to my normal eating pattern tomorrow. I only work a few hours tomorrow night, and will be resting this weekend. I had hoped to see my daughter, but that may be overdoing it this soon.

oh Michelle-- my heart goes out to you

Hi Weebot!!!

Vicky-- I can relate in that I won't be able to get online at home for a while.

Apparently we forgot to pay the cable/internet bill this month so all service is out til the 3rd. I bet that doesn't happen again LOL.... while I do a lot of SP online at the library I do like to get on at home. Thank goodness we have a VCR and the library has a 20 checkout limit so we have stuff to run in the background so its not silent for 10 days. This is good though it will get me to get out of the house daily for sure.

We went to church last night for dinner. It was a mexican meal. They had so many left overs we got to bring some home so that will be for dinner again tonight.

I got out for 2.68 miles and will do another 2 or more tonight for sure.

Oh Michelle, I hope you feel better soon. The flu sucks!!

Yesterday and today have been busy days at work. I love days like that. I love my job but I usually watch the clock waiting for it to be lunch time. I think I may switch to a new internet service at home. We have to reset the router almost every day. Then it seemed like it went out every 15 minutes. I hate not being able to get online and do stuff.

March Madness starts up again tonight! I love watching it. And Kansas is still in it so I'm in the lead for our group!

Michelle, I hope you're feeling better. The flu is scary stuff.

Hello to everyone. I have been really busy this week, but I have managed a few walks and workout videos. I had another staff give her notice. So now I'm trying to fill 2 positions, train the 2 new people and prepare to move and expand my program before summer.

I've been struggling with tracking food again. I know I've been over on calories and under on fiber. I need to just break down and buy a new phone, so I can put the app on it.

Oh well enough whining from me. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Woke up this morning very weak and tired, but muddled through my shower to get ready for work anyway. I packed light for lunch. An hour after I got to work, my bowels started acting up - so bad I didn't make it to the restroom emoticon Rinsed out my underclothes in the sink, and put them back on wet. Then, I called the manager. She could not relieve me because she was out of town. I worked my 7 hour shift miserably. Came home, and soaked in the tub. I didn't eat anything today because I didn't want to upset my guts any worse. I wasn't hungry anyway. Forced a turkey sandwich down me, and plan to get to bed. Hoping tomorrow is better!

Found out today that the other employee we have at work gave his two weeks notice. That will leave only two of us to cover the hours at the store......

Enjoy your night!

Michelle

Vicky and Michelle-- good to be back!

my gums are really giving me trouble. I ate lunch yesterday -- rice and soft vegetables. My mouth was incredibly sore (!) for 4 hours after. I finally broke down and took some alieve. then when it stopped hurting I just wanted to sleep because it felt so peaceful. I did better with dinner last night though.

Today is absolutely gorgeous. Its only 37 outside though. I may go home and put my hair up, bundle up and still get out there. I know I would feel better mentally.

I hope you are feeling better Michelle.

Hi everyone. Hope you are well. Life got super busy and I stopped logging in again. Going to aim for once a week as daily seems to be a bit much for me. I am still working out and going strong!

Kathleen - I was so happy to see you are back! I missed you!

I've been pretty busy. I worked all weekend, and then met with my daughter Sunday morning for the entree tasting for the wedding at 8 am. Felt very weird having salad for breakfast!! We decided to with the Pesto Crusted Chicken, and the tenderloin in demi glace. The New York Strip was much tastier, but did not feel it was worth the extra $3 a plate. The tenderloin was still very good. We only noticed it because of the comparison. Everyone drove up to our place afterwards to hang in my husbands "racing bar room". It was a lot of fun. I was very nervous about it. We had my daughter's fiancee's mother here also. We live so humble compared to her. I did not know what to expect. But, she had a great time. She talked about it for over an hour after they left!

Went to work yesterday, and started feeling nauseous five hours in. Came home, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I have the stomach flu..... After vomiting and diarrhea all night, there is nothing left. Sorry if that is TMI.... I haven't eaten anything since 2 pm yesterday. I am slowly eating an oatmeal square to see how I do. So far, so good. I couldn't even keep two sips of water down last night! I know I complained about the scale not moving enough, but this was not my solution!

I had originally planned on going down to visit my daughter to do some birthday decoration shopping. But, I don't want them to get this. Thankfully, it fell on my day off. I plan to rest, knit, and crochet.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Michelle

Glad to see you back Kathleen!

I spent most of my weekend watching basketball. I love March Madness. Only got out for a little bit on Saturday. We had to go to a memorial service. One of Taylor's teammate's mother died. She died of a heart attack. So sad, she was such a good woman!! And scary. Seh was only 1.5 years older than me.

This week is any easy week. Kids are on spring break and there is nothing on my calendar. My anniversary is next Monday so we'll do out Saturday but that's about it. Hopefully I can get a couple of bags of stuff together to donate this week.

Hi everyone!
Vicky- that's great about your husband's promotion!! YAY

Hope you are all well.

I haven't been on here much this month. I got way overly complacent. My whole view of life started to adjust to not only-- not logging in and keeping up, but what comes with that-- slacking off on exercising. I got out for a walk today and got all caught up with my SP message board subscriptions. Hopefully I will stick with it tomorrow and get back to daily activity.
I have a couple cavities. My mouth can get quite sore. I was thinking I may lose weight this way because it hurts to chew LOL. Just kidding. I can't go without food because of my diabetes. But it is tempting. Thank goodness I KNOW that doesn't work.
