Happy Easter! emoticon

Last night I finished moving the last of the things out of my mom's apartment, and then cleaned. It was late when I got home, but I just wanted it to be done! Today I'm going to focus on getting things taken care of around here that I have neglected the past week while I was working over there.

I'm also going to put a chicken on to roast here in a little while. Roast chicken and baked potatoes, green beans, with a salad and some bread will make a fabulous Easter dinner.

I'm also going to haul a load of stuff over to Goodwill today, so I'd better get busy! Have a great day!

Happy Easter everyone. Hope we all eat well today. I did buy a favorite thing it is Strawberry Cream Eggs. My mom bought them and got me hooked. She passed away 5 years ago and that is one of the memories I have of her. I will only eat it if that is the only bad thing I have today. Good luck everyone.

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all have a beautiful day. And I hope we all remember to focus on the people, and not the food.

And remember, each moment is a new chance to get back on track. You never have to wait till tomorrow.

I'm posting these reminders for myself as much as I am posting them for us all. :-)

Take care and be kind to yourself.

Your biggest challenge isn't someone else. It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs, and the voice inside you that yells, "can't!"

But you don't listen. You just push harder. And then you hear the voice whisper, "can."

And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

just checking in to show I have a pulse.....I have always said exercise would kill me....and after that 5 1/2 hour pool cleaning...it nearly (in my opinion not medically) did. I could barely move until Thursday but Tuesday I developed a fever and small cough....Wednesday still with fever and slept most of all day, Thursday and Friday I had to take naps throughout my work day after taking meds to reduce the fever and stronger coughing spells and spasms and today I finally went to the doctor. I have acute bronchitis. I think it was from inhaling bleach fumes while cleaning. I only feel sick when I cough so much I nearly pass out and the accompanied sore throat. Fever gone today....Steroid shot, ( keeping me awake tonight) Cough suppressant with codeine...making me so sleepy I can't see....another cough suppressant and antibiotics. I really think that all this coughing should count as an complete torso work out. My core muscles are screaming more than my pool cleaning legs felt doing all those squats.
Good news it...exercise didn't kill me and I am stronger than the worst it has thrown at me... just hope I don't fall asleep during Sunrise Service tomorrow or my husband's elbow may do more damage. Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Hi Everyone,
I have been honest about exercise not being a priority in my life, but just when I started doing it, I stopped my losing streak. I have added exercise, and kept up with 8 glasses of water, and stayed within my SP allowed calorie range or just over (not more than 100 calories and only a few times).

Exercise appears to have activated my plateau. I am stuck at 199. I lost 26 pounds on a steady losing streak from Jan. 12- April 5, 2014. Now, April 12 and 19, I am still at 199.

I am training on a paddle board with a professional paddle-surfer. It works both to strengthen and tone and can be a cardio workout if sprints are added onto the training. I love it!

A friend says I should take a day off from tracking and eat whatever my little heart desires for one day to get off the plateau, but I don't want to gain any weight back again. I am in One-derland, and I am staying!

I love the taste of food, but I love the taste of life even better!

I joined Skinny Jeans Workout and I actually liked it. Had a hard time doing the Bootcamp Challenge. Not sure why hoping this challenge will be easier. Not sure what's going on with me. I did the January Challenge just fine. I did do the first workout and enjoyed it. Eating is going ok so far today. Hope everyone is doing good.

Hi, everyone. I feel terrible that I haven't been on here much. I have no idea what everyone has been up to - I hope you are all doing well. It's been a pretty rough couple of weeks (I won't go into it here - it's all in my "pity party" of a blog. ;) I just wanted to pop in and say hi to my Spark Buddies. I hope everyone has a nice holiday weekend. I worked this morning and am on call, but hopefully my work day is done. We will be going over to my in-laws tomorrow for lunch after church and I will get to see my sister-in-law who is one of my best friends so that will be nice. I haven't seen her since Christmas. emoticon emoticon

Today we decided to just relaxed and spend time with the kids. The kids had off today for good friday so we played games with them and let them ride their bikes outside as it was nice out. Infact we just came in doors to make dinner and hubby and the boys wanted to watch the Yankees game. Just doing stuff with the kids outside I burned calories and did over 3.3 miles just playing around not bad you know.
Hubby is doing a little better still having some chest pains but like he said there nothing they can do really. He just has to take his meds and not over do it. As for his blood sugar well it been in the 200's range so it better then 500 range you know. He still taking the Lantus pin about 40 units once a day and he watching what he eats and his sugar intake.
The kids are doing good and they enjoying their day off. They all excited about Easter which is this Sunday. My daughter Breanna is excited that she turning 10 on Sunday too. Then my son Karlton is turning 13 on the 25th. So we will be having a big birthday party for all three kids which had birthdays this month. Cause my daughter Jennifer turn 11 on the 7th. It cheaper to just have one big party then three parties you know. I can't believe how big the kids are getting.Boy they sure grow up fast you know.
Got a phone call from my oldest son who lives in NY. He doing good and it was nice to hear from him. He trys to call once in the blue. You know how 21 yrs old are. they have their own life. He mainly called to let us know he has a new boyfriend and he thinking about moving in with him to save on money. I said it up to you as it's your life. He said he loves him and he wants to marry him. If you ask me I tthink he moving to fast you know. But I really can't say anything as I am not there. So I just wish him the best.
The inlaws stop by for a few hours it was nice seeing them. The kids love seeing them. Well that how my day went. Hope everyone else had a good Friday too. Better check on dinner as I don't want it to burned.

I am quietly praying for all of my 40-something community to have the strength to keep on Sparking along with all of the life stresses on their shoulders. Reading about all of the care-giving going on here every day informs us about why we need SP support to remember to focus on ourselves. We ought to always remember to take care of ourselves if we are to be of any use to those all around us who are depending on us every day.

CYCLEGIRL: I try to keep my diet close to the Mediterranean diet, healthy proteins, lots of veggies & few fruits, along with healthy fats (nuts/olive oil).

MAMACMAY: emoticon & emoticon . Spousal support is key for me!

SCARLETHEATHER: Love the sarcasm! I love my free time~ Cheers to yours!

APRIL: emoticon to you for your courage to be strong in a stressful times.

It's Friday and I have been busier than a one arm paper hanger. Woke up at 5 to get my workout in and be ready to go out the door with my GD early. Met up with my folks briefly and then jumped on the shopping wheel. I have to admit, hitting the candy/Easter isle today, proved to be too much for me and when we got home, I did eat stuff, I wouldn't even have bought if Easter was not upon us. I was good and recorded every last sweet impulse and I am still in calorie range...dinner still to come, but salad is on the menu for me, so I think I will be okay. Actually, time to start prepping dinner.

Moving forward I anticipate this weekend to be tough for maneuvering around all the sweet temptations. I am planning to approach it as, life is to be enjoyed. It's a holiday and I come from a large family(both sides) and with all family gatherings revolving around food, there is no avoiding it. This said, I am planning to have smaller portions and no second.

Happy Easter weekend to the team and enjoy your Blessings~

Heather That was me about 6 months ago when I had to move my dad into a nursing home. I am still trying to figure out cooking, as I cooked for him too. I decided since it is just me to focus on me and do things and cook things I wanted to do and eat. I am trying to go for a walk every night after I get home. I'm also going to start and clean 1/2 hour a night since that has been put off for so loooong. Hope everything goes well.

The sun if finally shining to day. I hope this weekend is good. Going to see my dad in the big town where he now lives and if it is nice we are going to go see the city ducks.

TGIF! Happy Friday folks! I am so glad it's Friday. This week has been rough. I had a health scare, coupled with a stressful work week. The health scare has made me take a break from exercise for a few days. And i have been stress eating. Yesterday was really not good with eating.

But today is a new day, and I am going to make it a good one!

I hope everyone has a great Friday and a fabulous weekend!

I worked at my mom's apartment again last night. My sister came to help (I know! I'm amazed too!) Right now it looks like we just have several big things to move out - most of it is being sold. Then I'll just have to sweep and mop, and that will be it. My sister cleaned the carpet last night, and we discovered cigarette burns in the carpet. It was brand new when my mom moved in, so we know it was her. There goes her deposit! Oh well - just one more reason we know we've made the right decision.

My son called me last night to check up, and he asked what I was going to do with all my free time, now that I didn't have to spend every evening at my mom's. And I was like.... "I have absolutely NO idea!" The concept of free time is so foreign! I'm going to have to try to figure this out!

Things are going good and I am doing very good with my eating. Even hubby been eating much better as he trying to watch what he eat now. since I started the Xenadrine 7X I have lost 4 lbs :)
And I am going on day two of not smoking yea for me. I miss smoking but I am doing this for my health and kids. I walk for one mile so far today. Just wanted to stp by and post how my day is going so far. I laid down this morning after the kids left for school. My daughter Breanna is so proud of herself as she been walking the younger sister and brother to school with her older sister Jennifer. Anyway I took a long nap didn't realize I was that tired. But I feel so rested now. The kids will be home soon. I will miss the quiet but I be happy to see them all. The kids have off of school Friday thru Monday. So they have a three day weekend off. As for Easter not doing much just relaxing and enjoying family time. Plus it Breanna birthday Sunday too. Thanks for letting me rat on and on.. Hope everyone elses day was great too..

Thanks for the advice on the Xenadrine and the advice on walking. That a very good idea.

Heather I just got done with cleaning out a house and apt for my dad. Can't believe the stuff he had in his apt and he was only there for a little ofver 2 years. Between the house and apt I spent the last 3 years of my vacation plus weekends cleaning house. I told my sister this year I am going away and not even thinking about cleaning.

Snowed yesterday and today cloudy so my walking is sort of hit and miss but I am pushing thru the pain of my tendon

Hello Everyone,

I am back after nearly a year's absence. My husband is joining and supporting my goals and I believe that it will make all the difference. I was pleasantly surprised when I got on the scale and was 14lbs less than the last year.

It's been a little frustrating this week. I am not doing well at staying in my calorie range. But I will get there. emoticon

COPOOLGIRL - I do better during the week also. I've always loved Mondays. I always feel energized after going to church on Sunday and taking a day of rest. Like I can conquer the world on Monday :)

IWANNAGOAT - emoticon

SANDY1380 - Glad things are looking up for you. Finding the balance between letting kids be more responsible and spending time with them just because you want to is always tough. Maybe let them walk to school, but then take a walk with them after school just for the fact of being with them. So excited you have decided to go smoke free!!! emoticon emoticon Be careful with the pills. I'm always a little hesitant on any type of 'diet pills'. I'm tempted plenty of times, especially when I'm frustrated.

MUNCHKIN 131 - Keep taking baby steps. You'll get there. emoticon

LILSPARKGIRL - Good for you trying the Bollywood dance. Just have fun. Dance like no one is watching!! emoticon

SCARLETTHEATHER - Sorry for this tough spot in your life. Look for the little blessings that are around you daily. They'll brighten your day. Glad you found a home for the cat. emoticon

KATESCAPE - emoticon That's what I'm struggling with. Keeping it in the calorie range - any tips?

MBATKINS - I think most of us do. I started texting calories/steps to my best friend every night. That has helped me.

Good Morning~ Day #18 for me, moving right along. I totally forgot to post yesterday that I am down 1 more pound...See- Ya!!!! Won't miss- ya!!! It's a slow & steady journey, which I am really liking, because after several months, my healthier habits are becoming more natural and to me that's a big NSV. Not to mention, DH keeps saying things, like, "Wow". "Your really sliming down!" Which, helps my ego...lol.

SANDY1380: emoticon on quitting smoking. Best decision I ever made (6 yrs ago 2/6/08). It's going to help you so much...but you know that already. Stay strong! As far as the pills go...please be careful. I tend to be hypersensitive, so I am always extra cautious. Why, don't you keep walking with your kids, it's holds so many benefits; your health, your connection with them, as pre- teens I know they like their space, but this is the time they need you more than ever and what better way to stay connected than some one on one time with mom. Maybe not twice a day, but once a day or a few times a week even. One day you will wake up and think, where did that time go? Just my thoughts and I am SUPER proud of you too!!!!!

SCARLETHEATHER: We are always on the verge of transition or starring it in the face on this journey of life~ glad your handling it all so well with your mom Excellent news about the cat being adopted. emoticon

Scarlettheather--You are doing great with your mom. It is much more difficult to make decisions for/with your elders than it is raising children. It is great to know her cat has found a new home.

Good morning! I'm just dropping by to say hi! I've been staying pretty busy this week, heading over to my mom's apartment after work to get it cleaned out so we can turn in the keys. It's been really difficult going through my mother's things and getting rid of stuff. But, other than a few things that my sister and I have decided to hang on to, most if it is either being sold or thrown away.

I've found someone to adopt my mom's cat. A co-worker from one of our satellite offices, about 2 1/2 hours away is taking him. We're meeting up halfway in between on Saturday. I'm really glad that is taken care of.

Anyway, I better get to work. Have a great day!

Hi well I took all of Monday to rest and rest. Hubby is doing much better the meds seem to be helping. He still have pains but they not as bad as they were. He has a inflammed chest wall which takes time to heal they said. Yesterday we took some time to go shopping and get some food. I didn't let him carry too much either. Hubby got me something called Xenadrine 7X to try cause he knew I been having trouble with weight loss. Have anyone ever heard of it? I started on them today and time will tell if the pills do work. It says to Take 1 rapid-release capsule with a glass of water, 30 minutes before your 3 meals of the day for 3 days. Then on day 4 and son on Take 2 rapid-release capsules with a glass of water, 30 minutes before your 3 meals of the day. They say it also has green coffee and garcinia camboga and raspberry keytone in it. I will keep you all posted on if it really works or not.
Also this is day one of me being smoke free. Yes I decieded to quit smoking once and for all. I am so happy with myself cause I am trusting my girls to walk their younger brother and sister to school every day and come home. It was very hard on me to let go a little. I have to let them grow up and so far they love it not having their mom walk them to school and pick them up. It was hard cause I do worry a lot and I just want to preject them but not be that parent who doesn't trust you know. I do miss walking them but they not babies anymore as Jennifer is 11 and Breanna is 10 so I need to start trusting them more. This week has been challenging but I feel good about the decisions I made I am so proud of myself...

I am a Beautiful Woman in side and out, I don't have a weight problem "I have a problem with my weight"

I love making new spark friends, so please feel free to drop me a line and say hello. Keep the spark going friends

MBATKINS--I always had trouble on weekends. The way I overcame it was to plan. Just like the rest of this journey, every day has to be PLANNED. If we fail to plan, we plan to fail. SO...easier said than done, I know, but if you pre-plan before the weekend, it helps. You can even "plan" on eating out if you're on the go, just decide BEFORE you go what you're going to have. Hitting Taco Bell? Have a crunchy taco-fresco style (150 calories) and a bowl of pintos-Fresco Style (about 160) and you'll be FULL. My personal favorite is to grab a plain side salad from Burger King or Wendy's and throw the beans on top (yes, requires two stops--but they're usually in close proximity to each other). That gives you some veggies and FILLS you up for just over 300 calories if you eat the taco, beans and salad.

I also take snacks with me. If I have things that need to be cold, I pack my small cooler with ice packs. Then you're not tempted to grab something not so good for you when you're hungry.

Good luck and a reminder that the journey isn't by any means EASY, but it's WORTH IT when you FEEL better and start loosing some weight! :-)

Good Morning,

I am new to this site and I was wondering if anyone else has issues tracing on the weekends. I do ok during the week when I am at my work computer all day but on the weekends when I am running around like crazy I forget. Even though I have the ap on my phone it isn;t as easy as the computer so I will say, Ill get on line in a minute and I never do. Just curious if anyone else has/has this issue? How'd you solve it?

Have a great day!
Working on the new me!

Day #16 hit a speed bump in calories over by 72. I know what has triggered it and I am just thankful I still ate healthy food, just a little too much of it. And I am super thankful, I didn't dive into sweets (my real downslide)- (thanks goodness, I don't have any in the house).

Good morning all! Yesterday was rough. Just.... rough. My mom is not a happy camper. I'm hoping she adjusts quickly.

In the meantime, I've got to cancel her phone, and lifeline button, and O2 delivery. I've got to start cleaning out her apartment and find something to do with her cat. He's always been the only animal, and he doesn't fit in well in our house. We've already got 2 cats and a dog. I tried to bring him home yesterday, but it didn't work out. My sister has tried in the past as well, but she has 2 dogs, and he doesn't do well there, either. He's really friendly, but he needs a home where he's the only pet.

The kid and I are going outside for a night time walk to check out the blood moon tonight. My scale was sticky or it matters that I usually weigh at 8:30 and waited until 1:30. I am going to weigh in the morning. If it's the same, then it's the same.

I tried some bollywood lessons online. It was silly but fun. I cannot dance in front of anyone so when my spouse kept going upstairs, I had to stop. I am the clumsy girl. When I was in my early 20's I tried aerobics and was asked to go to the back of the room - I was throwing everyone off.

Hi folks,

Hope Monday went well for you all. Today has been a bit of a stressful day for me. I'm glad it's mostly over. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Copoolgirl - I'm so glad you liked the calendar idea! I hope it goes well for you!

Cyclegirl - I love those positive thoughts!

Creativeheart - I am so sorry about those negative comments. People can be so cruel sometimes. It is frustrating sometimes that we can be successful in our weight loss but it takes so long before people notice the change, especially if they see us all the time. But sometimes people, for their own reasons, are just negative. But you can make a choice to stay positive and be your own cheerleader. And seek out people who are positive, both in real life and here on sparkpeople. You deserve positivity in your life.

Hope everyone has a great week!
emoticon

Your biggest challenge isn't someone else. It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs, and the voice inside you that yells, "can't!"

But you don't listen. You just push harder. And then you hear the voice whisper, "can."

And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

Thanks you guys for my welcome backs, it is almost like welcome home.

I am down to 17lbs but I was up to nearly 25, So I am slipping a little. I am sure I know why and I have been trying to correct it but for me it will always be an on going battle.
My problem it not night eating, or snacking, or over eating or Lack of exercise. It is not eating enough.
I have to strike a consistent balance between what, when I eat and remember to eat often.
It is not as easy as it seems.
But I am trying .
I had a very busy weekend and I am glad the kids are on spring break this weeks so I don't have to rush. I still get up at the same time but because I have to take Kellie to work with me I won't be able to do my work outs in the AM So they will have to wait until I get out of work, Then I will do my work outs.
We went to a local baseball game on Friday nite and then we went to 6 flags great adventure Saturday, Sunday I had mostly to my self and I worked out in the morning then met up with some of my husband family for brunch and then came home and cleaned my two bathrooms and made dinner. Today I went to work and then took Kellie back to Six flags and we had to walk I would say easily a mile to get from the car to the front gate. Then we walked around for 3 hrs I didn't get to work out this morning or this afternoon because of our little venture but I did get in a lot of walking around the park. I don't do rides usually and today we only got on 4 rides. I managed to eat 2 meals and 1 snack. I am bummed about that but tomorrow is another day. I will make my breakfast before I go to work and take my protein drink with me then I will work out after work and have my shake then come home go grocery shopping and then come home and make dinner.
I am still drinking all my water and green tea so that is a positive.
Keep working on you goals you will reach them. emoticon

Lance is home and he resting, He came home around 4:30am doctors say he has something called costochondritis it's a inflammation of the chest wall muscles. So he has to take it easy for a couple of days. I am just glad he okay and he home. Thank for the prayers everyone. Sorry for not posting sooner but I had an IEP meeting this morning and I just got home. I hated to have left him home alone but had no choice. I am working on little sleep too. Daughter Tiffany is doing great they said and she working towards her goals which is great. They are talking about mainstream her from special ed. I was glad to hear that. Today was the first time I let my two older daughter Jennifer 11 and Breanna 9 take the two younger kids to school without me this morning. I gave them my cell incase they had any problems. I took the chance and I trusted them. I was scared to death you know but they called and they made it okay. They didn't want me leaving dad home alone as he was dizzy from the meds they gave him. Right now he sleeping. Well I am going to try and take a short nap before the kids come home from school which is at 3:50 pm. I try to stop by later during the day.

Happy Monday, Sparkers!!

Kind of a yucky weekend due to the snow here in Denver but hopefully it will be out of here today since the sun is shining ;o) I usually don't say this but I am so glad it is Monday! I do so much better with my tracking and exercise during the week than I do on the weekend so I am hoping for an awesome week!

Rootbeerkid -- You can do it! Keep with it emoticon

TMNORD and Katescape --- You two are very inspiring! emoticon

Want_to_Run and IWANT2DOTHIS1X --- Don't give up! I have the same issue with the weight loss. Nothing and then a few pounds but I am hoping it is because I am not as consistent with the exercise and starting to become better about that will help with more consistent weight loss! I am not weighing myself very often now just so I don't get discouraged...sort of like ARKAIOS this morning. I have the same issues with weekends as well. Eating too much or too little and sleeping later and messing everything up! BUT I'm going to stay positive!

Sandy -- I am so praying that your husband is doing well!! More than 18 years ago my husband had a heart attack at 30 and that was the scariest thing! He is doing well now and I pray that whatever is going on with your Lance that all with go well!

Scarlett -- Hope your bug is leaving you today and your mom does well in her transfer to the nursing home.

MADDOXJAM -- Cleaning the pool sound like an awesome workout! emoticon

CreativeHearts -- Hang in there and just do this for yourself because you are worth it!! We are with you!

April -- Thanks so much for the exercise advise. I looked at your calendar and made one of my own to try and keep me accountable. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the encouragement emoticon

Have a great week everyone!! emoticon

Good Monday morning, all! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had weigh in this morning and was UP a pound. Kind of disappointed, but I really struggle on weekends...not eating too much, eating too little, I think. I tend to sleep in a bit on Saturday, and so by the time I eat breakfast, I've usually had two meals by then. I guess just not being on a workday schedule, it really throws me off. At least that's my HOPE. I worked out yesterday for 70 (hard) minutes, drank over a gallon of water both days, but my calories were around 1100 (mine's set to be 1600-1950). I just hate that seven weeks into this, I see a gain. I'm NOT giving up or giving in, I'm just bummed.

emoticon

TANJAT88--so glad to see you checked in! Hope you're feeling better! Was praying for you!

ROSES17-Good for you taking a rest if you overdid. Listen to your body! :-)

NESSAGIRL67- AWESOME job on your exercise! WOO HOO!

FVUSCMOM- Keep on keepin' on! You've made great progress.

WANT_TO_RUN- Glad you got some needed sleep! Sounds like you're a busy girl, so take care and come back and visit when you can!

TMNORD-You're SO close to your 10% goal! Wonderful job!

KATESCAPE-Day 15! WOO HOO--very proud of you!

GONDIM-GREAT JOB on 4.5 pounds LOST!

Heather-sorry to hear you spent part of the weekend so ill. Glad you're feeling better today. Take it easy and take care of yourself.

MADDOXJAM- WOW on the pool project! It will be worth it, I'm sure but what a job! You'll have to do some pool workouts this summer. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my water aerobics classes and using the noodle and "weights" in the pool. It really is NOT a wimpy workout! :-)

IWANT2DOTHIS1X- Keep on keepin' on, girl! You can do it!

SANDY1380- Prayers for your husband! Keep us posted.

CREATIVEHEART5-I'm so sorry to hear about the negativity that's going on in your house. PLEASE don't listen to that. Come HERE and we'll pump you up!! You have done an AMAZING job with 10 pounds! Maybe they don't see it--when we have a lot to lose (like I do), it sometimes takes a while for others to see it, but REMEMBER what 10 pounds LOOKS LIKE! I like to envision a pound of BUTTER (FAT) and remember you lost 10 of THOSE!! That's FABULOUS! Since you have other health challenges--that's even MORE amazing to me! You're my HERO!!

Have a great rest of the day, everyone. Like some of you all, we had 86 degree weather Saturday and part of Sunday and woke up to SNOW this morning (Wichita, KS) Such a MESS!! UGH...but, at least it's not supposed to stick around, thankfully. Talk to you all soon.

Lost another pound this week. I am proud of myself.
Felt happy until the negative people I live with 1. pointed out he lost ten pounds in eight days and another pointed out 2. I don't look different and shouldn't I see a change if I lost ten pounds. Weird because just minute's before those two comments I thought I looked happy and beautiful. Sometimes I wish if people don't have anything nice to say they just wouldn't say anything.
I wish I could lose weight by just eating better but my body is fighting hard against RA and now not becoming diabetic it is doing the best it can and so am I.

Monday morning already!

I'm feeling much better today. Still a little weak and shaky, but overall a million times better than yesterday! I wish I had another day to hang out in bed or the recliner, but, sadly, my boss thinks I need to work!

My mom should also be going into the nursing home today, unless her blood count keeps dropping. They had to give her some blood once, and I assume if they have to do it again that they'll keep her another day. Otherwise, she'll be going to the nursing home. Luckily, my sister is off today. I'll have to show up to sign papers since I'm mom's POA, but I'm planning on having my sister do most of the heavy lifting today.

Sandy, I hope by now your hubby is feeling better! Keep us posted!

Ouch! Healing hurts. Maybe you can sleep with the sling if you have to work the next day, so you can sleep. Take it off for work, and gradually wean yourself from it. So, it takes a longer time to get back to normal, but you won’t suffer as much. You have got to be able to sleep.

ScarlettHeather-I hope you get well fast! You have a lot of people counting on you.

Katescape-Keep up the logging in and Sparking. It works!

Tanjat-Nice to see you posting again. Missed you!

I want to do this one time- From reading blogs, I can see that we are all heading toward our own moment of plateaus. I am on a standstill at 199 after dropping 26 pounds in three months with consistent losses at all of my weekly weigh-ins until this weekend. Questions that you can ask yourself: Am I eating out a lot lately? Have I had eight glasses of water each day? Why? Water combats sodium bloat from water retention. Eating out adds sodium because chefs like to use salt as a flavor enhancer. Am I tracking accurately and staying within my calorie range and keeping my differential on the positive side? Look at the SP report called “Daily Calorie Differential” and see if you are running a calorie deficit or cutting it too close, so that you are maintaining instead of burning calories.

Julie-I hope you are not too sore tomorrow.

Gondim-I used to think five fruits and vegetables per day was torture. I couldn't do it. Now, I don't see why I had a problem before. I made it to six today with calories to spare. I don't eat processed carbs much anymore. No breads to speak of, not much rice, never pasta...at least not until I hit my target. Then, it will never again be the focus on my plate.

Christi-I gave up TV for SP tracking, community teams (reading and posting), and keeping up with Sparking. I couldn't tell you what has been on TV since January. I do it at night after dinner until I finish. I don't have time to track at work, so I have to record everything after dinner.

IWANT2DOTHIS1X - that is EXACTLY how my weight loss goes. 3-5 pounds in about a week to 10 days and then nothing for 2-4 weeks. I guess I figure that in the long run that is healthier (at least that is what I tell myself!). As long as the scale keeps going in the right direction, it's ok with me! Keep on pushing through those plateaus!!!

Great job finding motivation. It will eventually come off. My weight comes off in chunks. No loss, no loss, 3-5lb drop, no loss, no loss, 3-5lb drop. It's hard when there is not a scale victory but continuing is a victory

Just checking in before my fingers figure out that the rest of my body is done. I just spent 5 1/2 hours scrubbing out our pool. It is the first cleaning since last season. We call it the swamp until we get it cleaned. Mopping, scrubbing walls and floor, sponging out water in to 5 gallon water buckets, lifting over the sides to dump. According to the exercise tracker, I burned over 3 days worth of calories....and my arms hurt with no strength left to eat.... I hope I can move tomorrow but it isn't looking good. I will read and catch up with everyone tomorrow ( IF God is willing) Have a great rest of your nights! ~ Julie

Checking in! Ugh I've got a stomach bug and have spent the day going between the bed and the recliner. That's not how I had planned to spend the day! I started spring cleaning yesterday and I was planning on knocking out another room today. Oh well, it will still be there later!

Day #11 and so far I have lost 4.5 pounds, feeling great! Eating way more veggies, yesterday I tried brussel sprouts they are my new FAVORITE!

CHRISTI- I like what you said about setbacks, it reminds me of a story my WW leader told. She used the example of if you were going on a vacation and got on the wrong highway, you would turn around and get back to where you needed to be. That is my inspiration for losing weight this time around.

Happy Sunday morning, ya’ll. It’s suppose to thunderstorm all afternoon and night, so I went out for a long walk with my 2-year-old and husband this morning. I’m trying to get either a jog or a walk in each day now that the weather isn’t below freezing every day. Yay for spring!

I adjusted my goal weight to reflect 40% weight lost. The tickers are broken into four parts, so it made sense. So as you can see, I’m approaching 10% lost. Give me another week and a half. ☺

CHRISTI – I like your words about setbacks. Yes, we are only human. Yes, it’s okay. Yes, keep moving forward.

APRIL – You’re getting there. I love that your sister noticed that you looked different. That had to feel good. And congrats on figuring out portion control. I’ve been measuring and weighing everything out. I think that has helped a lot.

KATE – Thanks! ☺ And don’t you just love it when people see that you are losing weight. I almost want to hide out for a long time and then present the new me. It’s hard for folks to tell when they see you all the time. Like my husband says he notices my weight loss, but I don’t really believe him. I can hardly even tell.

FVUSCMOM – Despite the scale not budging, it sounds like you are killin’ it. Great job!

WANT_TO_RUN – So nice to “see” you again! Yay for your watchband feeling loose.

Hello, spark friends. It seems like it's been forever since I've logged in. We had a long robotics weekend in Iowa 2 weekends ago followed by 2 days of running around followed by 4 long work days and finally, yesterday afternoon/evening, my niece's birthday party. Whew. I feel like I haven't stopped running for 2 weeks (pretty close!). Welcome to all of the new people - hopefully I will get a chance to catch up a bit on some of the posts. It looks like lots of you have had some great NSV's lately. Yesterday, I noticed that my watch band is loose. An unexpected, but welcome NSV. My weight was up 4 pounds after our weekend away, but back down 2 since then. I'm actually pretty happy with that as crazy as it's been. I haven't tracked or exercised at all so at least the weight hasn't continued to go up. I hit a small snag with my shoulder rehab. I was told that I have to stop wearing the sling because my muscles are getting too tight. It's been pretty painful to not wear it, but I know it has to be done. It makes sleeping tough and I have resorted to sleeping in the recliner a couple of times. It's funny, but the pain is a different kind of pain - I hope that's a good thing. The good news is that after 2-3 weeks of waking up every 2-3 hours, I slept 6 hours straight last night. I was pretty sore when I woke up, but was grateful for the big chunk of sleep. I hope it will continue. I am close to the 3 month mark after surgery, so I'm hopeful that things will continue to improve. The weather is all over the place here too - thunderstorms yesterday and today, looks like snow tomorrow. Gotta love spring. It's been so busy, that meal planning sort of fell by the wayside. My husband and I are both ready to get back on track. Yesterday at my niece's birthday party, my brother-in-law (who lost 40-50 pounds last year), said that he has gained 40 pounds over the winter. All I could think was, "I don't want that to happen to me!" So, I've got my meal plan and grocery list done and am ready to pull it back together! With my shoulder acting up, I'm pretty limited with my exercise, so I've got to control the calories in the meantime. I'm ready to lose the next 15 pounds! I don't know how much time I'll have to be on SP right now as my schedule continues to be crazy, but I miss you guys so much! I'm going to try to make an effort to keep checking in.

Tmnord-congrats on NSV

...I knew the day would come when I stopped my losing streak...remember, I have merely been tracking calories with sporadic exercise, and this week for the first time in three months, the scale did not move. I am only mentioning it because I knew it would happen eventually. This is good timing because I started really exercising this week. I have gone out paddle boarding six days straight.

I have got to keep up the exercise now because the calories are already low, and I still have significant weight to lose.

Currently, my clothes are falling off from the 26 pounds I lost with just healthier eating and portion control according to SP's calorie range.

COPOOLGIRL – I want to try that tracker. Let me know how it works once you get it.

Hello Sparkers~

Had a few minutes while granddaughter is napping. We have been busy today, we have a really great weather day here, low 60's, but after this winter...I welcome those temps & sun shinning to boot so we got out and got active at one park this morning and then will check out another one after nap time. Day 13 still intact and it feels great! I just had a friend stop by who I haven't seen in 2wks and she was like your losing weight, you look great! It felt great!!

INFINITY4U: Glad to hear you were able to bounce back and are so motivated(that is the emotion we all need to feed). Thanks for tip on kale chips...I haven't been brave yet to try, but one of these days. Good luck with your upcoming week.

TMNORD: Amazing!!!! The fact that your getting it done on your own and now are turning BL away! So proud of you....your truly an inspiration!!! Now you know you got this!!! emoticon

CHRISTIHOLCOMB: Congrats on NSV!!!!!

APRIL: Always an inspiration!!!

Have a great Saturday...I'll be checking back in tomorrow~

Happy Saturday folks! Thank you everyone for the kudos on my weight loss and my yoga related NSV! :-)

Welcome to all the new folks! You are in the right place!

My latest NSV was that yesterday I actually measured out and ate one serving of chips! I haven't been able to resist just eating straight out of the bowl or bag in a very long time. So I'm excited about that. This is the biggest thing I need to work on, portion control. The war isn't won yet, but I won a battle, and it feels great!

Scarlett - I did try a beginner yoga video put out by Jane Fonda called A.m./p.m. Yoga. It is gentle and good for beginners, really more like a nice stretching routine. Jillian's is not really good for beginners, more like power yoga....I think that's what you would call it. But I think there are a lot of yoga videos out there that are supposed to be even better for beginners than the Jane Fonda one. I looked on amazon and saw that a lot of people think that Rodney Yee's yoga for beginners is the best.

TMNORD - congratulations on people noticing your weight loss! That is so exciting! When I saw my sister a couple weeks ago she looked at me funny and said, there's something different about you, what is it, you look great! So....she didn't actually say I looked like I lost weight, but I feel like I'm getting closer. ;-)

Katescape - congratulations on your 12 day streak! Woohoo!

Copoolgirl - not sure if this would work well for you, but this month I tried something new for my exercise. I made an exercise plan for the whole month in advance. I was going to do it on one of those big paper calendars with all the big squares for each day to write in, but then found a white board style monthly calendar so I'm using that instead. So each day (or the night before each day) I look at the calendar and do what it tells me to do. Simple as that. I've found that I am very motivated to do what it tells me to do, and work very hard to make it happen. I don't want to have to erase anything! I also draw a flower on each day that I meet my goals. I posted a pic of it and talked about it in more detail in my blog post here if you want to check it out:
http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5657999

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
emoticon

Your biggest challenge isn't someone else. It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs, and the voice inside you that yells, "can't!"

But you don't listen. You just push harder. And then you hear the voice whisper, "can."

And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

Hello everyone! Been up since about 4 this morning (on a Saturday, what the heck?! emoticon ) It's been a crazy busy week! I've spent the better part of the hour catching up with what is going on with everyone! I did manage to stay on track with eating and exercising. Even though the scale didn't move this week I will not be discouraged. My clothes and other people noticing a difference let me know I'm making progress. I haven't paid attention to diet and exercise since I was pregnant with my son and he's 14 years old. It took the better part of 15 years to get where I was at the beginning of the year, thank goodness it won't take 15 years to get to where I want to be!!

For all of you who are not feeling well or have friends and family not feeling well I pray for speedy recoveries for you all!! emoticon

emoticon and emoticon to all the new members! You've chosen the BEST team!!

Congrats to everyone who made progress this week! emoticon

And anyone that had any setbacks...we are all only human! It's not the end of the world. The important thing is that you keep moving forward one step and one day at a time!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm challenging myself...to be more active with my teams. To not let that scale control my life. It's time to stop being so withdrawn and start branching out! I'm hoping my daily schedule will allow me the time. No, I will take charge of my schedule and make the time! Ha! Another break through!! emoticon

Hope everyone has a great weekend!! I'm going to enjoy my mid-seventies and sunshine before Spring hits Houston again next week!! emoticon

Hi, friends. Sorry I’ve been MIA again. Just really busy with my daughter who is on spring break this week. She’s actually taking a nap for the first time this week, so I have a pause to respond to posts.

I’m happy to report that I’m eating well (now that the Potty Party cake and ice cream are gone…ugh!), and I went for a jog yesterday. I’m feeling it today, but I did it and will do it again tomorrow. I really do not like jogging, but I know it gives me results. So I’m doing it.

And I’ve had two friends mention my weight loss this week. Yay for NSVs! Oh, and the show The Biggest Loser contacted me wanting me to apply again. I was close to getting on the show last season. They like my inspirational story. But I was happy to tell them that I no longer qualify for their show – I’ve lost too much with Spark. Woohoo!

LILSPARKGIRL – You are new, and you’ve already lost 14 pounds. WOW! Way to go! And I’m impressed that you skipped Costco because you knew you couldn’t resist the free samples. Way to be proactive.

NESSA – You are always such an inspiration. I love that you are shaking things up with your exercising. Way to go! And 2.5 mile walks at lunch. You rock!

GINGER (SHARON) – Welcome to the team!

GONDIM – Welcome to the team!

KATESCAPE – Way to go on the FOUR pounds in one week. Woohoo! You sound like you are doing awesome – 16 pounds down AND inspiration jeans fitting. Way to go!

FVUSCMOM – How does Onederland smell, taste, feel? ;) It has got to feel awesome. Congratulations! I’ll have to check out some of those reports you discussed. Thanks for the tip.

TANJA – Hope you are feeling better by now and that it didn’t turn into anything big.

PEACELOVE – You are soooo close to your next goal weight. Heck, by now you could be there. Awesome job!

MUNCHKIN – Welcome back! And congrats on losing over 17 pounds already.

LUCKYLORE – Welcome!

LOTTIE – Good luck with your back surgery. Sounds painful.

DEBBIE – Way to stop yourself in regards to emotional eating. That’s a tough one. But you did it!

HEATHER – Way to go on the weight lost!

JULIE – I’m sorry I missed Julie Day. ☺

APRIL – Way to go on your NSV and your SV! You are doing awesome! But you know that. ☺

MOMTOCONNOR – Those injections sound amazing. I have zippo energy thanks to my MS. I’ll have to ask my neurologist if I’m a candidate for those shots. Two pounds down! Doing great!

KAREN – Thanks for the heads up about the new app. I’ll have to check it out.

7MAJORMOM – Here’s hoping that works for you.

MSGIRL – Wishing you just that–luck and success.

ROOTBEER – One, your name makes me want to run out for a rootbeer. ☺ Two, track, track, and track. It works wonders.

INFINITY – Welcome to the team!

Good afternoon, my fellow fitness buddies! Just checking in. Tomorrow is the end of week 1 for me. I got off to a rocky start with some food challenges but I am happy to report I am doing much better. I am feeling very motivated! I discovered a new snack that is wonderful; kale chips! Who knew they were so tasty. I do recommend not adding any salt like the recipe calls for. Kale is naturally salty when cooked. They get rid of any salt cravings without all the calories. AWESOME!!!!!!

Well, I hope everyone has a fun-filled weekend.

The struggle to be healthy is always worth it.

Very productive day here, got all my fitness minutes in and eating is on track, lots of water too day # 12 intact!!

COOLGIRL: Thanks for shout out. Can I suggest that you start doing just 3 10 minute workouts. a quick on in a.m, at lunch break and when you get home. There are lots of coach Nicole workout videos on SP. Try some and see how they fit.

ARKAIOS: Awesome on 7 weeks strong...your inspiring me!!! & thanks for the shout out!

CREATIVEHEARTS: emoticon emoticon

MSGIRLATHEART: Good luck. You have tapped into a very active, support and knowledgeable group. Keep checking in and you will see how much fun we are having!

ROOTBEERKID: Love your name & welcome. If I eat pizza, I have to have a root beer with it! Those days are gone. Tips on not eating after dark...turn on your lights...lol Just kidding, having some fun...LOL Seriously, chew gum, ice or veggies if needed. I do not eat after dinner, because like you, I would have a 2nd meal on the couch-YELP! Also a different tactic is along what ARKAIOS said, keep your hands busy. Play cards, text message, read a magazine/ book or learn to knit (what guys can knit too). After several days, you won't even notice it. Sometimes, I get caught off guard and my old self wants to reappear, but I quickly change my thought and move ahead. The good news is the sun is staying out longer now, so you will have some time before if start getting darker in the evenings to make a new habit. Good luck, let us know what works for you.

Happy weekend everyone. So excited going to pick up the granddaughter in just awhile.

COPOOLGIRL--I have NO ISSUES with the new app. It's much more like the webpage than it was before and you can access a lot more of the options. I LOVE it...very, very happy with it!

CREATIVEHEART5--GOOD LUCK! You've got a great start with that six pounds. WTG!

ROOTBEERKID--I am here because of night snacking. I have never really had an issue during the day (would eat pretty healthy, clean and right size portions), but then I fell apart after dinner. Wouldn't stop snacking. Now (I am exactly seven weeks back on the wagon), I have cut it out COMPLETELY. This works for ME, because I do better if I don't start snacking (cause I won't stop). This isn't for everyone, I get that. BUT, I do have some helps that helped me. If you're craving something do a few things first before you indulge. Drink water or a hot tea or I personally will have a decaf coffee, walk around a bit, find a hobby (NOT TV) to get your mind off food, do some light chores or fix something that's in need of repair. If after 15-30 minutes, you're still craving, then have a small snack (something you've determined will fit into your daily allowance). I tend to try protein, as it keep me fuller longer than carbs or fruit/veggies (again, I'm not currently snacking at night, but my daytime snacks are what I'm referring to). A boiled egg, string cheese, cottage cheese, imitation crab, a little chicken and black beans, a TBSP of peanut or almond butter with a few carrots or apple, yogurt--you get the idea. Hope that helps. We are all creatures of habit and night snacking (for ME) is a really bad habit. Only ONCE last month (March) did I have a night snack. I had a cup of (dry) popcorn and a string cheese. Years ago when I was on Spark and lost 60 pounds, I DID the night snacking, but I would only allow 100 calories or less. There are a LOT of options there. You just have to decide if you're hungry for sweet or savory and then PLAN it out. I used to have a 5 calorie sugar-free jello with a dollop of FF cool whip, a SF popsicle and a dill pickle all in the same night (that's THREE snacks--all low calorie). Do what works for YOU...but maybe set a timer for 15-30 minutes, to make sure you're HUNGRY and not just eating because you're bored or because of habit. If, after the timer goes OFF, and your craving is still just as strong, then YOU make the choice that's right for you. GOOD LUCK! Keep us posted! :-)

Have a GREAT FRIDAY everyone, and if I don't check in, have a GLORIOUS weekend. Keep on making it happen!

Good morning everyone! I'm just dropping by to say hi!

Rootbeerkid (love that name!) Not eating after dinner is a struggle for me, too. I keep a full cup of water next to me at all times. When I start feeling like I want to eat, I drink instead.

I also do keep some snacks around that I can eat after dinner. Baby carrots, little cups of sherbet, 100 calorie bags of popcorn - that sort of thing. That way if I just HAVE to snack, there is something there that won't completely kill my progress for the day.

Happy Thursday!!

Beautiful here in Denver today ;o) Looks like it supposed to be 72 or so...loving spring!

Doing well with the eating this week but not so well with the exercise...any tips appreciated. Trying to do things over lunch if I know I can't get it done when I get home but that can be difficult some days. I did order the spark activity tracker today so I can't wait to try it out. Let me know what you all think of it!! emoticon I am so excited to see if it keeps me more motivated.

SCARLETT --- praying your mom is feeling well enough to get home soon!

Roses --- I want some new shoes.... emoticon

ARKAIOS -- I haven't upgraded to the new IOS system on my iphone...I guess you need this for the app. Did you have any issues with the new upgrade. I'm afraid I won't like it. I always want to stay with what I know.

KATESCAPE --- awesome job!! you are inspiring emoticon

MAJORMOM --- hope all works out with the meds and weight loss....just take it one day at a time emoticon

SANDY -- great job!! Keep it up!

NESSA --- you are making us all look like we are standing still emoticon You rock!!!! Keep it up!! emoticon

Wishing everyone a blessed day! Keep this inspiration coming...I love it!

Good morning! Yesterday was chaotic for me. I got a call from my mom's home health nurse, and before I could make it over there, she had gotten worried and called an ambulance. And so, my mom is back in the hospital. I'm not really sure what's going on with her, but they're doing more tests today.

I made my sister stay with her while she got settled (for a change) so I could go to my son's track meet. A little time in the sun and fresh air was nice.

I'm working today, then I'm going to go to another track meet. It's going to be breezy and 72 here today, so you can't really ask for better in the weather deptartment. Then I'll drop in at the hospital for a visit.

April, that's a great NSV. I have never done yoga, but I've been thinking about picking up a beginner DVD to try. Do you have any recommendations?

Debbie, BLC is the Biggest Loser Challenge. It's a team here on SP, and a new one will be starting soon. I can send you an invite if you're interested.

Nessa, Congrats on being down and all that exercise! Wow!

Hi Congrats to all who lost weight this week. Way to go.

Today was a very warm day as we reach 90's today. But I did manage to walk the kids to school this morning and hubby pick them up in the afternoon cause it was just too hot to walk he said. After the kids did their homework we let them played out side for a bit. They ride their bike and had fun for a couple of hours. I sat and watch them and enjoy the weather too. It felt good to just relax you know. After dinner we took the kids and dogs for a walk it was a bit cooler by then. So I was able to get my steps in. I can't believe this week is almost over. Well I am going to finish posting then go watch some tv with hubby then off to bed as I am beat and tired. Have to be up at 6:45 am tomorrow. Good night

I am a Beautiful Woman in side and out, I don't have a weight problem "I have a problem with my weight"

I love making new spark friends, so please feel free to drop me a line and say hello. Keep the spark going friends

Happy Wednesday Everyone! Today I tried something new. We went to the Riverfront and decided to run/walk the stairs. There are about 6 sets of stairs 13 steps a set. I did 6 sets of the stairs. I ran up and walked down. That was such a great workout. I'm down 4 pounds this week. Have a good night everyone!

Heather – Way to go on the weight loss. That is amazing and I’m so happy for you.

MADDOXJAM – Wow your day sounds very busy. I hope you got a chance to enjoy some quiet time for you.

APRIL_V_2 – Congrats on the weight loss and that’s awesome that you were able to do the position on the Jillian workout video. Way to go.

MOMTOCONNOR2003 – I’m so happy to hear you have energy and way to go on the exercise.

ARKAIOS – I also downloaded the new spark app on my IPhone I too love it! It’s so much easier to use and to track.

I also forgot to mention that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new Sparkpeople app for the iPhone (they have it for the Android and Kindle, too)! It's SO much better than the old one! Happy it's FREE, too. I had the free one a couple years ago, but then when I told my friends, they would tell me it wasn't free. It made me sad...so I am HAPPY now that it's improved and FREE! :-) YAY!!

Thanks for the kudos, team! I feel GREAT today! Went to bed at 9:30 and didn't get up until 6:30...OK, it was more like 6:45, but I feel like I caught up on my missing sleep (for now anyway!). The early morning is NOT my personal favorite or what I would necessarily choose, but I have a Bible study I attend Monday night and then daughter has soccer practice Tuesday night, so if I don't do it early, then I know exercise won't happen for me. Thankfully, my sweet MIL goes with me, so knowing she counts on me to be ready to go, is a motivator that I need at that time in the morning! :-)

I should also add that I (like some of you have mentioned) try to walk around at least once an hour. That's part of the reason I try to drink so much water...drink water, you have to pee, you have to pee, you get up from your desk! :-) I also go to the lower level of the building to go, so I get a few extra steps (and literal STEPS I climb to get there) throughout the day. Thankful that I can do that with my job.

CYCLEGIRL36- Good for YOU in catching the emotional eating. It's SO easy to do. Glad you recognized it and stopped when you did. That's AMAZING. :-)

APRIL- Great job on the NSV's! That's awesome. I get how MAD you get when you can't do something on a DVD--I had that experience last Saturday when I did a Pilates DVD. It made me mad, too. Made me feel extremely FAT (which technically, I am) and that my body will never be like THAT. However, I am committed to trying it once a week as my new exercise this month and we'll see how that goes! I'm proud of you, though! It's awesome when we can see and know how far we've come! YAY, you!

MOMTOCONNOR2003- prayers that the injections will do their work and you'll get the energy you need! Keep us posted on that water intake! I know it's hard when you first start, but hopefully, it will get easier. Maybe float lemon, lime or cucumber in it for a little flavor?? I had a hard time (years ago) when I had to increase water, but now (it's the ONLY good habit I've held on to for many years) I easily drink a gallon a day.

Hope everyone else is having a good week! You ALL are awesome!

Yesterday I started a series of B12 and MIC injections. I am very excited about it. Because of my pre-diabetes my energy level has been at rock bottom lately. I have almost fallen asleep at the wheel it has been so bad, so I started injections yesterday. They are suppose to help increase my engergy level and help speed up my metabolism that seems to have stopped. ha ha! I now have to drink over 100 ounces of water a day which is great since it is a struggel for me to drink. This is making me drink so YAHHH! I got up this morning for the first time in weeks and exercise so emoticon . Yesterday I ate on the low end of my calorie range and so far so Great today! It is amazing how much motivation you can muster when you have energy.

Happy Hump Day everyone! I hope everyone is having a great week!

Scarlett - congratulations on the weight loss! You are doing great!

Nessagirl - you are amazing and inspiring!

Cycle girl - congratulations on overcoming the urge to eat your emotions, mid-urge! That is awesome! WTG!

Lilsparkgirl, Sandy and Karen - WTG on getting in that exercise. It can be so hard to fit it in with all the other demands on your time. It really takes commitment to make the time!

I've got one NSV and a SV to share. I'm down another 4 pounds for a total of 27.5! (That is over a few weeks since the last time I weighed in.) But my NSV is actually more exciting to me. Back in February, when I did Jillian's yoga meltdown workout, I was so angry and upset about one of the poses that Jillian was asking me to do, I couldn't believe anyone could do it. It's called camel pose, and you are up on your knees with tops of feet on the ground, and then you bend backwards and touch both feet with your hands. I couldn't even come close to doing that in February, but last night I did it with ease! It was so easy, I had to go back through my blogs and make sure that was the move I was complaining about! Anyway, it was a major big deal to me personally. Yay for increased flexibility! All my workouts are paying off! :-)

Hope everyone has an awesome day!

emoticon

Your biggest challenge isn't someone else. It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs, and the voice inside you that yells, "can't!"

But you don't listen. You just push harder. And then you hear the voice whisper, "can."

And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

Good morning everyone. This is my Saturday so, I have to cram everything in I would normally get to do in 2 days in today. I have been so swamped in work and meetings this week and rodeo season is up on us; the only thing getting a work out is my checkbook it seems. At least, yesterday, my arms got a work out lifting saddles while trying to find my daughter a barrel racing saddle. So..today I am declaring a household holiday of Julie. I still have to go get groceries though emoticon My family has been moping around because we are out of "good" food...and there is only "diet" food left. They have started in on my stuff now. I may actually weigh in today. I haven't step on a scale in a week.

Hope you all have a fabulous Julie Day! Celebrate it by doing something for yourself!

Good morning - happy Wednesday! I'm in a great mood today! Today was the last day of the BLC I've been doing for the last 12 weeks, and I've lost 19.8 pounds total. Not quite what my goal was - I was hoping for 24, but overall I feel pretty good about it! I'm really looking forward to the next one - it keeps me motivated!

I've got a busy day planned. Work, then off a little early to take my mom to the doctor. So, I'd better get busy. Hope you all have a great day!

Hello Everyone!~ I'm stopping by before I turn in earlier tonight. I've been up working out in the mornings at 5:00 then walking during my lunch breaks and hitting the gym in the evenings if I can. Tonight I went to a Step Class with weights and ab work. I'm feeling great but I'm exhausted. Have a great night everyone.

ARKAIOS - I too have a desk job and I sit most of the day. I get up frequently to get away from my desk. I also take 2 1/2 mile walks during my lunch breaks to get away from the desk.

ROSES17 - I hope your back surgery goes well and that you have a speedy recovery. I will keep you in prayer. What date is the surgery scheduled for?

Sandy - Great job on the steps. Keep up the great job.

So I did awesome yesterday. Started off today doing good, then had a monkey wrench thrown in, started the emotional eating, realized what I was doing and stopped. I went a little over, but as long as I keep doing what I'm doing for the rest of the day I'll still be good. I think this is a first for me :)

Keep Smiling

Well yesterday was a good day as well. We went to hubby doctors and he got some bad news as his blood sugar was way too high and they put him on two different insulin one called Lantus SoloSTAR pen and Humalog kwikpen. Now he has to test after each meal and take the humalog. I am really worry about him cause his diabetes isn't getting any better. His AC1 was also very high. He has to go back in 2 weeks. Other then that we enjoy our day together as we went out for lunch just the two of us. It was nice and quiet. Then we went food shopping to get him some stuff that he could eat. I can eat everything on his menu but he can't as he has a lot of food allergies and he lactose intolerance too. Plus he a very picky eater which doesn't help much.
I did okay with walking as I did 11045 in steps and over 4.7 miles not bad you know. We went to our daughter school to drop off the cupcakes and punch. We stayed till it was time to pick up the kids from school. After we got home we just relax and help the kids with homework and made dinner and had our daughter birthday party and which the inlaws came over and we had real nice time.I think she enjoy herself. We gave her a bike and other stuff.
Hope everyone else had a nice Monday too. I be back later to post today news..

Roses17 --- all the best with your surgery! praying for a quick recovery for you emoticon

Arkaios -- I'm sorry but I just can't do the 5:15 am workouts emoticon I understand that for many it is easier to get it over with but if it is taking away too much sleep time for me it just doesn't seem work. You are awesome for sticking with it!!

Welcome again, Munchkin!

Great job, Nessagirl ... you rock emoticon

Hope you are all having a great week! I haven't done as well at the exercising as I would have liked. Still getting back on Denver time. I will get it in! Have a great one!

ARKAIOS - I hear you on the desk job. That is awesome you are getting up and doing your workout early.

roses17 - hope your back surgery goes well and your recovery is quick!

I also spend most of my day sitting in an office. I am trying to walk a mile during my lunch break regularly. Even getting out of my chair and going to the furthest bathroom helps. I was going to go to Costco for a big bag of salad and butter (I have several cakes to bake next week) but I think i'll take my walk instead and go tomorrow. I don't feel like I have the willpower to dodge free samples.

MUNCHKIN131! Hope to get to know you better! It's always fun to make new friends.

Having a good week so far. I'm tired today, though. The 5:15am workouts are kickin' my booty by about 1pm. I sit at a desk most of the day, so I just get ever so (yyyaaawwwnnn) sleepy! I'm only doing the early morning on Monday and Tuesday, though, so tomorrow I get to sleep in until 6:30! Woo hoo! :-)

Hope y'all have a great rest of the week. Keep on keepin' on! :-)
