This is a great site. Definitely participate in the teams, but my advice would be to find a few that really work for you and stay plugged in.
Also, start with the nutrition tracker. And, since you'll be a the Y for your son, perhaps look into a program for you that fits the time he'll be there. I love tracking my exercise in the fitness tracker - it's gives me warm fuzzies to see the week in review.

Welcome to the team!!

Welcome! You really r in the right place and so glad you're here. There r teams on sp for folks that are depressed...woohoo! Sounds weird I know, but here at sp there are so many different teams you can find a team for just about every area of interest/need you may have. Motivation and help are in abundance here. What do you need help with? Let us know and if I can't help...someone can. There's TONS of folks on this site that can help with all kinds of things. God bless!

I LOVE SPARKPEOPLE!!
1 year with Spark People on September 4, 2009.
Happy New Year everyone!
I am an obese divorced single mother of a very active 10 year old child with blood pressure and depression problems. As if that is not enough for one person to deal with, I am out of work and unemployment is running out soon. To my surpise this week, I found myself at the local YMCA to sign my child for basketball. I guess if i have to take him to practice and games, I will have (at least for a few hours at a time) stop my pity party for one and get myself out of bed. Another member at the Y told me about this page and here I am. I need your guidance, your wisdom and a good kick in the rear end to keep me going. So my dear new friends, I want to say that I am here to stay although it is there to be seen. Please help!
