Did I hear you say you lost 1.5 pounds? I hope I haven't found them! But really, congrats on the loss.

Consistency is key. But moderation is up there.

1.5 pounds is great! Good job. It took me three to four weeks to see the first weight loss even though I was working hard and staying on track. Remember after 40 it comes off slower. Hang in there.

One day at a time, I can do this...

1.5 lbs is great! If you average 2 lbs a week - you have a higher chance of keeping it off. Your body is making small changes that will have positive lasting effects.

I pound and a half is 5250 calories. Not shabby at all! Keep up the good work. In one year 1.5 pounds per week is 78 pounds.

I think 1.5 lbs sounds good. I remember on many other diets I would lose weight quickly in the beginning. There was never any physical change though. I think it was probably water loss (dehydration) from cutting back on so much food. However, you should really feel good if you are meeting your drinking water goals, 'cause then you know what you lost isn't just water!
Good luck.

1.5 is great! During my time on SP, I've probably averaged a pound a week, which means I've have weeks with as little as .2 lb loss. Fortunately, though, I'm not gaining pounds either. So, slow and steady. Don't focus on the number, focus on the fact that you lost!

One more thing.. the scale isn't the only way to measure your success. Eating healthy & exercising is making you so much more healthy and increasing your life expectancy, etc.

Take your measurements now if you didn't at the start and see how that is progressing - you might be pleasantly surprised. That means more than pounds most of the time.

Hang in there and remember we are all in this together and here for each other.

Great job! It may not be the results you were looking for but it is progress. They say the slower we lose the better chances it has to stay off.

I bet next week will be even better!

Don't despair!
Actually, you are right on track for what Sparks suggests. If you lose too much too quickly, you're more apt to find them again. Slow and constant gives you a chance to transform your fat to muscle. Keep in mind that muscle weighs more. Also, take your body meaurements~you may find that your scale isn't showing a true picture of all that you lost! Inches can be dramatic!! Best of luck!!
