Eating out has been a nightmare for me too. But with eating healthier at home, and remembering that I CAN take home the leftover and make another meal of it, I have been really satisfied with my eating-out habits lately. Also, ordering water, not tea or juice or anything else, and drinking at least one whole glass before I start to eat REALLY helps me to fill up without gobbling it all down!
Restaurants are the bane of my portion-control! I have gotten into the habit of either ordering a 1/2 portion or, if the restaurant doesn't subscribe to that type of service, I ask for 1/2 of my meal to be wrapped-up to take home before it is served. I can't eat what isn't there to tempt me!
I just went to the local mexican food joint with my husband... I was careful with my order... I found a meal that looked healthy... grilled chicken, bell peppers, onion and tomatoes atop a bed of rice.
I should have portioned it out before I ate it, because before I knew it, my plate was almost empty.... I ate way more than what I should have.
