As a massage therapist myself I am going to recommend something. It may or may not work. Massage your hands. First your palms, then the pads underneath your fingers. Then go to the middle of your hand and gently rub them. If you feel a lot of pain stop. Stop right away. Then take your thumb from your other hand and massage between the metacarpals. Then flip your hand over and do that to the other side. Make sure you massage away from your heart. Upwards not downwards. Then after that you start massaging every finger starting with the pinky. Circumduct them three times. Three times to the right, three times to the left. This is called end feel. don't forget your wrist. Massage gently around the wrist. Then repeat on other hand. If at anytime, this begins to hurt, STOP!!! That should relax you. Or even just a little bit.

Your doctor is an idiot, no research indicates the carb limiting would help. He is just trying to put you on a low carb diet.

Here is some info.

Aerobic exercise, such as low-impact stepping, cycling or swimming several times each week, also is considered an essential part of treatment. Finally, improved sleep quality may improve symptoms, so it may help to avoid caffeine, exercise late in the day and fluids late in the evening. If your symptoms do not improve, your doctor also may suggest that you try one or more of the following therapies: acupuncture, massage therapy, warm compresses, biofeedback, hypnosis, group therapy or stress management. If you have symptoms of depression or anxiety, these may improve with psychotherapy and antidepressant or antianxiety medication.

Normally doctors would prescribe a muscle relaxer, antidepressant and tylenol. You need a new doctor and tell them that you are on sparkpeople and are working on losing weight in a healthy way and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. They will be able to give you more help. Ask questions, lots of questions that is what they are getting paid for.

RXTCKDMN - no carbs that nuts think he meant good carbs and keep in low I find I am in less pain when I stay away from white carbs and keep my intake low.

Now the just water, I hear it was and still is hard for me to drink water. Some tips drink it really really cold and try some lemon in it. Also just try to ease into it. if u can drink 5 everyday for a week try to drink 5.5 - 6 the next week. I can't wait to get insurance to get more testing done. I sleep 5-6 hrs a night and wake 3 times in that time frame. I been still in a lot of pain and so down in the dumps !

Water is go for you because it cleans out your body. It hydrates your skin from the inside. It gets ride of toxins in your system that you shouldn't need. However, drinking just water, its nuts. What abouot fruit or vegatables? Can you eat those. Some of them are low in carbs and they will give you what your body needs. You can't go without carbs Carbs is what gives your body the needed engery to survive. I have never heard anything bad like that about crytal light. I would say drink it. If I am correct, crystal light is normal sugar free. And for healthy, its like water. It has no percentage value of nothing. No soduim. No carbohydrates. No sugar. No calaries. Nothing. So I as safe to assume, its safe.

My doctor recommended no carbs at all and only water to drink. First of all eating no carbs is nearly impossible. My nephew has diabetes and has to give himself insulin every time he eats carbs. Well lets just say that he has to have insulin every time he eats. I was also told to only drink water. He said I couldn't even have something like crystal light because of the sugar subs. Well I can only drink so much water and then it starts to make me sick to my stomach. I like the Liption Green Tea in diet so I think that I am going to stick with that and water.
Basically I am going only is the carbs that are better for you and try to design my own plan. The doctor was sort of weird anyway. I go back in a month and if I don't like him I am going try someone else.

you can click the Don't show meals and enter the food you need . I use their Calories, Carb , fat , and protein ranges , But due to my hypothyroid i always try to keep my carb on their low end or just below what the recommend.
They believe I also suffer from Fibromyalgia, but due to lack of insurance it just a guess.
What do they recommend you eat to help ease the pain and swollen ?

Follow a diet that is talored to you. If your doctor is telling you to stay away from these certain foods. Do it. If you cheat you cheat. Its all about you and how dedicated you are in acheiving your goals.

The diets are a good thing to follow but make them your own.

As far as I know, you can change the diet to however you feel necessary. Or not follow it at all and do your own thing.

Starting a new phase in my life and ready to kick things in gear and keep it moving!

I have a question? Are there diffrent types of diets on this site. It gave me the spark5 diet but I need to make some changes. I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalsia and need to do certain things in my diet. If there are other diets how do I find them?
