BELLAMAGOO78- I do the Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis work out. It's a 90 day program that I've had for years and am determined to finally finish it. There's a 30 minute dance cardio routine then 30 minutes of muscular structure which changes every 10 days.

Make it a great day everyone!

I had a good weigh in today - i am down 0.1 lbs - but I"m happy as it's a 3 week streak for losses. I am tracking my foods which is really helping me out. I had success in the past when I was tracking foods. I'm not always in my calorie range, but I'm tracking it all and it does help me to think about what I'm eating.

I've also been quite active this past week with walking, tennis & horseback riding! Loving it!

TEMEKA97 - emoticon on sticking with your promise to yourself. I was reading Chris Powell's book recently and he mentions something about the importance of keeping our promises to ourselves. It what helps us build pride in ourselves and builds our confidence. What kind of workouts are you doing at home? sorry for all the questions but i"m such a believer in learning from whats working well for others and challenges other have.

what are you all up to? what are you working on this week?

BELLAMAGOO78- I have been on and off with my work outs and when July got here I was very upset with myself that I let 6 months go by and not reach one goal. I decided to commit for the month of July to working out Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays since those are the days I work from home. It's a challenge and some days I have made up a million excuses in my head to not work out but I keep the promise I made to myself in the front of my mind and I just do it. That's basically what it comes down to- Just doing it.... In just a few short weeks I'm down 1 1/2 inches on my waist, 1 inch from my thigh and 3/4 of an inch off my arm. I'm excited to see what my progress will be at the end of the month.
The weight loss is slow but the inches are most important to me anyways. I am working out an eating plan that I will start in August to increase my loss.... Hope this helps.

I haven't been on spark the last few days. Seems like the weekends get away on me and I just don't get to check in on here. I hope you all had a great weekend and good start to your week. I am struggling as my energy fluctuates so much from day to day. I'm now working 4 days a week (have weekends off and now taking wednesdays off as vacation days) and am LOVING it! It's something I will be trying to do from now on. It makes such a difference to my energy and I'm spending the wednesday off being active - horseback riding & walking dog & playing tennis. Just sucks that I'll have to start losing pay for that day off in the fall but I do think it's worth it for me and my mental self... hoping to see some weight loss with the increased energy and activity.

TEMEKA97 - emoticon job on the 3 week streak on working out! emoticon emoticon How did you build yourself up to the 3 days? any tips on motivating those of us struggling to get into a strong fitness routine? do you have days where you don't feel like doing it ? if so, how do you get yourself motivated those days?

IMREITE - emoticon for NSV! It feels so good to have people notice changes in us. I had a recent comment too that made me feel good - my riding coach told me she thought i looked like I lost weight... made my day!

KAIWHITAKER - emoticon on working towards your goals! What changes have you made to work towards lowering cholesterol?

Hello TEMEKA97, your post stuck out to me because I have the same goal. I fit comfortably in a size 16 dress and would like to go down to a 12 before the year is out! Keep me posted on the Tracy Anderson workouts and how they are working for you. I have been doing cardio mostly and am trying to incorporate more strength training. Size 12 isn't my ultimate goal because I am really working on reducing my cholesterol, but hey if weight loss comes with it, I won't complain. Good luck on your journey!

One day at a time!

HI All- I've been a part of this group for a while but haven't really participated. I'm about to change that now.

I am currently trying to drop two dress sizes from a 16 to a 12. That's my first goal and once I reach that I will make another one. I am currently working out 3 days a week for an hour doing the Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis work out. I'm trying to incorporate a 4th day but it took so long to build up to three consistent days a week that I'm taking it slow.

I look forward to getting support as well as supporting all of you!

Had a great weigh in this morning... down 2.4 lbs.

I've been drinking more water
I've kept my steps up at an AVERAGE 10,500 for the week (some days were lower and some were higher)
I've tried to cut down on mindless snacking

horseback riding has become quite a motivator for me - now that i'm back riding, i am more focused and motivated to lose weight to feel more comfortable and confident riding. I worry about being to heavy/fat to ride and it's thanks to the place I'm at now and a few Facebook sites that I have really built my confidence about the fact that i'm NOT too fat to ride - i just need to find the right place and the right horse!

how are you all doing? what do you do to get yourself moving? what motivates you?

Had a great day today - I went horseback riding this morning. Unfortunately the mare I normally ride was lame (sore) so I ended up having my lesson on my coach's horse. It was different but not in a bad way. I'm just attached to the horse I regularly ride and wish I had money to have my OWN horse!! Maybe one day....

Then this afternoon I was hanging out with a friend and her son, then out to dinner with my boyfriend. It was super hot out today - got quite a bit of sun today so am exhausted now. My boyfriend was out at the driving range in the sun so was also tired - kinda glad so we didn't have a late night! LOL

Yogigirl - hood your foot feels better soon! What happened? The oatmeal banana cookies sound interesting.

Good morning everyone emoticon well yesterday I had baked oatmeal cookies withing using only oatmeal and bananas and it held me over all day. I even have some left. I made 7 bars. Last night I had a craving for a burger and fries so dinner could have been a bit healthier but I am very hormonal at this moment and just needed some beef last night. I also did a heavy house cleaning but had to break a few times because of my foot.
Have a great day everyone

emoticon good morning!

Did my weigh in this morning. Down a bit from last week. I've been working at tracking my foods and am "trying" to make better food choices. I'm tracking it all so that's a HUGE step for me and for the most part I'm within my calorie range - over 3 days of the last week!! That's an even BIGGER accomplishment for me!!

What's different?? I'm eating more fruit and veggies for snacks, eating a lean cuisine or smart ones for lunches when I'm at work, skipping some carb/starches with dinner - for example I had a BBQ chicken breast last night with salad - no rice or potatoes.

How are you all doing? What are you focusing on this week?

I have booked today off (using vacation time) so for some stupid reason my cat decided I should be up at 4:30am... and she pestered me until 6:30 when I finally got out of bed and filled her food dish - she had food but she could see the bottom of her dish!! BRAT!! I am headed out to go horseback riding shortly and then have some errands to run this afternoon (the shopping kind) then I play tennis tonight with a friend! The day will go quick!

RENLLY - emoticon for sharing your solution to tough weekends! I think you nailed it... PLANNING is the key! I am so bad for picking something up along the way. I'm such a 'fly by the seat of my pants' girl that it's probably part of my downfall with eating & exercise. Today I'm going riding and PLANNING to take some snacks (fruit) out with me and a jug of water as I'll be thirsty afterwards. How do you like WW?

BETHLAKE88 - emoticon on a loss with all those celebrations and festivities!! Are you indulging or do you find yourself holding back or avoiding all the goodies? Sounds like July is a BUSY month for you!!

Sounds like you have a plan Renlly! Great Job!! I have come to the conclusion that I just hate the beginning of July. We had my daughter's best friend's sweet 16 party to attend, then the 4th of July, then my mother's birthday, this weekend we are celebrating my brother having eloped, and my daughter's birthday is the 15th. We also had a cake here for my daughter's best friend as she calls me "momma" also, lol. I managed to still lose weight this week and a nice bit of it but it was a lot of self control!!

Keep on Rock'n off those pounds!!

What is done is done. I will not dwell on it. I will move on and learn from my past. I love myself.

Weekends can be a challenge to me. It helps if I plan what I am eating around my other plans. So I don't just grab whatever and then start making bad food choices.

I usually start by bringing a homemade breakfast sandwich to my WW meeting on Saturday. Then I make sure I have other snacks if I am going to be running around (fruit, yogurt, granola bars etc).

How are you all doing? I've been doing ok - my weekends are not the greatest for eating but this past weekend I made an effort not to go 'crazy' with my indulgences. I was over my calories but it wasn't nearly as crazy as it could have been!

How do you guys manage weekends? are they a challenge for you? if so, how do you manage them?

I decided to take every wednesday off work this month using vacation time - i want to see how it helps me to have a day off mid week. In the past it was helpful for me to lose weight as I found the time off mid week I was able to sustain working out harder and eating better as I when I'm tired I make crappier food choices (i.e.: drive thru). I'm looking forward to having tomorrow off!! Going riding emoticon

AUNTRENEE - way to go on the workout - glad you were able to see the difference in your blood pressure with working out. Amazing how exercise affects our body eh?

SHANNONK1222 - emoticon on getting to the gym. I can COMPLETELY relate to the funk of feeling tired, lazy, unmotivated, eating crap, feeling worse for it, depression etc... I've been there and struggle with it still! It's one day at a time for me. That's awesome that you got yourself into the gym and you're totally right.. 15 minutes after starting exercise I'm enjoying it and feeling better about myself & life in general. It's the "getting there" that is a struggle for me. Most days I aim to walk my pooch for 1/2 hour or longer.. I'm contemplating going to gym to start up my c25k program again... just haven't made it there and I wanna say I don't have time, but I do... i just make excuses... tomorrow i'm not working... there's no excuse!

Finding my motivation...This holiday weekend was awesome. I have been in a serious funk...serious...didnt want to move, always tired, eating crap because I was to lazy to plan or make something and then getting depressed over eating like crap.

This weekend, I went to the gym.. Twice. Once on 4th of July and again last night at 10PM. I am leaving the gym feeling amazing. I realized I just have to get the first 15 minutes of being there out of the way and then I find it hard to leave. LOL..

I will be back there tonight and looking forward to feeling at the very least accomplished. Have a great Monday!

Please excuse any typos as I am posting from my iPad.

Yesterday when I started my exercises at cardiac rehab at a nearby hospital (for conditioning while dad is doing pulmonary rehab that is similar to what I'm doing) my blood pressure was high before I started but I got it down by the time I was done exercising. It was 166/100 when I started and 136/90 when I got done. I know when its time to sit out and when its good to do my exercises and yesterday was the good day to do my exercises.

yesterday was not a good day - found myself binging in the afternoon - to the point of feeling so sick. I don't know what the trigger was but did find that I was thirsty so wondering how much of it was triggered by being thirsty and not being satisfied with what I was eating... chips, ice cream, left over asian noodle dish...

I am annoyed at myself about yesterday but I'm taking it as today is a new day - a new day to get back on track. I'm starting out with a typical breakfast, then I'm off to go horseback riding emoticon My favourite thing ever!! I used to ride as a teenager but gave it up 15 years ago when I moved away to university... just got back in the saddle 2 months ago and can't believe I have deprived myself of this for SO LONG!! Today is my first day back since my surgery...

Hiya!

Last 2 days haven't been fabulous emoticon I did not stick to my goals/plans however today I revamped my goals for the week to 70,000 steps for the week (FITBIT) and 21 ST exercises for the week. I'm feeling much better as the last 2 days are not 'wasted days' - I'm such an ALL OR NOTHING gal so hoping this will help me push on after a crappy day or low activity day.

Tonight I got in 2,000 extra steps to make up for some I fell short on in the last 2 days - the rest I'll make up tomorrow. I also made up for missed ST exercises tonight and suspect I'm going to feel my abs tomorrow!! LOL

HOW ARE YOU ALL? I'm hoping this board may pick up in activity if I keep posting...

emoticon everyone!

Hope you're having a great week so far! what's going good for you? what is working for you? I'd love to hear... it's great when we can share what's working for us so we can learn from one another.

I'm hoping this group will become more active and more people will pop in here to chat...

I'm still off work - got in lots of walking yesterday - over 15,000 steps! I also managed to stay within my calories (which is a STRUGGLE for me!). I actually didn't eat traditional lunch or dinner. I had breakfast as usual, then a strawberry banana julius and hot dog for 'lunch' as i was at the mall with boyfriend. Was craving a hot dog the last few days so thought it works well as i won't be buying them front he store (and eating more in the long run). I then had some tortilla chips and homemade pico de gallo as a snack and that ended up being dinner. I didn't eat 'dinner' as I wasn't hungry. I had to really think about that and decided not to eat as I wasn't hungry. I'm so conditioned to eat because "it's time to eat". On another note - I didn't do the ST that I had planned to do yesterday - so today my goal is to make up for what I missed out on yesterday - which means I'm doing 9 ST exercises 2 sets of 10-15 each! NO EXCUSES!

Hope to hear how things are going for you guys - good and bad!!

I just got in from a 50 minute walk with my pooch. The weather here (Vancouver, BC, Canada) is gorgeous! My pooch is worn out now! I love that she can be worn out with a walk - not a super high energy dog. Mind you, she is not 6 1/2 years old... a rottweiler/shepherd mix.

I'm off work for a week of vacation now - not going anywhere - just recovering from my breast reduction surgery and want to get into a good fitness routine while i'm off. Hoping I will be able to stick to it when I go back to work...

How are you all doing? what's your plan for today?

Morning emoticon

Hope you all have a fabulous start to your week! I'm still off work for recovering from my breast reduction surgery then I am off for a week of vacation starting wednesday. I'm excited to get back into my fitness - i've been taking longer walks daily and starting to start ST (i never did this before).

I think I might have a new walking busy - my boyfriends best friends wife has asked me to get together to go walking in the evenings as she is in need of 'adult time' without the kids! It's a bit scary to build close relationships with boyfriends friends as we've only been together for 3 months and i'm scared that IF things don't go well with Mike, then I'll lose his friends as well... I've decided not to worry about that - just to be myself and develop the relationships as they develop. I can't live life on 'what ifs'... right?? any advice of how to deal with this situation?

emoticon everyone!!

how are you all doing? a good weekend? do you find you are on track on weekends or do you fall off the wagon (so to speak)?

I find weekends can be tough for me - lack of routine and eating out more with friends. I don't plan weekends as well as I do weekdays when I'm working.

I did have a good day today! Ate well... got in over 12,000 steps (according to fitbit)... took the dog for 3 walks - one long (45 minutes) and 2 shorter ones (10-15 minutes). I was able to NOT go for ice cream or fatty fast food (i had quiznos instead and had a 9" instead of 12" that I would normally order). So small changes...

THECOLORADOGIRL - i usually weigh myself daily - first thing in the morning. I can relate to the highs and the lows but recently, i'm not worrying too much about small fluctuations - i try to look at the whole picture - what I have done to help progress my weight loss journey... how have I been eating? have I been active? if so, i don't let the increase weigh number bother me - i 'trust the process' and if i haven't been keeping on track then I try to use it as motivation to do a bit better - make an effort to get back on track. I also remind myself that MY WEIGHT IS NOT MY WORTH! ..... so just emoticon

Hi Guys- i've not been active in this group, however would like to change that. I will start popping in and seeing what's going on emoticon

A bit about me - I'm 35, live on my own with my 6 yr old dog & 12 yr old cat. I am dating someone - we've been seeing each other for just over 3 months and he also wants to lose some "L B S" as he calls them... I work full time as a registered nurse in a clinic that specializes in TB (tuberculosis) so have regular 'bankers' hours - no shift work for me!

I just had breast reduction surgery 1 1/2 WEEKS ago and am now slowing getting back into my routine and trying to build more activity in it and trying to eat better (not only for health but for the pocket book as I tend to eat out more than I should be...)

In total I would "LIKE" to lose 80 lbs - that would put me at 175 lbs but in truth - right now my goal is to get under 250... then i'll work to 240.. .then 230 etc... small steps/goals...

I have a fit bit - so feel free to add me as a friend if you are on fitbit - it's always great to encourage others and receive encouragement!

How often do you weigh yourself? I have this bad habit of weighing every day and it makes me extremely happy when I've lost weight and extremely sad when I gain (like today) :(

No more starting over. No more excuses.

I also just joined a gym. Excited. I had to have a long talk with my husband and children about not making me feel guilty about going. I need to do this for me.

Please excuse any typos as I am posting from my iPad.

I chose to take the calories burned feature off the food intake calorie add-up. I didn't like it either and felt confused about adding all those calories in a healthy way too. I went back to tracking food and fitness separately

Thanks, Diana! It's going well. So far this is week three for me and the treadmill. Five days the first two weeks, and Sunday is my 'off day' from the gym, but I still went for a 25 minute walk in the nice weather :) If I reach my goal for this week, I'll have logged four fitness hours by the end of Saturday. Eeee, I want to do it!!! :D

Good Morning!

LK - i don't worry about my calories when I'm sick. I focus on sleeping, drinking plenty of fluids and resting. Soups and tea and diluted apple juice! My comfort food when I'm starting to feel better is grilled cheese sandwiches!

MEGA - emoticon on workout plans!! Let us know how it goes. I'm also working on eating more salads this week!!

LES - thanks for the welcome emoticon

I'm aiming to workout five to six days a week (usually the treadmill for 25-35 minutes) and eating more salads. I'm not so great with veggies!

Great job using a shopping list. Switching things up, and experimenting with new recipes is a great way to start a new "healthy" lifestyle. emoticon

In regards to increased calories on the days you work out, it's very important to give your body enough fuel on the days you work out. It actually speeds up your metabolism. If you don't eat enough, your body will store the food, instead of burn it. emoticon

I wish you all the best!!!! emoticon

I try to stick with soups, crackers and pedialyte. I didn't worry too much about staying within my calories with the stomach flu. Doing that for a few days or so while sick won't do too many bad things for the diet.

How do you still eat healthy when you're sick? I've had strep throat, chest cold and stomach flu this week and spent most of the time in bed. I have no appetite whatsoever and have undercut my calories for most of the week. I've kept with my morning protein shakes and tried to load up on veggies, not having much success. Any magic ideas or recipes?? I'm so ready to be over this sickness!!

I have picked out a few recipes for this coming week and just got home from grocery shopping. It's the first time in a LONG time that I actually used a list and pretty much stuck to it!!

Hoping this will help me eat more meals at home (aka:healthier meals)!! Will let you know how it goes. Also will make a batch of spaghetti sauce and freeze individual portions as that's my 'go to' meal when I don't feel like cooking.

Hope you all are having a emoticon Weekend!

I'm new to the group - my name is Diana emoticon

I'm 35, live in BC Canada and work as a nurse. I am a mom to 6 year old dog Bella and 10 year old cat Missy. I live on my own in a 1 bedroom condo. I've struggled with my weight for a long time - but struggled with my self confidence and body image for much longer. I'm working towards not just losing weight but to finding out more about who I am and sharing that with people.

My overall goal is to be more active, eat healthier and live a more engaged lifestyle. I lost a total of about 55lbs 4 years ago, and have gained 1/2 of that back over the last 2 years. I'm working at losing another 75-80lbs but man is it tough!!! Just when I think I'm on the right track and seeing some loss, I start gaining again!! I'm up to the heaviest I have been in about 4 years emoticon

Hoping to gain some friends and support and motivation from others who I know are reaching similar goals.

ok I have a question and dont know where to ask it... When I do exercise, the nutrition tracker raises my calories for the day.. my problem with that is 1 how am I supposed to add 600 calories without adding fat or protein? 2 Why am I burning them if I am just going to add them back?

Today, we went to my in-laws for dinner. My mother in law is well aware that I am losing weight and watching what I'm eating closely. She asked what I wanted and I said something pork (its lean and she generally leaves it alone). Tonight she served - pork cooked in a sauce made with whipping cream and crushed tomatoes, frozen prepared mashed potatoes, french fries and raw broccoli.

Now its 9:30 and I'm starving because I could barely eat anything. So I'm going to be way over in my fat today. I'm within my calorie limits because I went to the trainer. I'm trying not to obsess too much, because I have been under my fat limit over the last 6 days by far more than I am going over today, but I hate eating like this.

I'm just frustrated.

Add the portion control problem with the cravings for sweet and salt and I am right there with you!!! I am really bad after I get off a hard shift, I come home, lay in bed, and stuff my face even through I know I shouldn't!! I also give myself the excuse at work if its been a tough night to go and get that bag of chips, have to stop!!! I can't cheat even a little or, it's over and I binge!!!!

Today I am struggling with portion control... we had a fundraiser at church and our group had to make the trifles that were pre-ordered but we totally overestimated how many ingredients we needed so we were left with a whole extra tray full and now I am nibbling away at it like a little mouse...

Easter season is the hardest for me too. I wish I could say that I haven't had any, because almost every time I go to Walmart, I pick up a chocolate bunny. However, I am slowly learning that moderation is key. Weighing and measuring just how much I am actually eating really helps. This week I lost 3lbs, and ate a little bit of chocolate everyday. I wish I could give it up, why does it have to taste sooo damn good. emoticon

I've been on and off SparkPeople for a while now but I've hit my highest weight and I know I need to do something about it. I do find tracking my food helps me out a lot because I realize where I'm lacking or what I'm doing wrong, usually not eating enough or eating way too much. I am also trying to kick my sweet tooth to the curb. I LOVE sweets and every time I walk into a store, all's I see is the Easter candy. But I'm proud of myself for not buying some, although I swear I can still hear that chocolate bunny screaming my name.

I'm seeing a handful or more of people that are back up to their highest weight. I'm in that club. Last month I was doing so well and then got sick and became a couch potato and stopped counting calories. so I regained my 6 pounds lost and started against yesterday. This time I'm not having any sugar or processed foods. Just lean meats, veggies, and some low sugar fruits. I'm also increasing my fiber like crazy as well as decided I would try the green coffee bean extract since its supposed to help your body use up and burn the brown fat without any weird side effects like other supplements like garcinia cambogia, or however you spell it. lol. Anyone else tried this supplement? I'm also taking a multivitamin, lethicin, drinking tons of water and started Lemon in warm water in the morning-its supposed to rev your metabolism. I'm determined to stay on track...I have to! I'm going to a wedding in Bermuda mid July so I'm freaking out and still want to lose 50 pounds by then! I'm tired of attending things like that, being so overweight.

I can do this!

When I really want ice-cream but have few calories left in the budget, an English teacup or even better an espresso cup are my allies. It is hard to put too much in either.

I find if you are screaming for it dont avoid it or you will binge with it so if ice cream is what you want go for 2 table spoons in a dish and walk away or better yet get a kiddie cone at bk or mcd so you wont have it in your fridge and if those are close to you walk it bike it etc to help burn it.. or you could just go with the mixes now that are not as bad for you the half yogurt half icecream they arent too bad. just a thought good luck

Hey ladies, I have been MIA due to moving. But now I am all settled in and back to sparking as much as I can.

I lost 7lbs since I moved in! I'm so excited and this really motivates and encourages me. I am shooting for another loss when I weigh in this weekend.

Well I am off to my Elliptical for the 2nd time today. Have a great week all! :)

Today I have started my eating clean over again for the (what seems like) the millionth time in the last few years. I need and want to get to my goal weight this year. I will be 40 next year and do not want to continue looking at pictures of a fat woman. I am also going to be a grandmother this summer and do not want future pictures of me holding my grand child looking like I weigh a million pounds. I don't have an issue getting to the gym 3 times a week or more, it's just the eating that I cant seem to get under control. But I have decided that today is the day to get it under control. No more excuses!!

A wonderful new me is what I want to see!

@BURCHAMM, are you tracking non-scale progress as well as weight progress? Especially when you're adding exercise to your lifestyle, weight loss might not be as obvious because of changes in water retention, muscle tone, etc. I definitely feel the frustration as well - but I found that measuring my arms, legs, waist, and hips has helped a bit, as well as noticing other things like my clothes fitting differently, or my ability to do higher numbers of repetitions or use higher weights.

Hey everyone, I see, everyone has had a kind of a rough week. sorry to hear that, re: the weight changes fro week to week, don't let that discourage you. That happens and a lot to everyone. Could be you gained some muscle, so that's why, you are not seeing the scale change. Muscle weighs more than fat and is smaller. Might want to track your measurements too. dealing with sick kids is no fun at all. My scheduled got hectic too with the kids coming home early from school, being sick. Just jump back on the horse the next day. Its ok if you skipped a day.

As for me, I started the week super excited, due to all the lost of inches I had. Total of 14 inches gone, in 3 weeks. Wednesday, at the gym, the expensive gym shoes I bought-air bubble popped. So now I'm very disappointed. Store won't take them back. And my old shoes won't cut it. After 30 mins. of aerobics in my old shoes, my feet hurt so bad, I can't even stand in them. Pain travels up my legs. Left the gym early without finishing the class, feeling very disappointed in myself because I couldn't withstand all the pain. I honestly felt that others were probably looking at me like look at that quitter. Look the fat girl can't hang in the class.
Yet I took that same step-class on Monday and then took the kickboxing class right afterwards. I know I can hang. whewwwww, sorry to just blurt this out, but this is just how im feeling right now. emoticon

The first week always gets my hopes up when those first 5 lbs fly off, then nothing for a week and I start to feel discouraged. I need something for that 3rd week to keep me motivated and on track. Honestly after 5 days of no weight change my brain says "icecream will make you feel better" and I have to fight myself all day to not give in. emoticon

Hi everyone, hope everyone is doing good. And if you fell off this week, GET BACK TO WORK !!! giggles. I have not weighed myself since I joined the gym or even after I signed up for this site. I do plan on weighing in on March 19 and I am excited about that !!!. I can already see lots of changes to my body. I have checked my measurements and have lost a few inches. So I am super happy about that. Well again, best wishes to all. And Good Luck. Something that makes me feel good, and I hope it does for you too. Is that I didn't gain any of this weight overnight or in a matter of a few months. It took me years to get where I am at. So its ok, if it takes me months to see results. But even with baby steps and little by little changes, I will reach my goal. No matter what. emoticon

Gosh, this morning was just rotten! Three of the kids were going out of their way to hurt each other physically and emotionally! It was picture day at school and the stress of just getting them out the door was HUGE! One is selling Girl Scout cookies after school, another has baseball practice... I'm stressed. I stopped and bought a mocha then returned home with my 2 year old to find the mess they left. I don't want to do a darn thing! *sigh* needed to vent. Thanks

Hey everyone! Our team chat has been a little quiet lately!

I had a bit of a slip up, I had to go on another road trip to see the doctor and being away from the safety of home when it comes to food choices is always difficult. Usually I do ok preplanning on my tracker where we will stop and what I will eat but this time I had 4 days of unabashed eating, roughly 3000 calories a day for 3 days!

I am glad to say that I am back on track since Sunday and that the scale isn't too mad at me for what I chose to eat being only up .3 pounds and weigh in not being till Friday.

How is everyone else doing?

Taking from someone who was 152lbs 3 1/2 years ago and is now 239lbs. Tracking is very much important. Yes it is okay if you have a day or two off during the week. But it can't be like that every week. Measuring and looking at the nutrition facts is definitely a must. The moment you lose that you will gain weight. Just think, if this is what you had to do to lose it, what makes you think you can stop being mindful of what you put in your mouth once you do reach your goal? I gained all my weight back for a variety of reasons, but I will say that one of the reasons that contributed to that was not tracking consistently.

Any who, today was a really good day for me. I tracked all my calories and even got in 60 minutes on my elliptical tonight. Looking forward to making healthy choices this week. Have a great week ladies.

Going back to the weight loss doc Monday morning, whose final words to me on 2/10 were "Your only job before I see you again is to not gain any weight." Well, I'm down almost 3 pounds since then, so THERE.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just gonna ask where they're going, and catch up with 'em later.

I've seen a few posts about slacking on tracking, and I just wanted to remind anyone who reads this that each day is a clean slate - if you slip up, don't let it drag you down to the point of no return. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move forward!

Tracking was a huge wake-up call for me. I'm amazed at what I used to eat before I started here.

Hey everyone, I missed my tracking for a couple of days and started feeling hopeless knowing I went over my calories. I hate this feeling of always feeling like a failure but I refuse to give in this time. That's all for now I guess.

Hey ladies! I have been off of Spark for about 2 weeks. During that time I have been getting in some exercise. I walked outdoors last week. Now the snow is back so its back to indoor workouts for me.

I went to Sears over the weekend and picked out a nice Elliptical. It will arrive at my home on 2/20. :)

I just decided today to join a team so that I can not give up this time like all the other times before. I was hoping that maybe by contributing to a group would help keep me motivated. So here goes :)
By making it to the gym for cardio 5 days and strength training 3 days a week for 3 weeks I have lost 2.2 pounds.

I don't want to look back on my life and say I wish I had... Instead I want to be able to say I am glad I did...

Hi team emoticon

Well I blew it yesterday because we ended up getting a takeaway for dinner plus a bottle of wine emoticon

However I am back on track today but feeling really tired and yukky. I am going to drag myself to the gym later on to try and compensate for last night and am determined to eat really well for the rest of the week to make up for it. emoticon emoticon

Hope everyone else is getting along okay

I have heard the same and have cut way back on using products with aspartame in them. The sparkling water that I drink has sucrolose in it which is the same thing as Splenda.

Just curious - I used to drink the sparkling water too. So good. Then I heard that the aspartame in the sweetener was really bad for you. Have you heard the same?

Happily on my way!

Hi all...getting back on track after getting offtrack the last part of January. Finally found my charger for my fitbit and set a goal of at least 5,000 steps a day. I had gained back some of the weight I lost in the beginning of Jan. and now have almost gotten back to 214.8 lbs as my counter says (the last time I weighed it was 215). Haven't had a soda in 16 days emoticon just need to get better at tracking my food.

For water I love sparkling water. I get the 1 liter bottles at the grocery stores (one store around here sells them for 50 cents). The grape flavor tastes like a grape soda. The ones I get are sweetened with Splenda. I also like the lime, cherry and strawberry flavors too.

Gotta get the kids off to school!
