Oh yeah, the guys I know who've gotten their feet cared for are big fans and don't hesitate to encourage others to do it, too.

woohoo! Glad you're all booked up. And good to hear about the Xanax.

The Lasik consult went great. I've booked the surgery for July 14th. It freaks me out, but my husband did his 8 years ago and he said his only regret was that he didn't do it earlier. Plus, the procedure itself is only about 10 minutes, and they'll give me some lovely Xanax to help me stay calm.

I think it's great your dad is going with you for mani/pedis! The place I went to there was a guy getting his done, so I told my husband that we should go next time together and he was highly receptive.

Today is a lazy day. Laundry and yard work. Nothing too exciting.

No thank you to Lasik. Nobody is going near these eyes. Plus, as a librarian, cat eye glasses are a fashion must.

I am trying to set a time for my dad, brother, grandma, and niece to join me in mani/pedi time. My niece thinks it's hilarious my dad will be joining us, but he recently had spinal surgery and can't reach his feet. He asked if I thought a pedi would help him trim his nails and I told him to go for the full thing - he deserved a massage and the works after what he's had to be dealing with!

Patio time, yay!
:-o LASIK and a mani/pedi!!! I'm so jealous.

Maybe now that I'm soon-to-be-ex-husband isn't spending every dime I earn, I can finally get myself some lasik.

I am about halfway through season 2 in The 100, good stuff. I haven't seen the Handmaid's Tale the show, but, I saw a movie version back in college, and I've read a few commentaries on the show.

Hope you enjoy the class, GoodFeline.

My Piyo class for next session at work was cancelled, the trainer won't be able to do any classes with us, so I had to choose between Intensity and Pound. I did one class of Intensity before and liked it, but I was intrigued by Pound when it first came out (former drumline member here) so I thought I'd give it a try. It's probably going to be higher impact than I like, but it burns 400-900 calories per class and should have some pretty great music.

I hope that everyone stayed safe with the tornadoes and that all services are back up soon.

I watch the 100, it's a good series. Also just finished watching season one of Handmaids Tail. It's really good!

I'm so happy to be off call, and I finally caught up on some sleep last night, so I think I will make tonight a gym night!

So, it's discouraging. I was only 5lbs from goal, and my weight shot up 4lbs.

I don't track it when the scale goes back up, I just wait for it to fall again. These types of things have happened countless times over the past 14 months, but, they still suck.

Oh no! Hope everyone's okay and they can get services restored soon.

Didn't get up to much this weekend. Watched some tv with the kids. Then they were each out for a couple hours with their fathers. Yesterday... I binged-watched tv like all day.
Found this show new on Netflix called The 100. My back hurts so much, because I don't normally sit like that. A few times, I got up and paced around the kitchen island while watching, and later on, I remembered I had my rowing machine, so I used the rower through one episode (not a great seat, it kills my bottom when I use it too long, ow).

Oh, Saturday, I took my Mom to a 'celebration of life' for a friend of hers. It was a lovely event. The deceased was going through treatment for lung cancer and knew his days were numbered, so had time to prepare. His friends and family gathered and shared stories and passed around mementos and there were friends who played and sang very touching music.
... I got hit on. My Mom gave the guy dirty looks until he stopped. lol.

My city got hit by tornadoes yesterday, so you might not see me for a few days. We don't have wifi or power, and the cell tower was damaged.

I think the oil was 13 or 15, plus tax? (big jug of peanut oil, usually lasts me two years, I think.)
Yes, buying the items on their sell by date can be a big savings, it's just hard to time, and you can only get it during the day, if you wait until after work hours, everything is pretty picked over. A morning shopping trip pays off.

Oh, yeah, I don't miss those days of being on call! Best of luck just working in more activity when you can.

Oh, that stinks royally!!!
The housing market is so hot right now, sellers and landlords are doing well for themselves because of the huge demand.

9 pounds? That's a fantastic deal if you got it for the price of some oil. Great job!

I haven't gotten in much exercise this week, I'm on call this week. That means the minute I leave the house I'm going to get called to fix something...how it always works.

Found out today our landlord is raising our rent $200 starting July 1st with our new lease. Not too happy about that.

Oh, waste is always disappointing, darn it!

So, on the plus side, went back to the store yesterday to return some oil I found out I didn't need because we already had a bottle that I'd overlooked. And there was ground turkey on clearance! Turns out for the price of one bottle of oil, I got 9lbs of lean meat.
Cooked up 1lb in spaghetti last night (along with more of that dratted quinoa I'm trying to get through).
Cooked up 5lbs for meatballs (again, more quinoa thrown in to fill that out).
And the remaining 3lbs for taco meat (with quinoa, yes, as well as black beans and peppers).

SO, now, I've got LOTS of lean protein, preportioned and just waiting to be thrown into salads or quesadillas or paired with steamed veg.
Nice. and. cheap. (hey, you are what you eat. lol.)

That's the worst! I had rice out this weekend and left it on the counter to cool (we were splitting it between two meals) and of course I left it out. Definitely less expensive than the chicken, but still sucky.

My first time grocery shopping in awhile (had to ensure I was back on stable footing financially after my soon to be ex cleared out our accounts, leaving me with loads on the credit cards). He's been buying stuff for him and the kids but it was all junk and carbs and candies, etc. I got lots of veggies and lean proteins.

... then, since the kitchen counters were all covered with crap, I left the chicken I was prepping in the oven to cool... and forgot about it until 5am. :-/ Dangit. It was only $5 cause it was on sale, but, still, that was 7 meals worth of prep wasted. UGH.

Oh well. lol.

Ended up not ordering food myself, shared half a meatball with a friend. Had many beers. Ended up on the high end of my calorie range. Lots of good chatting.

Been super hungry all day today, despite having loads of protein. Weird. Ended up going about 300 calories over my goal. But, when my stomach is honest to goodness growling, I'm not going to ignore it.

I'm going out to a professional event tonight and there is not much on the menu that is going to work for me. lol. Might have to eat before I go.

It's had its ups and downs. Focusing on the good.

I was finally able to go grocery shopping last night, for the first time in weeks. The carb heavy stuff I'd been eating for the past month is NOT filling like the protein rich diet I'd been preparing for myself for the past year. Glad to be getting back to some fresh veg and meat and good whole grain products to up my fiber.

My headphone jack went out, but, I found a great pair of bluetooth headphones for cheap and am looking forward to getting back to my running. (I was focused on maintaining for the last three weeks, rather than losing.)

Marchaprilmay, hope you're feeling 100% soon. And lovely to get meal and veggie prep out of the way!

Chrissy, wow, kids grow up so fast, don't they? Congrats to her for making it through another year and getting so close to being finished.
My (1st) baby starts high school in June (he wanted to tackle a couple gen ed summer classes so he can do more specialized stuff in the school year), so I'm in the midst of a crisis about that.

It was gorgeous yesterday and so far today. Rain in the morning, but clears up and has a nice breeze and not too hot for TX yet.

The kiddo officially is done with 11th grade this Friday, so crazy! I still can't believe she will be applying to colleges in the fall.

I slipped up today and had chocolate covered almonds because people always bring in treats and I have no self control.

Sounds like a good day!

I've been sick all weekend. I am feeling somewhat better today, so my hubby and I went to a big mall and walked around it :)

It was supposed to be nice today, but it is SO cold and looks like it is going to rain :(

We are using our BBQ tonight, so after I meal prepped for the week, I prepped the veggies for tonight.

Yesterday was a picture-perfect-chamber-of-commerce type of day. Took the boys to the Museum of Transportation with a friend and her son and everyone was perfect and happy and relaxed and though it was a long, busy day, there were no meltdowns or temper tantrums or anything.

Ugh, yeah, just the word bullying is a trigger for me.

Good ideas on the 10lb breakdowns.
I did mine as a lot of percentages, like 5, 10, 15% through my goal. And 5, 10, 15% of my original bodyweight lost, along with dancing around at every 5lb increment. So, basically every lb or two I was crowing to myself about some victory or another. Whatever it takes. lol.

I'm 5'3" so I won't hit "overweight" until I hit 140, which is so frustrating. I was 16 when I was told I had PCOS, but I never really cared about it until the last few years. I am doing 10lbs at a time, too. A pair of leggings for every 10lbs, though I might start alternating in some matching shirts after 100lbs so I have some cute shirts to wear with my leggings (I have leggings picked out for 90 and 100). 10lbs at a time is much less overwhelming than 194lbs as a whole.

Oh man, let's not even talk about bullying in my younger years. It might be why I was so ashamed of my body, even when I was 5'9 and and 135 pounds. Now I'm down to 229 and I'm excited so far. My next goal is 220, but eventually I'd love to be 170. 170 was my mid-twenties before my hormones went crazy and made me infertile and all that, it was my happy weight. I've been setting 10 pound goals though so I don't feel as discouraged by how far away that number is.

I admire women who are comfortable enough with themselves to wear a two piece. I'm totally ok not being comfortable with it, I can rock my one piece too...when I get to a place I'm happy wearing a swimsuit at all again :)

I like how I looked between 140-170. At the time (Jr. High/High School) I was pretty badly bullied and felt like the fattest person ever, but looking back at photos of me from then I had curves - I will never not have curves, I am short and wide - but I wasn't excessively large and I looked good. Ah, to be as fat as I was the first time I thought I was fat. I am aiming for 125, though. I am at risk for a lot of health complications and getting into that range makes me a lot safer.

Exactly! I remember having a conversation with my good friend and I said "and once I get there I will tailor it... if I wanna lose 5 more, I will, if I feel like the sexiest mother f*cker ever, then I probably won't."

That's how I will decide LOL

Sounds like perfectly good logic to me!

~nodding~ Yeah, there's no perfect answer, just how good we feel. (21 to go! How exciting!)

I wore bikinis/two pieces when I was in high school. I like bikinis but my tummy is still a little big for how I'd LIKE to look in a bikini. When I bought it, my thought process was "I am on my honeymoon, my husband loves my body, who cares what other people think." Now I don't know if I will wear it just yet, BUT I'm happy it fits :)

I get the "see what you want to do when you get there". Technically I should be 168 or lower for my height, but I remember when I did WW, I got down to 175 and I felt fantastic. So right now I am aiming for 175 (21 pounds to go!), and when I get there I will take a second look and decide whether I want to aim lower.

I didn't mind being in a bikini pre-kid, even with all my scars. But, once my stretchmarks showed up, I'm like, nope, cover it up. I admire my girlfriends who don't let it bother them.

lol, I know what you mean about adjusting to not being your old size. I have panties that I haven't worn in years because they were too cutting and tight, and I pick them up and go, those will never fit, or they'll be uncomfortable... and then I put them on and go... oh. They fit perfectly, or, they're a bit loose. Like, my brain still has some catching up to do.
emoticon emoticon

Thanks!
I kinda feel like the victory is marred, because the last 5 lbs have been purely stress from my soon-to-be-ex-husband, BUT, I am trying to celebrate it anyway. AND being Overweight now! I've held it for over a week, with only one day bubbling back up to over 200 (after eating an entire package of kielbasa the previous day, my sodium was like 4x the legal limit. lol.).

I have been working toward this since 2014, so nearly 3 years and am so happy to finally be so close to goal.

... and I think I'll drop my goal another 15lbs, from 185 to 170, once I reach it.
lol all my % milestones etc are going toward my 185 goal, so I won't change it until then. (164 is the upper end of the 'normal' weight range for my height, but, I don't think I want to try going that low.)

Woohoo! I prefer bikinis, too. I got a really cute one for the cruise I went on in January (mermaid style!) and even had to return it for a smaller size (not being my old size is taking some getting used to). I don't really like wearing them though, because I am usually only doing pool/beach things when I am with my in-laws and my FIL is kinda creepy about it.

Also, congratulations MissDorkness on hitting 100lbs lost! What an incredible accomplishment! emoticon

woohoo and getting your bikini to fit and even loose. What an accomplishment. Even in my younger fit days I was always too embarrassed to wear one. I am a one piece kind of girl.

Duuuuuudes, I tried on a bikini last night.

I bought it over 2 years ago for my honeymoon, but I didn't wear it most of the time. It was snug, and I felt weird in it. Now, it fits great in the top (maybe even loose in the bottoms).

21 pounds to go, may have to get a smaller one LOL

My brother decided to join us after all, but thankfully we had enough food for 7. My husband got more burgers anyway (we didn't need them) and my brother brought some potato salad, macaroni salad, and some soda. I stuck to the food I planned to eat and came in under my calorie goal for the day emoticon My niece had a great time herding cats while we shuffled things in and out the doors, and my SIL discovered a carpenter ant nest in one of our trees so now we have a pest inspector coming this week because I am TERRIFIED of ants.
