I was highly amused because when I typed the stores name into the address bar my search engine asked if I meant our usual pizza place, lol. The other place has low cal pizzas that easily fit into my diet, plus healthy salads. Their wings are also done that way - they don't cook them in the sauce, they provide different sauces for dipping so their wings are lower calorie. They don't do stuffed crust, though, so he didn't want them.

Yeah, I thought about pizza as my splurge meal, but, decided to spend my carbs on beer instead. I'm so puffy right now. lol. When my family gets pizza, I typically opt for a house salad or 'naked' hot wings (no breading).

And yes, that is a chocolate scrabble game! Thanks!

yeah pizza is off my list...too many carbs. I'm trying to stay lower on the carbs because with PCOS it's really helping me see some drop again.

I have really bad sinuses or a sinus cold again. This pollen is killer this year.

You look so great! Was that a present you got? I love scrabble.

I tried to get my husband to go on a date yesterday, but he didn't want to shower so asked me to order him "a disgusting stuffed crust pizza". He got a large supreme to himself, and since only one restaurant does stuffed crust I spend a half hour trying to figure out what that particular location had that would fit into my calorie allotment. I ended up with a small thin crust plain cheese (light cheese, light sauce). He will probably eat the rest of it for lunch today. I haven't seen my family in awhile. I still have cruise souvenirs to give out! Hopefully I will see them around Easter, I always build a cute basket for my niece.

That is awesome! lol.

Celebrated my birthday a bit early this weekend. Lots of compliments from my family on how I'm doing even just since they last saw me a few weeks ago.

Don't ask me about my calories for yesterday, though. emoticon Buffalo shrimp and hot wings and lots (and lots) of beer.

I love Pokémon Go. There's a stop at the park at the end of the block by my house, and lots of stops around my work. Great incentive for warm weather walking.

I haven't really indulged in any treats lately. I will consider the Halo when I do though.
We worked on the van this weekend and did yard work. The weather was perfect to be outside. Time to break out the sunscreen though, it only takes 10 minutes and I burn.

I like Halo Top, but we have a VERY limited selection here. Yasso greek yogurt bars and Enlightened ice cream bars are my go to. 90-100 calories per serving, 5-7g protein, and delicious!

Sounds like busy times for everyone. Same here.

I haven't had much in the way of losses this month, which is a bit deflating, since I'm so very close to onederland.

And, even though I keep things mixed up a bit, I'm getting a little worn on my meal prep. So, I went to the store and bought some freezer meals and deli kits I found on sale. A bit more sodium, but, otherwise, fairly close to my macros. Cheap and easy. When things slow down a little, I'll hit up more recipes for my freezer prep.

I also treated myself to some Halo Top 'ice cream'. It was pricey, so I won't be getting it often, but, the s'mores flavor is pretty tasty.

My weight loss is slowing, and I think it is in part due to the lessened home cooking recently. My husband is having a hard time at work due to an insane mix-up with his contract and we haven't been grocery shopping in quite awhile, so rather than cook on the nights we don't get Hello Fresh he's gone out and picked something up for us. I've been trying to make smart choices but take-out still has higher fat, cholesterol, and sodium than anything we'd cook at home. We're hoping for a resolution, good or bad, on Monday. Hopefully closure of either kind can bring our lives back to some sense of normalcy. I have homework due today but I am also making an effort to plan our meals for the next two weeks and arrange for an online grocery order. I am just picking a few simple meals for a smallish order that he can just drop by the store to pick up after work, something to help get me back on track. Step one for getting us back to normal, maybe.

Heya everyone,
Been keeping busy working on my book since I have no job (I finally have an ending! Yay!). Working on getting a job as well for the first time in almost four years (Really. That long.) I am scared out of my mind about getting the job I am applying for--four years is a long time. It wouldn't be the greatest job in the world, but it would be gainful employment. Mostly gainful.

Anyway. Haven't really been eating like I should. Getting most of my calories in one big meal in the evening and not eating the rest of the day. Not feeling hungry so I make myself eat. Far cry from a few weeks ago and bingeing every night. Now I just need to keep my calories in check, up and down, and make sure that I am getting the nutrients that I need from my sporadic diet.

I have come to realize that editing and writing my book is a drug, pure and simple. I wake up after dreaming about it. I can't stop thinking about it. I feel a rush when I am working on it. I can't put it down. When I do put it down I feel hollow. Definitely a drug. But a potentially useful one. Even a pleasant one (Usually. Sometimes I just want to pull my hair out). But still an addictive drug. If I am not careful it can tip me over into crazyland.

Anyhoot. That is life in a nutshell. A large nutshell.

Lots to do, and hopefully a job to make it more difficult to manage!
--Heather

It was amusing, but definitely frustrating since our dress code dictates that baggy clothing is not allowed. It wouldn't be too big a deal, my boss is pretty low key and I don't think anyone I deliver materials to cares what I look like as long as they get their things, but HR is right across the hall and we share a kitchen. I've already got a ding on my record because they consider a snood a hat, so I wasn't about to risk it!

It was too cold for a skirt this morning, so when I got in to work my coworkers and I put our heads together to figure out what out of our office supplies could be used to keep my pants on. Paperclips weren't big enough and we couldn't find a safety pin, so my pants are currently being held up by a folder clip. #yayteamwork

I wonder if when higher numbers it takes more loss to see a change in size, but as you get smaller you need less to go down a size. Just a thought though.

I have weigh in today, not sure if I will have a loss this weekend. I was bad about tracking.

I think I lost over 50lbs before I could comfortably progress to a smaller size, and that took more than half a year. Now? I feel like I'm in a new clothing size every month. It's definitely weird.

I have lost 59lbs and still haven't gone down a clothing size. I don't get it. My clothes are crazy baggy, I am wearing almost nothing but cardigans and maxi skirts to work now because the pants are horribly unprofessional at this point, but the next size down is still too small. I am happy that I am wearing pants I haven't worn in a year or more, but they are the same size. Women's sizes be crazy.

you guys are doing great!
I'm still awhile away from my goals. I'm steadily losing finally with some help from a nutritionist though. I don't think I've dropped any sizes yet with the 15 pound loss so far. My first goal is to be under 200 and back in oneder-land lol.
I am currently at 229.5 at my weigh in last Tuesday. I am 5'9. My starting weight this time was 244.

All packed for my trip tomorrow. It's a pretty quick one.
But, it's pretty good from an NSV perspective. I'll be wearing a new dress I haven't gotten to wear before... and under it will be Spanx in a smaller size (the smallest size I own, gonna have to buy some in the next size down soon).

Got my new jeans, in a size 14, and on my travel days, I'll be wearing medium shirts.
The last time I made this trip, I was in size 24 with size XXL shirts.
Even decided to dust off my jewelry box and makeup bag, might as well go all out, right?

According to the BMI chart from SP (http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/bmi_c
hart.asp) my healthy weight is 120-130 and yours is 130-160.

I think this is all quite confusing and I am just going to stick with my goal of fitting into the vintage dresses I keep seeing pop up in an ad on my Facebook feed. They're super cute, but not sold in my size.

Oh, gotcha! my bad. Yeah, I'm 5'8" and the BMI charts say 121 is the bottom of my 'normal' range (which I vehemently disagree with). Yeah, that does seem like a bit much on overlap with 5" difference in height.

You said you should be 121-164, and from what I've read I should be 115-130. I found the cross there interesting, since I believe you said you're 5'10"? And I am 5'3" (though depending on how the doctor measures height I show up as tall as 5'6" in some offices - but I am not that tall).

Regarding the BMI chart I posted, the important part is the BMI ranges, but, the pounds on the right side of the chart are specific to me and my height. If you're shorter, the pounds will be different for each BMI range.

My problem is I am on track to lose that without the surgery, if I keep at the pace I have been going. I am losing 10-12lbs per month and I began seriously losing weight in October (I lost 10lbs Feb-Oct 2016 and 46 Oct-my last weigh in). But that was basically the plan with the bariatric center. They needed to see I could consistently lose weight and stick to the post-surgery regimen before I could be approved for surgery. I have, so I can be, but if I can lose weight consistently without surgery isn't that better? But if I decline the surgery and gain weight the approval is revoked so if I change my mind then I can't have it later. It's so frustrating.

I have a friend who had weigh loss surgery, she doesn't regret it at all. In a year she has lost over 100 pounds and she is doing things she hasn't done since she was in high school. She is riding horses again and finding love in old hobbies again. I hear the first couple weeks are difficult and can be painful, but that for her the good outweighed the risks for her.

I haven't been measuring inches though I probably should have been since my husband frequently comments on how different I look even though I honestly can't see a change. I initially began my serious weight loss with a consultation for weight loss surgery where they took measurements, but they didn't tell me what any of them were. I have one more meeting with the nutritionist before I've completed the requirements for surgery and then I have to decide if I want to go ahead with the surgery or keep going with exercise and diet. I am really unsure. I have had success with the guided weight loss, but if I gain any weight it disqualifies me from surgery, so I can't change my mind if I stall and gain. I am still 93lbs from my goal weight, and 138lbs from my ideal height/weight chart weight. Several of my health concerns have disappeared or lessened with the weight loss success I've already had, but I am still a good candidate for surgery. It's a really difficult decision.

It looks like I am a Class III, from the chart you shared. I find it interesting we're in the same BMI height/weight range even though you're so much taller than me. Has the BMI chart been updated recently?

So, here's a bit of math I'd been getting wrong.

Beginning in October, I started taking body measurements (wish I would've taken them from the beginning).
At any rate, once a month I measure, and even if losses have been small on the scale, I can see I'm still making progress.

Well, I've been looking and thinking, oh, I've lost X inches since last month or since October.
WELL, I just realized I was only counting one thigh and one bicep. I've got two of those.
emoticon emoticon emoticon
So, I've lost 4 1/2" more than I had been giving myself credit for.

Someone I ran across on Instagram recommended the app, My Weight, and it includes the classifications as part of the dashboard.
I like it just because it has a 'notification' of your remaining pounds to lose.

I'm not sure where I first ran across the classifications, but, they're based on the BMI. I added the actual pounds for me to my tracking spreadsheet (5'8") so I'd know when I was moving from one to the other.
Looks like "Morbidly obese" has a BMI of over 40, or Class III (or 35, Class II, if experiencing weight-related health problems).

I'm not a huge fan of the BMI charts, as they say I 'should' be 121-164, and I've been that weight and know it doesn't work for me. I'm aiming for the Overweight range.
I'd be happy at 185, but, I might try to get down to 170 and see how I feel about that.
I should hit that 185 by fall... which is kind of exciting. I've been at this since 2014 (with lots of stalls and backslides), so it's kinda weird to be thinking I might actually make it.

I don't know about Class I or II or anything, but my medical chart has me listed as "morbidly obese". So I'd be happy to get down to just obese or overweight! I know the BMI chart says I should be somewhere around 115-130lbs, which seems impossible.

That's a great goal! And I'm sure you can achieve it now you're committed to yourself.

(me? I've been tracking down through the Obese classes... started out high in class III, now I'm low in class I, it's good to have something to mark progress like that.)

My goal weight is still smack dab in the middle of the Overweight range, though. lol. ~shrugs~

GOODFELINE, oh I so know that!
My patience waxes and wanes.
I did a rant about 40lbs ago during one of my impatient phases... there were a couple good links I threw in.

I'm trying not to think about it. lol. BUT, one good thing is I'm going to San Francisco again in a few days.
Dec 2014 is when I realized I had to stop gaining and start losing (seatbelt extender on a plane) and I did through 2015, although SLOWLY. Then, between Dec of 2015 and April of 2016, I gained almost all of it back. ACK!
And I was with some colleagues in SF and could barely keep up with them, huffing and puffing up and down the hills, and they're all like 15 to 20 years older than me and not strained at all.
Yep.
That was me done. It's been all downhill since then.
73lbs downhill.
Yeah, I kinda wish it was faster and I could be done with it by now. BUT, I could've kept on gaining. or I could've stayed the same. or I could've lost slower.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this upcoming trip, it'll kind of be a fullcircle thing for me to have appreciation of my mobility, and clothing options.
I'm still Obese, but, I know staying the course I'll be Overweight soon...

I haven't been in onederland in a long time (100s). I am down to 231.2, 12 pounds down in 3 weeks. I can't wait to get closer to 200, My first goal for myself is to be under 200, even if it is 199.9, that counts!

I am the same way. I am creeping closer and closer and I keep estimating how long it will take me at my current weight loss rate and I am like UGHUGHUGH, just hurry up! I was over 300 for so long that getting under 200 was exciting, my current mini goal is 250 so I know getting into the 100s is going to be a wait, but I don't want to wait emoticon

So, I'm getting antsy right now.
I've been fairly patient over the last few months (after finally getting over the impatience of the prior year), but, now that I'm down to where I am (214)... I'm SO eager to get back under 200.

~gnawing on fingernails~
I know developing good habits are what got me here and will get me the rest of the way, but, I just keep thinking about how close I am and I'm all... AHHHHHHHHHHarewethereyetarewethereyethuhhu

Exactly, Chrissy, and he has a history of heart problems in his family already. He jokes about me being a widow before I'm 40, but I am terrified that might actually become fact!

I'm seeing a theme with men and doctors. My hubby, he doesn't yell at me or make me cry about asking him about his health, but he will avoid a doctor any way he can. I am currently trying to get him to get his cavities filled, but it took me 3 years to get him to finally get a deep scaling on his gums so he can at least get his teeth cleaned. It took exposed roots and a broken, rotting wisdom tooth for me to get him to have all those removed too. Best thing ever, no grumpy over hurting teeth.
I don't understand why men think that it's a bad thing to see a doctor. I just doesn't make sense to me.

He had seven cavities and the beginnings of gum disease, and this new office was magical. They were wonderful over all, but they somehow charmed him into making two appointments to get his cavities filled. We'll see if he keeps them but he seemed pretty pleased with them - I think partly because they did a great job in the beginning with a little "get to know you" chat about how you like to learn and how you want to interact with your doctor. They even gave us glow-in-the-dark mugs as a welcome gift. I have a wisdom tooth that needs to come out, which was unexpected, so I left with an appointment with an oral surgeon for next week.

Sorry to hear you've experienced that, too. lol.
I have chronic health conditions, too. So, I keep myself checked up on. I have enough troubles genetically that I can't risk optional conditions.
My husband still looks trim enough, but, he's put on some weight around the middle, and that has correlated with his louder snoring I think.

Funny, he's the opposite with the dentist, he goes multiple times per year and never neglects anything there. (Not me, though, I don't go to the dentist, but, it's only because I can't afford all the work I need to have done, as well as pay for his and the kids'.)

My husband reacts similarly. He even claims his sleep apnea isn't related to his weight so there is "nothing" he can do. Even his CPAP won't stop the snoring, though he no longer falls asleep while driving, but the snoring is so bad we no longer sleep in the same room. I have to take drugs to struggle to sleep as it is I couldn't tolerate kicking him every 15 minutes to get him into the only sleeping position where he doesn't snore. I have several chronic medical conditions so I see doctors every month, but my husband is anti-doctor. He claims they're all quacks out to steal your money. He has several conditions where he's been warned if he doesn't lose weight he could DIE. But he won't exercise, he won't change his eating habits, and anything I try to do to help gets me lectured or he simply goes behind my back to do what he wants.

I finally got him to agree to see a dentist for breath that has be covering my face every time he breathes near me (I think he may have a rotten tooth). We're both seeing the dentist, at the same time, and the office charges several fees if he doesn't show up. So he agreed to go since he has to take me anyway, but warned me he won't let the dentist do anything other than look. So we'll see how it goes.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that!

A year or two ago, I found out he has high cholesterol, high blood sugar, high triglycerides, etc. And, I didn't know how bad his sleeping had gotten (it's been years since we slept in the same room), until I started working from home last spring and heard him napping EVERY DAY and snoring so loudly while doing it (which he never used to do).
I mean, he's only in his 40's, and he doesn't work outside the home or stay up late, so there is no reason for him to be this exhausted all the time. I had coworkers and friends with apnea who felt sooo much better after getting a study done and a cpap, so I encouraged him to.

Well, the last time I timidly brought up making an appointment to speak to the doctor about his numbers (I found out through an insurance discount test that was not through our GPs office), he started yelling at me until I cried.
So, sorry, I've washed my hands of him.

I tried cooking better foods for him, no, he wants cookies and chips and fast food. Fine.
I made him appointments and took off work to go with him. He told me off and I had to cancel them. Fine.
I tell him I want him to be healthy and able for a long time and he gets mad at me. Fine.
He's on his own after all the meanness.

After I stopped crying, I finally warned him if he strokes out or has a heart attack, I'm shipping him back to his mother because I won't care for someone who won't even try to take care of themselves, and who thinks it's appropriate to respond to spousal concern with rage. Not normal. Nothing I can do.

My husband has brain damage from untreated sleep apnea. Fireman carry him to the doctor if you think he has it, sleep apnea can get nasty.

Zombies, Run sounds fun! I will have to check it out. I know at least one of my friends would probably enjoy it, too. She hates how boring her afternoon walks are, sounds like that might be just the thing to spice them up!

Nah, he only did it the once. Now he stays home and takes naps, just so he can have the pleasure of interrupting my work with his loud snoring (I think he has sleep apnea, he refuses to get it checked out).

We're friends with a retired couple in the neighborhood, and since my husband says he's retired too, he visits with them frequently. They asked if he wanted to join them on their afternoon walk. He said sure.
He did not realize they do intervals on their afternoon walk.

Yes, they're 30 years older than him.
No, he could not keep up.

I do intervals, too. Zombies, Run is a fun app with that, as I put on a burst of speed whenever it tells me there are zombies behind me.

I tried interval walk/jogging before and it was quite a workout. I didn't expect it to be as much work as it was, so I don't recommend your first time trying being on your break in your work clothes like mine was emoticon

i've been doing well with my workouts. i am splitting it into 2 sessions. rather then doing an hour of low impact all the time i have been doing shorter sessions with more intensity. it seems to be more efficient becuase then i can get it done and then have time to clean or do other tasks

Oh, editing is necessary, but, sometimes it feels so neverending and I question everything I change and bemoan that I'll always find mistakes no matter how many times I edit.

WOOT WOOT! Congrats on breaking through to onederland! That's so exciting!!! (I'm super hoping to be there by early May.)

I didn't do anything fun this weekend--instead, my dad got me sick. Still down for the count today. I have, however, been editing a book that I wrote. I must be on the umpteenth edit by now and it is still no way near being done. It has been keeping me busy in between naps, so that is a good thing.

In good news, I finally have broken through my 200 plateau! I was 197 this morning and loving that the scale finally moved. On my way down again. :)

Now off for more meds and a nap. Stay healthy everyone!

i went out with some people form work. mexican and margaritas. i did eat a few to many chips but i only had 1 drink. i ike margaritas, but slowly sipping one keeps my happiest the longest. not the most diet friendly, but i enjoyed it, i ate slowly and will exercise a little later when i feel digested.

Just got back from a spur of the moment trip north to South Dakota to visit my grandfather, who just turned 85, and my grandmother, who just fell down the stairs and was feeling pretty frustrated and down.

Driving in 50mph winds stinks. 0 degree weather is cold. Family (without the news on) is great. Only minor political and racial digs from the grandparents and I did not take the bait and start to argue. I dun good.

Food wise I did really well...till night came and I started to munch. The road trip up and back involved some fast food, but I kept it to reasonable amounts by getting kid's meals.

And I am STILL stuck at 200 lbs. ARG! I am back home with just me and the dog and no evil desserts calling to me like there are at my parents' house.

One problem: I am getting Lasik done next Wednesday and will be in the house until I can reliably drive--probably only two days or so. It will be really hard to munch while in mandatory rest mode though!

Anyway, off to read some more of my book and then think of what my evening snack is going to be.
