I like to do something that occupies my hands. For example:
-paint my nails
-play a video game
-play cards

You don't have to eat the whole thing.

chewing gum also helps me deal with whether or not I'm actually hungry. journaling, bubble baths, painting my nails, drawing, games on FB or going for a walk are all distractions that I use.

I struggle with this ALL the time, I will be looking in the fridge or cupboard and be thinking what am I doing I'm not even hungry, and yet before I know it I am eating something. I need ideas as to how to avoid this myself.

Ok how many people find themselves reaching for a snack and stopping to think...wait am I really hungry? Or am I just bored and want something to do? If you do whats something you will do instead of eating?

So far I have come up with these:
Post on the message boards in SP :)
Workout
Drink a glass of water

What do you do to take the ktichen off the mind?
