Hi! I decided to take a step forward and join this site today also. We just have to tell ourselves we can do it! I have gained a lot of weight over the past 10years that when I get on the scale I just can't believe how I got here, I am almost in denial. It is time for a change, better late than never. Let's motivate eachother:) I wish you the best of luck.

Welcome and thanks for joining our team! SparkPeople has a lot of great tools and this team has a lot of enthusiasm to see you succeed!

If you haven't already I would suggest starting with the trackers. Track your food, water and exercise and start setting goals. Even if the goals are small to start just start working on them. We are all here to make healthy lifestyle changes.

Also, get involved in our challenges and stay involved in our forums. I am a firm believer that you will get out of this site what you put in. Commit to spending time taking care of yourself and everything else will start falling into place!

Ever since I was twenty, 16 years ago, I've tried to lose weight every once in a while. I have never gotten past two weeks before falling back into the same habits I had before. I joined Weight Watchers and did well, for those two weeks, but cannot honestly afford to pay for it all the time.

Right now I'm at 300 lbs and do NOT want to go any further. I can't breath properly to sing anymore, my husband and I went to Boston a week ago and were out of breath just walking up a long set up steps. I know this is holding us back. Right now he's working a desk job he hates and I haven't worked in two years. I'm also starting to have problems with my left ankle almost every day.

I know there is so much more available that we both want to do. We don't want to live like this anymore. I've even become very isolated and am tired worrying about what other people think of me. I want to live for myself!

My husband found information on this site while a work a few hours ago and I thought, "Why not? The thing that hurts is doing nothing."
