I'm here, too!! I don't work outside my home, so so-far no worries about holiday food. My problem? knowing what to plan for those out-in public feasts! By feast, I mean at our church socials, coffee hours, etc. I can plan away all I want: sticking to that plan will be key!

I'm here.

I've been doing okay with the soda. I have pretty much cut it down from 1-2 a day to 1-2 a week. I started Herbalife a few weeks ago and really haven't been having an issue with holiday eating (YET).

I had the flu last week but didn't lose my appetite from it. I managed to lose 2 pounds even with not working out.

Where is everyone? The board has gone quiet...

Anyone else having any challenges with the holiday season coming - my office is full of treats, holiday lunches and parties. Hard to stay on track!

Good morning, ladies!

Derby: I love that you are tracking all your food and not denying yourself. I know that writing down everything I've been eating on WW has been a huge eye opener for me. I was really underestimating how many calories I was consuming and was not eating enough fruit and veg. I think it is awesome that you cycled 6 miles to work and back!

Momin09: I am also trying to get off soda, which has been hard as I love my Diet Coke. I am limiting myself to one a day and am also trying to replace coffee/tea with water.

I finished my first week back on Weight Watchers (also tracking here on Spark to see the calories) - I lost 3 lbs so am feeling pretty good.

My goal this week is to join the gym and start Turbo Jam.

How is everyone doing?

today I ate
bagel v peanut butter/marmite
banana
2 oatcakes
squash,carrot and lentil soup v brown bread
5 chocolates
sausage and bean stew v mash
syrup sponge & custard

I did cycle for 6 miles to work and back - beating self up for missing gym - then stopped and praised self for eating healthy meals and exercising,.just need to work on the snacking.

Trying to cut out soda from my diet. Yesterday was day 1 of not having any soda. Here's to hoping that helps with this journey.

woke up in a crappy mood yesterday. i then puttered around and did a couple tasks that i did not get completly finish. i did spend some time working on a craft project. there is a chance i may actually finish it before the end of the year. drank too much pop and spend to much time on my butt.

di a better job at mindful eating. but i struggle when i get home. i got home late so i did not get a workout it, i am doing a little extra walking at work, but it is not the high intensity exercise that i need.

well today I ate

porridge and blueberries
banana
2 oatcakes
leek and potato soup and brown bread
small slice of cake
2 kiwi fruit
sausage and veg stew and crusty bread
small pack crisps

Food not bad - birthday cake not ideal but it was a small slice,
Exercise wise I also cycled for 6 miles to work and back as well.

Tomorrow I plan to cycle to work again and hit gym for core exercise/walk & run programme, I'm making making veg and lentil soup for packed lunches for rest of the week.

hi there I need a daily check in to start me off with being accountable with food and exercise.

I plan to cycle to work tomorrow UNLESS it is very heavy rain - if it is I will go to the gym.

I am starting each day with ten minutes of core/cardio in the am as soon as I get up.

I feel dreadfully unfit and overweight - I am slower/feel weaker/I have less balance and control in my sport.My back aches and my stomach is in the way/I can feel it wobbling.

I am starting with 2 gym sessions per week - when I have maintained that for a month I will increase to 3 sessions per week.I am using the gym to get back into running/to do body pump.My gym days for this week are Monday and Friday.

I need to stick to my calorie limit of 1500 each day - I have planned dinners for the week - my lunches and breakfasts I pretty much have the same - porridge or egg on toast/peanut butter on toast for breakfast. Lunch is either soup and bread - or sandwiches.

I need to make sure I get enough protein at each meal.Tomorrow and Tue eve I am making sausage and bean stew and mashed cauliflower/greens.

See you tomorrow with my progress update.

Hi ladies,

I haven't been online in ages and ages, but I am back on Spark and am hoping to re-join the board!

It is really nice to see so many new team members as well as some veterans - and I am hoping to be inspired by and accountable to you.

I'm probably starting from scratch again as far as my weight loss goes - but I'm really in a good mindset and feel like I am dedicated and determined to finally get healthy. The biggest change for me is the support of my husband - he's willing to eat the WW plan with me and get more active. I'm joining the gym this morning and am more committed and mentally ready than I ever have been. Everything else in my life is going well - time to get my weight under control and invest in myself.

I am so happy to be back and am really happy to have this wonderful resource.

Did a 45 min walk on the treadmill before going to work.
At work moved a lot of boxes and lifted them.
After work, I did the Jump Start Cardio video on here.

Did about 60min. at the gym yesterday -- 30 min. of weight training with the machines, and 30min. of cardio, 15 of which was on that stair-stepper machine. I hate that machine, I was gasping all the way through it, and so I am determined to keep at it and conquer it!

Also volunteered at the dog shelter for a couple hours, a lot of which was just sitting while dogs ran around, but I did enough walking to tire myself out a bit.

Calories were good, but I'm having trouble getting enough protein. I'm getting better (and I bought some eggs, which should help), but it's a bit of a struggle.

Did my 45min. circuit training routine at the gym yesterday, and spent some time outside walking dogs.

Did ok with my food -- went really high on carbs, mainly because I am a total pasta addict! But I'm giving myself one pasta dinner a week because otherwise I'll sneak-binge all week long. I think it should even out over the course of the week.

Planning on gym cardio today (love the elliptical!) and chicken breasts sauteed with lemon for dinner, with rice and broccoli.

I have been gone a long time, but I am back. My life has been super busy since I left, but fortunately, I have maintained my weight loss. I am realizing how much I need a community in order to meet my goal. I need the support and motivation that a thread like this could provide. Good morning all! I took saturday off but i jogged almost amile and a half straight last night! Of course with an 8 yr old on the scooter whoisn't very gracefull and we kept stopping for injuries or earbuds falling out. So i did it tho! Hope to jog at noon today!

Today I did zumba toning for 60 minutes. I took the rest of the week off due to illness.

Yes, Snow. I live in Haines, Alaska. It isn't new snow, we got 30 feet of it over the winter and it is still piled up on either side of my house so I shovel it out into the sun to get rid of it faster.

SNOW? Where are you? Close to me am sure. Usually we have it this time too but we have had a beautiful warm March so now its cold and rainy. Snow expected for tonight:(
I jogged last night. I felt like i had lead in my legs. I think due to dehydration and low calories. Today, jogged really well in the rain. IF it stops raining i will jog again. I do not feel like doing trhat twice! But final weigh in tomorrow so gotts kick it in the rear!

On Friday, I walked for 20 minutes and shoveled snow for 10 minutes...yes, shoveled snow. It's not melting fast enough.

On Sunday, I walked three miles.

Today, I'm taking the day off because I've caught a bug and am very achey.

sometimes it feels like i am the only one on here! Ok so saturday did well. Hour walk in a.m. then walked another hour in afternoon. Sunday did an hour walk. Today walked in to work, walked to get a salda at noon, have to wlk home. So thats an hour.

in addition to wogging yesterday i walked last night, 2 miles/ Walked into work today which means i have to walk home, so that is approx. 3.4 miles. I will probly do housework or a walk tonight if it isnt raining. Have a great day all!

Got my Week 3, Day 2 5K to 10K training in yesterday. 5.22 miles in 63 minutes on the treadmill.
My son wanted to play Just Dance before bed, so we did that for 23 minutes.

hollie wow i could not do that. I have a little obsessive traits. That would be bad for me. But good for you. I wish i had that courage!
Oh and btw ! ran along time at noon! I am SOOOO proud! I stopped breifly twice, Once i had to take off my coat. and two i lost my ipod. I need new music so bad! I just find myself flipping thru everyhting. I m bored with my music!

So glad to be back to working out consistently. I feel better physically and I am much less stressed. I had finally stopped weighing everyday and I think it has done more harm than good. For accountability purposes, I'm going to start stepping back on the scale every morning.

Back on track with my workouts.
I did 76 min Jillian Michaels Circuit Training. Then I got dinner ready and still had time before my husband and son got home, so I did 20 min Wii Fit Plus Balance Games.

Welcome Courntey, This is a great site with a ton of support and peeps in the same boat. So don't feel like you can't ask a question because we have all been there, (some more than others) ME!! this will be my third time. Actually so enjoy and stay active and minfu of your decisions!
AS for me, I did ALOT of walking yesterday. my legs hurt but i have to win the challenge! Ihave tunnel vision right now. Eyes on the prize violet. Sorry a little movie trivia there. I will be going for 120 minutes today! Wish me luck.

I am back. I been gone for a while just being lazy and stressed and busy but now after gaining 4 pounds of the little i lost back (it could be worse), i am back and ready to check in again daily as that really helped me before. I weighed in Monday at 230lbs. I struggle the most with snacking, especially with all the easter candy in this house.. but i am doing okay. I walked with my mom yesterday but today i have been lazy.

I just discovered spark yesterday. I*m following the guides and tips. Ive been getting my exercise in as much as I can. Walked 2 miles today and stayed within my caloric intake. stayed in yesterday too. Really enjoying this site. I'll prob weigh in on Fri. just to see..lol..otherwise I'll wait til next Tues. but Im really curious about how im doing. I know Ive set lofty goals and I still have a ways to go but im hoping by embarking on this journey with other people it will only enhance the experience!

I had a TERRIBLE day yesterday with intake!!! OMG i knew i was eating bad but until you actually plunk it in!:( and on top of it no exercise either. makes me want to work extra hard today!I wish i could put in two hours at the gym at one time. I have to split my time up thruout the day!

I did Week 3, Day 1 of my 5K to 10K program on the treadmill. 5.18 miles in 63 minutes. Also was just shy of the lowest amount of my calories for the day.

Had a long weekend out with the family...I did well until yesterday for some reason I wanted to snack on almonds all day! But I am back and did 2 hours in the gym today- 1 hour of body pump and sprints on the treadmill!

I'm here! I'm here! I took the week off last week due to having easter and getting the yard and house ready. I did loose two pounds and i didn't really exercise since Wednesday. Hope to get out today i am feeling a little flabby!

OK wondering y in thee he%# could i run on the treadmill for 30 minutes!!!!! and the night/ day before couldn't even do 4 min!???? My son told me he football coach told him that its because you are not working. just picking up your feet/ I need expert help i think!

So I didn't get a workout in yesterday. After I dropped my son off at my mom's for the night, I went to go visit a friend in the hospital (she had a baby yesterday), and it was late when I got home.
I will definately be getting one in today because I'm running a 5K tonight.

WOOHOO! I just ran the 4:1 interval just like I was supposed to. And we even jog/walk another 20 min. So 40 for me. so far. I will try to get out tonight and do another set! OH and btw lost another 2!!!!!

I was sick with a bad cold last week. I got a run/walk in on Monday night. Today my son came down with strep throat. Hoping to still get a workout in when he goes to bed.

y am i the only one checking in???? Did 60 min today run 2 miles with dog and then walked with an old dog. yesterday did 20 min of 30 day shred and walked for thirty 3.8 mph

OK OK OK OK i was a little under the norm this morning. I have since increased my 15 min. map route to ten! So i am going to focus on the postive!!!!!
I have lost 2 inches off my waist! So it will keep falling off as long as I am COMMITTED!!!!
Done 49 min Will walk tonight after supper.

This is EXACTLY why i didn't want to weigh in! It hasn't budged and my mood has totally shifted! BUT i have lost two inches from my hips, 1 in the arm wasit and thigh. BUT i am still focusing on my number! Why is it so hard!!! I was feeling so good this weekend and then this happens! Good thing I don't have any food cuz i would be indulging in something right now!

Hi All,

Ok, I haven't posted in a while but I that doesn't mean I haven't been working!

I am officially (as of today) at my half way mark! Yay!

While I still have a long way to go, I feel so much better about where I am and the direction I am headed. My only goals are to keep losing and make each day as good or better than the day before.

i was going to take the day off. But as i was going thru my "skinny clothes" I put them on and realized that I actually got them on! buttoned and everything! By no means would i wear them in public. Looks like a sausage about ready to explode BUT i got them on!

I've been doing so much better making healthy choices, portion control, and exercise I'm shocking myself! I've even managed to log EVERYTHING on a daily basis and have found that on a few days I burned more calories than I consumed. And I've lost 5 lbs in the 1.5 wks. My problem areas still need much more work. I'm a little disappointed that I have to work today and won't be able to make it to the gym. I hope the weather is nice enough when I get off so I can go for a walk. emoticon

Don't worry Lolosmommy u will get back on track.It is one day at a time for sure. But just think how good u feel when u work out and on your journey keep your goal in mind and how wonderful you feel from your accomplishment when you are there!
Well i did 42 minutes on the eliptical at the gym and then i did 20 minutes of low impact on treadmill and then anothere 20 min of 16 min mile with a little bit of running.
So 80 minutes total and knee really just hurts when i go upstairs and bend down. I will just walk softly today and c what happens. I am going to try biofreeze this a.m.
Hope u all succeed in your endeavors today! Be strong and don't give in!

Today I burned more calories than I ate...I do not need to make that a habit..I'm stressed about fitting into a bridesmaid dress for my cousins wedding at the end of the month.

Has anyone tried glucosomine? Or the combo with condroitin? I have researched it and there really isn't any hard facts wavering either way. My knees are aching, have been jogging and at 242 lbs. I would be screaming to if it was hard on me. I was just wondering if this helped?

So, I was doing great with SP for the first 6 weeks or so then family tradedy that hit very close to home and I was not just derailed. I got run over several times....

Now I am beat up but NOT broken. I am not pleased with being back into the jeans I was when I started this. :( Yesterday I woke up and had a sudden burst of will power and "want" to get back to learning a healthier way of living. A healthier way of loving too. I want to love my kiddos with playtime mom outside not "sitting this one out".

I have not weighed in weeks and tried to this mornin and I kept getting an error message from my sassy lil scale. Hmmm.... I will take that as a "E" for Everyday try to do a little better than the day before! Lol

Will buy a new scale in a week. so until then I will just keep on keepin on! Have a lovley day all you beautiful SP!

Yesterday I walked/jogged 60 min. Which is my goal and I was short something ike 78 calories burned. But oh well at least I went! Today's plan, joggin at noon on the trail. I hope i don't get attacked by all the frogs! Wish me luck!

I heard about Chia seeds on the Dr. Oz Show. Flax seed is another one that helps with weight loss. I'm not sure how though. Maybe they make you feel full, like fiber.

I am weighing myself daily. I have one of those scales that measure body fat and such. I know there is a great deal of variability in their reliability (from person to person and from day to day).

I didnt take time on Sunday to get myself set up for the week (workout clothes or meals). I am definitely feeling unmotivated this week.

Hope it gets better next week.

Has anyone ever heard of Chia seeds?? They are really really helping me with appetite and feeling full. All of the research that I have done reports amazing health benefits as well...anyway I am fairly new to Spark People...what is the best way to connect? Spark page, blog?

I am still not weighing in. Freaking out! So i am just refusing for now. I am afraid!
I did 100 min yesterday and 75 minutes today walking about 4.0 miles an hour. I could jog that BUT i am at work so i get sweaty enough from walking.
