You're not alone with the social eating, Shobelyn-that is my biggest weakness. Well, that and drinking when I'm socializing. LOL I have found it to be more rewarding to eat what everyone else is eating (for the most part) but in moderation. After the last 2 months I get full a lot faster anyway so as long as I don't ignore my body's cues that I'm full I usually stay within the calorie range. The fat is usually higher than normal but I can offset with a low-fat meal or snack in another part of the day. Give yourself options that are appealing and it's a lot easier than trying to avoid everything bad!

I just read your message and I want to know how you are dong with your goal.If I am not too late, Imwould likemto buddy with you.My struggle is, I use food to socialize with my family.Throughout the day,I am good but when my husband comes home, I ate and ate ignoring my plans of healhty meals.I am aware of doing this at all times and I still give in.But I hate myself for lacking of self will.I am 5' tall and 125 lbs. Hi I live in NY and plan to start "You on a Diet" By Dr. Oz tomorrow (January 13, 2013). In total I would like to lose 15 - 20lbs. My greatest demons in losing weight is I love dessert (and don't feel like my meal is complete without it) and I am usually too lazy to cook. Then there's the mixed blessing, I love food. All of it. I'm not opposed to eating anything on any diet plan necessarily but the process of actually cooking anything does not sound appealing to me. Anyway, I would like a buddy. Someone to encourage me and help me be accountable. I would consider myself accountable to my buddy and encouraging as well. If you are interested in being my buddy I'd appreciate it! Oh, fyi, I am female, 35 yo, 5'1 and currently weigh about 140lbs.

hello, im a 34 year old irish man who has just joined sparks now.i'm trying to lose 15kgs (sorry im a metric system bunny).i have always been quite active having played rugby for the last 20 years but at the same time always a bit heavier than i should be as im a fairly stocky build and have always struggled with being lean.over the last few years i have gone down from 115 kgs to 95 kgs through playing my rugby but i have been out of training this year through a bad shoulder injury which has prevented me from taking part in rugby.well to cut a long story short id love to buddy up with someone to keep me motivated about doing exercises and swap tips about eating , what has worked for them, how to keep the weight off etc etc, would love to hear from anyone. thank you

Hi all! I'm Erin from Boston, MA and looking for a buddy too. I lost 25 lbs a few years ago looking to lose a few more on SP and slowly (.well, after a car accident had me down for the count a bit I got lazy after I recovered) some of the weight came back.
I currently use my fitbit which I LOVE to get in 10,000 steps a day, some days are better than others but I'd love someone to help keep me accountable and have someone to help too!

I cheated all week but got back on track yesterday. I went trail walking with my family for 4 hours and today I worked out to my work out video. I didnt even gain from my week of cheating. Actually I lost 2 pounds. I think that my body must have been in starvation mode from my strict low calorie diet. So eating boosted my metabolism.

I would love a buddy! I have lost weight in the past and I feel like I can attribute a lot of it to the fact that I had a friend to work out with and talk about food with! I have gained back 13 of the 50lbs I lost and I really want to get it off. This is my first time trying Spark and I am mostly doing it for the support.
What do you find to be your biggest challenge? Mine is eating right. I love to work out, but I love to eat. And for me, its mostly about eating right to keep the weight off.

So I did terribly this week, only doing one yoga workout the whole week. I did get in some work related walking. I can't seem to get into a groove. In the spring/summer I get up early and workout but I can't seem to get up no matter how hard I try or how early I get to bed.

I am trying to loose about 25 lbs...i have been on and off sp for the past 6 years but this time I have been having a very difficult time sticking to my plan and my birthday is this Saturday so I'm feeling a little down thinking I won't be able to do it this time because of my age :(

Happy Monday everyone :) Lets get this week started off right! I was a little dissapointed to step on the scale this a.m. to see i'd only lost 1 lb. I'm only weighing myself on Monday's now, as I was doing it everyday and getting discouraged. Here's to another week though, and hopefully another lb. Could be hard with all the Halloween candy floating around :)

I'm Emma and I'm looking to lose about 15-20 pounds. I've been on and off Sparkpeople for the past few years. Each time that I have consistently been on Sparkpeople, I've lost the weight that I intended to lose.
