What I've read is that you need to make a calorie deficit of 500 calories per day to lose on average a pound per week. It would be good to combine some combination of deficit through calories and exercise. Example would be 250 exercise/ 250 reduction of calories in diet. If you follow sparkpeople.com's recommendations of calorie range and exercise burn recommendations, you should be ok. Best of luck with you weight loss goals!
