Welcome! I think you will like it here! To answer your question, I had to take glucophage (Metformin) in the past, and it made me lose a lot of weight because I had major GI issues the whole time I was taking it. I believe I lost 8 lbs in a month. Hang in there!

Hi to all from a newbie here. The short story is I have 10 kilos (22 pounds) to lose before my next IVF cycle. I gained that weight in a few months during my last 2 cycles - partly from emotional eating due to a m/c by straying from my usual low-carb diet and the medication I think played a part too.

I am in rural SE Turkey so not much opportunity to exercise outdoors (safety concerns) and very little opportunity to speak to English-speaking natives! I'd love to connect with someone in a similar position, ie. rural/isolated, doing/done IVF or needs to lose this amount of weight in a relatively short time. Heck I'm not pushing myself to extremes though, I will be happy with any kilos lost :)

Part of my IVF treatment I have been taking Metformin (for the last 3 weeks) to improve egg quality. I am also on the high possibility for pre-diabetes as I have had several of the symptoms and it also runs on both sides of the family. I had a few issues with the metformin for only a few days (gastro-intestinal upset) but otherwise I have tolerated it well. I'd love to speak to anyone else on met and how it helped/hindered their weight loss.

cheers to all!
