It is hard. When I worked full time I would go to the gym after work (2 times a week only, laughable now!) and I would feel guilty leaving my child there after not seeing him all day. now I am stay at home mom and I work out 6 times a week (my gym has free babysitting and is excellent). at the same time, I was working out for 2 years and did not lose an ounce. Try staying very close to your lowest calorie allowance and don't stress out if you can't workout on a given day. I think food has much stronger impact on out weight.... you will lose weight even if you hit the gym only few times a week, it will just take longer.

I really think you should try the Zumba on Kinect again. Although, you do sweat your ass off! I have the Zumba Rush and I don't hate it, which is more than I can say for any other cardio I've tried.
I have had a gym membership off and on for 10 years and have never gone consistently. I hate getting dressed and driving to the gym just to have to come home and take another shower and get dressed again. I swear it was 2 1/2 hours a day with all the prep and driving. Who has time for all that crap!?!
Put on your sweats, shoes and sports bra, pop in the game, and your done and in the shower at home within an hour emoticon

I have another thought - find someone else to keep you accountable. I have a friend who just started a coaching business and for $20/month, she organizes 3 runs a week. If you want a full training and nutrition plan, she can do that too. But even if it's just a group of you that meets for good walks or chat on the elliptical together, it makes you get there.

And, somehow, getting the workouts in the other days is easier when you have some already planned and committed to!

I don't know if I should be doing 45 minutes a day. I am training for a half marathon and the schedule I am working on has scheduled "rest" days in it. I ran 4.5 on Saturday so Sunday is a rest day.

Wow Kim! Okay, I seriously have no excuse...except being lazy.
I have exercise videos I haven't even opened, thinking I'll work out at home. Zumba demo on the Xbox I played 3 minutes before being so sweaty I turned it off. I'm seriously thinking of joining a gym where I know I'd plan to go and at least stay 20 minutes.
With 3 year old twins, it may not be a bad idea to join our local YMCA where they have a free nursery while you work out. My husband and I could totally use that (if we get there, and we'll have to commit to that) and work on baily stress.

What I do is get up at 4:30am every day. Otherwise, without fail....life gets in the way. I have two kids and a fulltime job, and I am a fulltime MBA student as well and I get my marathon training in between 4:30-6:30am. It SUCKS getting up that early but you feel SO MUCH better when you got your workout in!

I have been struggling lately which is what brought me back to the boards tonight. I work full time and have a 2 year old and a 7 month old. It seems like the days I have scheduled to work out something comes up, like tonight my baby puked all over, poor little guy. I got in my leg and ab workout last night but I was scheduled to go on the treadmill tonight. I'm just getting really discouraged so I totally understand where you're coming from. Maybe having a Spark buddy will help to keep motivated. I think I need a buddy to help me and hopefully I can help someone too. If you or any one else want a buddy let me know.

i know 45 minutes really isnt a lot, but when you have other things you want to do after work, it seems like a lot :( i stopped working out about 2 months ago, and havent gotten back to it. i have a hobby that i've always enjoyed, but lately i'm actually making a little money with it. it's hard to pull myself away from that for 45 minutes an evening :( my small loss last year has been completely reversed, and i've gained it all back. *sigh*.

Hi, I too find it to be a daily struggle to find time to workout. I use to workout up to two hours a day. Then about three months ago I started struggling with depression and just stopped working out. However, I have became determined to overcome. I know to keep losing weight (I have lost 50 pounds since Aug. 2010) I must workout. Since, I have not been working out everyday, I have not lost any weight. In fact, I have gained about 10 pounds. I am glad I found spark people to help motivate my self. Good luck!!! WE CAN DO THIS!! emoticon

Well, some days it does. Today I already did an hour. How are you guys fitting it in? Between work and single parenting, I am really struggling to find the time... Ah, more like to *allow myself* the time...
