Just started back up with Spark People tracking my nutrition and exercise. I used this after having my 2nd baby and it worked great! I hope it works as well for me this time after just having my 3rd almost 7 months ago. I have no excuses now to keep on this extra weight. My first weekly weigh in is tomorrow and I am hoping for some good news. I feel much better already and am starting to enjoy working out again. :)
Reading other posts on this group and seeing everyone succeeding is a great motivator for me!

I've been lurking but haven't posted too much. I have been working hard at just keeping on track because I tend to be a quitter. I started with a competition at work, we track our minutes exercised and the top teams win prizes. So that's helping me stay on track - I don't want to let my team down. I moved continents middle of last year and finally, I joined a local gym on Friday. Took me long enough!
Saturday I did a gruelling fitness glass and it was depressing to realise ho unfit I have become - and see myself in that full-length mirror for an hour. Meh.
But, I went again today for a Zumba class and a run and it felt GOOD. I am not the most rhythmic of gals, but I love the "as long as you have fun, all is good" vibe of Zumba.

Anyhow, pretty new on these boards, but hope you're all doing well. I keep reminding myself to focus on the day and do the best that you can.

I was on vacation last week, and after a week of getting back to my regular diet and exercise, I am almost back at pre-vacation weight. I have a 6-mile run scheduled for thus afternoon.

Good Morning beautiful people!!!!

I will start off by giving myself a pat on the back. Today is officially day 1 of my journey to a healthier slimmer ME! I did 20 minutes of step aerobics and 10 minutes of yoga. I know that 30 minutes of exercise isn't much but through the research on Spark People they say to ease into it and increase as you go. I will be honest....It killed me to do a whole 30 minutes, but I DID IT!!!! And I have been keeping up with what I eat and my calorie intake. I am tired at the moment and ready to take a nap, but it is worth it.

Just completed a 10 -day 10 set challenge (120 squats, 50 push ups, 60 sit ups, 100 burpees) The real challenge for me was the burpees, but I knocked them out today and I don't want to do another burpees for at least 6 months!!!!!!!!!!lol SERIOUSLY! But I am so proud of myself. Lost 3 lbs this month, shooting for 5 lbs next month!

Checking in. Calories in check till now, but saturday dinner is coming.

I've finished Day 5 week 4! Xbox kinnect for 20 minutes! Dancing for 30 minutes! 8 minute intervals two times. I think I will go out and play in the snow before it all melts. Oh and 500 minutes of fitness trophy today!!!

Ok, so attended a retirement party yesterday afternoon, didn't hardly eat anything, had a good workout and a good dinner, got on scale this morning and was up .2 lbs. I will be drinking more water today. Got strength training today and will try to get a Zumba class in, however that is soo late at night. We will see. Have a good day everyone!

Ok, I'm back to posting in this team. Been logging on my own, but not posting. I have committed to losing another 20 lbs this year! It's on and I am prepared to make this work this time! Have a strength training workout scheduled for lunch with a 10-15 min walk/jog afterwards. Keeping my eating in check....It's on 2014!

Good luck to you as well. You are correct changing lifestyles of any kind is hard but is rewarding. It is so easy to get distracted and go back to old ways but with the weight loss I have experienced I refuse to gain it back. Think positive and all things are possible.

I managed to cut my eating way back but never counted the calories etc and lost four pounds in a couple of weeks. I just started some exercise this week as well. Today I walked for 15 minutes.

Whoopsie, gained all the weight back, getting it together now. It happens. I knew it was sneaking up on me too, but I was slacking. Working on developing better habits one habit at a time, adding things in gradually again. Letting new healthy things take root first before doing something else.

Right now it's using tea in the afternoon and evening instead of snacking. Hot decaf herbal tea for every snack I want to have adds up to a lot of avoided calories during the week. Good habit 2014 #1. emoticon
