CHRISTA0123 - - I have been reading alot lately about being at a plateau....I am finding that most literature suggests to increase the cardio intensity (even intervals) to move past a plateau. So maybe this would work for your issue as well. I have not dropped any weight in about 2 months so I spent alot of time searching for things to help me get past this point. Hope this helps.

I just started exercising again. The weight has not come off yet. It seemed to come off more quickly just watching what I was eating. Maybe I have gained some muscle this week. I do feel better when I exercise, so I am going to find a way to fit it in next week when I am back to work.

I feel the same way!! For 5 weeks I have done cardio and strength exercises and no weight loss, but the inches are coming off. I started to get really frustrated, but in the end I can go longer without getting tired and I can see a difference in my skin tone. I am using that to motivate me on. Hope this helps!

OMG!! I completely understand what you're going through. I almost thought I wrote this myself!! I'm the exact height and weight. I also work out 4 days a week and have been watching my foods, however, I don't see the pounds dropping!! Although it's frustrating, I don't give up and you shouldn't either. I'm changing my diet starting tomorrow, I know that also helps to shock the body and you'll see the pounds dropping. Good luck and I hope you find that motivation we all look for EVERYDAY! =)

Do not get discouraged. Five weeks is a great start, and tracking your diet closely may help. But also consider your body is designed to become more efficient and conserve calories is it is not being fed properly. Patience and consistency is key. Give it 5-6 more weeks and see where you are. Good luck and hang in there.

HI Christa. People following Weight Watchers often try the Wendie Plan. It's basically eating less points some days and more on other days, as someone here said it keeps your body guessing.
You could apply it to your nutrition tracker, eat less calories some days. It seems to work. Google it and see!

I was having the same problem not too long ago. I started to bounce from the low end to the high end of my calorie range and I changed my workout routines. And Now my scale is starting to go down again, Thank God. It was very frustrating but I refused to give up, and now I just keep my body guessing and it does what it is suppose to do.

Good luck.

Maybe try to vary the calories a little like 1250 one day and 1500 the next, and so forth. This will keep the body guessing. Don't ever go below 1200 though. In fact I am thinking maybe don't go below 1300 for you if your doing cardio 5 days a week. Another thing you can try is to mix up your workout routine a little. The closer you get to your goal the more stubborn your body gets. Hope this helps!

Do you track your calories? Even if you are eating healthy foods it can still be too much. Weight training will add muscle (weight), especially if you are eating higher calories. How much cardio do you do?

Ok, so I have been back at the gym for at least 5 weeks now. I go to the gym at least 4 days a week, sometimes 5. I do cardio and strength training. So, Why am I gaining Weight????? I realized the scale is just a number, but I am only 5ft 2 in tall, and I should not weigh 135 lbs! I have noticed a small amount of toning, but, My clothes are still tight. And my tummy still hangs over and it did not before!!! Am I being unrealistic here?
I started at 132 and am now 134-135! I want to scream!

I Don't eat junk food, I choose lean cuts of chicken and occasionally lean cuts of beef and eat fish at least 1 time per week. My diet is packed full of fresh fruit and veggies. I do treat myself on rare occation...at least once per week, usually a glass of wine, or home made popcorn. I eat 4-5 small meals a day. I eat a small breakfast most of the time. I don't drink sugary drinks, as a matter of fact, I drink at least 64 oz of water daily, most times more. I don't get it!!!!!
