It's all good; I think I'm also feeling extra sensitive today because someone who's supposed to be my friend continues to call me "Miss Anorexic." I realize I'm going to have to address this with her.

You brought up a really good point, actually--another one that people have a hard time understanding. Although I am within my healthy weight range at both 100 and 105lbs, I actually feel better when I'm at 100lbs. That's the weight that's best for me, and all I'm trying to do is get back to it. But man, you'd think I'd just announced some big, disastrous thing!

Best of luck to YOU! I have to say, this weight journey has been unpleasant, and it's great to have some support.

I'm glad I was able to clarify, I certainly didn't mean to offend and actually I tried to post this as a reply to the other topic I mentioned but I am just learning how to do all this (I'm new). Anyway, if you look at the CDC guidelines you are right within the normal range of health and so is your goal weight. Now me on the other hand...I would be underweight if I weighed 105, so many factors definitely play into it. Nobody should ever tell you to go eat a sandwich or that you look bigger or "healthier" these days or stuff like that! I for one like the healthy, toned, a little muscle look vs. the skinny look, partly because I love to eat and could never pull the skinny thing off unless I did have an eating disorder. ha But seriously, you need to be happy at the weight that is healthy for you, not at where co-workers think you should be.

Best of luck to you!

Oh, I understand now, thanks for clarifying.

That's the part people don't get, I think--that weight looks different on everyone. I'm small, so when I gained the extra five pounds, it was really obvious. (Three different people at work commented that I looked "bigger these days.")

Let us rock on with our getting-healthier-selves!

I am just making an observation that yes it is very easy to judge and jump to a conclusion with little information. I was reading a blog where skinny people constantly get the looks or get told that they don't need to work out. To me it doesn't matter what your size is or how much you weigh, working out and eating right are about being healthy, not about being "skinny" or losing weight, well not entirely anyway. And weight is just a number anyway...105 pounds on you and 105 pounds on someone else can be two totally different things. 105 pounds seems light to me but I am 5'4" and average frame size...that is probably a bit underweight or unrealstic for me but someone shorter and of smaller frame size it can be just right!

Wow. I'm 5'1 and 105lbs. It makes me sad to think you would automatically assume I have an eating disorder.

I am reading discussions on people having to defend themselves for wanting to lose a few pounds. Now granted when I see that someone weighs near 100 pounds I am thinking, okay, maybe borderline eating disorder or obsession of some sort. However, I don't know this person, they might be 4'9 and have a tiny frame, then I suppose 100 pounds is accurate..I am 5'4" and would love to be around the 115 mark (or maybe a little less although not realistic for me), my goal is 120, I figure i can maintain that a lot easier...if I could ever get there!! But again, it's really not about the number for me...or for many of you. It's about being healthy, not skinny. It's about losing the muffin top, it's about tone. We have all heard that muscle weighs more than fat, so for me...scale aside, I just want to look good naked!! There I said it. I want to love what I see in the mirror, I want a tone figure, a body I am proud of...now be it that I never lose a single pound but have that success, then yay!!!! I will be proud of whatever number I have because I will then LOVE my body! Healthy is the new thing, looking tone, a little muscle definition, being strong!! Not the skinny, anorexic supermodel look!!
