I am sooo close to my goal and so close to the deadline it's making me anxious! Goal is 210 lb by Otakon, which is August 7th. This morning my weight was 211.8 lb. If I make my goal I will let myself eat pretty much whatever I want for all three days of the con (plus Thursday), but if I do not, only one of the days. emoticon

Working on becoming Goku, from the series Dragon Ball Z (cosplay).

Today was my weekly weigh in and I'm up a pound. Not very inspiring, but probably due to poor eating this week end. Got to find that balance!

Lost 2 pounds in the last couple days, which is weird since I've been lazy the past couple days and I didn't lose anything last week, still doing some walking but not too much, I felt like I needed a little rest after doing a lot of squats a few days ago and was surprised to see the scale budge today but it looks like that's exactly what I needed. Pays off to listen to my body!

why are you feeling sick and tired? Is that something that just started since you changed up your eating? If your feeling tired you may not be getting enough calories in to sustain the activity your doing. It sounds like your on the right track fresh produce and lean meats are great don't forget a few healthy grains though as well, carbs are not the devil :) and a few healthy grains throughout the day are important for a well rounded diet. Don't short change yourself in calories it will negatively affect your metabolism in the long run making it harder to lose weight eventually. Keep up the good work everyone!

Took me two weeks but I lost my first 5 pounds. I only eat fresh produce and lean meats and fish. I am always sick and tired but I work out at least 30 minutes a day. Wish me luck on the last 70 lbs left.

God bless and have a great day.

Monday check in, haven't done in a while but I'm ready to get back on track. My short term goal is to lose 10 pounds in next 6 weeks. I'll make it by eating within my calories range and working out 5 days a week.

So, day 1 there we go.

This is day 5 of my new healthy lifestyle. The first day was easy, but I have found out your body has to get used to healthy eating and portion I have felt hungry many days even though I know I ate enough but that is starting to go away :) I havent given in to any bad foods I feel better than ever. I have started working out with zumba and roller skating keeping it fun i feel confident I am not weighing in until I hit the 2 week mark I feel like i will see results

As of today I have lost 50 pounds! For a long time I didn't think it was possible for me to lose 50 pounds, I had tried multiple times for many years and failed. Feels awesome!!

I am about halfway to my long term goal, it is getting harder to lose weight but I know the reason is that my workouts are 50 pounds lighter now, I feel frustrated and accomplished at the same time.

My short term goal now is to try and reach 1-derland by October, I know it is possible to reach that goal but I also know it will be very hard, I am going to try my best!

Hi I am new to this but I am proud of my first day. I hit all my goals, and I had more energy today. I switched from drinking soda to water and I couldnt believe how much more energy I had. The calorie counter makes this so easy I really love it! I am really motivated to lose my 54 lbs. I am getting married in february and have a dress that is too small for me. We will see if I can get in it by then. Goodluck to all:)

First time checking in :) Have not yet weighed myself for last week (I tend to avoid the scale as much as possible so I don't get depressed as my weight will fluctuate anywhere from 4-7 pounds in a day) but I started a 'modified' couch to 5k program and just got home from my run/walk for today!!! I used to walk a route that took me 50minutes just walking and it took me 35 minutes today! :D

feeling good!

Now to prep my lunches for the week!!

There are many ways to make excuses, but there's only one way to make results.

Hard to tell, I have lost a pound this week and last week which is better than when I lost nothing a couple weeks ago, so it might be helping, but I'm also doing more toning/light weight lifting exercises so that is a factor with my weight fluctuating up and down a couple pounds throughout the week, that is turning out to be well worth the effort, my arms and legs are looking good, the flab under my arms has shrunk. I've been alternating working out in the evenings or mornings which is now a necessity in this summer heat.

I put off my exercise yesterday until about 9pm, and I'm down a pound today. Going to try purposely changing my exercise times every couple days to see if that does something to trick my metabolism, worth a try!
I've been attempting to burn about 500 calories everyday, and including weight training every other day. Some days its really hard to get motivated to do that much, it has been helping that I exercise every single day, it has trained my body to expect to do something every day, and yesterday when I was lazy and didn't do anything all day my body yelled at me with a jolt of energy close to bed time.

Any July goals?
I was originally considering reducing my calorie intake to 1400, but then I read this article: http://sophieologie.me/2013/09/26/1200-cal
ori es/?utm_content=buffer61d6a&utm_medium=so cial&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_camp aign=buffer
So now my main goal for July is to focus on increasing weight training. Since my workouts are 48 pounds less intense, that is what I need to work on the most, I wish I had a fat suit!
Another goal I want to work on is watching my carbohydrates, sometimes I forget about that. Easier said than done, but I think it should help.

So, those are my goals for July, I'm going to prove to myself that I can do a little more than what I've been doing.

Pulled out my Wii and "Just Dance"d for 70 minutes yesterday, down a pound today! I've only lost 4 pounds this month, with just 2 days left. Reevaluating my weight loss plan today, going to try dropping my calories to 1300-1400 and increasing exercise to 400-500 I think it's going to mess with my energy and fatigue, but from what I've read that SHOULD be doable at this point in my weight loss, it would allow me to lose around 8 pounds per month. I am for the most part good at sticking to my diet, but now I'm going to get serious and watch my carbs if I'm going to manage keeping my energy up on a more strict plan.

Check in, haven't done in a while. I need to get back on track haven't worked out in almost 2 weeks. Where the hell did my motivation go? I feel little bit disapointed because my mid term goal was to lose 30 lbs by my birthday, it was on Monday and I just lost 22. I recognized that I didn't worked hard enough to get it. Anyway, haven't give up, that's something, right?

I've been eating well and exercising for over a week and I caved today and had 160 calories of flaming hot cheetos. Feeling abnormally hungry today and exhausted. I will be glad when my husband starts his new job and he can be home to help me stay strong.

Didn't look like I was going to lose this week, then yesterday I tried Louise Solomon's yoga Pilates DVD and today I woke up to my abs burning and I'm down a pound. Also, started drinking more green tea the past couple days, I don't know if there are any long term weight loss results with green tea but it's been helping reduce my diet soda cravings. I am going to attempt to do that DVD 3x this week, hurts my shoulder but aerobics and walking haven't bee working the past couple weeks.

Update since I haven't in awhile. I finally got my motivation back and I feel unstoppable. I'm on my 3rd 12hr shift in a row. I've worked out both nights after work, Tonight will be my 3rd on in a row. AND, i've been using my work gym, I haven't been in a gym in months. Friday night I did the ellipitcal for a whole 5 minutes haha, I also did the treadmill, bench press, free weights. Yesterday, I stayed in my calorie range, ate good food choices, after work I did 10 minutes on the elliptical and 15 on the treadmill, benchpress, free weights, chest press and step ups for 5 minutes and 1 hill sprint when I got one. Yesterday was the best day Ive had in awhile. I really feel like I'm making a lifestyle change.
Today: I had healthy breakfast, decent lunch, I haven't snacked yet and I plan to hit my work gym after work tonight.
Feeling strong.

I get it. After my vacation weight gain, I seem to have hit a wall too. It's time to get moving and watch my intake a little closer.

I'm currently 214, lost a pound yay. I made a goal for myself to get under 200 pounds by August, probably too ambitious considering how my weight loss has hit a wall lately but still going to kick my butt trying. Seems like after I reached 220 losing weight got harder, I went from losing 8-10 pounds per month to 5 in May, I was stuck at 215 for the past 2 weeks but pushed myself with some harder exercises and looks like it helped, takes a lot of sweat for me to get the scale to budge!

Been a frustrating couple of weeks for losing weight, fluctuating up and down a pound. Been feeling fatigued, even when I increase my calorie intake a little bit. I still think it's the allergy meds giving me trouble, but the "honey" moon (full moon + moon is at its closest to earth in its orbit) probably has something to do with it, I exercise everyday but it just doesn't seem to be enough lately, I know it gets harder to lose weight the more you lose but I should still be losing considering the amount I kick my own butt to keep my metabolism up.

Started the day off good, 20 minutes of moderate kickboxing and 20 minutes of aerobics. Taking a breather for a minute and planning to walk a mile or two this afternoon when the pollen isn't so volatile.
Oh, and I make my own almond milk now! It's already saving me money, great with organic raisin bran and other healthy cereal, I alternate a lot so I don't get bored with the same thing all the time, and it keeps my stomach feeling satisfied all morning.

Hi my name is Lisa and I am sort of new to spark people. I am getting back on the losing weight and getting healthy train. I am two days out from sending my boyfriend on a deployment so I thought for the time that he is gone would be a perfect time to work on myself and strive to reach my weight loss goals. This time I am serious about getting it off and keeping it off and I am hoping that by joining the boards will help with the support part of it.

I'm eating my words today. I tried not taking Benedryl for a couple days after figuring out it was causing water retention, but I ended up getting migraines from my allergies, so I'm back on allergy medication again, Vitamin C and zinc weren't enough by themselves to help. Although its going to be harder to lose weight while on allergy medication I'm definitely not going to lose weight if I go without them and become incapacitated from the pollen outside. My weight loss results were weak in May compared to previous months, but I'm not going to let that stop me from trying to do better this month. I did 20 minutes of low-moderate kickboxing yesterday, and today I'm down a pound. I need to remember to keep changing up my exercise, seems to help a lot.

Well, IT did something, and now the nutrition tracker at my work pc works again! Woo hoo! I have been doing relatively well with healthy eating....but I still need to work on exercising.

I'm fairly certain now that I'm retaining from the antihistamines and/or allergies, I actually gained a couple pounds this week then lost them, I've been kicking my butt all week. I stopped taking Benedryl yesterday, and this morning I'm down 1 pound, but I also woke up with a migraine, from my pollen allergies. So, because I feel terrible on antihistamines anyway I'm going to try and find a holistic treatment for allergies, I already use a neti pot but there must be an herb or something that could work as good as Benedryl without causing me to gain weight or "puff up". I think vitamin C and zinc can help with allergies, but I'm not sure what else.

Daily Check In: I got my chores done, house clean. Relaxing/sparking before my RN program interview. My son has a tball game at 6 so I plan to work out after that. Weighed in this morning almost undone the damage I did this weekend with my horrible eating. My weekly weigh in is tomorrow, feeling good.

All I have in the house currently is junky food :-( I recently lost my job so money has been tight so I had to just buy not only what I could afford but what the other people in the house would eat as well, which means not the best food for weight loss sadly. I just have to keep my head up and tell myself to keep going and wake up everyday and do what I can to get healthy and happy. I have been craving fruit like crazy though so I am taking that as a good sign that I am at least doing something right :-).

Hit a wall with my weight loss this week, met all my exercise goals for the week though, exercised at least 30 minutes for 6 days, the past two days I walked a full hour (with small bursts of jogging). I may of had one too many burritos this week, seems like whenever I have foods that include a tortilla my weight gets stuck. I wonder if seasonal allergies and Benedryl affect weight loss, my allergies have been horrible this week. I plan to stick with the same exercise goals for the next couple weeks, but with more ab exercises.

Morning everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend :) I see a few slip up days here and there when I'm scrolling back through the feed but I'm so proud of all of you because it sounds like you all got right back on the horse! Remember that a binge day (or 2) isn't the end of the world and probably won't set you that far back on your progress its when those days turn into a week or a month that you have a problem. So way to go for making the decision to stop the cycle and get back on track, you're all awesome! emoticon

Check in for today: I can't use the nutrition tracker from my work computer anymore. :( I have also done a terrible job of exercising. However, it seems as though I have learned something because I have continued to lose weight. Hopefully, I'll be able to start using the nutrition tracker again soon!

NOT A GOOD CHECK IN:
I've had TWO binge days in a row. I don't know what is wrong with me!!! I think it may be becasue my fiance is out of town, work is slow so i find myself eating to keep myself occupied. The kitchen has been closing early and because I haven't brought my healthy food I'm scrounging for what I can find...which is usually junk food around here.
So, I've been attempting to re-motivate myself today. I'm keeping water at my desk, eating lots of fresh fruit and I keep checking my fitbit steps. TODAY WILL BE DIFFERENT. I refuse to go on a downward spiral and completely ruin the progress ive made (eventhough i'm prett close to it)

Embarrassing confession: yesterday was a binge day. Before bed, I actually tracked my calories. It was REALLY not pretty. I have no one to blame except myself this time.

Today, I'm determined to "make it right" - I started off with a healthy breakfast and have plans to workout this afternoon with a friend. Lunch is a pretty "clean" meal, too!

Whoops. Didn't check into Sparkpeople yesterday. One of my glasses lenses popped out of my frames while driving! I'm quite blind without them. Very stressful trying to get my car somewhere safe. I'm wearing a much older prescription now, and can't see much, so may be quiet here for a couple days until glasses come.

Stress yesterday = bad food choices. Mostly turned it back around today, though!

@BRKMYDRMS - Good job tracking! Ankle and knee issues suck! I'm dealing with injuries, too, but I can still do a few things: walks, lower impact pilates. It's hard to work up the motivation, but I'm inspired by your determination. Thank you for sharing!

I didn't check in yesterday, but I was good! Rocked my nutrition but had a hard time getting the motivation to exercise. In the end, I remembered that saying I see so often:

"Wow. I really regret that workout," said no one ever.

So I listened to some music and did 35 minutes of strength training. Today, I finally saw that my weight was finally going back down again. HURRAY.

Guess this eating right and exercise thing really works, huh? emoticon

I have been back to using this site for 3 days now and each day I have exercised I have tried to increase it the next day, but that is hard to do with my arthritis in my ankle and knee.

However I did get a 20 minutes walk in today :)
I am excited to see what my progress is going to show at the beginning of June :)

Headache is making today hard.

Staying within my calorie range and sodium range AGAIN today!

It was REALLY freaking hard to work up the motivation to work out today, and when I did, I did the barest minimum that I told myself I would do. I'm kind of peeved at myself, but at the same time, it's WAY better than I was doing last month when I wouldn't work out at all.

I have been stuck at the same weight for the past 8 days even though I was walking every day and some days at quite a brisk pace, then yesterday I changed it up with 30 minutes of moderately intense aerobics and today I'm down two pounds! This was a great reminder that changing up the exercise can be very helpful.

I lost my receptionist job two days ago, through no fault of my own, so I've had quite a stressful week, yesterday I channeled my emotions into working my butt off.

Also, I finally fixed my weight ticker!

Woohoo! Day 3 of actually staying within my calorie range, and under my sodium limits. Before now, this simply didn't happen. Now that I have a little bit of a streak going, I feel like I can finish the week off strong.

I exercised today, too. I tried to take a walk, but the heel was in bad shape, so I did a 35-minute pilates routine (without much standing) that actually had my muscles shaking at the end of it.

Everyone is doing so well! Great job!

Today I did a work out video AND my daily commute as bike rides instead of the bus! I ate well and stayed within my calories even with giving myself dessert! I even avoided smacking tonight after dinner!

Hi all,

So I didn't manage to get in my 30 mins of cardio yet, but I've made plans to go for the gym for an hour tomorrow morning with a friend. Luckily I'm doing that before I take my aunt out for brunch o.O

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Got good sleep again last night. Made good choices for food today. I really, REALLY wanted to go on an unhealthy binge but didn't and very proud of myself for it.

I'm going to try to stay lightly physically active today: short workout, slowly walking around while shopping (heel injury still there, but feeling a bit better), and vacuuming the house and car with my heavy 8-billion-ton vacuum.

I might check in more than once today. After yesterday, I am terrified of slipping again.

Today, I got plenty of sleep, have a light work load, and lunch, dinner, and snacks are all prepared. I went out for breakfast this morning because I decided to sleep in and get more rest, but my breakfast was still pretty healthy! I had iced tea and a greek yogurt parfait at Starbucks (I really like these because they don't put in extra sugars, only have 115mg of sodium, but 14g of protein. They're also lower in lactose than regular yogurt and don't upset my stomach!)

I've been trying to be realistic: there will be times I need a fast breakfast out in the morning. So these parfaits are my "go to" standby for those mornings.

Hi all,

This is my first check-in. I'm trying to be more active in the group. Slowly but surely! I'm off to bed, but I joined the team challenge of getting 30 mins of cardio 3 times a week, so hopefully I'll have 1/3 complete by tomorrow's check-in :)

Today's emotion: Ugh. UGH.

I didn't exercise today. And dinner was a binge. I regret it and am pretty ashamed of myself now. Maybe I should start photographing all my food for accountability.

Thanks! Starting a new job tomorrow morning, part time receptionist position that needed to be immediately filled, fingers crossed it works out.
Did a 3 mile walk around the backyard today, need to push myself within the next few days to do some ab exercises, haven't done an ab exercise in over 3 weeks.

Thanks. Actually yesterday my shoulder was hurting really bad, I called my employer about it and they pulled me from the job, they said its not worth the risk of injuring it further, the inflammation in my shoulder seems to be caused by repetitive movement which makes the job a really bad fit for me. So, looking on the bright side I have lots of time to rest my shoulder, and I have a few different temp agencies helping me look for a new job. Back to watching my calories and getting out my workout DVDs. As of today I've lost a total of 40 pounds, feeling great about that and going to continue working hard to keep up the momentum!

I'm glad to hear you found out why your heel hurts, and that it's not too serious, sounds painful though! I need to be working on my abs as well, even though the job I had toned up my arms, upper body, and legs, it didn't do much for my abs, I feel like if I get my core strong it will do more in the long run to keep losing weight.

Tuesday quick check in:

Doctor saw my heel - I have tendonitis. I have some nice anti-inflammatories and instructions on how to ice my injury, but he says with proper rest and care, I could feel better in as soon as a week but not to rush back into "jumping" exercises! YAY!

In the meantime, I'll be doing a lot of ab and arm strength training from sitting/floor positions. Once I can put weight on the heel again, I hope to get my walks in.

Le sigh.

I forgot to check in and track yesterday. It's entirely my fault - I'm was (and still am) super bummed about whatever is going on in my heel and I gave up in frustration. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, though, so hopefully I can get some answers.
