This is my first day on SparkPeople, I am attempting to get ready for my challenge starting on Monday, taking this by about 30 days at a time, to keep myself on track and motivated!

I was tired when I got up this morning. I had a work-out booked with my trainer at 10:30am and I did not want to go.

I went anyway, and he kicked my butt! I lifted some weights above my head while lying down which was interesting.

Then I did three sets of running for 5 minutes a pop and it nearly killed me, mixed in with an upper body circuit (rows, push ups, medicine ball throws and some other stuff).

I feel like the session went really well.

I got home and was happy and excited because my pokemon go charger had arrived in the mail! :) I charged it and had a nap. When I woke up, I went to a park in the city and walked around for a few hours. Unfortunately, I hadn't been to the park by myself before and I got lost. I couldn't find the car park that I had arrived at and ended up with a lump in my throat and being close to tears. About 8 people offered directions at different points of my walk, and it turns out I had been walking towards the wrong carpark!

I was quite stressed, so I had KFC for dinner. I got home and felt guilty because I hadn't walked my dog for 3 days, so I checked sunset times and it wasn't supposed to go down until 8:45pm, so I took my dog to another park. I really needed to pee, so I walked to my sisters house to use the toliet. Unfortunately, her dogs got excited and started barking and nearly woke her baby.

I finished my walk and came home, and someone was really nasty to me on the mfp forums. I got upset again and made myself a microwave brownie. I fumed for a while, had a shower, then signed up for this website.

I feel like I did well with my exercise today, I have never done that much running! I am disappointed in myself for not wearing my pedometer, not making a bookmark of where I parked my car and disappointed in mapmywalk because it didn't track my walk properly, so I have no idea how long I was actually out for.

I am disappointed in myself for emotionally eating. I feel like nothing brightens my mood faster than forbidden food. It seems to take the edge of whatever negative emotion I am feeling. My sister binges when she is happy and with friends, and I do the opposite- I withdraw from people when I binge, and do it when I am upset. Guess which one of us is thinner?

Say one nice thing about myself- I am proud of myself for my running, I have gone from being able to run for 2 and a half minutes, to doing about 12 minutes -even if its broken up a bit-.

I have some Thanksgiving meal prep to do today, so I'll probably be doing some serious nibbling and sampling as I work.

Aside from that, I got some yoga, cardio, and strength training in today.

I did a lot of strength training on Friday, but that left me too sore to exercise today. Hopefully I'll be better by morning so I can go hiking.

I definitely got my fruits and veggies in today and I remembered all of my vitamins and supplements. I did eat a fair amount of junk food, and I don't think I got enough protien.

I will try to do better tomorrow!

Checking in
This week was really tough for me
Too much work, no time to exercise, tried to carefully watch what I eat but still ended up gaining weight not loosing it
My personal goal this week is not to feel down and try to catch up

Today I went to an interview and rocked it!! Super excited! After that walked for 30 mins and stayed within my calories today. Working towards adding in strengthening workouts to my weeks. We shall see how that pans out. ;) Happy Wednesday all!

I treated myself to a trip to my favorite supermarket and bought loads of nice, healthy things. The cupboard is all filled up with chick peas, lentils, tuna, quinoa and the likes. Also my new protein shakes arrived since I started using those and so far it has been a success, chocolate-coconut ("bounty") flavored. A real treat with some fresh milk!

I did well today, stayed within that calorie range and worked out even though it was late. I completed 30 minutes and am so proud of myself for continuing on day three of really trying hard to make a difference.

Uff.. Just returned from a 20 minute jog in the sun.. Despite having an active lifestyle (walking/biking everywhere), jogging really exhausts me. But I guess that means it's working!

Yesterday I attended a dinner party hosted by a Russian exchange student in my university, and I figured if there was any time to splurge it was then - so many tasty things! However, now it's back to a more strict diet to make up for the calories I shouldn't have eaten :-)

I have got to get better about this daily check in but for some reason i fall asleep at night before i get a chance to log back on and type.. anyways i did great yesterday, I stayed within my goal calories and even went for a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood which was tough for me but really nice at the end. I was so proud that I completed that long.

I did great food wise yesterday! Stayed in my calorie range and was able to resist free BBQ lunch at the office. Today I plan on talking a walk on my lunch break. Hope everyone has a great day!

Okay, so this is my first daily check in technically from yesterday because i was so tired by the end of the day i fell asleep before my 7 year old and my husband had to put him to bed. My 6 week old and I apparently really needed the sleep. Anyways, so to check in , I stayed within my calorie goal which is amazing for me and even more amazing I actually tracked everything that I ate. I am so proud of myself for actually doing that. It wasnt as hard as I thought it was just kinda time consuming finding all the things and logging them but I am going to try my hardest to keep logging my food everyday.. As for exercise I did not do anything but my normal daily walking around but today I plan on adding at least one of those spark workout videos and I also want to get back to taking a nice walk around my neighborhood now that my doctor has cleared me to exercise lightly after my c section. So here goes nothing i suppose

I feel great today. I did have a chicken sandwich and value fries from Wendy's. It totaled 500 calories and was actually pretty satisfying. To make up for it though, I did a 30 minute exercise video from YouTube. It was awesome. It's called Low Impact 30 minute cardio from body project. I highly recommend it if you're wanting a good at-home workout.

I've decided that my new "healthy living" is to work out in order to manage stress. I've discovered that working out to lose weight puts too much pressure on the numbers. Once I changed my thinking from losing weight to managing stress, things have just started to happen. I no longer put that pressure on what the numbers on the scale say. Now that I'm feeling better, the numbers are just happening. If the number doesn't change, it's not a disappointment because that's not why I went to the gym. I judge good and bad days by how well I can manage my stress, anxiety and depression.

Trying to. Ours is just bad colds thankfully, but it's since Thanksgiving now. Xena had an ear infection in between as well. What really isn't helping is Xena being in Pre-K and bringing home all the little germies from her classmates. So far I've got notices from the school that she's had contact with conjunctivitis, lice, and RSV. On a brighter note, we've got 2 four day weekends coming up, so at least I might get to sleep in a little, with the obvious exception of Christmas, because I doubt they're going to let me sleep in then.

Clothes are supposed to fit? lol. I just donated all my stuff that got too big on me. After I started boxing it all up, all the other clothes I have started feeling too tight. But I refused to unpack the bigger sizes and now they're out the door for good. Along with the clothes that I know I'll never squeeze myself back into. At the very least, I'll have to maintain.

URBANAUDREYE - Thank you for that, lifted up my morning a bit. I'm just struggling to get back into this whole routine of being healthier. All my clothes are starting not to fit again and that is discouraging. I guess I need to just motivate myself and tackle this thing head on like I did the first time around.

Yesterday I was looking at myself in the mirror and analyzing every flaw that I have.. I've gained so much weight back and I'm hating myself for it, hating myself for giving up so easily again. Yesterday I went for my first jog in months... it was exhausting but completely worth it. Yesterday was the day I was changing my life for the better... I've lied to myself about thinking I was ready months ago after my brothers death; I wasn't, but now I feel that I am and I'm ready to tackle this and look better, feel better... for myself and no one else.

I just joined this group, so it's my first time posting. My name is Elise. I am restarting my weight loss journey. I was sick for about a month and ended up gaining weight. so I'm starting over. Today I have been looking for motivational photos on pinterest. I also began eating healthy today. Hoping this group will help keep me accountable.

Elise :)

I already want to be home snacking, but so far I had a delicious shake for breakfast and am started on drinking water, since I didn't get coffee this morning!!! I am trying to think of water as my energy booster :)

Since I only have a scale at home-home, I'm not able to frequently check my weight. I will be visiting home this weekend though.
I think I have finally gotten back on track. If I do well for this and next week, I am going to try to go back to my minimal-sugar, no fried food/pasta/bread/soda diet. I kept it up for several months before and it really worked. When offered fried food, my honest thought was "I just can't do that to myself." At the moment, I would take the fries in an instant, but feel guilty as I'm eating it.

Yay for healthy breakfasts! I'm currently wishing I made a better choice of mine. I ate what was left of my daughter's Safari Animal oatmeal before I took her to school then ate a cinnamon raisin bagel with margarine and peach conserve when I got home. Tasted good, but still probably not the best choice.

Good luck! You can do it. It is totally mind over matter - that is what I used to kick start my new health journey.

An entire ocean of water cannot sink a ship unless the water gets inside the ship. Likewise, the negativity of the world cannot put or hold you down unless you let it in.

Checking in for the first time!

9/12
Tracked all my food (tracking food when eating out is difficult!)
Drank 8 cups of water!
Did a SP 9 minute work-out video this morning
Walked about 10 minutes (in heels!)

Only downside is that I'm hungry even though I ate just a few hours ago (and a lot of calories at that, although I tried to be fairly smart), and we don't have any suitable snacks in the house at the moment. I also feel a bit guilty for being hungry.

I hope everyone else's day is going well. :)

Hello everyone! I am looking to lose 30 pounds by November 30, and then continue to lose another 70 from there-though I know slow and steady wins the race. So far, I am down 5 since mid-August. I love barre classes and eat pescetarian.

So today I'm checking in to remind myself of my goals. I'm meeting a friend for dinner tonight--so no going overboard!!

Don't get discouraged Vanessa the same thing happened to me it will even back out if everything is on point just keep pushing!

If your feeling frustrated there are a few things you can check to make sure your on the right track

Are you tracking? Make sure your not going under or over your calories but also look at more than just calories. If your not getting enough protein or are getting too many carbs that can affect it as well. Watch sodium as it can cause water retention. I try to eat as clean (no processed foods) as possible which helps with the sodium intake.

Are you drinking enough water? Make sure you're getting in around 8 cups a day it matters more than you think.

Are you mixing up your workouts? Are you doing cardio and strength training? Have you been doing the same workout for a long time? Try something new and see if it can get things moving in the right direction

Other than that are you getting enough sleep? Are you stressed? Are you on any kind of medication/bc that could be affecting how you lose?

If you can look at this list and honestly say your eating is perfect, you're workouts are intense and varied, you drink so much water you live in the bathroom and you still don't see the scale moving I would say are you seeing inches lost, feeling better, having more energy ect? Weight loss can be more than just lbs lost on the scale don't forget to celebrate all the victories not just the numerical ones. And if after saying your on track with all of the above but not losing inches or pounds for a long period of time I would say maybe make an appointment with your doctor there might be an underlying issue.

But long story short just take a real good look at what your doing, sometimes I think I'm doing great but when I stop to track I see I'm missing out on veggies and getting too much fat or carbs or even no eating enough calories. Sometimes it just takes a little self reflection to get yourself back on track. Good luck!

Strive for progress not perfection!
