I've been MIA for this sparkteam for awhile, getting back into the spark community again and Im loving it.
I've been doing well the past week for the exception of last night ( went out, had a few too many drinks) Today I downed some gatorade and now I'm onto water to detox my body back into normal.
Hope everyone is have a good weekend

I've been M.I.A. from sparkpeople for almost a year. I had been doing well before I left for vacation last month, but I'm seriously struggling since being back home. I remember how helpful this site was for me, and so I hope to get active here again. Today has been going pretty well so far! Wishing everyone here continued success on their weight loss emoticon emoticon

I thought I was doing well nutritionally but my grain counts are too low and I overate on Wednesday.
On the other hand, I learned first-hand that game meats are best cooked using slow wet heat methods. Man, was my rabbit tough!

@Midwestfitness- I'm sorry you're feeling that way! I wish I had some words of wisdom to pull you out of that horrible hole :( but maybe it will make you feel better knowing you're not alone, I feel the same way. I feel like I've been trying so hard and have not seen any results. Good Luck!!

I have definitely fallen off the wagon the last 3 weeks, it cost me 2lbs... However I am getting back up and busting my buns to hit my September goals. I keep telling myself it doesn't matter how many times I fall as long as I keep getting back up. I feel better than ever am completely motivated and ready to work!

I am also struggling getting started, I have really low will power, although today we went to the Big E (Eastern State Expo-like the state fair for New England area) and we walked all day I did not make the best food choices. I really need to get my butt to the gym and work up the sweat. It's really hard because my fiance is actually trying to gain weight (muscle mass) He's one of the lucky ones, he can eat all day and not gain a pound...we'll see how this goes. Weigh in tomorrow morning

Hey team

I'm struggling a bit and figured it's better to just get it off my chest rather than keep stressing about it. I know we all have good days and not so good days but lately I cannot shake the feeling that I am never going to achieve my goals like this is some Sisyphean task I've been charged with. I try not to dwell on the past (aka when I was fit) but it's been creeping into my thoughts with more fervency than before. Anybody have any good tips for shaking this feeling?

Hey I'm Cassie a single mother of one.
I've been struggling with my weight for years and at some point during my pregnancy I felt this urge to explore this beautiful state I live in and a desire to unplug from the digital world and realized something. Unplugging isn't the normal any more. I decided I didn't want my daughter to grow up that way and I needed to teach her. I'm starting to get more and more active while eating better so I can (1) teach Hazel how to eat healthy and (2) be able to take my daughter on awesome outdoor adventures and have the energy to do it. It's been great and although it's taking hard work I keep reminding myself that each right decision is going to make it easier to do it right next time.

Hey everyone! Thanks for well wishes and sharing your goals and struggles, this is definitely a journey and I know we can help each other get to our destinations!
emoticon

I had a hard time with eating and then tracking....that is to say, tracking throughout or at the day. It's been muuuch easier for me to track [what I intend to eat] a couple days ahead of time and then just check the nutrition tracker before I leave for work. Just something new to try for those struggling with tracking :) Sometimes I don't eat what I planned, but updating the tracker is easy. I think it helps with snacking too. If I go to eat something I think, 'this isn't on my tracker, do I really want to eat it?' Generally the answer is no, and sometimes I choose something healthier.

Anyone else have tips for tracking or motivation? I'm willing to try new things!

SINGORAMA, have fun with your sister doing this! I'm sure you'll both get on track! My sister and I lost weight together a couple years ago and it was great (and successful!) -- we did a lot together and got a little competitive which really made it memorable! Good luck!

STARSLOBBER, that sounds like a tough workout!

Found the motivation to landscape my backyard this week. Gained a couple pounds of muscle so far, I'm trying to lose weight but more lean muscle means higher metabolism and the faster I'll burn off fat in the long run. Burned over 1000 calories today shoveling bark for a couple hours, talk about a workout! My arms are so sore. Feels great knowing how much stronger and fit I am, I wouldn't of lasted 20 minutes doing the same thing a year ago.

Hi, I'm not new to Spark, but I've never shared before. I recently started a weight loss "challenge" with my sister and we are both struggling to get going. She started with a month of nutrisystem, which was waaaay too restricting. I am lucky to have a bit of a health nut for a boyfriend and I feel more and more like he wants to help me lose the weight so I'm happier:)

I am really struggling this week. I'm having a hard time finding the motivation and I've been so tired lately so exercise has been a challenge too. I've been wearing my tracker and logging most of my food but I know I am going over on my daily totals. I can only hope that things will go up from here. emoticon

First time ever posting...motivation is the hardest part most days. But yesterday that all changed when my 4 year old lovely comes up to me in the kitchen and says "Mommy your belly is so big again. Am I going to have another sister?"

Reality Check.

Started Neila Rey's 30 Days of Change Exercise Program yesterday. Calorie range is easy...its balancing the good and bad carbs and such.

Here's to hope!

"To be successful, all you have to do is accomplishe the kind of things you're supposed to. Whereas when you are ambitious, you're being a bit more extraordinary!"

Great job, WILDHUNTRESS!

Just wanted to check in with this team! I have 100 pounds to lose and I can't get it off quickly enough! I'm 29 and fully intend to be 115 on my 30th birthday next year. :)

I was active on sp 4 years ago, I lost 60 pounds before I fell back into terrible habits and I gained it ALL back! I can't remember being happier in my life though, so my motto is that famous Nike slogan, JUST DO IT. Whether I want to or not, no excuses. I'm the one who got myself here and I'm the one that has to get myself back!

No excuses. Just do it.

My weight still wont budge but my arm is feeling much better, trying to work my endurance back up to where it was a few weeks ago. I'm noticing more difference in my arms, they're lookin' great, more defined and less flab. I may have to go shopping soon, I can barely keep my smallest pair of shorts up!

I have a happy check in today! I lost what I put on during my vacation... And 2 lbs from where I started. I do think my anxiety is partly responsible, however I have really been staying within my calorie range, and moving as much as I can.

Feeling a little deflated. While I could be much more diligent in my eating/exercising, I have made some important changes over the last few weeks, and the scale has come to a screeching halt. ANY loss helps with the motivation, so I hope it happens again soon!

I woke up in the middle of the night last night and felt like total garbage. I think I had a slight anxiety attack and had a good deal of trouble falling back to sleep so I'm struggling a good bit today. I have a terrible headache and very little energy today. Hopefully I'll get a nap in today and stay within my calorie range because I don't see much for exercise on the horizon today. emoticon

Bloodwork came back normal except that I'm vitamin D deficient, doc put me on 50,000IUs weekly, it is possible most or all my health problems are connected to a lack of vitamin D, we'll see. Pulled a muscle in my arm a couple days ago, still don't know how but that put a dent in my exercise routine. I'm having a sucky month as far as weight loss, but honestly I'm thankful that I haven't gained weight from not being able to exercise much these past few weeks, focusing now on exercises that don't require use of my arm, and I could probably be a little more strict on calories until my arm is healed.

First post to this forum. Not new to SP (member for about 5 years), but realizing that I have gotten a little lazy and most of the weight has crept back :( I am now restarting, and confident that the success I've had with SP in the past will be replicated now.

Not feeling great today after a weekend of little-to-no exercise, but I am refocused and looking forward to a high-energy workout after work tonight!

Checkin' in. My body decided today was a rest day. I'm motivated, I want to do my walk on the TreadClimber, but after not quite being able to finish my initial workout, it's not gonna happen. But, I did get some movement in at least!

15 squats
30 forward lunges (15 per leg)
45 calf raises with chair (15 per leg and 15 with legs together)

When I went down to do my modified pushups though, my thighs SCREAMED for me to stop and I decided to listen. They've been through a lot these past few days, they need a break to recover. Better to take a partial day off then hurt myself.

I'll still do what I can to work my upper body though. I've already done 2 sets of 25 reps for wall pushups, so there's that! I just don't think my walk is going to happen today :(

Hi everyone! Finding it hard to get motivated today. Didn't do my usual leg exercises this morning when I first woke up and now all I kind of want to do is stay lounging around. Especially when I found out we are officially out of fresh fruit and veggies in the house. I guess today will be my day of Special K cereal and yogurt. I think I did find some almonds and pecans I can toss in for a bit of variety. Just need to get moving and hit my goal today.

Hi everyone. I'm feeling kind of crumby today. I'm on vacation and haven't been tracking my food (big mistake) but I have been exceeding my exercise goals so I'm hoping the balance will at least keep me where I'm at. Definitely nervous to weigh in when I get home on Sunday. emoticon

Today I'm feeling accomplished. I've met my goals this week associated with both my healthy lifestyle change and my grad school courses. What about you?

I've been having a frustrating couple of weeks, started out with just headaches, migraines, trouble sleeping, and head/neck pressure for a few weeks but this week I started having dizzy spells, wild weight fluctuations, and anemia. Finally got to see my doctor, turns out my neck has been having muscle spasms, I didn't even know. She suspects me losing so much weight has caused confusion in my body with balancing hormone levels, which is likely the cause of all my problems. Hopefully blood work will give us some pieces to the puzzle. My weight went up about 8 pounds this week, currently I'm only 1 pound up so I'm heading in the right direction again. My body feels so awful that it's difficult to exercise at the level I was a couple weeks ago. Trying hard to stay on track with a calorie deficit, so just focusing on eating healthy and maintaining for now. This hot summer weather is no help!

I am sooo close to my goal and so close to the deadline it's making me anxious! Goal is 210 lb by Otakon, which is August 7th. This morning my weight was 211.8 lb. If I make my goal I will let myself eat pretty much whatever I want for all three days of the con (plus Thursday), but if I do not, only one of the days. emoticon

Today was my weekly weigh in and I'm up a pound. Not very inspiring, but probably due to poor eating this week end. Got to find that balance!

Lost 2 pounds in the last couple days, which is weird since I've been lazy the past couple days and I didn't lose anything last week, still doing some walking but not too much, I felt like I needed a little rest after doing a lot of squats a few days ago and was surprised to see the scale budge today but it looks like that's exactly what I needed. Pays off to listen to my body!

why are you feeling sick and tired? Is that something that just started since you changed up your eating? If your feeling tired you may not be getting enough calories in to sustain the activity your doing. It sounds like your on the right track fresh produce and lean meats are great don't forget a few healthy grains though as well, carbs are not the devil :) and a few healthy grains throughout the day are important for a well rounded diet. Don't short change yourself in calories it will negatively affect your metabolism in the long run making it harder to lose weight eventually. Keep up the good work everyone!

Took me two weeks but I lost my first 5 pounds. I only eat fresh produce and lean meats and fish. I am always sick and tired but I work out at least 30 minutes a day. Wish me luck on the last 70 lbs left.

God bless and have a great day.

Monday check in, haven't done in a while but I'm ready to get back on track. My short term goal is to lose 10 pounds in next 6 weeks. I'll make it by eating within my calories range and working out 5 days a week.

So, day 1 there we go.

This is day 5 of my new healthy lifestyle. The first day was easy, but I have found out your body has to get used to healthy eating and portion I have felt hungry many days even though I know I ate enough but that is starting to go away :) I havent given in to any bad foods I feel better than ever. I have started working out with zumba and roller skating keeping it fun i feel confident I am not weighing in until I hit the 2 week mark I feel like i will see results

As of today I have lost 50 pounds! For a long time I didn't think it was possible for me to lose 50 pounds, I had tried multiple times for many years and failed. Feels awesome!!

I am about halfway to my long term goal, it is getting harder to lose weight but I know the reason is that my workouts are 50 pounds lighter now, I feel frustrated and accomplished at the same time.

My short term goal now is to try and reach 1-derland by October, I know it is possible to reach that goal but I also know it will be very hard, I am going to try my best!

Hi I am new to this but I am proud of my first day. I hit all my goals, and I had more energy today. I switched from drinking soda to water and I couldnt believe how much more energy I had. The calorie counter makes this so easy I really love it! I am really motivated to lose my 54 lbs. I am getting married in february and have a dress that is too small for me. We will see if I can get in it by then. Goodluck to all:)

First time checking in :) Have not yet weighed myself for last week (I tend to avoid the scale as much as possible so I don't get depressed as my weight will fluctuate anywhere from 4-7 pounds in a day) but I started a 'modified' couch to 5k program and just got home from my run/walk for today!!! I used to walk a route that took me 50minutes just walking and it took me 35 minutes today! :D

feeling good!

Now to prep my lunches for the week!!

There are many ways to make excuses, but there's only one way to make results.

Hard to tell, I have lost a pound this week and last week which is better than when I lost nothing a couple weeks ago, so it might be helping, but I'm also doing more toning/light weight lifting exercises so that is a factor with my weight fluctuating up and down a couple pounds throughout the week, that is turning out to be well worth the effort, my arms and legs are looking good, the flab under my arms has shrunk. I've been alternating working out in the evenings or mornings which is now a necessity in this summer heat.

I put off my exercise yesterday until about 9pm, and I'm down a pound today. Going to try purposely changing my exercise times every couple days to see if that does something to trick my metabolism, worth a try!
I've been attempting to burn about 500 calories everyday, and including weight training every other day. Some days its really hard to get motivated to do that much, it has been helping that I exercise every single day, it has trained my body to expect to do something every day, and yesterday when I was lazy and didn't do anything all day my body yelled at me with a jolt of energy close to bed time.

Any July goals?
I was originally considering reducing my calorie intake to 1400, but then I read this article: http://sophieologie.me/2013/09/26/1200-cal
ori es/?utm_content=buffer61d6a&utm_medium=so cial&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_camp aign=buffer
So now my main goal for July is to focus on increasing weight training. Since my workouts are 48 pounds less intense, that is what I need to work on the most, I wish I had a fat suit!
Another goal I want to work on is watching my carbohydrates, sometimes I forget about that. Easier said than done, but I think it should help.

So, those are my goals for July, I'm going to prove to myself that I can do a little more than what I've been doing.

Pulled out my Wii and "Just Dance"d for 70 minutes yesterday, down a pound today! I've only lost 4 pounds this month, with just 2 days left. Reevaluating my weight loss plan today, going to try dropping my calories to 1300-1400 and increasing exercise to 400-500 I think it's going to mess with my energy and fatigue, but from what I've read that SHOULD be doable at this point in my weight loss, it would allow me to lose around 8 pounds per month. I am for the most part good at sticking to my diet, but now I'm going to get serious and watch my carbs if I'm going to manage keeping my energy up on a more strict plan.

Check in, haven't done in a while. I need to get back on track haven't worked out in almost 2 weeks. Where the hell did my motivation go? I feel little bit disapointed because my mid term goal was to lose 30 lbs by my birthday, it was on Monday and I just lost 22. I recognized that I didn't worked hard enough to get it. Anyway, haven't give up, that's something, right?

I've been eating well and exercising for over a week and I caved today and had 160 calories of flaming hot cheetos. Feeling abnormally hungry today and exhausted. I will be glad when my husband starts his new job and he can be home to help me stay strong.

Didn't look like I was going to lose this week, then yesterday I tried Louise Solomon's yoga Pilates DVD and today I woke up to my abs burning and I'm down a pound. Also, started drinking more green tea the past couple days, I don't know if there are any long term weight loss results with green tea but it's been helping reduce my diet soda cravings. I am going to attempt to do that DVD 3x this week, hurts my shoulder but aerobics and walking haven't bee working the past couple weeks.

Update since I haven't in awhile. I finally got my motivation back and I feel unstoppable. I'm on my 3rd 12hr shift in a row. I've worked out both nights after work, Tonight will be my 3rd on in a row. AND, i've been using my work gym, I haven't been in a gym in months. Friday night I did the ellipitcal for a whole 5 minutes haha, I also did the treadmill, bench press, free weights. Yesterday, I stayed in my calorie range, ate good food choices, after work I did 10 minutes on the elliptical and 15 on the treadmill, benchpress, free weights, chest press and step ups for 5 minutes and 1 hill sprint when I got one. Yesterday was the best day Ive had in awhile. I really feel like I'm making a lifestyle change.
Today: I had healthy breakfast, decent lunch, I haven't snacked yet and I plan to hit my work gym after work tonight.
Feeling strong.
