They are sometimes my lunch. I guess it would be like going to Jenny Craig or weight watchers and buying all of their prepackaged food but I think I would get really tired of eating them all the time. I do love the shrimp and angelhair pasta one though.

To reiterate everyone else, sodium, sodium, sodium! I buy a lot of Healthy Choice for lunch, because the sodium is a bit lower in those. I carry my lunch to work 3 - 4 days a week, and normally do some kind of frozen or canned food....so I read a lot of labels.

I don't eat lean cuisine anymore because of the sodium. In the past I would eat them almost everyday for lunch when I was watching what I ate and I would loose weight. My dad had open heart surgery last December so since then I have really been trying to watch how much sodium I eat. That cuts out a lot of packaged foods. I would not recommend eating more than one a day because of the sodium.

That is one thing that I find you have to continue watching is the calories, fat, fibre, etc on food. It changes sometimes and they don't let you know so you are always having to watch the nutritional facts on stuff.

I remember when I was doing WW there was a bread that I had found and absolutely loved and it was 1 pt a slice which is really good. So I would eat it all of the time and know it was a good bread. A few months later I looked up the information again and it had turned into 2 pts a slice I just couldn't believe it and didn't know when they had changed it on me.

As for the paninis, they are SO GOOD! I would highly recommend the southwest chicken panini. Although I have a question...when I first bought it, the calorie count was 280, but I just bought some again and now it's 330. That's quite a bump! And they look exactly the same. I thought maybe they made them bigger but nope. I just chalked it up to them being new and working out some quirks, but I thought it was interesting. I do love those little buggers though! That and an orange is a perfect, filling lunch for me.

I like to bring them to work for lunch... they taste like junk food and i dont have to get up early to put anything together... i probably do 3 lean cuisine lunches a week depending on what my other meals are going to be... as they ARE surprisingly high in sodium.

i like the potstickers and the pepperoni french bread pizza! i bought my first panini, but i haven't tried it yet...

I know I always buy them on sale my favorite ones right now are some of the weight watcher tv dinners. I don't eat them often but I have them in the freezer just in case I don't have the time or energy to make something so I can just grab one of those instead of a high calorie meal. It was the Walmart flyer that I saw them advertised as new. And I am a sucker for new products. I might just have to pick up a few of them this weekend to try out.

MEGS5939, I love the Lean Cuisine Paninis and also their new flatbread melts! Those are my favorites from Lean Cuisine. If you're thinking about trying one some time, buy them when they go on sale or get them in Target or Wal Mart b/c they're always a bit cheaper at either of those places compared to the grocery store. Those little things do tend to be a bit pricy!

Megs, I've heard the pizzas and panini's are awesome, give it a try!

To the OP, everyone has made really good points but I just want to stress again the sodium issue. As someone else said Lean Cuisines are crazy high in sodium, if you'd make a similar meal yourself you wouldn't even get close to that sodium intake. It's a trade off, less cals for more sodium which increases water weight and bloating and is just generally bad for you.

I'm not saying never eat a lean cuisine, I eat them. I'd say if you are going to do it, replace only ONE meal a day with it.

Sometimes those type of diets are also advertised by the maker of the product b/c they make more money the more you buy their product. It would just be like a slim fast diet or a Jenny Craig diet where you have to eat their products to lose weight. To me I just think of them as a money grab.

I was just wondering are the Panini's good I saw them in a flyer one day but I am so cautious in buying something new in case I don't like them.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend it. Most of those meals are 250-350 calories each so if you replace all 3 meals a day with Lean Cuisine, you'll be way under for your calories and WAY over for sodium. They're not as high in sodium as say, canned soup but they're still pretty up there. You're much better off with preparing your own meals using fresh ingredients and controlling the seasonings yourself. What I like to do sometimes is on days when I don't have a lot to do, I cook 1 or 2 big meals and then seperate everything into individual portions, put them in their own tupperwares and keep it in the freezer so on days when I don't have time or don't feel like cooking I can just grab and heat something up fast and not worry about all the sodium and other crap that goes into frozen processed meals.

That being said, I do like Lean Cuisine meals. They taste good and are very convenient and are a better choice than fast food. I always have a few in my freezer but I just have them on occasion. But I think every day, especially 3 times a day is probably overkill. I'm sure you would end up losing weight fast but from everything I've read on these message boards and from my own experience, gradual is the best and most effective way to lose weight in the long run. You won't be living on Lean Cuisine for the rest of your life, so once you go back to eating normally you might end up gaining weight back. I think a few times a week would be fine but an entire diet consisting of Lean Cuisine is probably not the healthiest way to go. Just my opinion though :-)

I've been eating Healthy Choice Paninis and Lean Cuisines at work. I'm not sure if they help, but they at least aren't hindering my weight loss. They help with portion control & I would assume that's the basis for it being a "diet."
& just like the commercials state; everyone is jealous of my paninis and assorted other frozen meals in the lunch room.

Just watch your calories! If you eat 3 lean cuisines a meal you will be under calories. And they don't have even 1 full portion of veggies.. so you'll need to add veggies and fruit (or a salad) on the side to meals, plus they don't have enough calcium... etc. They are definitely a healthier alternative to a Mcdonald's 'value' meal! I use them for meals when I'm too lazy to cook but need to avoid doing something like ordering out pizza or heading out for fast food.

So has anyone done a lean cuisine diet, i was told it works wonders but i am a bit skeptical about it, i was told that i needed to replace one to three of my meals with lean cuisine and the pounds would melt away, has anyone tried this? if so has it helped you?
thanks!
