I did it! As of this morning! 10% of my body weight is gone! (which was 21 lbs. I reset my ticker after a dr. visit) YaY!

I find it harder and harder to lose weight now. When I seriously started my weight loss journey I was 230... and now I'm down to 193. But now I find it really hard to go any lower I've been the same weight for about a year now. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat or how much I exercise. If i could drop 3 pounds by Christmas I'd be happy.

I'm going to go from my start weight in late October, 168.5. 10% = about 17 Lbs. I'm down 8.5, so 8.5 to go. I don't think I'll make it in 12 days, but it feels good to be half way there!

Mini Goals:

I regressed because of Thanksgiving. I still have 13.1 to lose by the 25th. That would put me at having to lose over 4 lbs a week. Right now I'll just focus on losing what I can.

If I would like to join this now do you think 9 lbs in three weeks is to much?? I lost 4lbs last week and I checked my weight and I lost 1 lbs since my weigh in on Saturday. Please let me know what you think. Still trying to get into being realistic. Good luck everyone!!!

Hey I am trying not to weigh myself anymore for sanity reasons. But I am currently a solid size 12. If I lose 10% of my body weight...I should be down to a size 8. So that is my goal for 2009!!! Can I still join? I also live in Korea where they use the metric system which is part of the reason I don't weigh myself.

Started this challenge on 10/17 with 16.6 lbs to lose. I am now at 12.6 lbs to lose. With 6 weeks left, that is only 2.1 per week. Far cry from the 1 per week I've been losing. Time to get off my lazy butt and move. Can't let portion control do it all. lol

this week was pretty hectic for me with school and work (excuses, i know) so i haven't been to the gym since friday, but i still managed to lose a pound! coming up this week i'm gonna try to take this more seriously.. i need this change!

New overall goal with 6 weeks to go is to lose an overall 17lbs... 5lbs down, 12 more to go! :)

I floundered at the 10% by xmas...I was supposed to loose 26lbs and lost about 5 so far...I'm luck at this point if I loose 10!

I got behind, but I'm still happy that I'm still losing. Start of this challenge I was 153.8. I weighed in at 148.6. I can't believe I'm finally below 150... I've been above for the past 3-4 years! Gotta keep it up!


Globug don't get down... I'm right there with you. I still have 10 more to lose in 7 weeks. Just keep trying!

Globug..don't knock on yourself. This is a challenge..and if any of us fail, we're here for each other if we need the support..but, the main thing is that its not like its the doomsday clock ticking down, and if you DON'T lose this weight by the end of the challenge it's all over! You just cant try again! No. You're just gonna keep trying, and keep talking you're way through your obstacles. And everyday as it gets colder, tell yourself how bad you want this, and try as hard as you can to go out and walk or do whatever form of exercise you like...cause we all know this is approaching the most difficult time of the year..motivationally speaking. Also, I don't know your eating habits, but I am vegetarian and recently I have been checking out this website vegweb.com and getting new recipes on there. Most are vegan recipes, but they are really interesting. I just made Apple bran and Banana nut bran muffins with no oil or eggs and they were amazing! And some really good Mac and Cheese made with Nutritional Yeast instead of cheese. (my first time ever making fake "cheese" and it was delicious!) I lose 2 pounds this week after being at a plateau for like a month. I don't know if it was the recipes, if I got extra exercise, or if it was just my time to lose again, but I felt good. Don't lose heart Globug!

As i said in my thread, I already AM taking vitamins and calcium supplements and bloodwork has shown that I am still deficient, so I think I have a problem absorbing nutrients right now, which is why I was asking if anyone had tried doing any cleansing. I heard that is supposed to help a multitude of problems, including aide the body in absobing nutrients.

First and foremost tofugoddess, you have to change how you are thinking- are you really tired or are you saying that just to say it? If you really are, maybe you should consider taking vitamins, because as women we lose a lot of important nutrients and vitamins when we workout. I hope you the best and never think negative always think postive even during trying times.

TOFUGODDESS, I believe you should put off workingout for a couple of days because it is going to be a great discomfort . But of course, you should eat what you like and go to the meal planner site and look how much calories you've taking-in or about to take-in for the day . What I've done with that site is substitute all the stuff they've put up for me to eat because that's not how I eat in my everyday life,however, I do try to eat healthy. I hope this infromation is useful and helps you out.

Has anyone tried doing a cleansing? I read that that is supposed to help aid in absorption of nutrients and gain energy as well as make you feel full faster and help your immune system and eliminate waste that has built up in your intestines for years. I have alot of digestive probs and just found out my calcium and vit D lvls are borderline low. I thought maybe a cleanse would help with the absorption of the nutrients without having to eat more. I already take vitamin supplements. Any feedback? I thought this may apply to weight loss, so I figured I'd ask in this thread.

This is a new thing for me, posting but I thought joining this would be more motivation. I want to be able to lose the 10% which is really a huge goal. I have my brother's wedding next fall and will have to be fitted by March. My hubby and I are planning a trip to Disney for next fall also,,,so I want to get fit!

I'm also falling behind on this challenge, its a lot harder than I anticipated. Stress, work, and chores are gettin in the way!!! Boy...yesterday was awful for me! I ate okay, but when I got home from work, I was so tired and fatigued that I lazed around and had a bowl of ice cream! Yikes! I am happy to say though that I was within my nutrition goals for the day, so I musta did something right! I'm also still down weight, and have not gained it all back, so I'm hopeful the scale will budge with my regimen this weekend!

I'm falling behind on this challenge but I have gone to the gym everyday this week so far! It feels great.

One of the two things we have to do to lose weight is to work out more. We all know how simple it is to say that and how difficult it may seem to act on it.

My theory is that... You just have to go out and freakin do it! Make it a habit and pretty soon it will be part of your daily routine and you'll WANT to do it. Everyday that you wake up is day ONE... a new day to do something good for yourself!

I was able to do that ok last month. I was actually able to walk the whole week I had my period and went to the Rec most of the week. I guess my motivation is lower this month and my pain is higher maybe. Could be the change of the seasons getting to me too..I dunno, I'm trying to figure it out...it's really getting on my nerves tho. lol. thanks for the reply.

I found out that I feel better, have less cramping and less fatigue if I work through it a bit. I may just walk, or I may do a full cardio session, but just *moving* throughout the cycle helps tremendously.

Guys, ignore this...girls, what are you supposed to to when your motivation is already down and you get your period? You want certain foods, you try to either not eat them, or at least eat them in moderation or make your own version of them and hope your cravings get satisfied...you're in pain and extra tired, so it's hard to exercise or walk. Do you force yourself or do you put it off for a couple days?

Yeah, so, I am on disability AND I share my car with my boyfriend, so if I let him take the car to work, I am stuck in the apartment allll day long. I can go on my elliptical, or walk around the block across the street if it's not too cold or raining, but other than that, I feel like I am just sitting around all day if I am caught up on housework. I try to take the car as often as I can cause I am more active, less prone to snacking, and I have a Rec Center pass, so I can use the weight machines and workout there, or go grocery shopping or to another store to walk around. I used to be a State Tested Nursing Assistant and I injured my shoulder, so now I am limited on how much weight I can lift and for how long, and for now, I am not working...but I am hoping to go back to college in a few months. In the meantime, how can I get more energy and motivation to lose this weight? I got at least 20-25 pounds to shed that I have added since going on disability. PLEASE HELP. I'm so tired. emoticon

Excellent challenge! I am going to have to sit this one out. While 10% would be 14.6 pounds for me, and the more realistic 5% would be 7.3lbs by Christmas (considering the late start date), I don't tend to lose weight. I tend to lose inches and pack on muscle (which is rather frustrating when time comes to weigh in). So I'll just cheer for the rest of y'all.

Nine weeks to go and I am jumping on board with this challenge. Nine weeks with 17/18 pounds? If I stick to 2 pounds a week I can do it, but I have to stay motivated.

A lot of us have a lot of weight to loose (myself included), but we've got to do mini goals at a time and reward ourselves at those intervals, otherwise it will seem like an endless journey and sad to say, you put yourself up for failure. We're here if you need us!! M~

This challenge is almost halfway through... so if you are starting now, 5% is a much more realistic goal.
Try for 5% and if you lose more, then more power to you! Just don't stress yourselves out.

So if you are joining around this post, go for 5% of your body weight by Christmas!

few more peices of advice.. Instead of looking at it as loosing 45.. look at it in smaller more reachable goals.. ten percent or 5 lbs. Reward yourself with non food based rewards when you reach 5lb intervals. I save money for a spa day :)

If you have trouble sticking to either a diet or a workout routine I would suggest not sticking to something. Every day or week try something new... I get bored easily so I do different things.. yoga, biking, walking, dancing, gym, hiking. As long as I am moving I am good, plus I dont get bored.
As far as dieting.. I am into WW just cause it doesnt limit what I can eat.

OK SO I HAVE REALLY BEEN DOING GOOD WITH MY DIET OR EXERCISING. I JUST GET VERY DISCOURAGED. MY GOAL IS TO LOSE 45 LBS., BUT I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO STICK TO SOMETHING. ANY ADVICE? emoticon

thanks so much that's great advice, I work at an office and try to do a bunch of running around and what not hehe I also got the ten minute trainer from the P90X work out it's been sitting there waiting for me to do it I think the weather is a big factor in energy levels sometimes.

Do anything you can to get active during the day. Walk around the office, walk to go get lunch, do your spark training in your office, whatever you can. (I don't know what you do for work, so I'm guessing here.) Anything you can do to be active is better than nothing. Do stretches while watching tv. Walk back and forth watching tv. Anything!

I have such a hard time not being lazy i'm so exhausted after work that I don't want to do anything...I do try to eat as healthy as possible but that can only take you so far any advice?
