I am from the UK but moved to Thailand in October 2012. I'm only her until the end of April 2013, but being here means that I have really hit a wall regarding weight loss. I was doing really well before my departure, but being over in Thailand, it has been extremely difficult to monitor what I'm eating (especially because 2 out of 3 meals a day are provided by the school I work at). The food is totally different, and whilst being generally healthy, it is difficult to know what to enter into the Nutrition Tracker on Spark People because many of the ingredients aren't used in western cooking. This is making it all too difficult for me to be led astray. The food labels out here are all written in Thai, which I can't read (apart from the imported American junk food, which I shouldn't be eating anyway!!!) adding to the difficulty of monitoring my intake. I am managing to go swimming 3 times a week, but I have a very busy schedule, so that too is hard to keep up. I have reset my goal and am essentially starting from sratch again because I know the approach I take towards weight loss out here in Thailand will have to be different to the one I took in the UK. Has/is anyone (been) in a similar situation and can offer some advice on how to succeed in my weight loss goals in such a situation? All comments would be greatly appreciated!!!
