I'm definitely interested. I prefer to do cardio in the morning, but I have been somewhat lacking lately, it's so hard to get out of bed.
I tried to leave you a message on your spark page but it's private. So shoot me a message tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm planning on GETTING OUT OF BED at 6am and should be at the gym around 7am for my workout. I just need to get out of bed at 6 and not lay there while I "wake up." Maybe if I know I have someone to respond to in the morning, it will help.
I'll definitely be your buddy! I can't run because of a hip injury, but I like to get up in the morning and workout. And I've found that when you have a buddy, both people's weight loss starts mirroring each other because you encourage each other.
In the past having a buddy has helped me a lot. I've been on and off spark a number of times and the times when I have stuck with it were when I had a buddy I was in touch with. Two summers ago I had a spark buddy and she and I would message each other every AM when we got up before our workouts and then again afterward. Know that someone else cared if I got my ass out of bed and out for a run was a huge motivator. If she got up and worked out and I didn't it was like I was letting her down.

I ran a marathon this spring but and struggling to get back into the habit of running right now. I'm about ten pounds over my "comfortable weight" of 133 and my goal is around 118. My boyfriend just asked me to go to his cousin's wedding in Sept. (HUGE! I'll be meeting his family for the first time) and I want to be able to fit back into my nice dresses by then. right now my boobs are too big.
so anyone who runs, or tries too :-) and is looking to lose about 10lbs by Sept... WANT TO BE MY BUDDY?!

I think buddies are great! I have not had one on here, but i think it would be postive. I have had a friend i would run with and it did help, but other than her i had bad luck because they are much better than me (my husbad, runs FAR ahead of me, and he eats WHATEVER he wants and looks great) so that is really discouraging...there is definatly some good in it...someone to talk to who understands what you are going though and how you feel without saying "oh, you looks fine" when you don't feel it....
I think buddies are great. I've had one on Spark friend and we kept each other really motivated, then she kinda fell off the map.
Buddies give me a competitive and supportive at the same time, if that's possible. I like logging on and seeing that they worked out because I feel like I need to go work out. And usually, since you're doing similar things, your weight loss mirrors each other. I think groups are great also, that way you can really find someone you click with!
I really dislike having "gym buddies", because it definitely screws up my concentration. As far as my workouts go, I do MUCH better if I am there alone. However, I would LOVE to have a "motivation buddy" or "chat buddy"... My boyfriend is getting SOOOOO tired about hearing about my scale, weight loss, gym, exercise, etc etc...I think he prob wants to shake me lol

Honestly, I don't feel like I've been active enough on here to find an online buddy that has really motivated...maybe I just haven't found the right one.
But I can say that having a buddy at home makes all the difference in my efforts. My sister and mom each at one point were following a plan with me. Having a someone to go to the gym with every morning - even if I didn't feel like going, I knew someone else was counting on me to be there. Also having someone to report to who knows what you're going through is very helpful.
I know everyone on here is also going through the same thing, but having someone who is close to me (mom/sister/best friend level) helps me feel more accountable.
I couldn't do it without my buddy(s) (either my mom or best friend). I have tried multiple times to lose weight by myself but I always ended up "too tired" or "starving" and ended up back off track. This time I have my mom swimming with me almost daily and we weight in once a week (or so) and my best friend jogs with me. It works so well... And I'm assuming that soon I will find someone I click with on here that I will add to that list... They may not see me face to face, but I will be accountable to them.
I'm interested in this supportive team aspect of getting in shape. I'm not sure the minimal search criteria of this site will help me find a like minded, like-bodied, weight loss buddy...but maybe I am wrong.
