It's a sad day for daytime fans as we're all mourning the passing of Frances Reid, at the age of 95. Frances played Days of our Lives matriarch Alice Horton since the show debuted in 1965. She last aired in 2007, but her presence continued to be felt in the show (how we always love to hear Hope talk about her "Gran"!).
Across five decades on the show, Frances was a stalwart performer and unifying presence . No matter who traveled through Salem, Alice was the constant.
Days executive producer Ken Corday had this to day about Frances: "This is a very sad day, indeed; not only for me personally, but for the Days of our Lives family and the entire Hollywood community. From day one until she taped her last scene, Frances epitomized the past, present, and future of the show. Frances was truly one of a kind. Her class cannot be matched, and her shoes cannot be filled… we will miss her all the rest of our days."
Rest in peace mrs Horton/Reid u will dearly missed!!!
