Hello to all that read this response. I am happy to be joining this team. It is unique to able to find something so special and new to hold us together. Being a Phoenix is something to rally around. I went to online classes for Accounting, but had to stop. It's not the 1st time I had to give away a dream to assist in the betterment of others, but I'll one day Be able to go back. Education is important to me, and I seek it out where I can find it. I see the team is goi g through some changes and froth is good. I hope to be a great supporter to all of you. Hopefully, we will all be on SP long after graduations and past my retirement. Glad to be here. Thanks in advance for your comments and support.
As Tracy did mention we are not a very active team and it would be nice to have some feather shaking action come to effect. Lol, Ok, I hope we can start by challenging each other or simply messaging each other to motivate each other.
To start, I did graduate in 2011, and still have not done what I had plan to do. Therefore, here aside from wanting to get back on track with my healthy lifestyle I'm also planning to start my business plan. I want to open up my own Clothing Store business....So I guess my first step is to start working on my business plan.
I am reaching my goal TODAY; EVERYDAY! Fabi

Hello everyone. I'm Moni, and I, too received my BSHA/LTC in 2012. I am taking an academic break to pay down my student loans before continuing my graduate degree. Renee, I love that you're pursuing your degree with a concentration in gerontology, as that is my interest. I'm a babyboomer, so it may be with a bit of self-interest that I have a heightened awareness of the aging population's health needs.
I have been a member of SparkPeople for 7 years, but was pretty much uninvolved while pursuing my undergraduate degree/working full-time. My health has suffered and I had a huge wake-up call earlier this month when I collapsed at work and ended up in the hospital for a week. Acute bronchitis, extreme dehydration which triggered alarmingly low potassium levels, and spiking glucose numbers. The bronchitis and potassium issues have been addressed, but I am facing serious lifestyle changes to manage my newly diagnosed diabetes.
Looking forward to working with all of you as we seek our individual goals. I know this site will help me keep focused on being healthier. Drink water --often!!!!! Find delicious ways to prepare healthy meals --eat 3 meals a day, not just 1 large one.
Any tips and techniques you can share is most appreciated. I have been on a path of nutritional destruction for so long that I need a fresh perspective.
Aloha, Moni --and I'm A Phoenix
