I'm going to try your Basic Spaghetti sauce recipe..I wonder how much oregano and basil you would use if you used fresh herbs instead of dried?

My fiance is on a low sodium diet and since the only low sodium sauces in the grocery store were about $8 a jar, I have started making my own.
Here's my recipe: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai
asp?recipe=496280 It only takes about 20 minutes to make and it's delicious.
It makes about 7 cups of sauce. A one-cup serving is about 75 calories.

I just made some in the crockpot the other nightand I've never made homemade sauce before.
I take a big can of tomato puree and a big can of petite diced tomatos,a small can of tomato paste, a couple of bay leaves, italian seasoning, chopped onions and garlic. I also put in a little bit of surgar to help with the acidity of the tomatos. just mix it all together and let it cook. It turned out great!
