I just went on a road trip ( 3 1/2 hours) ... I took quaker rice cakes with me, counted out in bags, hostess 100 calorie snacks and I had a sandwich brought with me from home, also a ww yogurt. Packed everything in my mini cooler.

I also do fruit and sandwiches. I usually make turkey and cheese with mustard on whole wheat bread. I have a lunch bag that is termal and it keeps food cool. I have also made gazpacheo chilled, then put in a thermos. I also freeze bottles of water and then they defrost in the car. Good luck.

We just did that we traveled from PA to RI-MA-Maine 8 hours on the road and then four days out sightseeing. We packed strawberries, pineapple apples, frozen grapes, celery, carrots, raisins, sandwiches made out of lettuce turkey and cheese and several pouches of dried fruit. In our case when we travel we only stop to strech our legs then back again in the truck to our destination. Good luck, I hope this helps

A good idea may be to map out your location to see if there are any subways on your route. Those are great for nutritious lunches. And if you are looking for snacks to avoid bad stuff at gas stations, you can pack peanuts, fruit, special k protein bars and fiber bars (so yummy), etc.
