I love fresh corn on the cob. Usually, I douse it in butter and I had to stop that. If you mix a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, throw in some parsley, garlic powder, salt and pepper, brush it on the corn and throw it on the grill (lined with foil of course). It tastes great and I really don't miss the butter. Yes, it has the oil but olive oil is a good fat!!
And did you know it is actually excellent raw!?!? And much healthier for you too! Try slicing it from the cob, adding a sprinkle of sea salt and some freshly ground pepper and eating it as is or slightly warmed. Keeps the sugars from turning starchy and you'll also notice it can be fully digested (without showing up later in the same form as when you ate it, if you know what I mean!)
"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."
I love corn also but with my Diabetes I can only have a 1/2 cup. I can't get that small.
Do Not Worry
6:25-33 pp—Lk 12:22-31
Mt 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
I love corn on the cob. I grill it. I think it gives it a smokey taste. I grill it without shucking it. I soak in water for 15 to 20 minutes before putting on the grill. Then I use natures way spray butter and a lot of pepper. When I have this, I know summer has arrived. It makes me happy.
I kinda want to make sweet corn...seems like fairly low calorie/healthy, assuming I don't smother it with butter. So any recipe/cooking tips for corn on the cob and seasonings for it? I'll have to find the nutrional info for it before I execute, but I'm craving it nonetheless.
