thanks so much for the ideas. i'm old fashioned in that i like to sit down with a book and leaf through it. i'll try the library for ideas. thanks again to everyone. i am going to try 1 recipe per week so my family doesn't complain TOO much..lol. does anyone else get hassled at home about cooking healthy? my 14 yr old daughter said 'great mom's on a diet which means we get to starve'

I dont have too many cook books myself, but I have every subscription to Light & Tasty from 2002-2008. You can go online as well and get some free recipes for non-members.

x?r_d=y becareful that it says the recipe is from Light & Tasty and not a different mag such as Taste of Home otherwise it's not low cal, healthy etc...You'll see when you check it out.

My goal is to try and make 2-3 new recipes a week. My husband told my daughter to try the dinner one night and she wouldnt. He said to her she was missing my best cooking ever! Now that was a huge pick me up!

Oh I do believe you can buy the cook book which is all the subscriptions rolled into one book, might be easier to handle.

The library is a great idea. Also cooking lights website will let you do recipe searches. If you limit the search to Cooking Light through the enhanced search you can get nutiritional information as well for all kinds of recipes. Sparkrecipes also has some good choices.

I would go to the library and take cook books out to try, that way you can tests things out on the family!
I wish you good luck.

No foods with high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.

No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.

If an item has more than 10 ingredients it is too processed, I will not eat or buy the item.
