i have a hair stylist friend , she probaly will find a solution, i have to search for those bells, i can make the costume and the eye patch but i don't know about the sword. anyway i'll see , maybe i'll start with an easier character. but i still can think only at guys!yuko is great, good idea, you need a kimono and sake LOL!

Hmmm... Cora, those are interesting issues with Zaraki!


I think you're much too beautiful for Zaraki, so you'll have to do quite a makeup job--it isn't just that hair! I DO have my eyepatch from my Kaede costume from InuYasha that I could lend you...

How would you do the hair? Would you try to use your own hair? A wig? Painted foam?? It seems like you'd need super glue to make hair stand out like that!


Zaraki would be a fun character to cosplay though. My current fantasy is to lose enough weight to cosplay as Yuko-san from xxxHolic. I don't know if it's possible for me to lose that much weight or to lose it without having a train of loose skin following me around, but that's my fantasy. She's a woman, not a girl, who wears gorgeous sexy clothes. I'm hoping I wouldn't be considered "too old" to cosplay as Yuko-san--if I could just get the body to go with the character.

Pam , i have other issues, i would like to cosplay zaraki from bleach , try to make that hair real! but i like lolita too, i think i'm close to the moment when i could wear that kind of thing even if i'm a little old for that

That's one of my long-term goals too. Well, not dressing like Mana (I won't steal your idea), but to be able to cosplay as a cute female anime character with a normal body--instead of looking for costume/characters that fit my fat body.

I love lolita, and gothic lolita, One of my cosplay goals is to dress as Mana, I need to lose a lot more weight to wear something that short though. But I can do it! I can't wait to dress up like Mana XD

I think once I reach my goal weight I will wear the dresses, no matter how old I am(people already give me weird looks so it's nothing new) But you are right it is a VERY expensive fashion statement. Esp. if you buy brand. I am thinking of learning to sew but I can't even figure out how to thread the darn machine!!!!

yes I have seen quite a few Lolita girls, usually when we go downtown to Shibuya on a weekend. i think they are gorgeous and I wish my 9 yo daughter liked it. she calls them little bo geek, awful isn't she???

I wish I was gutsy enough to wear stuff like that. I may be a little old for this fashion, but I also don't have a lot of expendable income, so most of my clothes are casual/classy, with an outlandish accent piece thrown in for "shock" value.

Actually I have been so caught up in "LIFE" lately that I haven't even had time to think about shopping, waaaaah.

good luck finding the decent clothes manufacture, w/ decent prices.

I love the way that people walk around so confidently in Osaka sporting crazy fashions and no one looks at them in a strange way. Everyone is so free to express themselves and dress as they please. It is so liberating and amazing to see!

At first I thought they were outrageous, but now I enjoy stealing a few fashion tips from them myself.

I am in a Lolita guild on Gaia and I have heard that the distributor that makes the dress I want has a history of using shoddy materials and bad work, so I will NOT be ordering that dress!! T_T That kinda sucks because I really liked it! OH WELL I did find someone else on ebay that has a really good rep. So I will try them. I will post pics of me in my Lolita outfits ASAP! I bought ny first digital camera yesterday!! AND IT'S PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!

That's awesome!!! I would like to be able to make my own clothes but I CANNOT sew at all! But the way I look at it is if I am going to spend that much money on an outfit I am gonna buy it at my goal weight so if I put on weight I will get REALLY mad and diet again so I can fit into my outfit again! I like the cute pink dresses so I would be considered Sweet Lolita or Wa Lolita. I LOVE kimonos!

I love to dress egl... even at my weight. My luck goes to the fact that one of my best friends is a fashion design major who makes egl like clothing an di'm her plus size model. so i get a few cute looks.

Has anyone seen or heard about this fashion style that's really popular in Japan right now? I have seen some pictures and read a little bit about it and I LOVE it the clothes are so cute! When I lose this weight I want to organize a lolita day once a week in my area and have people meet dressed up. I think that would be so much fun!
