Wow--what a parade of people at your home!

Another creepy Facebook "friend," huh? Beading and job searching sound like more fun anyway. Yes, even job hunting sound like more fun than dealing with Facebook creeps.

Late Tuesday night the senate approved and Obama signed an extension on Federal unemployment benefits! The extension goes through April 5. If it's like the last extension, then qualifying for Tier 1 benefits will need to happen a week earlier. So I'll qualify for Tier 1 and not be left in the cold in two weeks. *whew*

we had a visiting nurse yesterday and now for the next 3-4 weeks we'll be having a variety of people coming and going in our house.

I will also be taking a break from FB as i just had a new friend proceed to let me know that they "Love Me" how weird, creepy and gutsy of that person so i'm now focusing on beading and job searching.

Hey, is anybody besides me having trouble with SparkPeople during the last 2-3 days? It's sluggish, and whenever I try to post to any threads it's REALLY sluggish--taking over 2 minutes to finish loading the page (mainly all the stuff on the right side bar, like Friend Feed). I haven't posted much anywhere as a result. This is the only site where I'm having this trouble.

I'm SO glad to hear that your grandpa has improved to the point that they plan to release him from the hospital on Monday for rehab. He's been in there so long that I've been afraid to ask how he's doing.

Yeah, I'm still jobless too. There's a job I want (18-month contract but way better than no job), but it doesn't look like I've advanced to the next level of interview. I was supposed to hear something one way or the other by Friday, 2/12; I've heard nothing. It's with the State, and my friends tell me not to give up hope yet because the State moves so slowly with jobs.

Cool links!I like the egg ocarina. I don't have a drill like that, but I've emptied a lot of eggs for special Easter decorating by using a toothpick to make holes at both ends--and then blown on one end to empty the egg.

Hey, how's your job search doing? I'm still unemployed, but I found a couple jobs to apply for that may not just ignore me. At least I might get an in-person interview. I hope I get a job soon! I'll miss Obama's extension for qualifying for Tier 1 Federal Unemployment Benefits by 3 weeks. I haven't been out of a job long ENOUGH, so I'll get zilch. Because of COURSE the job market has picked up. *cough* *cough* NOT!

His sugar goes down to 79 then later in the day it will go up to 470, very frustrating.

Lullaby is a Toyvoyager and she will be traveling to six other people in various parts of the world as i can not afford to do it myself i'm living through her. There is a link somewhere below.

According to the Chinese horoscope Traveling notebook i got three days ago i'm a Fire Snake, i waqs born in 1977 if anyone's curious.

This seems to be my week for computer issues. Last night while I was getting my chair cardio by bashing ninjas in Wii Sports Resort (hey, even my slim, fit daughter got sweaty!) I heard my son exclaim and then drag most of the towels out of the linen closet. He'd spilled water on/in the vicinity of the power strip. All the computer things were powered off while it finished recovering overnight. Everything seems fine today, though.

Did your grandpa get out of the hospital yet, Eliza?

I had a looong description about the joy of Khan's last night, but before I could post it, my laptop went crazy because of a computer virus. Apparently it was from a trojan I picked up just from visiting AnimeNewsNetwork.com, which is a McAfee-trusted site. I was on that site when McAfee announced it had detected and blocked a trojan. However, about 15 minutes later my computer went nuts with very official-looking Windows virus warnings and scans. They were part of the virus.

My laptop is clean now, but I was up until 6 AM cleaning it, making sure it was clean, and cleaning the other computer on my network in case it was also affected (it wasn't). Today my internet connection was broken as a result of all the chaos, but my ISP provides a nice "Quick Care" feature that fixed it. Gee, I thought McAfee would protect me from everything!
emoticon
Anyway, Khan's is great, with many choices of meat, seafood, tofu, fresh veggies, noodles, and create-your-own sauce. Here in Minnesota, dinner is $10.50 for one plate or $13.50 for all-you-can-eat. YUM YUM!

Wow! What an exciting and scary week with and for your grandpa! I'm glad he's doing well. I hope he can get out of the hospital soon.

Lullaby is such a cutie! Is s/he a bunny or a lamb? I thought Lullaby was a lamb, but wasn't sure as I haven't seen plushie lambs before.

The family birthday party for my son was great! Everyone got stuffed at Khan's Mongolian Barbecue, which is an assemble-your-own-ingredients, stir-fried-in-front-of-you, asian buffet. (I don't know if Khan's is a chain restaurant or not.) Then we came back to my house for presents, cake, chatting during a Godzilla movie, and Wii play. My daughter beat me at Swordplay, but I gave her a good fight! I was proud of my creaky old reflexes holding their own against her young zippy reflexes.

here's what's been going on with me, my grandpa is taken to doctor's appointment on monday the 11th he's in there for an hour he walks out and tells us that his doctor wants us to take him to emergancy as his doctor couldn't get him a room immediately so we drive him over he's taken into ER immediately is there for at least three hours gets a room, he had something wrong with his heart(but he has a pacemaker already so he's fine)and they swab his nose for something and then wensday they tell us he tested positive for the nose swab thing and is now in a private room. He's doing really good but the nurses are pampering him way too much.

I live in Texas (west of the Fort Worth/Dallas area), so we usually don't get much snow here, but we've had some really weird weather this season. It snowed nonstop on Christmas Eve, and it actually stuck to the ground, so we ended up having a white Christmas.

That's extremely rare here--it's maybe happened twice that I can remember. I think we got over 6 inches, and my parents said that the last time they remembered it snowing like that was in the 1970s. It's got to be global warming, I'm telling you--the polar ice caps have shifted!

Here, they close the schools if we get even an inch of snow, or if there's ice on the ground...we're just not equipped to deal with it (and you just don't want to go out on those days at all if you can help it--the majority of Texas drivers DO NOT know how to drive in that kind of weather).

Oh, Patricia must have been so disappointed! emoticon But I'm glad you didn't have a ton of more snow to shovel.

And thanks for the well wishes for my ankle and knee!

Right now we're eating popcorn and watching the original Japanese "Godzilla Raids Again." Great fun!
