Hey there everyone - I just wanted to take an opportunity to share 2 amazing websites with you! I know that all of us have been impacted by the earthquake and subsequent disasters in Japan over the past few weeks. I found this fabulous site and wanted to share it with you. Its been created by Google and is completely independent - so there's not any solicitation for donations, just links provided if you want to help.
There are also resources for reporting missing people, updates on local transit, shelter and airline information, distribution centers, speech translators and up to date news on the area.
I know all of us are sending our happy thoughts and prayers to our friends oversees. Every day, I go to www.thehungersite.com and give by clicking on the button at the top of the page. Its completely FREE (no registration required) and the site receives donations based on the amount of clicks it receives from its sponsors. Currently their efforts are being focused on assisting those in Japan, but they have also helped with relief effort with the earthquake in Haiti, tsunami in Asia and other globally impacting events.
I know there's tons of places asking for monetary donations, but if all you can do is click (on the hunger site) then please do - by just clicking on this, you donate 1.1 cups of food, with almost ZERO effort on your part! You can also use the links at the top of the page and click to donate for Breast Cancer research, animal rescue, child literacy, etc. You are able to click once per day per computer, and every little bit helps! I sure know that if I were impacted by something like this, I'd like relief efforts to help me and my family out!!
Thanks everyone! Have a great day!
