Wow, this thread is super old.. If I were dreaming (or living the dream..) I would live in Osaka/ Hiroshima/ Kyoto,.. not sure where yet. I'd have concert tickets for every single jrock band (that I want to see),. I would be fluent in Japanese, own my own place and have cute little Japanese babies,. Ohh,. And I would be slim enough to pull off any cosplay costume:)
EX-WIMPIE. baha,. 'leave a trail of blood in the gym...' graphic,. made me laugh,.
And what an awesome dream! Well done!

Brilliant suggestion, Stevie! Actually, since this is the holiday season in the U.S., I was going to propose adding a new thread on "Japanese Holidays" in the General Forum, and about.com would be great place for information.
What do people think of the Japanese Holidays idea?

My excitement is someone lost turning around in the cul-de-sac...You have to go "Downtown" to get some excitement...watch the college kids...and go..I remember wearing those clothes in high school......Yesterday I did my good deed...the husky was jumping on and off the couch in front of my living room window..so I go and look..there at my front door is a young male dalmation...open door and he walks in..keep him all day..then took him for a walk about dusk..his owner drives by and stops, "You have my dog"..."Oh, thank you, etc, etc" made my day..I named him "Bailey" his real name is "Murdock"...he was such a sweet boy

That sounds like a really good workout while you're in recovery mode! (That would be a really good workout for me NOW, but my knee couldn't do it.) I hope nothing broke open and started bleeding. How does that wind work for you, that it pushes you along the whole way? When I did a lot of biking, the wind helped one way and was a curse going the other way!

Yes, going to dentists and specialists certainly stimulates THEIR economy, but doesn't help OUR economy!
*sigh* Didn't win any money on Wednesday's Powerball lottery either.
On the bright side, I lost 3 lbs this week! Another 4 lbs to go to relose the weight I regained from layoff emotions + convention chaos.

It was a low blow from the Tooth Fairy. I'd actually been working on my flossing, managing every other day--a significant improvement from zero. I'd had a flouride treatment at my last checkup 9 months ago. I expected to be showered with roses, not $$$ new dental work! Ignorance might have been bliss...

Your success with forbidden foods (and exercise) is why you weigh what you weigh and I weigh what I weigh. Awesome job!
I could say why that approach won't work well for me, but it's really all excuses. It boils down to "I Don't Want To."

Don't give up on your dreams....I even slip daytime dreaming into my day once and awhile....
On forbidden foods..if I crave something in the freezer or frig...I take one bite and quickly throw away the rest...garbage disposal work great...I tell myself...I ate the forbidden fruit and now it is gone...and I brush my teeth right away to take the taste away from my memory

That's great news, RIORIOGIRL!!
I'm not having any success on my dream work the last couple nights. This is typical for me and why I get frustrated and set my dream project aside for a while. *sigh*
I was thinking about someone I read about who used lucid dreaming to lose weight. Her technique was to go lucid in dreams and then dream she was eating all the goodies she was avoiding in her waking life. She claimed that she could resist temptation because she knew she'd be able to eat it that night in her dreams.
If that was working, she must have been WAY more consistent at becoming lucid than I am. I wonder if she had trouble later because those dreams reinforced the desirability of "forbidden foods."

Those are great dreams!
I had good times being a mom too, but I've always ended up liking whatever age they are at the moment the best. Lack of imagination on my part, maybe. My mom used to say she like us best from ages 2-12, and my dad used to comment "12? That's just when the kids started to get interesting!"

Yeah, we need an emoticon for eye candy! I think you should start telling yourself every night when you go to bed, "Tonight I will dream about Toshiro Mifune dressed in his Hidden fortress attire." (You might want to throw in some suggestion about romance so that you don't end up in a dreamtime war zone.) It will be so fun when it works!

Thanks, RIORIOGIRL! I've been having an especially tough time staying on track since (1) I saw that losing 32 pounds has made NO difference when I cosplayed in July, and (2) I was laid off. I haven't given up though.
mmmm... handsome samurai in kimono... Imaginary samurai is even better! My anime harem is wonderful. They always say and do just the right things, go away when I want them gone, and never comment on how fat & old I am.
Off and on I've experimented with lucid dreaming--I'm not very good at it--but I was working on changing my dreams "mid-flight." Someone suggested starting with something fun first, so I made my dream goal to have mad sex with my favorite (at the time) anime character, Miroku. Finally, one night I: (1) realized I was dreaming (without waking up in the process), (2) called Miroku into the dream, and (3) announced to the dream that Miroku was madly in love with me.
Well, Miroku looked at me nervously and said, "I think I'm gay." ?!?!? Not even in my dreams? Then I thought, "Wait a minute! This is MY dream!" So I grabbed Miroku by the hand and dragged him into a shed, saying, "Let's find out, shall we?" Sometime later Miroku came out of the shed and yelled, "I'm not gay!" Best dream in my life! But the next time I have success with a dream, I need to add that I'M young and gorgeous. A little tale just for fun...

Ah... Along with winning the lottery and vacationing in Japan, I'd love to get down to 130-150 (I'm 5'8") and look young and fabulous. Alas, I have so much weight to lose and I'm so much older than 21, I doubt that I'll ever have the classy chassie of my dreams.
