Our TOPS club is having a holiday contest which has been helpful on keeping me on track. Of course I have not done any Christmas baking yet which could be tempting. I usually bake and bring a box of cookies to several of my neighbors. It gets it out of my system and out of my house! Those cookies call to me when they are in my kitchen.

Well I am finally back on here. I have been concentrating on other things for a while. I now have to lose all the weight I originally had on me plus 10 pounds. I have been sick with a respiratory ailment that is still preventing exercise for the time being. I will be able to start in a couple of weeks and I can't wait!! I am sad that I have gained the weight, but I am here to take it off for good this time I hope. Any advice for an "apple" shape would be great... Thanks and good luck to all.

wow hello
been super busy and thanksgiving athough no diner stil have company coming that ollowing sat. took a break from tops we have alot of new people so meetings r not as informtive because of there rules and weigh ins and extra programs. Found some to be more interested in the charms had out some have 300 or more? for me to get one was not easy plus braceet for charms a 6 weeks and did not get that either???

sorry you were sick.
I spent two whole days in he car and by 4p.m. night was ready to just crash into a semi. I am doing k. went off my strict diet for 2 days maybe tomorrow too but sunday back to eating crap. I thik my goal or next one will be 139.
I am 12 pounds away and hope to be that number by christmas

I feel like I've been gone for a month, though it's only a week since I posted anything. I have been ill this week - youngest grandson brought a stomach bug home from school and shared with EVERYONE! His siblings were sick 24 hours and bounced back fine. I was sick for 36 hours and still not fully recovered. Today is the fiorst day I've eaten regular meals - I've been subsisting on scrambled eggs and crackers. I'm hoping I'll be back to my old self by Monday. I've discovered that the older you are the harder it is to bounce back from these things. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I occasionally drink green tea, but I don't find it as satisfying as coffee. I don't like dark chocolate either! I guess I do best when I eat foods that I enjoy but take smaller portions. I do try to watch the sugar and fat content of foods and get more fruits and vegetables in my diet.

we had horrible wind and fluriies. I keep asking myself as I work on a me week 5 days at YMCA 4 so far so think I will make it. eating little to nothing yes don't ask and exercising myself t death and why I guess. at age 67 I am so tired of this merry-go-round. Yes I do enjoy m weight right now 154 and just about all my clothes fit. I do know that if I let my guard down it will come back in just a few days. I think I will mybe take 3 days thurs, fri and sat and eat more then I am rght now. My goal I really don't know maybe 139 more or less. I see so many people that eat everthing and do not even think about restricting themselves and maybe they have the right idea. Live and have fun I hate what I am doing and eatng. Some days I think one more cup of green tea or apple and I will scream. Ok I feel better sorry for my whineing .

We have snow on the ground and freezing temperatures at night so I won't be doing much walking outdoors. I dusted off the Wii and started doing Walk It Out again although I have been having bursitis in one hip so I am only able to do 30 minutes at a time which is probably a bit more than I should do. I got in over 5000 steps in that time though.

well hello
been so busy no on line activities.
son stayed for 5 days so cooking and the garage sale.
tues a 5 K at night we were both so tired. I did 49 and he did 33
Garagewas ok not great but did make some money
Now yesterday near 80 degrees today wind chill possible snow next week. Cleaned up both burn sites loaded all wood and stumps and managed to stay awake for all of this. I am in pain terriby so resting today
Next week need to Y everyday
gained 2 pounds so wanting hose 2 gone and 3 more???

I am paying for all that yardwork I did in the form of poison ivy. I looked at what I was pulling up and had a poassing thought it sorta looked like poison ivy. Should have paid more attention. Oh well. I'll be more careful and aware next time.

I did my morning walk and then spent 2 hours working in the yard. I trimmed bushes, pulled weeds and sawes limbs. My shoulders and arms are going to ache tomorrow, but I accomplished a lot and things look neater. I still have more to do but don't want to spend my entire day off working. LOL Besides I have errands to runa and my Bible study questions to answer. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Trying to get back on track with my walking. It's easy to fall off the wagon but hard to get back on. It's a little harder to get out there in the mornings since it's so dark now. When the alarm goes off I just want to go back to sleep for another 30 minutes. I need to MAKE myself get up and get out there. I feel so much better all day when I've walked.

miserable night now off for the day. cannot wait until tomorrows weigh in my scale says 157 and would love that tomorrow but.
These last 4 days so tuff and tonight will be a nightmare. thinking about 2 apples water and cinnamon and sugar twin for a nightcap. I think that will help. Back to 1200 calories more or less tomorrow then we will see. definitely don't want to gain what a tortured myself to loose.

I tired nutri systems hated the dinners alos so not going there. Well my plan to drop donut pounds are working but am so aggitated and hungry all I do is twitch. Trying my dardest to hold out until thurs so wish me luck .brought lunch to nursing home a big bowl of spinach with just a drizzel from a spray bottle of dressing. so bad but ate it. downed 2 cups of green tea 2 more to go. turkey and an apple this afternoon. Tonight mixed vegies and a hmburger and another apple. can Imake it tomorrow. I will be in car most of the day may stop at library and pick up something to read. Not sure went to y yesterday and tomorrow probably treadmill tonight.

So far, so good today with the calories. I went to Curves this morning and I just got in from using the leaf blower to get some of the leaves off the patio and driveway. I got one rose bush mulched and took two loads down to the blueberry plants to get them covered as well as I can for the winter since they need to be covered or the fruit buds will die during the winter. If I can get some leaves around them I don't need quite as much snow to protect them.
I had coffee with a group of Curves friends. The hostess had baked and I did have a slice of pound cake but was able to resist the apple cake she made. I bought an order of Nutrisystem a few weeks back and I am trying to use that to keep my portions in control. Now that I can see the portions there are a number of things I can easily replicate in order to keep the costs down and not have to buy any more. I don't care much for the dinners, but the breakfasts and lunches would be easy to substitute other items and make a dinner that both Jerry and I could eat together.

dropped calories t 500 n, monues and wed. It could get ugly at my house. I did loose the 3 pounds but still packed one half ich on all points of my body. Deperate for 159 on turs. will I make it. gearing up for garage sale and stressed enough to want to eat anything and everything. I keep asking myself how I get into theses situations and of course no replay will let you know how my days go right now I am in a ugly mood

well 2000 calories yesterday and 3 pounds today but for a good cause. 5 K for breast cancer and a donut 5 k. Lets see was not going to eat donuts but then thought 2 min shaved off end time so ate 2 then on the way back 2 more which meant 8 min off 46 original time 38 and first place. If my son had ate 1 more donut he would have been 3rd place I certainly teased him alot.
Now can I will I loose that. Have a plan not a good one so I will let you know at weigh in thurs.

Yes, I certainly do have days like that! Jerry brought home a box of powdered sugar mini donuts a few days ago and it was a struggle for me not to take even one. I used to buy a bag of them and eat most of them in the car on the way home!! I have concluded that I can't keep chips, crackers or nuts in the house and have to limit ice cream products to preportioned servings since I would keep going back to a bucket of ice cream until it was gone. I doubt I will ever learn to handle those things in a sane and sensible way so it is best to avoid them unless I am away from home and not free to keep eating. Even after doing those things I still find ways to eat until I am uncomfortable at times.

last night I was close to ending the tops program eating a box of donuts and a whole bag of cookies I bought for my son and then down it with a big chcolate shake. I have not a clue why I do this but thank goodness I stopped. I want this weight off and depriving myself, exercising and just being on alert for eveything I put in my mouth is frustrating. Then I thought my sistrs wedding anniversary last monday would have been 53 years and I do so miss her. She was my rock, my support in this mad world even thought she was so sick made me think. giving up is easy eating bad makes e feel good for a second. Do you have days like that

My cat came home and was quite put out that she had to spend the night and half the day outdoors! I think she blamed me for it although she is the sneaky one who slipped out with the dogs! She is no worse for wear though and back to her old imperious self!
I did get to Curves this morning but had a banquet this evening. The food there worked out but I had some mid afternoon grazing issues which is my biggest problem time.

I have been looking for one my cats who seems to have disappeared. She must have sneaked out last night when I was letting the dogs in or out. I have checked everywhere in the house including in the freezers! She likes to go outside for a few minutes but never wants to stay outdoors. I will walk down to the mailbox again in a bit to see if I can see any sign of her.

families, facebook and what next. I had issue on facebook with my neices son and daughter
. I was not the only one and now my poor neice is trying to defend the posts and I fee bad for her. I told her son and daughter when yu post opinions everyone can read it and react. telling all you dont beleive in god, post cartoons about 9-11 and devtions to hitler is not a good thing. Beleive what u want but remember you might be ofending relatives who will think the woorst. teens express themselves now adays and they have a right but. anyhow I am ok nd trying to support my neice but it is difficult. Now she think she is a bad mother. kids do what they want. does this make any sence going out or treadmill want the road but cold in ohio.

yes yard work for me 45 min pushing the hand mower and te guard fell off so the tall grass covered me everywhere when I pushd it. Now tonight 30 min treadmill wanted more but so much in pain my right leg. Heading to get pain pills and sit for awhile. Thinking I should do 120 min of exercise a day until next weigh in. Not sure I can but lets see how it goes.

we r ow neck and nck with weight. I gained half a pound and was so disappointed. I am thinking from not exercising so this week stepping it upleg pain or no leg pain. winter storm where do u live. today gorgeous in Ohio our last good day.

I got my garden tilled which took me about 2 hours. The forecast predicts a "winter storm warning" with snow this weekend so I wanted to get it put to bed before then. I had a really productive garden this year and have a lot frozen and canned for the winter.

My exercise of choice is walking, I try to walk every morning, but sometimes I slack off. Weekdays I meet my daughter and grandkids at their corner and walk them to school, then walk an additional mile. Weekends I'm on my own, but I really don't mind. I actually walk faster when I'm alone. I find that walking first thing in the morning clears my mind and energizes me for the day ahead.

For me, exercise is necessary or I don't lose any weight. I have had bursitis in my hip for over a month and it is slowing me down. At least I can go to Curves which doesn't seem to aggravate it. It is so easy to make it flare up again!

I have big porblems rght leg. I am thinking the ladder for a month of painting has done something to my leg. after the Y yesterday doing 35 min I could harldy walk and stopped walmart 500 mg of pain pills. Did paint today but not using ladder just reaching what could. The kitchen looks great and next I am thinking swag alance would look great. we have woodene blinds but did away with curtains. I think I lost a pound. ok two scales now and each says different. Thurs morning weigh in and this will be 21 days wich is a record for me. bought ornages and chicken lunchmeat. trying to stick to orange breakfast protein shake

I am still having some back problems but I was able to dig my potatoes yesterday and get them into the house. I got about half a bushel which should last for a while. I wish I had a better place to store them but I did cut back on the amount I planted this year. I stopped to rest and use my shiatsu massage cushion half way through which helps a lot.

yes but you had fun and that is hard to come by. I spent the weekend painting. Hope to finish kitchen woodwork this week. I decorated the shelf above kitchen cabinets and I must say it looks great. added touch to our new room I have two scale sand each one is different. I ate healthy but no movement in scale so this week stricter eating. I ate so much brocolie I think I turned green. Did manage treadmill for 3 days not alot but happy with alittle.

Yesterday was a challenge sticking with healthy eating. Breakfast was a muffin at Perkins, Lunch was at the dinner theater in Chanhassen, Chicken breast with a wild rice stuffing, vegetables and ciabatta bread. Dinner was a bowl of soup, a whole wheat roll and a cracker. I also bought a slice of Carrot Cake for Two at the dinner theater but took all but a few bites home to share with my husband. We left at 5:45 AM and got home at midnight. The exercise was hard to come by but I was able to walk around at the arboretum for an hour.

well I cut grass fr 2 hours. Painted most of the day so gave up thetreadmill. Hope tomorrow treadmill or out running then more painting. It really looks good and the color is so different. Woodwork white like my mother so this color a brown. walls a soft orange. Next green walls for dinning room not sure what color for woodwork??

I have been struggling with my appetite all month! I hurt my back lifting pumpkins so exercise has not been easy this last week but I am feeling better so I will try to get outside and do a little gardening today. I still have most of the potatoes left to dig up and my little great grandsons will be coming over this afternoon and they enjoy helping. It is a lot easier if I don't have to bend over to pick up the potatoes. We are going out for dinner and to a show this evening and in the morning I am getting on a bus for a trip to Minneapolis/St Paul area to see Xanadu at a dinner theater and then a trip to the arboretum and back home which means eating out all day! I hope I can find some good options.

We are having a beautiful autumn day. Friends took me to lunch to celebrate my 70th birthday. I ate half of a half sandwich and a bowl of soup so it was fine. I took home the rest of my sandwich to enjoy tomorrow.
I pulled a muscle in my back wrestling my 22 Jack O Lantern pumpkins out of my garden but still manage to get in a few circuits at Curves. Walking is more difficult since I tend to list to one side. I am improving but it is slow and I don't want to aggravate it any more than I have to.

wow the dreadd snow.W had a horrible storm and lots of damage. our 3rd tree of theyear and this one landedin neighbrs corn field again. We are so disgusted. It will take 2 weeks to clean up and today I could just throw up from the damage.

I am going out for dinner tonight which is always a challenge. I will probably order broiled fish, a vegetable and a salad which fills me up but is not so bad calorie wise. I will keep busy today getting some plants in from outside since it is supposed to snow tonight.

yes tops is great. now with 5 pounds down I am stryggling to keep it off. Have to eat out tomorrow but will make healthy choices. It is getting easier and I have bought healthy snacks. so far so good but this is only week 2

ood afternoon. Well I started t.o.p.s last thurs. 1200 calories for a week down almost 5 pounds. Meet once a week. 26.00 for the year. Great group of women and they have great ideas. This maes me spend a year at this. Just a week was tuff don't get me wrong but I have never stayed a whole week at anything. I can eat most things just limit and not any sweets. Bread rye, red potaoes, meat fruit vegies and alot more. I do think this might work. doing 60 min of exercise a day or more.

I broke my morning walk into two parts today and found that I walked farther and felt way better than when I do it all at once. The scale is also moving in the right direction again so I am really excited. I have today off so need to watch myself and not snack endlessly and ruin the great start I have.

workedvery hard today. Congrats to hubby and myself. Bad news dumpster full so our trhow away thurs will be tearing apart wooden feed storage units and sheep pens ect toss on a fire.
Today moved storage units from rooms to other rooms organized what to put in it. Thusgiving us cabinet space and taking appliances off counters. dust was horrid but it looks so nice and organized for a change. Have colors picked out for dinning room walls, bedrooms walls and woodwork. rain most of weekend. decided stay off scale until next week hard but have too I get to depressed.

back from our ne day mini trip it was good to get away from all the mess. I am still low carb but realize I am eating too many calories. I do wish I could find a program that does work and stick with it. today rain so not sure what my plan is staying in bed would be a great option but will get moving anyhow.

I just got back from a long walk. I have been backsliding on exercise lately and made a goal of at least a 30 minute walk first thing this morning. I actually walked for about an hour enjoying the cooler temperatures of the morning. My grandson will be coming to help cut down a huge old birch tree behind the house so I will be picking up branches and moving firewood to the woodshed. The birches around the house are at the end of their life span so we need to get them down before they fall on our power line or the house itself.

Loving the rain and cooler temps it has brought. NOT loving the fact that I seem to have a leak in the roof. It's always something. I'm not sure I'll ever get ahead.

down a pound and carbs yesterday 20!! today so far 6 but thats breakfast. Leaving at 1 for an overnight and hope relax and fun at almost 67 fun does not happen very often. Thurs spent 2 hours tossing junk. It makes us feel so good and as we look at the past month we have made such a big difference when we look at our poor old barn. I alwys expect a critter or two to come jumpting out but so far none.
we will get rain also 3 days so not sure what our plans will be for activities. the top of list plaster the wall in kitchen sounds like a good plan. Wishing all a fab weekend.

Woke up to rain this morning, courtesy of Isaac. It makes me so happy - we desperately need the rain. The weather forecast is for rain off and on all day today and tomorrow. Won't be enough to officially end the drought, but we'll take every drop we can get!

Sometimes the scale does not cooperate in spite of healthy eating and exercise. Salt is often the problem but who knows! We just have to hang in there and keep trying.

good morning. After careful planning of menu and 93 min on treadmill and not sitting much last night. I gained a pound. I really didn't want to get on scale and I will tomorrow but then not until tues. We are going over night to a motel well maybe have the reservation but hubby does not know yet if he is off. Using the pool hot tub and just plain mental slow down. Getting away for just 27 hours( that is how long our dog can hole his pee) is exciting. Not sure what we will eat but try and stay healthy. Maybe use exercise machines too would be great. emoticon

Well, I didn't get as much done yesterday as I'd planned or wanted. I forgot I'd told DD I'd take her to her eye doctor's appointment. Her appointment was at 12:30 and we didn't get out of there until after 3:00, then had to run by the store, take my youngest granddaughter to get new ballet and tap shoes, and get her to dance class. So I left the house at 11:45 and returned home at 6:00. How time flies when you're having fun! LOL

It's back to work today. Hope all of you have a good day.

I spent most of the day outdoors. This morning I had a few dozen plants that needed to be put into my rock wall before they dried out. In the afternoon I helped lead tours at the experimental station near here. It was about 90 degrees and humid and I started getting a little queasy. I should sleep well tonight since I am exhausted!

tuff day in car again. Did manage 93 min on home treadmill. Dr apt then lunch with an old friend, home cut grass.
Tomorrow menu I finally got cars below 20. It is not easy and eating meat and cheese well lets say boo. I will try.Except for sitting in car I don't sit at home.

Don't think that just because I'm at work I'm not tempted to eat. We walk down to the food court to get water and the only thing that saves me (most of the time) is I don't take any money with me. LOL There are temptations galore, I just try to block them out.

I do take my lunch from home and try to include a little treat so I won't be so tempted. I use the little packages of fruit snacks as a treat. It's just sweet enough to satisfy me and only 70 calories per package. I stick one in my pocket and eat it mid afternoon as a little pick-me-up.

I have the same problem you do Gail. I walk in the morning and am on my feet most of the day at work. After I eat dinner if I make the mistake of sitting down I wake up two or three hours latere and drag myself off to bed. You're right though; it does keep me away from the refrigerator!

Have a great day everyone. This is my day off so I have lots to do.

I am adding some B12 tablets to my morning supplements. It is supposed to help with energy levels. Frankly, I am developing some bad habits with too much time on the computer and not enough up and moving. I did spend 3 hours helping weed a rain garden at the local U of Mn research center, then came home and fell asleep in a chair! At least I was away from the refrigerator for that time and my calorie intake was fairly good. It helps that I have a big garden full of fresh vegetables.

well today a me day 90 min at Y then tonight 60 more min on home treadmill. I was so tempted to eat something bad I am in one of my moods. Get on scale see no movement yesterday a pound but I am so being good at portion, no sugar ect. At least while you are a t work you are not tempted with food. I tried 5 hour energy this morning before Y but I didn't see me swing from a rope at the Y so probably does not work.

If I had a magic pill I'd be independently wealthy and wouldn't have to work!

I work as an optician in an optical store in our local mall. I enjoy it and have learned a LOT. I am supposed to be a part timer, but lately have been working 36 - 40 hour weeks. It's good for the paycheck, but doesn't leave me a lot of time to do anything else.

where dp you work. I am retired but need a job. Too much drama with hubbys aunt right now to even think about getting one. mowing grass which I hate but needs to be done. Hubby worked last night now nappin then a funeral then church picnic. I don't have to go with him to viewing someone he worked with many years ago focus on laundry, grass and trim. I am looking and watchin my carbs starting today. Nothin is working for me right now. If I could just jump start some definite weight loss do u have a magic pill?

I had the day off today and worked harder than I ever do at work! I went to my daughter's house and boxed up most of my sewing and craft stuiff that was still over there and moved it all to my workshop. Then went back and loaded up my sewing cabinet and sewing machines and moved them to my house. I'm happ0y to have my stuff here, but now I have to rearrange things and get everything UNpacked. I really ache tonight, but it was worth it. Hope I survive at work tomorrow!!

Ohio here. I agree on wallpaper but for some reason it fell in sheets much to our delight. Last night started in shed then went to the barn (which is falling down) to throw trash out. We were so tired and I had so much pain from twisting andd turning. At 4p.m. supper then back outside. So much to do before the first snow flake. Tomorrow church picnic made a wow salad and brownies. Bought a roasted chicken from krogers noodles for hubby me a big salad with awsome lettuce reduced and maybe blueberry muffins?? My eating habits this week have been horrid. Not eating much but a bowl of fair popcorn and smoothie strawberrie. Weahter is good so I am happy 65 min at Y so another star for me 2 days this week. Have a super weekend.

Thank goodness I don't have wallpaper except for one wall in the bathroom. I had to strip my parents' bathroom and scrape the glue off the walls so I could paint and decide that was more work than I want to do again!! It is a good upper body workout but not all that much fun.
Since summer is coming to a close very soon in northern Minnesota, I have been doing as much work outdoors as I can. Today I cleared out an overgrown patch of woods behind my house. Using a lopping shears and hauling branches gave me a good workout plus I went to Curves later on.

I hate painting and when are kitchen ceiling fell tiles last year we were so depressed and wondered how we can repair ceiling then take wall paper off for the walls to be painted. after alot of struggling with hubby and son both had seperate ideas we decided to put up a board on the ceiling then mud it and paint it then swirl with a rose brush. Turned out great and while we were doing that the wall paper fell off in big sheets??? The color now on walls a medium orange slice, thinking about a dark brown for woodwork. I have always had white tired of it and it gets dirty. It took me forever to get on the ladder and just do it. I did I am glad and decided once kithcen is done dinning room and bedroom. today weeding garden brocolie and peppers for supper. Then at 3:30 hubby and I will do our annual thursday throw stuff in trash a must have to and don't even think about saving something we have had for 48 years. well enough of me just think what a coat of paint will do for looks and for your mood for me alot. emoticon

I have not painted anything for years. My kitchen will need to be done soon but I have a stenciled border which I really like and I have put off painting since I can't find stencil paint any more. I like the colors in all my rooms so would pick something similar again. What is stopping me is having to climb a ladder and try to see above my head through bifocals! I can't see well enough through the upper part of my lenses to see details.

wow pumpkins. I wanted to plant them but no rain decided against. did plant brocollie, peppers, onions and watermellons.
Painted for almost 2 says and I am really proud of myself. started redoing kitchen almost a year ago and want it done by thanksgiving. Trging to decided woodwork color. Really want maybe a dr brown then no finger prints. Then mayb redo cabinets?? Today in car so not much exercise today. taking lunch to aunt in nursing home darke county fair to register for prizes for donating blood this year then soccer game granddaughter. I got in a session at Curves today and did a little work around my garden. I made a bowl full of fresh salsa from onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, parsley and garlic chives from my garden. I dice them up and add a dash of salt, a little red wine vinegar and a little canola oil. I have lots of jalapenos in my garden but I am not getting enough tomatoes to can so I will enjoy what I have making salsa until I get enough to can for winter use.
I put some boards under my pumpkins but ran out when I got to eleven of them. These are Jack O Lantern pumpkins and I have Sugar Pie planted in the corn on the other side of the garden. I will give the big pumpkins to my grandkids and neighbors.
