EVERY DAY? My advice is to start out a little slower. The more gung ho you go, the easier it is to peter out in the end. When I went back, I started at 2 days a week, built up my strength for a month or so then added a day, went for a few months for 3 days and now I am up to 4 and 5 days on alternating weeks, hoping to get it up to a 5 day standard by the end of the year.

first of all thanks to all of u here.. we can do this.. i also feel bad that i'm not giving my body what it is worth.. i have abused it so far..till now,it has stopped.. i will go to gym daily no matter what.. here i go.. i'm accountable, no excuse this is my life and i'm in the driver seat.. i can go wherever i want.. i have this determination i'm back with a bang...

I've just started back at the gym. I don't like going by myself, though, as I feel out of place. I only go when I can get one of my teens to go with me. I wish I could find others to go with me. My membership allows me to bring a friend every time I come here so that's not a problem.

Hello. I agree that the gym helps. I have tried numerous times to loose weight and failed each time. This time I joined the gym and hired a trainer. I am down 19 lbs. but because I am older (65 gasp !!) I wanted to get my strength back. I am so happy I did. I go to the gym to do one thing and one thing only --- move this body. I agree with you. The gym motivates me too. Congrats on your weight loss. Keep up the great work.
Hello everyone. I've belonged to gyms for years. I was hardly going for the past 3 years because I was working full and part time jobs. I gave up the part time job in June. I was hesitant to go back to the gym because I had gained weight but then I thought that a gym was where I should be if I wanted to lose the weight. I'm so glad I went back! I do Zumba, kickboxing and a dancey aerobics class. I've lost 20 pounds since I started back. It's also nice to get out of the house. I've got tons of workout DVD's but the gym motivates me more.
