Ali - emoticon Congrats on your weight loss. Keep it up. I am now 309 down from 325, but it is a daily struggle. My goal right now is to break the 300 lb mark. Going for Chinese tonight, so I will not get on the scale for at least 48 hours, that is how long it takes the sodium to leave the body. Keeping it at 1200mg a day is almost impossible, but I know if I put my mind to it I can accomplish it. Ages 50-70 it is 1500Mg a day and then after 70 it drops down to 1200mg. When I stuck to it, in one week I lost 7 lbs. This Chinese food is goinna kill me. LOL I checked the restaurant online and the least item was 3200mg of sodium. Oh, well Bev

Hey y'all just checking in.

I'm new to the class, lol, but not new to being plus size and trying to get through life with a positive attitude and mean it.

I've been gone now for a couple of years, sliding in and out of the "class room" here on Spark but I have finally made up my mind that I'm worthy of a healthy life so here I am.

My highest weight, and I'm no proud of it, was 545 lbs. I dropped down now to 338 lbs so I'm down 207 lbs so far.

I'm working hard towards weighing in at 232 lbs. I chose this weight because the last time I was this size I was 20 yrs old and I'm now 53. And I looked slammin back then.

Okay I'm gonna get going now. Tomorrow I'll be starting my stability ball workouts, I can no longer do normal workouts because of my bone and muscle diseases. So I found stability ball workouts here on Spark and tomorrow the ball and I are gonna get to know one another.

I cheated and used my Lane Bryant credit card and ordered some workout clothes last week. They had a new line and buy 1 get 1 for $15. Since I know my sizing there right now I went that route. A bit more spendy...but sometimes worth it. I will be in the size I ordered a for a bit now, so I will get my money's worth. Not to say I am not going to be losing more weight..but the 22/24 should fit me for a while.

I was bad and didn't get on the exercise bike this weekend. I definitely caught up on my sleep, which helped keep me from over eating and snacking. But glad to be back in the routine of work. Helps keep me in motion

I just got a catalogue from Blair.com and I bought 3 Fleece Sweat Shirts and they are awesome. The fit is perfect.

My aunt used to sew for a manufacturer and the same clothes would have different labels. If there was a mis-stitch or something wrong with the garment, it was shipped to Wal-Mart. And a size 16 dress going to an upscale Store like Macys or Nordstroms would have a 12 size label. My aunt always told me to go by the fit and not the size because you don't wear the size on the outside.

Happy! I love shopping...lol. Just used my Lane Bryant cc to order me some new workout clothes! I have always bought the cheap stuff at Walmart, but I thought I deserve a treat and I will be able to wear this size for the whole summer. I just hit size 24 (26 on some items). I have spring fever so bad!

Don't remember if I checked in here today or not. But last night I did 13 min on the recumbent bike @ 17mph pace and then I used the Apline Tracker for 5 min (that thing was giving me a heart attack!). I slept well and woke up early, so I hit the bike again this morning. I am hoping to make that a routine where I do it in the evenings and mornings. Its a blood pumping workout that keeps my heart rate up but with no impact to my knees or feet.

I am just hoping to get down below 300, was there twice and then creeped back up. The holidays and whatever. But I did it before and I know I can do it again.

as for wearing a bathing suit at the gym pool. Just go for it. No one really cares. I have that same problem. Doctored recommended walking in pool for 15 min, which is 30 min out of the pool. I have a bathing suit, and haven't even attempted to try it on. But I know I have do do it. I have seen some ladies were shorts and tank top, so whatever you wear just go for it. I need to take my own advice LOL Bev

I was talking to a few people that have joined a aqua fit class and they love it! I have physical therapy and they have me using the heated pool and gave me exercises to do in it, wow, when you're in the water it doesn't feel like you are doing much, but you can feel it later, lol. My physical therapist said it is a great form of exercise.

Sounds like you had a great day! I love walking outdoors when I can. I did 30 minutes of strength training yesterday.

I do mostly body weight strength training right now. I have a 3 pound dumbbell set that I use sometimes, too. Actual weight training is in my future, but not too near future.

Yesterday I did 2 exercise videos (step and tai chi) and today I am going to my pilates class at the Y at 11:00. Pilates is hard for someone my size, but it definitely works. (Don't mind me here in the back, lol.)

i am fighting a cold so it makes exercise harder. i have been sticking with low impact stuff. but i am still tired a lot so it makes it harder to get in a good routine. i have been doing a lot less then i care too.

Exercise on today's agenda includes my 2 15 minute walk breaks at work and at lunch I walk to and from my tai chi class (half mile each way).

Yesterday, I did yoga at lunch, walk to and from (quarter mile each way) and swam laps for half an hour after work.

I am consistant with my exercise, i just want to increase my intensity, do more strength and more flexibility/balance work. ok so i do have a lot oe fitness foals. i just need to focus more and spend less time on my butt. i have not been losing but i have been overeating so if i work on getting that under more control.

Good afternoon!

I am trying to catch up on things like house cleaning and things here on Spark.
I have been spending to much time online and most of those hours is here on Spark. I spend hours a day on here reading and things. So to organize my time better and so I can be better for myself and my friends on Spark I am going to just pop in every day to say Hello and huddle with the team and then everyday I will spend a bit more time with one group a day so I am not over whelming myself!

I am also trying to get back into a good routine that works for me.

I get to babysit my nephew tonight so i am excited about that!

Good after noon!

I am finally allowed to resume regular work outs but only for ten minutes day for the first week or two. The doctor wants me to go back into things nice and slow. I am ok with that. So I will do lighter things like wall push ups and arm videos and then cardio type stuff for ten like walking videos,for awhile.

emoticon Good Morning/Afternoon. it's 10:45am here in Killeen, Texas. I just woke up a little while ago. I went to the doctors yesterday evening and was told some news that i really wasn't happy about getting. But i guess i have to do it. Or i'll just get bigger and Sicker. I'm not a outgoing person. But now i have been told i need to out of the house 3 times a week to socialize with ppl and get new friends. I have live in Texas for 2 years and have no friends..the doctor wants me to do Physical Therapy and See a Gi Doctor and get a Heart Check Up.. I'm 45 years Old and i have all theses health issues... I guess it take a toll on you when you can't take care of yourself try to check in daily, but its hard when you have so many thing to do when you wake up...

Good Morning, or what's left of it. Hope you're having a good day.
I just called to pre-register Bob for blood work in the morning for 2 doctor's. Luckily it only takes one needle to do it all as he's needle phobic. Hoping the lab work doesn't show he's having new issues. I'm afraid his sugar could be up. He's a borderline diabetic and take Metformin for that, but they may want to increase his dosage if it's an issue and he won't be happy with that. But we'll see what the lab work shows.

Today I did a good treadmill workout and saw some progress and am very happy about it.Then I got hurt and have a doctor appointment for tomorrow! Hey I am still happy though!

I am also new to this group as well as new to SparkPeople. My challenge to exercise is a cardiac problem. I found seated exercise videos on the site and I am going to try that. I prefer morning exercising and I have a lot of weight to lose so any tips to stay motivated are appreciated.

I gained weight and it all goes around my torso so i have been struggling more to do intense moves, but i am not using my size as an excuse to not do anything.

I'm new here. I'm really nervous about EVER attaining the exercise goal. I'm a couch potato, seriously. I guess you have to start somewhere though...and I hope you will still have me even if I don't make it for awhile. Hubby & I are planning on starting 1/1/14.

It was only 1.5 hours walk yesterday. Today I will walk but I'm not sure how far.

I did a half hour walk Christmas eve, 1 hour 45 minutes yesterday, and hope to do another 1 hour 45 today.

No exercise at all yesterday. Rained cats and dogs all day long. Could have done my callanetics dvd but didn't... a little bit of resistance going on there. I expect once I've done it a coupla times I'll start looking forward to it though!
