Happy New Year all and to a healthy fit year ahead. 45 minutes in the pool with a lane to myself, led to a great workout. Kept my heartrate up and steady.
Heard on the news today that the average person last less than 6 weeks when joining a gym in Jan. I've so glad I planned and started my road to good health, and weight in Oct. I'm there and for now, over the hump. Keeping active everyday.
Keep on trucking.

Walked during commercials yesterday and got in 42 minutes of exercise. Today I was busy making gingersnap cookies for DH and it took me all day. By the time I was finished and had my lunch it was late and I did not feel like doing any exercise, so I took a nap. When I got up the guilt monster showed me his ugly head and I made myself get on the treadmill for 15 minutes. It was not the amount I wanted, btu at least it was something and I did not skip working on my goals for 2013. I do feel better doing some exercise. Glad I got to it and did some. emoticon

Got to the gym this morning and did a 5k on the treadmill. I'm slow, but I did it!

Now need to clean house for people to come over tonight. And do some cooking. I'm still SO tired.

Exhausted and braindead today, but I still got in 35 minutes on the ski machine.

Got in 45 minutes of walking yesterday. I feel much better physically and mentally when I exercise. It really does boost my self-esteem.

Skipped exercise Thursday and was going to skip yesterday as well. I was really bad with snacking and finally talked myself into doing something good for myself instead of eating. I got on the treadmill late yesterday, around 8 p.m. and walked for 30 minutes which was better than skipping.

Not much in exercise these past 2 days just walking. I did indulge with some champagne yesterday. I wanted carbs today, had a few potato chips, then some rice crackers. They didn't do the job so I had some dried fruit hit the spot. Lunch out at my favorite spot. I had the sandwich with the bread on the side. After logging in the calories tonight, I realized that I made good choices and had what I wanted. Counting the calories and the portion control has really hit home for me. I wanted the # 9 and enjoyed it and don't feel guilty

Catladyx8 you did fine by the sounds. A treat is nothing to deny. Keep it up

Didn't skip my exercise on Christmas. I walked for 60 minutes on the treadmill. Today I walked 40 minutes at Walmart. I did manage to stay within my usual meal plan and did not splurge on anything. I made a simple Christmas dinner. Today I was bad and bought some Blue Bunny no sugar added butter pecan ice cream. It looks delicious!!!!

Hi all!
Happy Christmas!
Big hugs.
Cat Lady WTG you! Hi Miss G hope you feel better soon. Hi everyone I don't know.
I had MRIs on Friday on my neck and head , my neurologist found weakness in my right arm and left leg last week and he is ruling out issues in these areas , I think it is my neuro muscular disease. I walked 5 miles yesterday after my Christmas meal with my friend Bob. No exercise today except for some bicep curls. I have been a slug. I need a fire set under my butt. I am exhausted all of the time. My doc says I am behaving more like me. I spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with my medicare part D insurance company today have to call Social Security tomorrow morning the office closed at 3pm today. Trying to figure out if they have decided to continue with the extra help for next year or not the insurance company said they aren't sure yet if they are paying for the subsidy . So I am confused if the insurance company doesn't know who knows. I haven't gotten a definitive yes or no , the last letter I got was ' you may not be eligible ' and my income was $250 over for the year but I don't own anything and people are able to own a home and a car , so that should go into my allowance , I don't have any assets , that someone with a car and a home do. This is all very stressful.
Anyway hope you all had a good holiday.

Cat lady 60 minutes yesterday is great! I love to work out in the pool and will be able to get in 60 minutes this afternoon. 45 minutes fast crawl and leg pushes, then 15 minutes of running in the water. It's a great aerobic and easy on the joints.

10 minutes is all I can get in some days and 10 is better than nothing. I purchased a FitBit a few weeks ago and wear it all day. It's been a motivator for me in walking. Still not walking 5000 steps every day but will get there soon. Wish I had bought the more expensive one as it counts your stairs and I do stairs all the time at home. Maybe Santa will bring me one.

Making progress is always great. It really picks you up and urges you to keep going. Good for you H20-LADY. Keep up the good work!!!

Got in 60 minutes of exercise yesterday. I really had to push myself. A dear sparkfriend reminded me on the days I don't want to exercise that 10 minutes will do. I get into an all or nothing mentality. Need to keep my mind open and realize that some days I will only do 10 minutes and that's okay. A little something is better than a lot of nothing!!!

Enjoying a cup of hot tea on this cold Virginia morning. emoticon

Been feeling really good about my progress. I've really given myself the time to read, exercise, eat and post all my activities. It takes time but worth it for me. My friends are being so supportive. With the Christmas season of eating here, they know what I'm doing and are supporting me with not tempting me with goodies.

Been having to deal with my mom long distance. Doing stuff for her is so hard when I live so far away. She just came home from the nursing home a week ago and she has not been managing well. For two days now I have been researching new insurance plans for her by computer and on the phone. It takes all my time. I have been kind of neglecting myself but finally got back to taking care of myself yesterday. I got in 60 minutes of exercise...45 minutes walking at Walmart before shopping then I did an additional 15 minutes on the treadmill. Whew, I can do this!!! I just need to remember to take time for myself.

I've been skimping on exercicse the past two days. I did minimal exercise. Today I got back in the saddle and did 45 minutes on the treadmill and then got on the bike for 15 minutes. So, I got my 60 minutes of exercise in. I do feel so much better when I exercise.

Got bored walking on the treadmill so today I walked during the TV commercials. I have a circuit in my house that I walk. One lap takes 1 minute and I make 3 laps each time. I did 60 minutes of exercise this way today. I know it isn't the ideal form of exercise but it is something different to break up the boredom of walking on the treadmill. It took me all day to accomplish. I do get a little winded because I walk kinda fast.

Catlady, you are doing an amazing job!

This has been a weekend of sitting on my butt, but a good weekend of it! Yesterday DH and I went to the Lord of the Rings marathon and got to see all three movies on the big screen again. Today, we slept in, and then went and got mani-pedis. It's going to be a very busy week here, so it was nice to have a relaxing weekend.

This week? I have court and clients Monday, through Thursday, and on Wednesday afternoon friends are arriving from out of town for the weekend. Why? Because on Saturday they are getting married in our living room! They used to live on opposite coasts and only met because of us, and they wanted a quiet ceremony, so they want to get married here. I'm very excited, but it will mean some cleaning!

Hubby also finally got back to the cardiologist and got the bad news that he has to make major lifestyle changes. Instead of Oreos and steak, he needs to eat fruit and veggies, and fish three times a week. He is quite disgruntled, but I am secretly thrilled, because those are the things I love to eat. But it does mean I have to focus a lot more on cooking and menu planning. I do love to cook, though, so it will be all right.

Was going to skip exercise yesterday. Felt like giving myself the day off. Got home from errands and decided to get on the treadmill and walked for 30 minutes. At least I didn't skip. I did a little something. I may do the same thing today. I'll see how I feel. Maybe I can eek out 60 minutes!!!

Walked 40 minutes yesterday at Walmart before doing my shopping. After I got home I got on the treadmill and walked for an additional 22 minutes to get my 60 minutes in. I think I may take a break today and do only 15 mintues. I have already exceeded my weekly goal of calories burned for the week.

Went to get my hair cut today and my hairdresser noticed my up-beat appearance. She said I was looking happy. That made me feel good. It means my hard work is actually doing something!!!

Woohoo, CatLady! That's very awesome.

I got up early to work out but the plan was waylaid by DD being sick. So now I'm planning on biking this evening instead.

WooHoo!!! I reached a goal. Yesterday I posted that I had done 50 minutes of exercise. Later in the day I decided to do a little more and got back on the treamdill for an additional 10 minutes so I got in 60 minutes of exercise. OMG!! I still can't believe that I am doing so much exercise. I used to write blogs about how much I hated exercise and that I could never understand how people could enjoy it. Now I am that person, enjoying my exercise time. How things change in a year. It all starts with babysteps. At one point I could barely do 5 minutes. With persistence I blossomed up to 60 minutes a day.

Catlady, isn't that an amazing feeling?! I had something of the same thing: I did an hour on my NordicTrack in the morning, and then yesterday evening DH and I went on a 3 mile walk.

You are doing an amazing job. I often use you as an example of what determination can accomplish when I'm talking to people who think they just can't exercise.

Had a really good day yesterday with my exercise. I managed to get in 15 minutes on the bike in 5 minute increments. Later in the day I actually felt like doing more exercise...OMG, me, the exercise hater actually wanted to do more exercise. So, I got on the treadmill and walked an additional 30 minutes. Today I was able to walk 50 continuous minutes on the treadmill which is good for me. My goal for 2013 is to get up to 60 minutes a day of exercise. I am almost there. Thanks for your support.

CatLady, it's amazing how quickly our bodies unadapt to a certain activity, but you will recover your stamina pretty quickly!

For me, the most exciting thing today is that I'm not sore. After the Turkey Trot I could hardly walk on Friday, and today I'm not sore at all! Yay!

walked 35 minutes yesterday at Walmart Thursday I was tired of walking on the treadmill so I decided to walk around my house during the TV commercials. Each commercial is about 2 minutes long and I did it 20 times so i got in 40 minutes of exercise. I never realized how quickly the commercials come. I managed to get in 11, 308 steps that day. WooHoo!!!. I really enjoyed my exercise that day.

Today I am trying the stationary bike again. It has been along time since I did some pedaling. Before I stopped I was up to 10 minutes of pedaling before stopping and I was doing a total of 40 minutes. Today I barely made 5 minutes. I had to stop at 3 minutes to catch my breath. I will keep at it 5 minutes at a time and see how far I get.

PJ, WTG with your class! I'm glad Lynn is doing well.

My chip time was 41:18, a big improvement over the 44-something of Thanksgiving Day.

Hi Miss G WTG you! GREAT JOB! What was your time?
I am proud of you!
I got up and went to the gym , had an alarm, and went because Lynn was teaching her class, even though this was chemo week, she looked great and felt good, I burned 350 calories in spin and burned 50 calories riding to the gym, Lynn gave me and my bike a ride home it was raining. We are having her 3rd fundraiser this afternoon at Cafe Margaeux at 4pm. I feel better thus far today, but I am not dressed yet. ;).
House is still looking like a crime sceene.

PJ, how frustrating. I'm sorry you have so many issues.

I actually managed to jog the whole 5k! Sloooowly, but I jogged it! Considering that I just started jogging a few weeks ago, I'm quite happy with myself.

hi miss G,
I can't take the medications , I have strange reactions to them, I was given antidepressants when I had chronic pain and they made me so depressed I couldn't get out of bed, pain medications make me have pain, some of them make me so anxious I can't sleep, cocaine made me sleep, I am wired in opposite ways and I am allergic to so many antibiotics I am afraid to take things. So since I took St. Johns wort years ago with good outcome we are trying it again, I was never like this before. I am having weird symptoms tonight, I was at a party and having trouble finding words when I am talking , I came home and my blood pressure is ok. I will call my doctor on Monday. I have an appointment with my medical doctor this next week. It is just weird I feel like my brain is in mud. it just feels weird
Thank you Miss G have fun on your run.

PJ, thanks! We're doing another 5k this weekend--the Reindeer Run, where they give us jingle bells to tie to our shoes. It should be fun!

IMREITE, that's a really great insight. I am trying to push myself past such things, too.

PJ, I suffer from depression of that sort of "just sit and stare" type, too, and I take Welbutrin for it. It helps. If the St. John's Wort doesn't do the job, don't hesitate to try other things. You are not alone.

Big hugs Imreite!
I am stuck in 'FOG " today and yesterday, still in my nightgown at 3pm , I did get out for a 4 mile walk yesterday only burned 268 calories doing it though per my heart monitor though, really doesn't keep me walking when I see that then I feel like I am in dense fog in my brain the next day. End of 2nd week on the St. John's Wort today, Slept 10 hours last night and all I wanted to do was go back to bed when I got up, and I live where it is very warm so I can use the excuse that it is cold though I do feel cold. I have an appointment with my medical doc next week will have her do labs, haven't wanted to eat a thing today did take my vitamins and magnesium and ate some pineapple. I AM GETTING UP FROM HERE IN A BIT AND MAKING MYSELF DO SOMETHING.

I had a small epiphany today. i always tell myself that my weight can not stop me from reaching my goals, but my flab in my torso does prevent me from being able to do certain exercises with good form so i don't do them.

I use it as an excuse to not keep trying or to not use it as motivation to still add intensity to my exercise. i tend to have a small pity party and skip or quit an exercise routine. The only way that i will get over these excuses is to keep working.

I will stop making excuses for what i "can't" do. i will focus on improving at what i can do, commit to seeing results, modify routines and keep working.

HI everyone!
Wow I am so proud of you Miss G on your Turkey Trot ! Great job! WTG you!!
Cat wtg you n your walking!
Pepper Hi, I am PJ and have been missing in action.Hi all sorry for being gone, I am officially depressed. I went to see my neurologist a couple of weeks ago and he said what I have been calling a ' Funk' he said is a depression. I am taking St. John's Wort for it now per his suggestion since I don't do medications very well. I have been taking it for about 10 days , I went to the gym Monday after noon did a High intensity interval training class, a spin class yesterday ,today I did a spin class in the morning and then a 1/2 spin class and then a boot camp class rode my bike 10 miles today. I had been having trouble eating, drinking and getting to the gym. I just started yesterday logging in my food again will work on that and eating my ' clean diet' . It has been a rough year.
I had just been sitting here and staring a lot. My goal every morning is getting up and making myself some breakfast and getting to the gym , take my vitamins , take my magnesium and clean my apartment. Have to treat myself like a ' patient.
Big hugs everyone.

CatLady, that is excellent! What a tremendous amount of progress you've made!

Pepper, congratulations!

DD and I got out of bed at 5am to make it to the gym by 5:30, since she has to be on the bus at 7:15 to get to work on time. It worked out pretty well, though I couldn't fall asleep last night so am kind of a zombie today. I jogged two miles on the treadmill in just under 30 minutes, then lifted weights.

Tomorrow morning I have to be downtown at 8:30, which will give us more workout time since I will just drive her in with me. So we're going to swim tomorrow.

Did an extra minute on the treadmill yesterday so I am up to 46 minutes on the treadmill. It burned 4 more calories so the more the better!!!! I am making progress. Every little bit helps and makes me stronger.

Did a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving. Until this year I always thought they were kind of an insane thing. What a difference of viewpoint I have now. It was a lot of fun! Of course, it helped that the sun was shining and it was about 50 degrees, so perfect running weather. I was out there with DD and another good friend, and they both went slow to stay with me. I was actually able to keep up a jogging pace for the first two miles, walked for part of the third mile, and then finished at a run. We finished in under 45 minutes, which is not great, but we weren't last!

Didn't skip my exercise on Thanksgiving. I got in 45 minutes on the treadmill. I also did 45 minutes on the treadmill today although I didn't want to. Starting is difficult, but once I get going to do okay!!!

I seem to be able to get walking in without much trouble at all, because I do a lot at work. My fitness minutes always look good, but I'm fortunate to be able to do my daily "circle tours" here to deliver things or meet with people face to face.

Did 45 minutes yesterday. My goal for the new year is to get to 60 minutes of exercise during 2013. I am only 15 minutes away. Maybe I can make that goal come true. I just need to keep pushing myself and adding a little time each week or so.

Yesterday I did another"just 10 minutes" and managed to do 45 minutes nonstop. I walked on the treadmill. I will aim to do the same thing today. If I aim for just 10 minutes I can always keep going and push myself to do just another 2 or 3 minutes.

Whew!!!! I did my exercise today. I got up at 7:30 a.m. yesterday but after I turned off the alarm I stayed in bed. Only got about 10 minutes of walking in. Today I did the same thing but as the day progressed I told myself to walk for at least 10 minutes on the treadmill. I have been reading a good book called Body Clutter and this past chapter talked about doing some form of exercise every day. I do good on most days, but some days I just don't feel like it, to be honest :( I did manage to walk for 45 mintues today so that was good. A gold star for the day!! WooHoo!!!!

i have been tired and lethargic for the last 2 weeks. i have been working out but not with as much intensity or as long as i would like. i am not quitting but i feel like i am putting in only minimal effort towards some of my goals.

Today i was annoyed at work because of stupid stuff. by afternoon i got into a grove. i made my monthly goal in 1 day! yes some of it was dumb luck but since i did well it will be a good bonus pay out at the end of the month.

Haven't checked in in a few days. Sorry. I did walk Tuesday, around the mall for about 30 minutes. I did two laps. Then Wednesday I did just some regular walking at Walmart and got in 20 minutes. Today I did my usual exercise and walked outside. It was a little on the cold side so I had to wear my winter jacket as my hoodie was not warm enough. I got in a 43 minute walk.

Like I said it is on the cold side. I had my 2 cups of coffee this morning for breakfast and I am now having some hot tea. I am on my second cup.

Hope everyone does a little exercise today. Get up and move!!!! Have a great day!!!

What a great day. It was nice and sunny when I went for my walk. It has turned a little cloudy now but it is still nice. I walked for 40 minutes today and it felt good. I am feeling good. I don't know what to attribute this feeling to but I like it. I am sleeping good and just feel good!!! No weighty matters on my mind, I am calm and am enjoying life. Hope it lasts.

Have a great day everyone!!

Got up first thing this morning and went for my walk. It was a little chilly our but once i got walking I warmed up and had to take off my hoodie. On the way home I was greeted by my husband and the dog, Boone, coming to find me. The dog tracks me and drags my husband down the road!!! Too funny!!!

Hi all, I have been sick for a few days and finally today I feel better, I can breathe ! I have an occasional cough but I am so much better. I went to my friend Bob's RV today and plugged it into the electricity and turned on the fuses and put on a bug bomb so it will be ready for him when he gets down here on Tuesday afternoon.
Cat wtg on the video!
Hope you all are well .
Big hugs.

Skipped my exercise yesterday as I was busy filming the video for my Humana insurance company. They asked me to make a video to help promote their Personal Coaching Program. Filming was set up for the 9th and the film crew came to my home to do it. they were here for 4 hours and I had a great time. I wrote a blog describing it all. Please read my blog.

I went to Walmart today to do my walking. We've been having great weather so I hope to get outside to walk tomorrow. I did 30 minutes today.

my neighbors are pretty good about their dogs so my hubby has no problem walking at night.
my nose has been so stuffy so it is hard to get intense exercise. a few times it felt so sleepy and was not in the mood to keep going.

Got up early this morning and went for my walk. I got in a 40 minute walk. I took a different route for a change, not that I have many options in the way I go. It was nice except for three dogs that decided they wanted to scare me. I was really worried that they were going to attack me and I had no defense. I really wish the "parents" would keep the dogs on a leash or in a kennel. They chase cars and are really bothersome. They form a pack with other dogs in the neighborhood and roam our property scaring our wildlife. My dog is a house dog and goes out only on a leash with parental supervision. He doesn't wander or roam. My old dog was in a kennel or stayed in the shop with my husband. She didn't roam and cause trouble.

Hi!
Cat wtg on your walking.
Hi all, I have a bit of a sore throat, was up late and went to bed with a wet head and then we had a cool front come through. I did a spin class yesterday and rode my bike 12 miles to Maggie's and back so 17 miles on my bike total . Lots of stress with being told I will not have help paying for my meds this next year, so applying for drug assistance programs etc.

Walked to the polling station on Tuesday so I got in a 40 minute walk round trip. It was cold, but nice. I walked for 40 minutes on the treadmill Monday. Today I will walk Walmart before I shop. I am hoping for 35 minutes. Maybe I can squeak in 6 laps and get in 40 minutes.

Exercise is good for us!!! I have to keep telling myself that!!!

Walked Walmart yesterday for 40 minutes. I did pretty good and got in 6 laps. Today will be spent cleaning my living room. I am trying to do a little each day to get ready for the film crew that is coming on Friday. My house is a mess. I am not a good housekeeper. I used to be, but not anymore. I cleaned every Friday night in years past. It was routine....dusting. vacuuming, cleaning the bathrooms. Now if I dust twice a year that is something spectacular!!! I made a schedule so that I am doing a little each day to get ready. I am almost done with the dusting. I do have a ceiling fan that I need to clean. I find it hard to get up on a step ladder so that may be a challenge. I may have to get my husband to do it.

It looks like a beautiful day here in central Virginia. Hope everyone else is enjoying some nice fall weather. have a good day.

Hi everyone!
Dang, I didn't realize I wasn't here for so long. I got through the weekend of the spin a thon for Lynn, we had a surprise dinner for her the night before and then the day after that I volunteered for the 1/2 marathon here in town and that was the same weekend that hurricane Sandy passed by us and our barrier island was flooding and our roads on the intercoastal rivers were flooding on high tide after it had passed by for days, and then we had the ' cold front ' hit us and we went from ' summer' to winter in 24 hours and I didn't leave the apartment for 4 or 5 days. It then warmed back up to the high 70s and 80 , but this morning it is cloudy again. I did finally make it over to help Maggie this weekend for 7 hours each weekend day for the first time in 2 weeks. The boys are cranky and teething . The new baby is growing, it was stressful. I had dystonia symptoms two nights in a row but slept well last night. I just saw the first little white egret with yellow on it's head for the season. Hmm just now as I turned my head. Cat it is exciting about your video and I can understand you being nervous!
WTG everyone on all of your hard work and dedication ! WTG on your exercise! So glad you carry on without me.
Big hugs.

did a bootcamp type of workout today. with squat thrusts. I struggle to do them at a higher speed because my gut gets in the way. Does anyone else have trouble getting a good range of motion while doing squat thrusts of mountain climbers because of their weight?

Got an email from the producer from the Humana video. All is a go for Nov. 9th. I am getting nervous now. He gave me all the wardrobe no-no's. Of course what I had planned to wear was on the list!! :( Now I have to scramble and find something appropriate. I don't really have the money to buy any thing new. Three people are coming to do the shoot. I hope they are not expecting a well-to-do home because I live in a country house with not many positives. My front porch steps are falling apart and the house is in desperate need of painting.

Got up this morning and had no motivation to exercise. Maybe as the day progresses I'll get some exercise done. I amy take myself to Walmart and walk there. I'll see how I feel.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Cat, I always love it right after I get my hair cut!

I've started reorganizing myself for cold weather workouts--got on my Nordic Track ski machine twice this week for an hour each time. And lifted today. Now I just have to get a regular schedule going!

SRANDALL381 - sent you a message on your sparkpage on how to get the weight loss ticker. Hope you got it.

I have been skipping regular exercise. I did walk on the treadmill Monday but only got in about 10 minutes walking Tuesday and 15 minutes yesterday. I did make myself get up first thing this morning an go for ym walk on the road. I got in a good 35 minutes.

Got my hair done...finally...on Tuesday. It looks good. I got it cut and permmed. It was really looking ragged. I needed to get it done months ago. I am anticipating Humana coming to make my video next Friday so I really needed the hair job.

Hope everyone stays warm and enjoys the day!!

Got up early this moring and got to my exercise first thing. i walked on the treadmill for 32 minutes. Didn't tempt going out due to the rain and potential problems from Sandy. I was worried that I would get into my walk and the heavens would open up.

Got a lot done with my putteirng and tidying I did over the past two days. I had such a big mess to tackle and by doing it in baby steps I got a lot accomplished. I am trying to get ready for the video team from Humana. they are coming on Nov. 9th to film the video with me to advertise their coaching programs.

Finally getting ym hair done tomorrow. It has grown too long for me and I have no curls left. I am getting a perm (if the weather permits). that is also in prep for the video.

Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe from Sandy. Hugs all around!!

Got back into my walking, but yesterday and today I have skipped it for house cleaning and tidying up. I got in over 6000 steps yesterday just walking around the house. I am hoping for the same results today.

Not sure what we are to expect from Sandy. One forecaster says one thing and another says something different. I did fill my car with gas and we have water on the shelf. We do have a generator so if the power goes out we can run the fridge and freezers and most important, use the coffee pot!!! I love my coffee!!

Hope everyone is getting along fine. Use caution with Sandy, be prepared and be safe!!!

Hi, all. Cat, great job on the walking! PJ, I'm sorry to hear that you are still doing poorly.

Yesterday we rode 6 miles, then jog/walked a mile and a quarter, then rode 6 miles home. I am still BAD at this jogging thing, but hope to keep improving! We also did an ab workout and boy do I feel that today!

It's cloudy and looking like rain here. We were supposed to ride this evening, but I don't know if we are going to, if the weather is too bad.

I wrote a post but my MSN stopped working and I lost it. Argh!!!!!!!

Thanks for all your concern about my episode walking the other day. I did walk yesterday at Walmart and got in my usual 35 minute walk. I got up this morning and got ready to hit the road again. i was nervous but figured I'd better get back on the horse or I would start making excuses as to why i couldn't' walk anymore. I have come too far to give up or give in. After walking for a few minutes my confidence came back and I was able to walk an additional 5 minutes for a grand total of 40 minutes. Met my husband and Boone, the dog, on my way home.

I love my sparkfriends.

CatLady, that's scary! I would urge you to go to the doctor and let them give you a checkup. It could have just been low blood sugar, but there's a lot more that it could be. In the meantime, yes, walk at WalMart, and with a cart to hang onto if you need!

Got up for my walk today and had a terrible incident. I started walking and things were going well. Then all of a sudden my legs started to give out on me. I would put my foot down and my knees would buckle. I should have turned around and gone back home, but I kept walking. I had it in my head that I had to get my walk in. Rubber legs continued and I continued walking. I got about 1/3 of the way through my walk and the next things I knew I was flat on my back in the road. I was in a heap on the ground. Thank goodness I didn't hit my head and no cars were coming. Usually once I am down on the ground I can't get back up. I rolled over and managed to get myself up and then I kept walking!!!!!!!! My brain wasn't thinking properly. I got almost home and I saw my husband. By then i was barely able to walk. I told him what had happened and he quickly went home and got the car. he came back and got me. Yikes!! Still don't know what happened. I am now nervous about walking again. I think I will walk at Walmart tomorrow to be on the safe side.
