there are some standing ab/oblique moves.

depending on why you can't do situps, there are some pilates ab moves that are efficient even if only doing a few reps.

Hi Lantech!

I am sorry I was not clear. The Hip Hop Abs will burn fat without a doubt and it also tones. It is a fun workout and even my rhythmically challenged Scott-Irish hubby whose been nursing a bit of a beer belly finds it helpful to his weightloss goals. He does about 10 minutes at a time.

It sounds like you have a good plan and it is working for you. When you feel like you want to move into finding a fun DVD workout. I could not recommend it more.

I've found that doing alternating toe touches are less strenuous on my back and accomplish an acceptable ab workout I'm concentrating much more on fat burning then strength training though. I know both are important but I want to build some more endurance and stress my body less before i try to pack on muscle.

I am a big fan of Hip Hop Abs! The "Fat Burning Cardio" and "AB Sculpt" are great ones to start with for core strengthening. Also, GILAD has a series broken into 8 minute segments and it works your core very well and it is not "dancy". Just straight forward.

at least you are getting exercise in in shovelling the snow.took the kids sliegh riding today they had a ball i am knackered with pulling them up the hill.never mind i think of it as exercise.

I also second the suggestion on reverse situps, and I actually feel more of a burn doing them that way, and much prefer it. GOOD LUCK!

will do. I expect they'll be harder because of the force on the diaphragm and the weight of my legs but i'll find out in the morning

I'm trying to start doing at least some light strength training and can do very little I need an alternative to situps since apparently I can't do any and i really want to try to build my core so i get rid of this gut a little faster
