Hello Team-

Sharon - you will do this - your attitude is in the right place, I can feel it in your post!!!

Jan - hope your therapy went well. And I hope one of us wins that porsche!!!

Happy to say I had my first nutriblast with COLLARD GREENS today!!! I liked it!! I mixed it with pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, goji berries and flax. I also read in the brochure that eating starches with protein makes them work against each other? I'll read more on it when I have time, but basically said have protein with veggies/fruit and have starch with veggies/fruit but not protein with starch. So I waited an hour after the blast to have my turkey sausage. I'm 1 pound away from my ticker so I'm feeling pretty good. I got a walk in this morning with sweats and puffy hair because it was only in the 50's! I know I'm a wimp, but I got out there and got a 40 minute walk in while listening to an audiobook about changing our habits! So excited for this new year - I really didn't hate 2013 - had a lot of fun and good things happened but I believe this year will be fantastic and I'm excited about that.

Have a great day everyone - and Sharon - don't overdo with the shoveling. I know, easier said than done, but if it's your son that needs to go somewhere, let him get the road ready for you.

Just a quick post as I am getting ready to go out and clean cars off and start shoveling as we are really dealing with alot of snow. Close to a foot and more is expecting.

I did my fast yesterday and am down 3 lbs today and still need to lose 1 more lb that I gain from christmas and 8 more to get back to my ticker weight. Since I start food lover with my group yesterday and I can't weigh my self for the next 21 days as this is the hardest part for me staying off the scale but am determine to do it right this time around. I hope to get some really good results at the end of 21 days and will be happy with it. I also measure my self this morning as it was really depressing as the last time I measure myself was May 2012. I am facing the music and moving forward. Feel that this time around is going to be so much better and will have a better attitude and instead of beating my self I am just moving forward and to be more postive. This time around only need to lose 57 lbs to get to my goal. Did gain 42 lbs back.

Am getting ready to tackle the snow. Have a great day every one. emoticon emoticon

Just stopping by before I go to my first Therapy for my arm and leg.

Heather, I'm glad your using your new bullet and adding flax. Try golden flax or some of the new mixed versions with Omega 3's, nuts and flax. Yummy sprinkled on top of just about anything. Carmichael is only 25minutes from me and I take Nadine to one of her Drs. there.
small world…right?

This mornings breakfast I poached a pear then grilled it. Added a scoop of yogurt and on top a tablespoon of flax nut mix with a drizzle of Agave. So yummy you would think you were cheating but only 250 cals.
Ok...Maybe it's not oatmeal but I'm looking and trying alternates for yummy healthy meals ONCE in a while when I want something sweet. Yesterday was oatmeal with cinnamon and walnuts. No sugar, with a little almond milk. Tomorrow will be a poached egg with 1 slice gluten free multigrain bread. Lunches are either a salad or a soup (I've been making some with butternut squashes, mushrooms for a smooth mushroom soup, or clear broth and adding chicken and lemongrass)
Dinners are now my lightest meal. 3-4 oz of protein, with veggies (no other carbs) and a side salad of greens and fresh cut veggies. Flavored vinegar are my go too.
So far I've lost 3 lbs. That's not saying much since I've gained almost 8 lbs since the Holdiays.

I'm excited as well and hope we all can restart, reboot and have the best New Year of fun, fabulous creative meals that will get us ALL to a permanent lifestyle change.

Sharon: you did good my friend with gaining only 1 lb and that will be an easy fix this week.
So happy your restarting food lovers as it worked so well for you before.

LA: Looks like you've already restarted and are doing great. This is a year of soulful and meaningful beginnings as you take the time for YOU! don't let stress and commitments get you off track. Remember your important. Plus, you can't help others if your not taking care of you.

Michelle: We miss you and Love you. Hope to see you in the new year.

Caroline: YOU! are OUR inspiration this year. So proud of you and looking forward to hearing how your doing and how your getting to your goals. YIPPIE!!!

Have an awesome day everyone. Take care of your body - and it will take care of us.

Hi Friends
Happy new year every one.

Got back yesterday from being down my best friend's and we had a great time and so much foods and drinks and didn't really go over board and happy to see that I only gain 1 lb while I was down there. Today am restarting food lover with my group and so far so good. I am doing my fasting today.

Caroline you are doing great and getting back on track.

Jan so happy for you that you don't need a knee replacement after all and only therapy.

Heather glad that you were able to catch up with an old friend. Happy that you are down couple of lbs already in the new year.

LeAnna hope that you are doing ok and getting back to laying back more and take up less stuff to do.

Michelle how are you doing? Hope that you are doing ok. We miss you here and hope that you will be coming back here.

Have to go and update my calendars, putting all my paper work away from 2013 and need to take my measurements for food lover if I decide to do online support. Think I might be doing it on Mon.

Have a great day every one and let this be a start of a healthy happy new year for all of us.

Love you all.

Good Morning Team -

Jan that is WONDERFUL news - no surgery!!!! Thanks for reminding about the flax - I will throw a handful of that into my nutribullet concoctions! I've got everything I need in the house for yummy, fresh healthy eating and I'm excited to have a great outlook about making it happen this year.

Yesterday, I caught up with a girlfriend I haven't seen in *gulp* 40 years!! She came down to spend New Years on the beach with her family. It was amazing how we just "fell in" to catching up and enjoying each other's company. She's a traveling ER nurse now and will be doing her next assignment in Carmichael, CA (not too far from you Jan). It's funny how our lives have intersected unknowingly over the last "40". It was also great to go out, enjoy a few glasses of wine and a light appetizer at a place known for their appetizers and food and not go overboard at all. I'm already down a few pounds in this new year and I'm excited about my food choices! No more feeling deprived, no more "loading up", no more "negotiations in my head". Just living, making good choices and knowing I will be so happy with the outcome I will NOT sabotage myself!!! This is normal human behavior, and all I need to do, is take a few extra seconds or minutes to "reset" my focus when and if it gets skewed. I saw a great talk on willpower and it helped me a lot - the biggest take away was that if we allow ourselves to be sidetracked from any goal, if we take the time to examine what we "chose" over our goal (after the fact), we will ALWAYS realize it did NOT satisfy the way reaching the goal WOULD. We allow ourselves to believe it will, but it really won't. Simple right? So often it's the simple things that elude us. I intend to keep this front and center in my mind.

Have a great day all!

Happy New Year Everyone:

Caroline I just love your enthusiasm and thank you for posting our plans. I'm pretty lax with posting on another link so I hope it will help and I'll go there and post mine when I finish here.

I will get to personals later today or tomorrow. Today I'm focusing on ME! lol.
first, thank you all for your sweet prayers. LA, I want you to know it was all in God's hands and the outcome is more than one can expect at my age. No breaks, no dislocation. What was found on the X-ray is some arthritic spots on my knee so I am going to therapy for that as well as for the tendinitis in my arm. The Dr. told me it isn't a complete picture but the VERY good news is what I thought all along. I won't need a knee replacement. After three treatments in therapy, I will be eligible to get an MRI if it doesn't show progress.
I do have some elevated cholesterol so I am now stepping up my weight loss options. Not only for weight loss but to include a tablespoon of flax to my meals 2x a day. Dr. says it will grab a lot of excess fats like a magnet and pull them away from being digested and into the blood stream. Of course that now means I also have to look at my diet not in calories but in what I am putting into my body. My father and my grandmother both had heart disease and it was fatal for both, though my father survived many into his 80's by the grace of God. My grandmother died in her early 70's from one massive heart attack.

So it's good to get behind the 8 ball, know where we stand and move forward as best we can.
Heather your not alone: I have also be bad this Holiday. And I won't sicken myself with the details…just move forward! I purchased a juicer I'm giving to my girlfriend Heidi. Heidi has been wanting one and although I used to juice before, I found it tedious and took a lot of fresh veggies to make one drink.
I'll let her try it and can go there for fresh carrot juice when I really want it. Otherwise I will continue to buy fresh bottled carrot juice at my Wholefoods market. (so it's a few hours or even a day old…for me it's not an argument for all the mess making your own entails.)

So today is a fresh year and a fresh start. Here's to all of us making great choices and doing our bodies good this year. I'm really looking forward to hopefully meeting everyone this summer and we should look and feel the best we can.

Here's to fresh starts, and fresh clean eating. Love you all so much. Jan

Happy New Year!

Hi Team-

Yes Caroline - the Spark halls will be filled. Thanks for starting that other thread - I've put my plans there too. Your soup sounds lovely! I'm glad you have already started your carb detox!

Oh LA - I'm sorry to disappoint - yes I've been more than "bad" this holiday. I won't begin to describe. I feel awful so maybe that's what I needed to do to make a better change in 2014. Not so much craving. My oldest son got me a nutribullet and I'm really excited about including it in my diet. I've already tried it a couple of times and I'm looking forward to trying collard greens and kale with it! Spinach was great, lettuce, surprisingly had more of a taste than the spinach. You know I've got a real problem with sugar and now that I've had more than my fill I want to remember how I feel now. I've been dancing around it for too long.

I do plan to make my special split pea with barley soup in January - I've got a great big ham bone from Christmas in the freezer. This will be my "non-sugar" treat to look forward to making and eating. It does have carbs and salt - but every carb is a garden carb so I'm going to enjoy this when I feel a need for something "rich".

Yesterday was a better day...the day before was difficult.
Like we all have said in the past, it takes about 3 days to get those carb cravings
under control. BUT...you can do it. I just did it. It will not be easy, but it can happen.
That is why I am posting this. I just went through 3 bad days of withdrawal. Yesterday,
I had to ask God to help me...He did. I made a big pot of chicken vegetable soup and
that helped a lot...not potatoes in it, and it was nice and clean.

Happy new year to all. I am anticipating this room being very crowded after the new year.
LOL

Caroline

ok, I got ahead of myself and everyone else..please pardon me in my excitement.

I will delete everyone's plan but mine, as you need to be able to edit it yourself.
So, I hope I have not offended anyone.

My knees are really bothering me...maybe the weather, I do not know but probably
poisons too.

Have a great new week coming up.

Hi everyone! Just caught up on your news. Wow.

Sharon sooooo busy with your son and snow. As for the fasting days, maybe you could try fasting from noon to noon. It is so much easier. Also, remember to do it as a day of prayer and stay focused on God instead of being deprived. That really makes the difference for me. I hope you have fun with your friend and come home ready to start over with all of us

CAROLINE, I am taking you up on making my plans for January. I have plenty of freezer food. I actually already started a little by cutting out flour. My hands hurt like crazy with the inflammation. Today I cut out flour AND dairy. I have paid big time eating these things I am allergic to. Not just in weight gain but in all over body aches. Sugar is next to go. I'm trying one thing at a time till Jan 12. That is when I begin again. We have a big event Jan 11 and I want to set myself up for success not failure.

HEATHER I am surprised that you of all of us, that you have been indulging so. You do make me want to get back on track for sure!!! We are NOT going to have YOU gain back your weight. Let's do this for each other. Remember our reward trip! I so want us ALL to make this happen and we can!

JAN. oh sweet Jan. I am praying for a Christmas miracle for your knee. In Jesus name, I agree with you and everyone here that you will NOT need a knee replacement. I just had the idea that you should do several days of spinach smoothies. Cut out all wheat gluten. Give it a whirl. Take it easy but do some therapy. I am glad you have found some friends who are givers like you. My mom always said that you will know who your truest friends are when you are down and out. I wish you lived closer to me and I would also help take care of you!!

I hope MICHELLE comes back to us by January to restart with us. Michelle, if and when you read this, WE MISS YOU. hoping you are healthy and just busy. HUGS.

Missing PG also. Thinking of her lately. I'm sure she made some yummy cookies for Christmas. Ha ha. Our little Cookie Monster

I think I have almost recovered from all our Christmas company. I have been taking life easier these days. My life is definitely going to slow down. My husband has been off since the 19th. He is home right now, until the 6th. I guess this is a small taste of what retirement will be like in the future. My life seems to revolve around what his schedule for the day is. And since he is in sales and eats out every single day at the best Houston restaurants for lunch, guess where he has been taking me everyday for lunch?? My body cannot handle this You would think I would be so happy but this is really taking a toll on my body. He wants to go to Kenny and Ziggy's today. That is the best pastrami anywhere, bar none. Oh dear. No bread or dairy today though so this will be interesting. It is what he loves to do and it just doesn't affect his body like mine. Enough of that. I have been on my elliptical two days in a row now. I am trying to make it 20-30 minutes every day. Forming new habits is WORK emoticon emoticon Well you all have a great weekend. I will be back here ASAP. emoticon emoticon

Hey everyone!

Alright, let's go shop for some new workout clothes, or wash the old ones, and lay them
out....get ready to move!! Time will be upon us soon.
Get out those recipes and start laying out your meal plans...know ahead of time what you
will be eating...do not go blindly into that kitchen!

I tried yesterday to get the sugar out of me. I decided to just lay off the sweets. I almost
caved in twice....it was HARD!! as my body was screaming at me. I popped a Viactive
calcium chew in my mouth and fixed a nice cup of coffee and got busy with something else.
I made it through yesterday with no sugar...I did eat carbs, but I am doing baby steps right
now.

Today it is no BAD carbs, but MT carbs for my body type. So far so good.
I will have some chicken salad for lunch. It is not breast, but I have six leg quarters I do
not want to throw out (fixed chicken and dumplings for the lady next door as she had
her baby...Miss Paris) these were left over.
I have a spaghetti squash needs to be cooked, and I have my day planned.

So, have a great weekend, but not too great on booze and food!! But do give a cheer
to the new year coming up.

God bless and love you all

Caroline

Just a quick post as I just got home from my son wrestling practice, I have alot to do, pay all bills before tomorrow, pack our clothes, gather all the christmas presents and have the car load and ready to go tomorrow. We are leaving to go down to our best friend's for 5 days, Won't be back till late New year day.

Heather thank you for giving me the receipe for the egg nog cookies, won't have time to make them now, maybe the end of next month for my birthday will make them. You are a doll. I know that it will take a while to beat the sugar cravings as it doesn't just happen over night. Enjoy your week end and remember in the new year take time for your self. Happy to still say that my favorite cookies are still in the cookie jar and haven't touch them yet for couple of weeks. I ate alot of hershey mint kisses the other day and just couldn't stop at one. I tried but I couldn't I am slowly getting better in other areas.

Won't be here before the new year, so I want to wish all my friends a happy healthy new year to all of us and may this will be our year to shine and to reach our goals. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hello team -
This is short and sweeet -

Sharon here is the recipe - but if you do it; better be before the new year!

www.cookingclassy.com/2013/11/melt-m
ou
th-eggnog-cookies/

I only used eggnog and powedered sugar for the frosting and it turned out great. I sprinkled with green and red sugar to decorate.

Jan - praying your second opinion is better than the first - you never know; and it's wise to verify before agreeing to go under the knife.

MIL and niece will be arriving probably before I finish work today and the DH won't be home until 9:30 - house looks like a tornado hit it and I have yet to shower and get dressed!! (That's a pitfall of working at home - I'm going to have to sneak in a shower before company arrives!!) Middle son just left this morning. I am welcoming the weekend and trying to put on my game face for company that likes to EAT EAT EAT. I am currently trying to break out of a sugar coma and feel barely capable of working.

Guess what? I got a nutri-bullet from my oldest son for Christmas - excited to make that a part of my goals in 2014! I'm thinking this is going to be a great year!!!

Merry Christmas 2nd day.

Jan glad that you had a very nice christmas and emoticon to hear about your arm and your knee need a replacement. emoticon I had a knee replacement done April 2009 and it is suppose to last for 10 years and here it is already 4 years down the road my knee is already bothering me. I already know what my diagnos is before I even go to the doctor. I will probably will need to have both of my knees replace and my left hip replace. Because it is only 4 years on and that is why I am leery of getting my other knee done meaning I will have to have surgery every 4 years. I already had 3 surgeries in 4 years and that is enough for me.

My christmas was ok, I treat my self to a pair of plush PJ;s and put them up yesterday morning and hang out in my PJ's all day as I want to relax. I ate alone, my son ate in his room and my husband never came down which is fine with me, as I wouldn't want to be uncomfortable sitting at the table with both of them and have no conversion. Took my son to practice this morning and now he is not feeling too good and he might not be going with me when I go down to my best friend's on Sat. Came home went to sleep for a while as I was really out of it, woke up clean car off and shovel driveway by my self.

I did start my day on my fast today but it didn't end with my fast. I seem to struggle for some reason on Thurs. and some how I find it a little easy on Mon. I will give it couple of more weeks to see if this is for me and if not I won't do it any more.

Am going to go and relax now. Have a great evening every one.

A Very Merry Christmas to you all.

This morning went to Heidi's house to celebrated Christmas with her family. Justin couldn't wait for us to get there and greeted us outside. I told him it was cold and to run inside, and that we would be right there. When we got in, he couldn't wait for me. That is... to open my gift FROM him! THAT was what he was sooooo excited about?
I thought he couldn't wait to see what I got FOR him. What a precious soul that wee one is. Made my heart feel so proud that I should get that kind of response from an 11 yr old. Best Christmas EVER!
Heidi's husband Martin made Eggs Benedict for us. Mine was on a bed of warm spinach with no ham. I didn't ask…he just knew. Wow! What a great morning.

Nadine and I came home and the dogs (or should I say Lulu) opened their gifts. Jackets, toys, treats…oh my. Lulu never touched the packages that have been sitting for two weeks on the fireplace hearth. I asked her "what did santa bring" She barked, jumped up at the packages and grabbed them, shaking the packages until she got everyone open. Tomorrow a lot of toys, blankets and coats will go to the local shelters.

Nadine went to Heidi's in-laws. (it's almost 7:30 pm and they are still out) I was invited and also invited to a Neighbors for drinks, but the pups and I gladly chilled out together watching old christmas movies. A quiet beautiful Christmas day, simple and filled with the love of my furry darlings. lol. Truly I am blessed this day and blessed to have so many wonderful friends here, there and everywhere.

Some not so great news from my Dr.'s visit yesterday? I have tendonitis in my left arm and will be scheduling therapy for it.
The left leg? Well it looks like I need a total knee replacement. ugh! (I will of course have X-rays and MRI's to confirm it). I couldn't believe it. It wasn't hurting that much but it is pretty immobile when I try to bend it…I thought I had just torn a ligament. My Dr. said I have most likely a high pain tolerance and that's why I don't feel it the way others would. Niceeeee!
Well that's life in an old gals life I guess. But she also said that I'm not like most woman my age and have a great deal of spirit and muscle that will help me not only heal but feel as good as new. That remains to be seen but of course I'll take it as good news.

My friend Dana from the gym texted me to wish me Merry Christmas this morning. I texted her back with Christmas wishes and then told her about the Dr.s visit.
Her response was so sweet. She asked to let her help anyway she can. Said she's a great dog walker and our friend Jill who was with her, also wants to help. I am always so blown away be peoples kindnesses. I know I would do the exact same and actually have for a few friends, but to be a recipient is humbling. It shows what great friends I truly have, even if I haven't known them for long. Just hoping I get a Christmas Miracle and it isn't a new knee for Christmas.

I didn't tell Nadine, but Heidi knows and we will be fine. I can hobble on one leg better than most with two I'm sure. Ha.

May God bless you all. Can't wait to hear how your Christmas went. I hope it was filled with the Joy that Christmas brings. To be with those you love IS everything!
Oh…BTW…Fasting starts tomorrow for me. Muah!

Love you all my Sisters…Jan

I am drinking my egg nog now and making a toast to my friends, Merry Christmas and May you all have a happy healthy new and may we all reach our goals in 2014.Thank you for your friendship and your support.

It was confirm yesterday about our plans, as my son will be missing 2 practices on New year eve and new year day and now we will be going down to our best friends house for 5 days, we will be going down on Sat. and come back on new year day in the evening some time. We are looking forward to spending the new years with our best friends. Come the new year will be looking forward to getting back on track and reaching my goal this time around. We all can do this and let this be our year to reach the goal and to shine.

I was planning on going to church last night for the christmas eve service and because we have no pastor and they decide to only make one service and it start snowing pretty heavy and decide not to go. It did feel strange not to go to church on Christmas eve for me as this is something that I have been doing all my life.

Enjoy your day with your family. it will be just me and my son don't think my husband is coming down which is fine with me. I can't relax when he is around. Love you all and God bless you all.

Hi Friends

Sorry to be MIA been busy running around with my son wrestling. Thurs I did my fast and seem to do ok and was just a little hungry, but got through till the middle of night, I couldn't sleep woke up at 2:00 am was up for most of the night as every thing was hurting me and end up eating a chocolate bar. I was hoping for at least 2 lb loss and did lose 1 lb.Sat. night finally took something to help me sleep as my eyes are really tired and very heavy and most of Sat. was groggy, did try to go back to sleep, but my body just won't let me. Ate more sweets than I want to on Sat. Sunday gain that lb I lost on Thurs. Today is my fast day and did pretty well so far.It does get a little easier as the time go on.I am getting better with my foods and moderation. I have my favorite cookies in the cookie jar and they usually are my trigger foods if it is there I will eat the whole thing and happy to say that they have been in the cookie jar for couple of weeks and am not tempt by them now and that is a plus for me.

Jan glad to hear that you are laying off the exercising for now and I wouldn't want you to hurt your self any more than you are already are.It is best to see what your doctor has to say. I hope that you will enjoy the christmas displays around your neighbor hood.

Caroline way to go on losing, you are our new weight loss queen. Good for you in getting your steps in with out even trying.

Heather am so glad that you had a great time and hope that you were able to get caught up with all of your do list and please don't over do it. I haven't touch the egg nog yet, am saving it for Christmas day and New year day. Was going to go to church tomorrow for christmas eve but they only have one service and the time that they are are it is kind of inconvinence so I don't know if I am going or not.Right now we have no pastor. Can you please give me the receipe for the egg nog cookies, think I will like to make them.

LeAnna hope that you are enjoying your time with your family and hope that it is not too over whelming for you and that you are feeling the love flow through your loves ones.

Michelle hope that you are feeling more like your self every day. and please don't feel that if you have gain weight that you can't come here as we are here for you and most of us are struggling one time or another and some of us already gain some weight back and that is ok we learn to forgive our selves and move on and we are not here to judge you as we love you and we care about you. Hope to see you back here on our team in the new year.

If I don't get back here before Christmas I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year. Think I might be going down to my best friend for new year eve and it all depends on my son wrestling and weather as they are suppose to be going away and don't know if my son will be going with them and if I can get in touch with the coach to let him know that my son might be missing practice on new year eve and new year day.Come the new year we will all be ready to get on board once again. emoticon Love you all. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hello Friends -

I had a great time yesterday - went to a Christmas party - and one of my friends drove down from Tampa for it and spent the night at our house - so DH was the DD and oh my did we have fun! My friend that had the party is so talented and puts on such an amazing spread. She had a dessert table that I told her looked like willy wonka-land!!!

My gf just left about an hour ago -and DH is off to work. I have much to cook, wrap and bake today. Right now I feel a bit like a zombie - we got home after 2 AM and Lordy, I just don't party like I used to!!! It was a much needed "change" from all I have been doing lately and a reminder that it's important to just be silly and have fun once in a while.

Now I will confess, Jan - I have stopped maintaining and am actively gaining. I made a batch of egg nog cookies and have eaten 3 already today! This is the first time I made them and probably SHOULD be the last - but the DH likes them too. I made them to fill out the pastry plates I am preparing (apricot stuffed pastries and mini-cranberry tarts). The Major wouldn't enjoy Christmas if he didn't get his mama's apricot pastries - now he has put on some weight but I swear if I didn't make them he would think I didn't love him - and we can't have that!! I do know it will be hard to "buckle down" when there are still treats in the house and I can't imagine this stuff will all be gone the day after Christmas so I am going to set my "sights" on January 1 and see if I can get rid of the holiday gain in 2 weeks before our friends arrive. Is it possible? I think "maybe" if I take bits and pieces of all the great plans you have laid out - including fasting again at least 1 day per week - maybe upping to 2 until I get this under control again.

Caroline - your tater bags sound intriguing - what are they made of? I use the microwave to bake potatoes to keep the kitchen cool - I put them in a container that has a little vent and it seems to work fine so I'm curious but don't want to have a nice way to warm rolls. That will possibly hinder my progress in January!

Sharon - I hope you are having a restful Sunday....and that you still have some egg nog left!!

LA ---- wondering how you are feeling about now - probably full of love - as it should be!!

Michelle -- hope you are feeling better and that you are enjoying this part of the holidays...stop by when you feel like it and let us know how you are - we miss you!

Heather -

Hey everyone
I went to STOPS and got another dollar...I now have 6 dollars in my blessing jar.
Lost only half a pound but still a steak of losing.
Both tops and stops will not be meeting for couple to three weeks...oh my!
I find I am already in the habit of keeping it cranked up every 3 days to the next meeting.
Today, I was looking toward Monday...we will not meet, but I will pretend we do.

It is cloudy here and dreary...not very motivating. I have gotten my 10 min. of metabolism
steps in, and guess what? Yesterday I got over 10,000 steps without trying. Most were
gotten at JCPenny as I had been given a coupon for ten dollars and walked that store
over and over trying to find something I wanted. I finally got dh a flannel shirt which he
needed...cost more than 10 but guess that is their plan all along!!! Also got Jakob a
remote control helicopter for indoors ???? which he will love and thank good ness my den
has those 18 ft. high ceiling so he can fly it.
I made some tater bags for my STOPS people and promised some to my TOPS people
so if anyone wants a tater bag with instructions, let me know. Free of charge.
They steam the best potatoes in the microwave...sweet taters too and rolls, or whatever.
email me here on sparks.

well, I am heading back to postoffice to see if they got any of the large priority boxes in
for Sharon's quilt...it appears those went fast this year and have not been resupplied.

Have a great week end and stay safe.

Caroline

Hi Gals,
I have to say it's great to see us all still at least caring about what we are taking in instead of shoveling the goods down and waiting until the new year to restart. It's hard but just staying at the weight we are and not gaining is emoticon !

Caroline: All I can say is WOW! That's pretty darn amazing. Congrats on going down the scales.

I havent' exercised except to take the dogs and now Abby has cut nails that she scrapped and is in her doggy buggy on walks. This Morning Heidi called and we walked about 4miles. Only thing is my Nike fuel band doesn't register it because my hands are on the carriage. Even with all the running around I did today it hasn't hit goal. Not going to get stressed over it though. Whats the point? Right?

Sharon…you and your Egg Nog…you got me on it now...lol. Sugar is still my arch enemy, and yes I'm still sinking my teeth into some every night. It's a small scoop of Hagen daz vanilla with a pour of Egg Nog over it and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
The good thing is I'm watching all the other things I'm eating and staying in the 150's. I really do need to lose at least 3lbs before xmas, because I plan on EATING! Enjoying all the forbidden fruits of a great Christmas Celebration.

LA: That's a lot of lot of People to entertain. You probably won't even be able to eat you'll be so busy. I guess that's a good thing. Just make sure you take it all in and enjoy it instead of stressing. Let others help (which I know is hard) but when someone asks what can they do…tell them. Even if it's mundane task it will keep everyone busy and out from under.

Heather: what can I say to you that you don't already know. Your going to have to force yourself to move away from your desk. Take a few minutes to stretch out and force your mind to a quiet place. Then when you return you'll feel refreshed and renewed. The work will always be there so the best you can do is manage your time well so you can get your work done and have time for some much needed me time. Love you girl.

That's about it for me, hope everyone is almost finished with their preparations and ready to relax and just take in the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas. Every Christmas Eve I drive the Dogs around and look at Christmas lights. Abby squeals with delight every time she see's lots of lights. Last year I took Nadine and her dog. Abby was still more delighted then anyone, but Nadine got such a kick out of her it was worth it. Talk about spoiled pups.

Take care and talk with all of you later.

One of the hardest decisions you'll make in life is whether to walk away or continue to try harder.

I wasn't up to doing my walk on Tues. and good thing I didn't because I end up shoveling and cleaning cars off before it got too dark. Yesterday did some work outs with dumb bells and went to my son wrestling match. Got to bed late last night. This Sat. my son have a tourament and will have to be at school by 7 so that means we have to leave the house by 6:30 am and he won't be home till 5. So I will do my walk in Walmart and do some last minute shopping even though I am finish with my christmas shopping maybe get what I want for christmas if I see any thing. Today am going to try my fasting and hope to be able to do it like I did on Mon. I am getting better as far as sugar goes and still have something if I want it and try not to go over board with it. I haven't had any thing to drink for seveal weeks now and I did buy some egg nog yesterday to enjoy over the holidays and figure to enjoy it over the holidays and come the new year time to get serious and because I am restarting food lover with a group of us on Jan. 2 and that means no alchol, no bread, no sugar and no weighing for 21 days as that is when it is more strict and after that you have more freedom. I am going to do it right this time.

Heather this is hard when people give us gifts as food and it is hard to resist the tempation. But new year is around the corner and time to start the new year right and fresh and a new beginning to all of us. So enjoy it now.

LeAnna you are sure are busy, wow 21 people staying at your house and to serve for. Kids are happy to camp out on the floor and you will all have a great time. Enjoy this time with your family. I remember when my sister was alive we had a big house full of people and similar to yours and we always enjoy the time together and it seems that since she died we don't do this any more. My sister was the one that kept our family together. I really miss those times that we spend with the family. After the holidays you are going to relax more as your health depends on it.

Am going to do my walk now inside my house for 30 minutes and then will have my smoothie with crystal light, oat meal and 1 egg white and for dinner will have grill chicken and salad with my fat burning dressing.

It has been below freezing here and can't believe that the temperature is going to be in the 60"s over the week end and it sure will melt alot of the snow that we have. this weather is really crazy.

Have a great day Just do the best that you can. emoticon

Hi y'all emoticon Everyone for getting your plans together before January.
I am actually starting to get excited about starting. It is like a gift I get to unwrap and I can hardly wait. I have not been as good as all of you. I decided to not feel guilt over the holidays. I don't stuff myself with anything but it is just too hard to not eat out right now. Jan, what you said about sugar really has to be true. If only I was deathly allergic to it, then maybe I would avoid it more. I am very allergic to peanuts and fresh cherries and I would never eat them on purpose, EVER. I WISH IT WAS THE SAME WITH SUGAR.

I am almost finished with wrapping the gifts for our family party Friday and Saturday. Everyone will be spending the night except for one family. We are expecting 21 people to be here!!! Not sure where I will put everyone but it will definitely be a blast. Tomorrow I will be cooking the gumbo and potato salad. I like to make that a day ahead. Then I will make the casseroles. By Friday noon I hope to have the house clean and everything cooked and ready including where everyone will sleep. Friday night we do gift exchange. I painted a set of three mixing bowls for the girls gift. Last year I did the same and our son stole it from our daughter. She was so mad! Ha ha. So she has another chance this year. Saturday we wake up and do Christmas gifts and then have traditional lunch food. I like to have my kids and grandkids here before Christmas. That way they can go to the in-laws or stay home on Christmas Day. Also, my husband and I can enjoy the real meaning of Jesus' birth in peace and quiet, going to Christmas Eve service on the 24th and then just relaxing on the 25th.

I may not get back on the computer until Saturday night. I hope everyone has a good night of rest. emoticon emoticon

Hi Team -

Finally done with work and got my pictures posted on FB - just in time to uhhhh go to bed??? Sheeeesh!! I'll post one on the team photos here - so you can see my handsome graduate!

Well today we got a big ol' delivery from Harry and David. My MIL must really love me (or hate me!!) Anyway that shot the healthy eating today - but I did make sure I got some good protein to balance all the "other stuff". Anyway I'm feeling pretty good - optimistic that this is just a holiday and not something that has to last a lifetime or even more than a month!!

Did I tell you we'll be having some friends come to stay for 3 weeks starting Jan 14? YEP!!!! I'm excited but also more determined than ever to draw a line in the sand for work so I don't experience total burnout.

We are going to a Christmas party on Saturday that will have a dessert TABLE. Oh yeah, and a poker table. Which one do you think I'll be buzzing like a fly around? My GF that is having the party made these awesome meatballs several years ago, and another friend told me they were "low fat" so I really enjoyed several. Well, when I asked her for the recipe, I realized my other friend was FULL OF IT!!! Too late. I'm going to try to behave until Saturday.

Caroline - I got the scrunchies and I've been wearing the multicolored one all day THANK YOU THANK YOU I really love them so much. You're the best.

Sharon - I'm glad you are headed down the scales. You're going to be back in the swing of things by the time January rolls around!

I've got to go. I need to get off this computer - it's been 12 plus hours today ---- too much!

My son have his 5th snow day. We are suppose to get 4- 6" of snow today. I am just so out of it today as it was after midnight by the time I got to bed. Don't know if I am going to do my walk today or not.

I am happy with the weigh in from my fast yesterday, am down 3 lbs and still need to lose 9 more to get below my ticker weight.

Jan I post the receipe for the fat burning dressing here so if any one will like to try it, it is list under recipes.

Have a great day every one. Am going to lay down for a while and maybe try to sleep if I can.

I made it today through my fast, and today was a little easier than last Thurs. as I just couldn't do it that day. I ate a little bit more for supper, I didn't bring my foods with me and ate at school at the wrestling concession stand. I had a very small bowl of goulash and it wasn't enough for me then I had some soup and hot chocolate. Now am having chamile tea.. Work out with weights today. Hope to see a lost tomorrow. Yesterday I ate very little but had a little more carbs and today was up a lb.

Jan good for you in getting in your walk with the dogs and enjoy your day. The fat burning dressing should be in the recipe that I post. It is made with olive oil, lemon juice and apple cider vingar and season of your choice. 1/4 cup of apple cidar vingar.2 tbs of lemon juice 1 tbs of olive oil, I use mince garlic and season of my choice such as garlic, pepper. This is part of food lover plan.

Caroline good for you in getting 8,000 with out even trying and losing a lb. Now you are losing as long you are moving in the right direction you now understand the logic of losing weight and is now getting the hang of it. Way to go.

Have a great evening. Off to bed I go. emoticon

I'm glad to see everyone is getting an actually some are doing their plan for 2014 right now.
No better time than the present to make plans we can all stick to. This has been a pretty good year for all of us…maybe for some like me a learning year so that better choices will be made for 2014 AND get the real Monkey off our backs…excess weight. Today I'm jump starting with a juice fast, after last week I really need two days of this to clear my system. It won't be weight loss it will be clearing my body of excess water and toxins from all the sugar we ate.

Sharon? what is fat burning dressing. Can we use your recipe? I would love to try it.

Walked the dogs about two miles to pick up some alterations at the cleaners and then walked back. It was nice and cool outside when we started out and then the sun came out and by the time I reached the house it was warm and beautiful out. Have some light errands to do and then the housekeepers will be here, so I'll take the dogs to the park and let them run around.

Everyone have a great day. Keep on keeping on.

LA, No, I am not motivated by the Tops groups...not when I can beat them all with half a pound.
they are totally unmotivated and waiting for January. I have kinda motivated them.
The only reason I am going is to be accountable twice a week, evenly spaced. I do not have
time to cheat and get back on track. I love being accountable twice a week. In person...on the
scales. Sparks is fine, but just for me, I need in person time.

My plan for 2014

Keep doing what I am doing. Even if it just half a pound, then it will surely add up over the
months ahead. (I am hard to lose weight and keep it off)

The number 1 thing that helps and motivates me is being active at getting rid of negative energy. If I get some monkeys off my back I feel lighter and not dragged down.
Two things with the scales help me.
1. seeing the scales go down....wow. what energy from that. Happy day for me.
2. seeing the scales go so high that it scares the laziness out of me.
In between keeps me in limbo.

1. drink at least 4 glasses water...they hold 32 oz. each...I do this so it not a challenge.
2. start my day with 10 min. walking to blast my motabolism. It really works...plus there
is 1000 steps.
3. get 6-7000 steps a day and 7 is the challenge.
4. do at least one monkey off my back...or at least start push him down a bit.
5. keep the carbs down to either brown rice, or beans. Not more than twice a week...this is a challenge.
6.watch the salt intake, but not give it up completely.
7.eat 4 cups veggies a day...this is a challenge...I generally make it to two.
8.If it is a special time that calls for eating otherwise, I will do it but in moderation.

Going to the dollar store after while to get me a cheap metal tape measure.
Hope to get some steps in.

Everyone have a great week and it sounds like we all have a plan and now let us resolve to
stick to it.
God bless.

Good morning friends

It is great to see every one here except for Michele, Hope that you are taking it easy and hope that you are feeling better every day and soon you will be feeling back to yourself again.

I just called motor vechicle for my son road test and he is schedule for Jan. 21st at 2:00 pm.but think he will be taking it at the school sooner than the 21st. He still need to get 3 more hours of practice with the school if the driver instructor is ever there.

I am still hurting from shoveling on Sat. and today am trying to fast again and see what happens. Will be busy helping out with the cookies for fundraiser, watching my son in his concert and wrestling.

Here is my new 2014 Plan
1) follow food lover close as possible
2) try to drink more water
3) work out with dumb bells 2 times a week
4) walk at least 3 times a week
5) do zumba once a week
6) try to be less stress.and relax more
7) will attempt to try fasting once or twice a week and see if I can do it.

Am going to have my smoothie, made with crystal light, 1/2 cup of oat meal and one egg white and later will bring my chicken and salad with fat burning dressing with me. Then do my work outs with the dumb bells.

Have a great day every one. Just do the best that you can. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi Everyone,
Sorry to be so lame and not get here, but it looks like you have all been posting and doing well.

Heather: Congrats to your son Gabriel! (which by the way is an awesome name!) I'll take a look at your pictures as soon as I leave here. I hope there posted. I hope you got that sugar monkey off your back…I just read and then heard on a program that Sugar!!! is one of the leading causes of Dementia. SUGAR spells "poison" in a way that everyone should get on board with. It's more than enough for me...I haven't had a sliver of sugar…oh wait…I had quite a few at the baby shower high Tea…Heidi and I were very busy deciding between our champagne or those precious nuggets of chocolate heaven…sigh…well another day I will also get the "Monkey off my back" (just wasn't' yesterday…lol)

LA: I'm Here, I'm here!
I can't tell you how much relief it is to hear you sounding so well. Yes I do believe in the power of prayer and obviously it worked. As they say God only gives us as much as we can handle and you obviously reached out in desperation and he heard you. So Thank you to God for giving you relief.
Your personal plan sounds so good I'm copying it and pasting it for my own. Well maybe not the writing part (though yours sound very intriguing)b Who knows…I might include some of that as well. Just so happy your feeling better. Makes my heart skip happily for you.

Sharon: Don't worry about fasting…stick to what you do best and that's obviously your food lovers plan. I'm glad you have a group to do it with. I'm also thrilled your going to be enjoying one of Caroline's warm and cozy quilts. I have my own favorite quilt (all white) and it's like a grown up blanky to me. Washed so many times and yet more beautiful than ever. Maybe even better! Enjoy my friend.

Caroline: You are and probably have always been one of the kindest and sweetest women I am most likely to meet. I'm hoping this summer we will all be able to meet in person and really get a chance to know each other even better. I love your kind heart and warm personality. You may no longer decorate for the holidays but your kindness lights up the world brighter than any artificial light could possibly do.

Michelle: I miss you here and hope your doing well. In fact I'm hoping you might stop by sometime and let us know how you are doing and how your "babies" are.

Well as you know I drove Nadine and her daughter (my BFF) Heidi to SanFrancisco yesterday. It was so crazy downtown SF. It was like being in New York with smaller streets. Crazy but we managed to find Valet parking $60!!! and it was worth every penny.
The Tea was lovely. A little Champagne to start with a fresh chicken broth and tiny biscuit. Little pots of our chosen tea (fresh brewed loose tea) and then placed in front of us where the little stacked caddies of goodies…mini tea sandwiches and of course scones and petite chocolate confections. Oh MY!!! lol. We were starving! and yet because everything was spaced out I was stuffed eating just a little and enjoyed my tea. 14 of us chatted like old friends and everyone enjoyed their bags of goodies I had made for each of us. I'll post some pictures soon. Like Heather…it may take a day or two. So much still going on.

Although I'm not dieting right now…I'm really watching what I'm eating. Eating well is a priority right now and keeping any fat or unnecessary sugar out of my mouth is plenty.
I want to stay at my 159 until the new year so that I can concentrate on getting into the 140's and beyond. I have kept off my 20lbs this year and that's a big achievement in itself.
emoticon So I'm happy I've found a new weight goal and not stuck in the 180's 170's, or even the 160's…and I'm never going back there! Well…I hope not anyways. Onward and downward I go!

Talk with everyone later. emoticon emoticon Night.

One of the hardest decisions you'll make in life is whether to walk away or continue to try harder.

It's a fact Jack!

Heather I can't wait to go check FB for the photos. I am so happy for your son. What a great accomplishment. You did really good momma!!! I know it was hard on you being a single parent for so long but it has certainly paid off. When is your England company coming? My writing project... Well, I wrote a 365 day inductive devotional a few years ago.
Now, I need to create topical study books from that manuscript. I will be starting with the Fruit of the Spirit. The other writing project is a book by me, my daughter and my adopted daughter about the adoption of our first grandson. It will be called BORROWING JACOB. there is a link on my SP page if you would like to go listen to our story online.

Sharon, I can't imagine who you are shoveling all that snow. When we lived in Alaska, I would shovel when my husband was gone every other week. It worn me out! And I was YOUNG. Please let your men do that and don't over do it! I know you like the Food Lovers so I am glad you are making a plan. I hope we all get our minds ready for weight loss and exercise come January. It is only a couple weeks away! - And I am very glad!

Caroline, you make me want to stay home and start sewing again. I just love everything about it--from choosing the pattern, to fabric, to thread, etc. I used to make almost all my own clothes. Now I don't even own a sewing machine! I hope you are the biggest loser again at TOPS. So you think it is the new group that has inspired you? What is it about the group that made the difference for you?

Jan, where are you woman? I'm back and you are gone LOL. Ok. We can take turns emoticon

Michelle--still MIA... emoticon

LeAnna Praise God and am so happy to hear that all your tests came back normal and that you are ok. You have the right attitude and happy to hear that you also have a plan. It is best to have a plan and if you don't plan you will fail.

Heather Glad that you had a great time in Tampa, and congrats to your son and you are sure a proud mama.

We got close to a foot of snow here, as it was snowing all day yesterday, while it slow down decide to go out there and clean off two cars and shovel driveway so it won't be too much to do when the snow stops today. I was out there almost 4 hours and finally in the last hour my son came out. I clean the car off twice and did the driveway twice and was almost finish, then it really start snowing very heavy and I gave up went in the house. Took something for pain before I went to bed. This morning am in so much pain and can't even move or walk, Think I over did it yesterday. Told my son this morning that I will not be shoveling today so while my son was shoveling I clean off the two cars once again. Then my husband came down to help my son do the rest of the driveway as my son had wrestling practice this after noon as their wrestling match got cancel yesterday. When we got home, we had to make cookies for tomorrow for my son marching band christmas concert and for our fundraiser. Plus my son is doing his christmas concert and the wrestling match at the same time, so we will see how that goes lucky they are both at school.

I have my plan set up for the new year. There is a group of us restarting food lover on Jan. 2 and I have join that group. Am thinking of trying out online food lover free trail for 21 days to see if I am making my meals a fat loss plate. If I like the online food lover then I will have to pay $4.99 a week. Am back into doing my exercise and working out. I am starting out very slowly as I haven't done any thing since Jan. I am getting on the right track and little by little am getting better with my foods and binging. Think my fitbit is on it way out as since I have been working out and feel that the steps is really off and should of been more, so I think this week will wear a pedometer along with my fit bit and compare my steps with both of them. As it crack in two places and I tape it up and so far it is still working but for how long I don't know.

I finally finish writing out my Christmas cards on Fri. and need to get to the post office and get them out, this week will start wrapping up gifts before my son gets out of school on Fri. for Christmas break.

Tomorrow have to call motor vehicle to schedule an appointment for my son to take the road test. He was going to take it with the school and every time my son was suppose to have practice driving with the instructor he was never there as he miss 3 practice because of that and one time my son miss practice as he wasn't feeling too good that day. He will be taking his road test what ever comes up first either with the school or M.V. in six weeks.

Am off to bed now, hope to get some decent sleep. Have a great evening every one.

Hello Team -

LA what a blessing for you - and for us - it's great to see you posting! Please tell about your writing project...what are you doing, or feeling led to do?

Caroline, you are beyond sweet! It's a good thing we don't get fatter knowing you :) hahaha. I can't wait for Sharon to get your quilt!! You are so talented. Oh yes, my hair wants your scrunchies too; but no worries on when you mail them - my hair isn't going anywhere!

We had a great time in Tampa visiting family and participating in the wonderful graduation of my son Gabriel. I am going to post some pics on FB later today. I am so proud of him, and also happy to be able to spend time with all 3 of my sons together, and Bob's son in Tampa also also joined us for the dinner after the ceremony. We got home around midnight last night. Bob was off to work early this morning and it started raining so that was my queue to stay home from church today - or get drenched trying to get there! It's ok - my house is screaming for attention and I'm just going to get a slow start today and do what I can. There is a tree that needs "trimming" and lots and lots of stuff to tidy up and organize. Wish me luck!!

I'm totally on board for making some large strides in the new year. LA your plan sounds perfect. You will lost a lot doing that, but you will have to have your mind ready too, and it sounds like you are working on that. I want to make some serious stride in the first 3 months of the new year too. I have to make it work for me though. We will have friends coming from England to stay for I'm not sure how long, at least 2 or 3 weeks though. So I know we will be doing things out of our routine. If I can get the sugar monkey off my back, I'm sure I can make everything else work for me in moderation. I don't have much to go, just the bit I've added since my vacations and then a little more to get to goal. I want to get back into regular exercise too.

Have a wonderful day friends.

Hello sweet friends! Please forgive me for not being here more. I promise the new year will be different for me. I am already getting my attitude ready for a change. Thank you emoticon ALL so much for the prayers. I know that God really fixed my problem. One day last week, I told God I would be sure to stay home more and to write again if he would please just heal me. I know that is what He was asking me to do. The next day, my "issue" cleared up. After 6 weeks--GONE. I KNOW IT WAS DUE TO PRAYER. thank you all for your love and prayers. Yesterday I went for results of all the tests. All was normal. The doctor had no reason for the troubles I have had. All I can say is thank God! So now, I am back. I have never felt better. It was like night and day--literally. Tomorrow is our church elder/staff Christmas party I am bringing a gluten free German Chocolate Cake I made tonight. Monday is our ladies group Christmas party. I am making the company pot roast recipe from Ina Garten on Food Network. I love my traditional one, but a friend made this recipe last year for me and it was amazing. Heather, so happy for you and Bob. What an improvement. I know this will make a difference for a variety of reasons! Hope your headache is gone! Michelle, how are you? We miss you. Caroline, you are so very thoughtful to make a quilt for our sweet Sharon!!! I hope you realize how loved you are Sharon! God bless you, Caroline! Jan, thank you so much for your prayers and for your sweet encouragement. I sure needed it! I have a plan for January What do you all think? It sounds very ALL to me. I don't want to fail, but I do know if I don't make a plan, nothing will happen. Here it is;
1. Work out on elliptical at least 20 minutes daily
2. Drink 8 cups of water a day
3. Eat 5 mini meals (MT friendly) per day
4. Don't eat after 7pm
5. Fast 2 times a week AND pray
6. Make it to SP at least 4 times per week (preferably every day :-)
7. Get 8 hours sleep daily
8. Work on my writing project 3 days per week
9. Stay home and rest more!!!!

Hey everyone,
I got $3.00 at "Stops" last night!! which means I lost 1.5 lb. Now I did get mixed up.
We get 2 dollars for each pound. Well, a man got $40.00...yes he lost 20 in a week
due to fluid build up. We were happy to give it to him as he is a heart surgery patient
and just so glad he was there to get it and get all that extra fluid out of him.

Just finished mopping and noticed I need to ride my trolly around the baseboards again
and I think it is because of all the "flooring" that happened last month. Ugh!! not now.

I get my boy after school and take him home very early in the morning.
We will make snowmen out of rice crispies and decorate them...a kit...and he can give
one each to his mom's beau's 2 kids.

Heather, going to post office today Lord willing. (smile)
Sharon, I have a nice warm quilt for you when ever I finish the last thread. Sorry it took
so long. You get under it and stay warm when you go out to shovel snow. loL

Love you all and please love yourselves.

Caroline

Good morning every one

I tried to do my fast yesterday, couldn't do it as it was hard for me, was really hungry and over tired, Just being over tired has a lot to do with what happens the rest of the day, just gave in and kind of went on a binge plus I was out pretty much most of the day. Today am up another lb. Am back on track today. I have so much to do and still haven't done any thing yet because I really don't have the energy.

We are suppose to get up to 8" of snow tomorrow. My son might have practice on Sun. and it all depends on weather, as we might not be going any where.

Have a great day and a great week end every one. love you all.

Good morning every one

Heather please don't let the holidays stress you out and just do the best that you can and as far other stuff if it don't get done so be it.as it is not worth it I am not bothering with Christmas too much this year, as I just don't have the energy and am just not motivate and feel why bother putting up tree and decorations when I am the only one doing all the work and no one appreciate it any way So that is one less thing I have to deal with.
Glad that your husband is working at a job that is doable for him now and that he likes the people he work with as that is important and make a big difference from day to day.
Hope that you feel better soon.

Caroline you are still doing great and hope that you will win this week.

I am still keeping up with my exericise and working out and some days don't feel like it or have no energy and am not trying to slack off as I just got back into it two weeks ago, so I push my self to do it. The 2 lbs I lost on my fast Mon. I gain that back today and today is my fast day. Will give a fast couple of weeks to see if this is for me or not and will see what happens. The story of my life, when I lose, I gain. and just wish that it will stay off.
My son will have driving today and also his first home wrestling match. So I will be going to bed late tonight as I have to go shopping on the way home to pick up some things for my husband.

We are suppose to get more snow this week end, possible 6" or more and they cancel the wrestling match on Sat.

LeAnna and Michele hope that you are feeling a little bit better.

Jan where are you, as it is not like you to be away. Hope that you are doing ok. Still taking it easy.

Have a great day every one. Just do what you can.

Hey everyone,
Heather, hope you do not stress too much. This is a bad time of year to have to work so hard.

Sharon, you stay warm...I worry about you.

I kinda let this genealogy take back over my life and I must not allow that to happen again.
It means a lot of sitting. But I did get 7000 steps yesterday.
I just wanted to clean out the papers from before computers and input all that into a computer.

Tonight is "stops" nite and if I have lost a pound I get a dollar....yall think good thoughts
that I will. I did not weigh this morning as I ended up eating breakfast and did not weigh first
and so I do not know how to compare apples with oranges.???huh?

Today is going through the house putting things in order here and there. I am a messer.

LA, please let us know how you are. We love you.
God bless all

Caroline

Hello Team

I want you to know I am so busy with work, then as soon as I finish my darling DH wants to do Christmas stuff, yesterday he unpacked 2 cupboards of decorations onto the kitchen counters for me to "decorate" - well it's still sitting there! We had to go to the store and I didn't finish working until 7 ish. So this has been my week. The house looks like a disaster area as he keeps pulling stuff out!!! My focus right now is on this weekend. Tomorrow I have off work, we are going to Tampa to see my youngest son graduate (with honors!!) from college (USF) with a BA in business. We are having a dinner afterwards (on Sunday) at some fancy italian restaurant and then coming home. Friday night we are staying at my dad's house so we are taking up his little gift of Christmas too.

I have a headache this morning, a new colleage called in sick this week and I have to cover for her. One of my bosses is off all next week and I have to cover for him. I have 3 vacation days left but can't take them until he comes back....2 will be after Christmas :( Oh well. I'm sure there will be plenty to clean up and put away!!!! So it's been a challenge for me to say the least.

On the UPSIDE - DH is working at a store 1/2 a mile from the house now. He is also working mostly days!!! This has been great because there is hope for him in getting more sleep and being on a more regular schedule. He also seems to like the people he is working with now.

Food, diet, exercise? All seem to be on the back burner. I remember last year I was happy at the small gain of Christmas but I didn't do anything about it in January except TALK!!! So yes, Caroline I hope we get our spark in January! AND Caroline I am SOOOOO proud of you sweeping the wins at your local tops!! Take it!!!! I'll bet you'd love to be on site too where the digs are happening - I will have to google that because I love that kind of stuff!! I haven't heard anything about that.

Sharon - I'm sorry your DH/Son's motives were selfish but at least the stuff got done. Let them do more of that! I'm glad you were off the hook for shoveling. Good job on the fast too.

Gotta go - not sure I'll be back here before Sunday but I'll try.

Heather -

Hey everyone,
Well, I had a no cheat day yesterday with a no carb plan...900+- calories, 7000+ steps
and cleaned out the fridge in the mud room...the freezer, the door and the refridge.
I had to take everything out and wash it inside, so it was some exercise going on.
Wanted to do the one in the kitchen today but we need to go to Sams not my fav thing
to do, but I will put on my support tennis shoes and get lots of steps in there I hope.
I have cooking a pot of turkey soup going with chopped cabbage and lots of veggies...it will be a red...tomatoey...soup. So that when we get home there will be something healthy to eat.

It was freezing here this a.m. but sorta sunny.

I pray for a new spark to hit all of our team by the first of the year.
Lets go team.
Love you guys and hope all are doing ok.

Caroline

emoticon Caroline emoticon emoticon It is all the walking that you are doing really helps. Keep it up girl.

Heather the main reason why my guys help with the shoveling, not to help me but to benfitted them selves, as my son want to go to wrestling practice and my husband needs more beer. Another snow day today and that is 4. We are suppose to get up to 3" today and my son have wrestling practice this after noon and will check driveway later if it is slippery we won't be going any where.

I survive my first fast yesterday, it was really rough as I was hungry all day but I did it. Am happy with the results this morning am down 2 lbs. and as of today I lost 10 lbs still need to lose 8 more to get back to my ticker weight and to show that I am losing again. I am moving in the right direction emoticon This morning woke up with a headache, my muscles and my joints are hurting me more today than yesterday. During the night the hunger went away. That was sure a big jump for me eating every 3 hours to having 5-6 meals to not eating all day and only having two meals up to 500 calories. Will do again either tomorrow or Thurs and will try to keep up with it. I just wish that it will give me some energy like some of you are having when you are doing this. Am planning of going to the doctor after the holidays as supplements are not working for me as I still feel the same. I really don't want to have to start taking medications but I guess I will have to and it all depends on what is going on with me. As I want my life back and start having motivation to do things.

Am going to do my walk to Leslie Sanone and try to rest before I will have to start shoveling later. Have a great day every one and lets keep doing what we are doing our best to try to reach our goals. That will be awesome if we can reach our goals in 2014.

Maybe you haven't reached all your goals yet-but who has? And maybe you've made a few mistakes along the way-but who hasn't? You have every reason to feel proud of who you are. Notice your triumphs, big and small. There are so many.

woo hoo time!!

who was the best loser tonight.....and got all the quarters each has to put in the kitty for
the best loser? Yes, me!! ....1/2 # won it....lol...

Can yall believe that? Somebody is not trying.

I have lost every weigh in since starting my new tops. I have a streak going...yay!

That is not much, but it was also going through two, yes two, Thanksgiving dinners with
all the leftovers.

Have a great even. Been hunting ancestors today and guess what I found?
Archeologists have dug up the remains of my Butler estates...think Rhett...over at
Charlestown, S.C. Oh how I would love to be there. The dish pieces, pottery and foundations
that go back to 1672.

Hi every one

Another snow day today that the schools were close and that is 3 already and it is not even winter yet. We did get 6" Fri. into Sat. nothing last night but every thing is nothing but ice and my driveway looks like a skating rink. We are suppose to get up to 3" tomorrow. I did pick up the book on i. f. Sat. at the library and read it Sat. and Sun. Today is my first day of fasting. Can't believe how hungry I have been all day. Had my smoothie this morning with crystal light, oat meal and 1 egg white, nothing else during the day except water and green tea. Right I am eating salad with the fat burning dressing and a grill chicken. Hope that I will be happy with my weigh in tomorrow. Will do this again either Wed. or Thurs and try again every week. I did so some weight training this morning. Am now going on my 2nd week of working out and doing good I was trying to sleep and read all day so I don't think about being hungry. I guess it does get easier as the time go by. How do the rest of you deal with the hunger? Will have a cup of chamolie tea before I go to bed, hoping that it will help me sleep.

Caroline glad that you enjoy your time with your family and that you are doing good. That plant sure looks different with those colors and it looks beautiful. I have a plant that I got last christmas and when I got it it was all red and now it is just green waiting for it to turn red.

Heather good for you in taking some time off, sorry to hear that the store was close.

Just finish my dinner and am going to lay in my bed and read my woman world and go to bed early and hope to get some deep sleep tonight as I really need it. Went back to using my sleep apnea machine last week and will stay with it for another week to see if it makes any difference but so far it is not.

Have a great evening every one. Hi to everyone else and am thinking of you and emoticon

Hello Team -

Caroline I love that pic of your beautiful, unique poinsettia! I've never seen that color either. I'd love one for my front garden - if I ever get to venture out of this house I will have a look! Please NO rush at all on the scruchies!! Only asked because you offered, I can wait forever...

Yesterday I was able to get out for a while and by the time we go to the "special" grocery store I wanted to shop at - they were closed!! 8pm on Sunday night. Alrighty then. Guess that was a message loud and clear! I am fasting today and hoping to eat just protein a little veggie, no carb and only enough sugar to avoid a headache between now and Saturday. My youngest called this morning to see if we wanted to go out on Friday night for dinner as well. I was able to say "no" and I'm glad. Currently, we have the 14th and 21st off any sort of plan, then there will be at least 3 baking/cooking days that will be off plan (because I taste while I bake - how else can in turn out so great???) So that will be 5 days before the 25th. There are also a couple of church events in between there that I would LOVE to attend. One is centered around chocolate. If I make either of those - that tells you the story - I really HAVE to be good in between! DH just got a new smoker and is talking about "seasoning" the new smoker before we cook the salmon for Christmas morning - and he wants to do it with hamburgers!! So there is another one. It seems to be I MUST be very strict with myself and then relax when these things come up - because I am not being a bad girl at home. I've gotten very lax so I have to start somewhere.

I feel totally exhausted today and that is the truth. Hoping that once the hunger kicks in from fasting I will get a jolt of energy - that is usually the way my body works.

LA - please let us know how the tests come out. I am praying for your health.

Sharon I am doing a happy dance that the MEN in your life shoveled your freeking driveway. Lordy. (((HUGS)))

Jan - loved the doggie video - your so talented! Turn your focus on you and making yourself PROUD of sticking to a plan that will make you happy until the new year ok?

Got to scoot - see you later gators!!

Heather -

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. - Carl Jung

Hey everyone,
Doing good, just a lot to do. I am finding the more I push myself to walk, the better
I feel. At first my knees rebelled, but now not so much.
Had company....thanksgiving again with my son and sister...somust get caught
back up.
Have a great week.
Heather, I gave your scrunchies away. I know. But I have been flipping my hands fast
and furious and have two more made already. My daughter took two and I discouraged
her taking both but she took it (not knowing it was promised) so that made me feel good
that she wanted them as she picky. Then my sister daughter got one, and other daughter
got the other one. So, I will mail them the end of week no later...lol....I figured I would not
see some of the people again for awhile, and I could still get yours to you this week.
Please forgive and be happy others liked them.

It is raining and has been overcast over a week now. I thankful it not snowing.
Take care, Sharon, and be safe on those snowy roads.

Oh
Jan, I do not decorate for christmas since we do not do christmas. I use to go crazy with
it but no longer. I do not mind others doing it, but I just have a conscience toward not
sharing God's glory with a pagan holiday. Jesus was not born at this time, but He may
have been conceived about this time.
I do buy poinsettia for the challenge of seeing if I can get it to live through the summer.
Usually by Christmas again they look pitiful.
I have a wonderful yellow-gold-orange one I got before thanksgiving. Never saw one like
this before. Gorgeous. I will send pic of it but it has faded somewhat after more than a
month having it.

Caroline

Jan Too bad that we don't live closer to each other, I would of been happy to give you one of my tress, as I have two. plus two small ones, I won't be putting my tree up this year, with the way I have been feeling, tired, no energy, and figure why bother as no one appreciated it any way and I am stuck doing all the work decide not to bother. Today was my lucky day, I didn't shovel for once as my husband and my son did all the shoveling, which I am grateful and so glad, but I did clean off the 2 cars.

Have a great evening. HUGS

Today I'm just coming by to say Hi! I really don't have much going on here as I now have to wait until the Eve of Christmas for my Dr Visit. I did go to exercise class but it's not a good thing. I hoped that with rest it would be ok but it's stiff and swelling so I'm just going to have to bite the bullet on this one and concentrate on diet. Maybe that's a good thing which I've been lacking focus on.

LeAnna I too hope everything will turn out ok. It's a scary thing to have to wait for results and tests. Use this time to give yourself the gift of rest and eating well. This is the time for some comfort foods like soups that won't put extra weight on but will give you that warm inside feeling. I pray (and I really do) that things will set themselves right in your health. Please don't ever feel you have nothing to say. Just being here is enough. Let us be your leader's and help you to be able to come here and get our support. Love you. emoticon

Heather: You know you have to give yourself a break to just say "this is MY time". It's hard when you have so much on your plate, but 20minutes of meditation or a quite place to sit and have a cup of tea or even (dare I say) a glass of wine at the end of the day may be all you need to refresh yourself. I hope this year will see us through and we can at least get to a place where we feel less desperate to lose. I've personally kept off 15lbs and am making it my goal to keep another 5 off for the beginning of the year. Full on success has eluded me but not my spirit to continue into next year.

Michelle: If your reading this…know we are all thinking of you and hope to see a post just letting us know how your doing.

Sharon: I hope your not overdoing it with shoveling. If your son is strong enough for wrestling he surely must be strong enough to help you. I say if he wants to get to wrestling it's the least he can do. Sorry to be so opinionated here…just sayin...

Caroline: I want to see pictures of your home all decorated for the Holidays. We decorated for Hanukkah (which ended Dec 5th) and I want to get out my outside Christmas decorations put together. I'm late this year because of Hanukkah.
I no longer have a Christmas tree (I gave all my christmas treasure away before moving here) Joe wanted a Christmas tree every year, but he never celebrated the season as a Christian and never gave gifts, so I'm not sure why he wanted it. We now celebrate Christmas at Heidi's house with the kids and all the blessing that go with it. Much more special.

It's a Doggy Christmas at our house with Stockings (Lulu knows what they are and freaks out when she sees them hung on Christmas morning) I added a link from a few christmas's ago, Lulu trying to keep Soleli's stocking instead of her own...if you want to see it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-15qB3NobCY&

Good morning friends

We got over 6" of snow last night and am getting ready to go out there to clean off cars and shovel the drive way as my son have wrestling practice this afternoon. So that will be my exercise for the day.

Heather hope that you will get some time away from work to do things for your self as you need time to relax and focus.

LeAnna hoping and praying for you that every thing will be ok. Please don't feel that you have nothing to offer us, as we love you and am so glad that you are our leader, as you are an awesome person who I have the pleasure of knowing you and really can't wait to meet you this summer as well as every one else. Keep coming here so we can offer you support when you need it the most.

Caroline guess your son is now spending the time with you, enjoy your week end and your time with him.

Jan hope that your leg is feeling a little bit better. I have been away from exercising and working out for 9 months and just start getting back with it and taking it slow and easy, try to work through my pain and if certain exercise or movement affect me I won't do it.

Michele just want to say I am thinking of you and hope that every thing will go well with your surgery and soon you will be feeling more like your self again. Miss you

Am getting ready to go out and do what I have to do and put my long johns on as it is really cold out there. Have a great day and a great week end. Love you all. emoticon

Hello girlfriends. Just caught up reading your posts. I feel so bad for being away so long. I just feel I have nothing to give you right now. I am staying at same weight and fasting twice a week. I saw the gastroenterology doctor today. The biopsies are not back yet but when I told him I still have terrible diarrhea even when fasting, he turned and faced me and looked concerned. He now has me scheduled for a CT scan of abdomen and esp my pancreas Tuesday at 9am. I also went for more blood work today. I just want to be normal again!
I love you all tons. I hope to have good news soon.

Jan, take care of your beautiful legs. Follow your instincts. Do you need surgery? I think I missed something.

Sharon, your son will be grown soon! Hang in there Moma!

Heather, girl slow down a bit. Smell the Florida flowers. I want to walk again. Praying it is soon!

Caroline, I hope you post photos of your new bedroom transformation. Oh how I want to do that this spring! I've had the same look for NINE YEARS!

Michelle, how are you??

Well hitting the hay girls. Hugs and lots of love, LA

Hello Team -

Just time for a quickie ~giggling~

So much to do this time of year.

Sharon it stinks when you post a big ol' long feeling, personal post and then POOF! I'm glad you are getting focused where you need to be to work your plan with your own limitations and do it so that you don't feel so deprived it takes months to get back on track. We are all behind you and we all KNOW you are a winner (loser winner!) Your post warmed my heart. Love your knees and respect their cries for relief. You don't have to "tough" anything out. You must learn to be kind and gentle to yourself - this is something we ALL have to learn. I am very hard on myself. I think I give myself headaches sometimes! (((HUGS)))

Jan - yes you and your "girls" full on!! You bet I was laughing. You are a precious gift that is meant to be shared!!!

Caroline, those were just ideas - do not feel you must fill every color wish!! I want to borrow you over the holidays - - you seem to do so well on the home front and I am just frankly overwhelmed at this point. Just doing what I can (after a 10-12 hour workday)......

Trying to keep in the spirit of Christmas which is Joy, Love, Hope, Faith and Peace....did I miss anything? Didn't eat near enough yesterday so I made up for it already today - that's not diet talk - just the plain truth! ha.

Have a great Friday! My favorite day of the work week!!!!

Hey everyone,
Sharon, I love how you are talking right now!
I feel the positive vibes...do the rest of you feel them?
Send more, send more. All that exercising...you go girl!!

I am no carbing today. They have a challenge at my old tops...from here on out to differentiate
between the two I will call this one "stops" instead of "tops". For every pound lost in Dec. you get $2. It is not about the money as I always return money that comes in from other places
as blessing money. BUT, I love a challenge when you are handed the reward no matter how
small. Some in my group can drop four in a week. Yall know I have a hard time doing that.
I am taking the rest of the week as a South Beach week and tracking every morsel.

My son comes tonight and I am happy to have him come. I just hate to have to do Thanksgiving all over again. He did not get to come.

I am in withdrawal as our DISH network went out and they are coming to fix it this a.m.
I mostly look forward to news first thing in morning and I love Larkrise on Friday evenings.

I have my bedskirt finished, and pillows and oh my did it pull it all together. I will get dh
to put me up a curtain rod and I will get some toppers up at the window to match. Nothing
fancy because I see myself changing out again come spring.

LA still praying for you. I hope you are ok.

Heather, the scrunchies are adding up. Going through my supplies and see how many
colors I can get that match yours. So far I have the Lilac, cream, and denim colors made up.

Have a great week end

I had a long post yesterday about how I am doing, personals for every one, lost internet connection had to disconnect every thing, turn the surge switch off and wait a few minutes, hook every thing back up and turn the switch on and finally got internet connection back but lost my post and didn't feel like redoing it over again.

Am still doing pretty good on my plan, not 100% maybe 95% and the other 5% will have some thing if I want it in moderation, not to be deprived as this is my lifestyle change. Am ok with this. Am doing better. I have done my exercises and work out for 3 days already, will do zumba today pushing through my pain. Certain exercise I can't do as it bother my knees too much so I try not to do those. I think this time around will probably will reach my goal or near to it. How ever long it will takes. I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. A person has to be ready to do this as it will not work if you are not mentally ready.

My son was suppose to take the road test yesterday in school, but he doesn't have enough practice time as they want at least 6 hours of practice time with the school and he only have 2 hours in and did practice yesterday now need 3 more hours, he probably won't take the road test till after New Year. He is not too happy about this and think this happen for a reason, personally I feel that he is not ready yet.

Today I was suppose to bring him to school for wrestling practice before school starts, he was suppose to be there at 6:15 and I refuse to take him, as I feel that this is ridiculous and it end up that he stayed home from school today as he doesn't feel good, He have score throat, stuff up nose and a cold. This is what I was afraid of happening when he does wrestling with the flu season and being in close body contact and we have been trying to tell him this and you just can't get it through to him as he thinks he knows it all.

I have to sign off as I have to call the school to let them know that my son won't be in today. Have a great day and a great week end. We are suppose to get hit with snow over the week end.

Maybe you haven't reached all your goals yet-but who has? And maybe you've made a few mistakes along the way-but who hasn't? You have every reason to feel proud of who you are. Notice your triumphs, big and small. There are so many.

Sorry I didn't get back here yesterday. I posted my dogs pictures on Facebook from a few Christmas's ago. One of my friends in Palm Springs said she would love to have that card for her dog. I told her to send me her dog "Leisels" picture and she did.

A few hours later I removed my Lulu and added her german shepherd "Leisel:. She loved it and even fixed the santa hat, adding a floppy snowball at the end. I love photoshop and doing all kinds of crazy things with it. The possibilities are endless in manipulating photos or restoring old antique photos that are torn and full of spotting. I did it with all my grandparents photos, my dads and used them in a video for my father before he passed. My Uncle loved it so much I made on for him as well. It's a better tribute to do things while people are still with us then to wait until its too late to appreciate them.

Heather: Your the true Angel. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't introduced me to this fabulous team of special ladies. I hope you know how much it means to me. I really rather shy until I get to know people then I'm full on as you know now. lol

Hey everyone
Still drinking my smoothies....doing great with them. My calories were up to about 1500
yesterday, but that is ok. Today they will drop a bit down.
Oh!!
I got over 9,000 steps yesterday! Thanks to an absent team mate who is trying to start
back up. I also will weigh in at tops again tomorrow nite and love have to be accountable
twice a week. It gives no room for cheating.

Today I am finishing up a few pieces for my bedroom. I had gotten me a lovely lime (not bright) green and red toile duvet cover and shams while in Fla. Has a bit of white.
But it was not working with red and not working with white. I decided to go buy some red
ticking fabric...yes!! it was a smash!! So, I will make the bedskirt from ticking, and pillow
covers from ticking, and put me some toppers at the window from the same. I think it will
bring it all together and push back the green part.

Heather, if you do not want your bangs to grow then cut them on the full moon. If you want
bangs to grow out then cut them when the moon is in its first quarter...new moon.
This is not weird witchy stuff, this we did as science fair projects for my girls when in high
school. I also have been doing it for years with my own hair. I also custom applied this to
my clients when I had my hair shop.

Ok, got a lot to do today and want to mail off a couple packages so better get.
Have a great day.

Caroline

Hello Friends -

Sorry for being MIA - I just can't seem to keep up with everything right now. I'm going to change my ticker - didn't want to do it, but I'm keeping it real folks - the vacations, halloween and thanksgiving have plumped me up a little bit!!! I'll lose it, but I'll probably lose it faster if I keep a reminder of where I'm at NOW instead of where I was a few months ago!!

Sharon - oh please don't do any exercise that will cause you pain - it is never supposed to hurt!! I've been doing 5# dumbells on my triceps this week - realized I can do them sitting or standing so there is no excuse! I want to firm up my arms.

Caroline - I wore the apron you gave me while I was cooking last Wed/Thursday. It reminded me of you and your pretty kitchen/house. Thank you! And YESSSS I would love some scrunchies!!! My hair has been driving me crazy lately - the bangs - I can't get them trimmed often enough to keep them looking good and it never fails when I do it myself I go a little overboard. So now I am growing them out again until they can be properly fixed!! haha. I'm not sure I have your personal e-mail so I'll send you a sparkmail with my "colors"! You're an angel.

Jan you too are an angel - I'll bet you were happier than your sister! Glad your pups are back to health and that you are on a good path again.

LA - how are you? Please come and fill us in when you have time.

Michelle - you too - I'm wondering if you are in the holiday spirit or if the pain is interfering with any kind of fun?

I've been going to our local church and really enjoying the people and music on Sunday - they have so many other activities but of course since I want to go I have all these work commitments that are getting in the way!! I'm hoping I can clear a path to peace because we all need that. I love the Christmas' gone by but these days it just all seems a little chaotic and off - because the media focuses SO MUCH on shopping and so little on peace and love in your heart.

Have a good day girls - and keep your chin up and your hands out of the cookie jar (maybe one hand, one cookie, if you can handle it!!)

Heather -

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. - Carl Jung

Good morning every one

I got through doing my exercise for the 1st time in 9 months, I really had hard time getting back to it, as my knees and my hip was bothering me a little, but push through the pain and today I feel like an 90 year old woman and had a horrible night sleeping between not sleeping and the pain in my knees. I really should go to the doctor, but don't want any more surgeries as I had 4 surgeries within 4 years and don't have any one to take care of me, my family won't and don't want them too and really don't want to take all this medications either because you take it for one problem and end up with another problems from medications. If I can find some thing that will give me some deep sleep as nothing really works for me, I went back to trying my machine last night hoping that it will help me, nothing. Will continue to use the rest of the week. As far as sleeping pills, they leave me feeling very groggy in the morning. Natural supplements doesn't work for me either, Been drinking chamomile tea before I go to bed. My body is really suffering from lack of sleep.
Today am going to work out with the dumb bells.

Tomorrow my son is suppose to take the road test in school, don't know if they will let him take the test as he doesn't have enough practice time for parallel parking. He needs min. of 2 hours and he only have 1 hour and 5 minutes. I offer to pick him up today after wrestling practice so he can practice parallel parking and he said no. I had to get the paper sign and notarize that he did complete 65 hours of practice. That is what is require in PA

Caroline thank you for offering the scrunches but my hair is super fine, it will not stay in my hair.

Jan you sure made your sister day by getting her that gift knowing that it means so much to them. I had a christmas water fountain in a park and it played all christmas songs and it had little people and dogs walking around the fountain and it was kind of old and it just stop working and I really liked it and like you I was able to get another one on Ebay. I was so happy.

emoticon to every one else and hope that you are all feeling a little bit better and doing ok.

Have a great day every one. Love you all. emoticon

Caroline: you are our new Holdiay goes right hero. I'm glad your finding your healthy shakes delicious and filling. Way to go. Watch you don't do too many days with less then 1200 cals or you'll begin to plateau. And Congrats on your loss. THATS emoticon !!!!
I just recently cut my hair short so no scrunches for me but they sound lovely. Thank you for offering, your so sweet.

Sharon: Sounds like your in the game too. Way to go girl. Yes if we can keep at it we will all be so proud and happy when our Girls weekend time comes. Keep that mental picture in front of you. I'm going to too! Love shopping online as well and EBay and Amazon are my go to's.….Last night I was texting with my sister and she sent me a picture of her reproduction tin toy circus. She was so sad it didn't work anymore. She sent me pictures of the bottom tags labeled Mr. Christmas Circus. While I was texting, I looked it up and in a few minutes found it on EBay! I told her I found it and she was texting me "Where? Where?"…a few minutes later I texted back "YOU can't by it"…She was texting "What? Why Not???…texting her back "Because I already bought it for YOU". She was thrilled beyond. I Love shopping on line, but knowing someone is truly going to love their gift...even better.

I feel so blessed to have a great family both mine and here with Nadine's. I'm even more blessed to have all of you here.

Heather: Happy Birthday to your little "Peanut". My how they Grow up.

LA, Michelle…I will get back to you later today, but I do hope your both feeling well and not too stressed out with medical issues.

I am personally taking a break from over exercising and I was so tempted when Eli texted me and asked if I want to workout this morning. I refrained and told him I was going to wait until I got results from my Dr. What I am doing is being much more diligent with my diet and not killing myself over it. Had 2 poached eggs with an english muffin. Getting my carbs in early. Later it's Salad with veggies and avocado. Tonight…just protein of Grilled Chicken.
Lots of water (though I did have a coffee this morning) just felt like I need it today. I'm not a big coffee drinker so some herbal tea will do me fine the rest of the week.

Take care everyone…and have a great day. Love you all.

Caroline you are doing great today and way to go on your loss.

Am going to do Leslie Sanone now before I won't get a chance to do it. Wanted to go back to sleep before and end up doing stuff on my computer, emailing the driver instructor and trying to do some christmas shopping on ebay for my son games. So I will do the work out now and then go back to sleep before I have to go to town later.

Have a great day every one.

Hey everyone
LA like your new picture...look so young!!
I drank another smoothie this morning for breakfast. I think I best cut it down.
It is only 8 oz of almond milk but afterwards I feel too full....you know the feeling...like
you overate and say I won't do that again feeling....
Will catch up on a few things here today and then run to post office.
If anyone else has long hair and uses a scrunchie...even just to pin it up for the tub...I
will send your colors to you. I just do not want to sit in front of the tv and not be productive.
I crocheted so many baby slippers for the girl next door I was ashamed to give them all
to her. Now I am just waiting for the next one to pass them on to.

DH and I just replaced our old soap dispenser in the kitchen with a new one and sure do
like it better. I have him one more Honey Do which I hope he gets to very soon...lol

Michele...missing you

Have a great day

Hey everyone
I got me a plan this morning and yes I stuck to it.
Abby, my clean eating gal, you would have been soooo proud of me.
I wanted a savory breakfast, but instead had a smoothie.
It was green powder, and beet powder, almond milk and banana.
Tossed in a little benefiber, chia seed, and raw gelatin. Yum. It stayed with me until
lunch...never hungry...and had sauerkraut with sausage for lunch...best probiotic money
can buy. That stayed with me until supper when I had a bowl of turkey veggie soup. OMG
was it delicious. That is all...700 calories.
My goal was 7000 steps which I did.
Marked off all my todo list except for watering my flowers that are wintering in the garage
and I will catch them tomorrow.

I went to TOPS and lost a pound over Thanksgiving...yay me!! That makes 2 pounds since
joining my old tops again.

Had a bad night when the pressure system changed and woke up at 1 with bad pressure
in my head. Moved to the den and a recliner to kinda sit up and sleep and slept like a
baby the rest of night.

I have my plan outlined for tomorrow. Hey, I am making me some more turkey soup with
the left over turkey. It takes me a while to chop all the veggies as I try to use fresh or frozen
and mostly fresh. Yall come on over and have a bowl with me.

LA hope you are doing better and all is well.

Love how you are talking these days, Sharon. Good girl.

Heather, been crocheting colorful scrunchies if you want some...name colors and
private message a mailing address.

God bless

Hi every one

Been busy all week end long with my son wrestling, did my walk Sat. in Walmart and got over 10,000 steps and yesterday walk around track about 4 times as it was a little too cold for me. Been back on track for 3 days now. Starting this week am hoping to get back into exercising again getting a head start on my new year resolution so it will be easier when the time comes. I am so ready to get to my goal. Right now my motivation is that we have the girls get away week end to look forward to in July.
It is back to school tomorrow as my son had a long Thanksgiving break, as school was close on Tues. and Wed. because of the snow, Thurs and Fri. was normal break for him and today it was close because of hunting season.

I am still not sleeping and feeling so tired, really hate feeling the way I do.

I have the book on hold on the i.f at the library and just order a book on ebay, die fat or get tough, and it is suppose to change the way your mind thinks. They ship it out today so it should be here the next few days.

Will be having grill chicken breast and salad with my fat burning dressing for dinner. Still need to work on emoticon

Jan don't be so hard on your self as we all have our weakness when it comes to sweets, or certain foods and the important thing is to let go, move on and forgive your self, pick your self right back up and that is what you are doing. Hope that your leg feels better and hope that you won't need surgery.

Caroline like your saying too, new day, new month and a new year. I am so ready this time. Hope that you will be able to reach your goal like you did once before, You can do it.

Michelle it won't be long now before you will start feeling better and getting your life back, Am praying hoping every thing goes well with your surgery and for your speedy recovery.

LeAnna hope and pray that every thing goes well for you too and hope that you will feel better soon.

Heather I am the same way when it comes to certain foods, you can't stop and that is why it is best to avoid those trigger foods. It is not that we don't have the will power but it is the sugars that is doing that to us, you have a little then you need more like a drug. We can over come this and be stronger than we are now. Hang in there girl.

Hope that every one have a great evening. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today being the start of my new and improved plan…ha. I drank my water, took the dogs for a walk, got back and did some reading on my diet plan to re-instil my resolve.I then headed to the kitchen and had one of my egg cups. It's so easy because I just bake them in muffin tins a dozen at a time and then nuke them for 15 seconds from the fridge. I don't have to think. I will be having a green protein shake for lunch and dinner will be a protein of chicken. Easy breezy. Of course I still have the hurdle of after dinner so I'm planning on having fresh brewed tea and nothing more. Finding something to do other than going to my classes will be a challenge but I have plenty of books to catch up on and that should do the trick.

Caroline I love the: New week, new month...I'll add New You!

Heather are you back on plan? Prep and leftovers are a thing of last week as we move into the new three lets try to enjoy eating well and eating right.

I'm going to buy some nice shrimp and make shrimp cocktail sauce from sugar free ketchup and fresh horseradish. It will be like having a special snack or meal that feels like the holiday itself. No wine of course but other than that it's all good.

I had to change my Dr. Apt. until Christmas Eve. Just want to enjoy the holidays without the added burden of an operation looming overhead. If I'm going to have to have surgery it wouldn't be until after christmas and so I'm just following my diet and refraining from over training my legs. Eli and I will start next week doing mostly upper body. It gives me a week to clear my body of toxins and fat while readying myself for moderate exercise.

I hope that Michelle and LA are getting the help they need to be well. Waiting anxiously and praying all is well.

Sharon: hope you've been able to get the rest you need and will continue this journey into the new year. I'm looking at the year as a learning year and I now know what to do…use all you learned in the same way.

I've been reading a new book "Thin for good" by Dr. Fred Pescatore M.D. It touches not just on his diet plan, but more on the psychology of dieting. It fully exposes and opens the mind on the eleven emotional levels of eating. Some of which we are all too aware of ...anger, sadness, frustration, fear, understanding, trepidation, envy, relief, joy, understanding, responsibility and reward. It not only explains these emotions in each chapter, there is a worksheet included to answer questions of how, who and the why's.
This was hard to read and go back to in my kindle, so I ordered the book. It's basically a low carb diet, but the much richer context is the emotional bond becomes the most important part of the book. I will read more this week (as I have plenty of time now) and keep you all informed on any juicy findings.

Have an amazing day….

Hello All -

Caroline - thanks for those words! We can and we will! xxx

Jan - what's a girl to do? Surrender. Lay down the burden and the pounds will go too. One day of bad eating won't ever do us in, it's when we start before and continue after right? Well that's the behavior that has to stop, not the holiday and not the enjoyment of that "day" or even some of the prep and leftovers... "SOME" is that funny word isn't it!!! I hope your leg feels better and if not baby it please.

LA - I'm praying for you...please keep us posted. We've got your back!!

Sharon (((HUGS))) for your quiet Thanksgiving. I am thankful that YOU are a part of this team!

Hi Michelle if you are reading this - hope you are ok. We're here if you need us.....

Hope everyone had an amazing and thankful feast this Thanksgiving.

LA: I am praying very hard for your on going health issues. Praying that your results help you heal. You! mean the world to us. We are all concerned and praying for your better health.
Take those 4lbs and run with it. Obvious that is a hard thing to do during the holidays and you did it! Our bodies sometimes need a little help and a cleanse always shows how much we actually need it. Now if we could only keep it clean and eat right. Well…that would take a miracle but miracles do happen…right?

Ok….I feel it's time for the confessional. One sick puppy here! And it's all from my own gluttony. Ugh! I meant well, but it didn't end well. For One thing we had the usual wonderful Thanksgiving and all it includes…but of course, I had wine to start, appetizers that can't be resisted and of course all the good "Thanksgving" foods.
As a double whammy we also celebrate Hanukkah, which happened to start on the night of Thanksgiving this year (go figure it hasn't happened in 1000yrs) So I prepared the brunch with all the goodies, egg cups, Lox, cream cheese and bagels, cheese biscuits, assorted yogurts and granolas. Plenty of fresh fruit was on hand but of course fresh baked coffee cakes including a cream cheese raspberry coffee cake was also on display. Then a toast with champagne and OJ... you get the idea. Needless to say there were leftovers and guess which ones I dove into? Right again! All the sweets. I didn't really stop until yesterday…Days of fasting set my brain into overdrive and I couldn't stop. emoticon Much like Heather, I'm reeling in my disgust and fat suit. lol, but I'm so thankful we can always come here, tell you about it, and get some much needed support.

I've already started setting my brain and body back into motion and fasted this morning. This afternoon I had Sashimi at the Japanese restaurant. Tonight it will be a green protein shake. Monday and Tuesday will begin my intermittent Fast. I am seriously going to go deep inside myself and make this wrong a right.

I am having trouble with my left leg, it's stiffening up,giving me a bit of trouble. My appt to see my sports medicine Dr. is coming up. Hopefully get an MRI and find out what's going on. Until then, I'm laying off the exuberant GIT classes until I see my Dr. and get her advise. Thanks for listening as always. Talk with everyone soon. emoticon

Hey everyone.
Whew!! Free at last! My little "mouth" has gone home. My ears are happy for a while, but
they will get lonesome again as they always do.

Just want to say a quick word. It will not take any of us longer than the next year to be where
we want to be weightwise. Let us do it.

LA I hope you are ok and nothing seriously wrong. Keep us posted on what is going on and
know we love you and praying.

Have a great weekend and love yourselves. A doctor once told me if I did not take care
of Caroline, no one else would. Give yourselves the love you give so much to others.

God bless.

Good morning every one

Hope that you all had a nice Thanksgiving.

Mine was ok, we did eat together as a family but that was it, no conversation, ate english muffin early in the day and didn't eat any thing else till the main meal, ate till I was comfortable full, not over stuff like I did in the past. Had a little bit of every thing, had my slice of apple pie later on and of course I did have 2 egg nog. I am happy to only see 1 lb gain today but did gain 3 lbs yesterday as I ate alot of carbs the day before. I am not upset about it as I know to get right back on track again and moving forward. We will be eating left overs for the next couple of days.

My son had wrestling practice this morning, we were just on our way, my son had a little trouble going up the hill on our road as it was snowing, as we are driving farther down, it was really coming down and I was thinking about the big hill by the school and felt we will never make it up or yet to come down the hill, I panic and made my son turn around and come home. I know my car and my son is just learning how to drive and he doesn't know what my car is capable of. I rather be safe than sorry. So he miss practice. He does have competion tomorrow will have to be out of the house by 6 - 6;15 and he will also have practice on Sun. too. Am planning on relaxing the rest of the day.

LeAnna hope and pray that every thing will be ok. Way to go on your loss this week. HUGS.

Have a great day and a great week end every one.

Hey Gang! Sorry I've been MIA. Wednesday I had a sort of emergency Colonoscopy and EDG. 4 biopsies. Waiting on results. Been terribly nauseated the past four days plus all the other wonderful symptoms of the past four weeks. Today we drove to my daughter-in-laws dads house in the country. It is beautiful here. It has been tradition to spend thanksgiving with Kit for the past four years. I am taking it easy at the hotel tonight. In bed already. Need to be at Kits early. My son looks great. It was so good to see him again. It has been since July. I love that "boy" (29) soooo much it hurts at times. I love my sweet friends here. I hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving. Enjoy the meaning of the holiday. I know I will. I have soooo much to be thankful for. You are all part of that. I did lose 4 pounds on my first week of IF. Maybe one pound of that was due to the prep for the procedure yesterday. But hey.... Play Along with me please LOL. Good night ladies. Love you all.

Heather I hear you and certain foods that are trigger foods that we have no control over, I have been there so many times, I am still struggling and it is getting a little bit better it is best to avoid those foods, sometimes it is easy said than done. It seems like most of us are really struggling and you are not alone. Today is a new day and make the best of it and the best way that you can. How ever long it will take us, we will reach our goal some day and hopefully by then we will be alot stronger than we are now. Don't give up and hang in there. emoticon

I woke up to 2 hour delay, did try to go back to sleep for an hour, then got up clean off 2 cars, shovel driveway and clean off ramp in back, it took me almost 2 hours to do that, want to get most of now before it got worse later on and every thing will freeze as it is cold out.Came back in to get my son up for school and saw on tv that school is close. With all the shoveling I did already got my 2000.00 steps and now am going back to sleep as I am really out of it.

Have a great day every one.

Maybe you haven't reached all your goals yet-but who has? And maybe you've made a few mistakes along the way-but who hasn't? You have every reason to feel proud of who you are. Notice your triumphs, big and small. There are so many.

Hello Peeps!

I need an intervention!!!! There I said it!! I swear between my DH and my DIL I think it's a conspiracy. He bought her a cheesecake that she left here after having 2 pieces. It's gone with the wind ladies what can I say - some things I have NO control with!!!

I like the intermittant fasting idea. Oh yeah, it's Monday and what did I do?? Crikey - not fast. Ok - so that leaves tomorrow and Wed. for fasting. I really didn't think too hard about this.

After this week, I am seriously going to be serious until I get back to my ticker weight or until Christmas - whichever comes first!!! This is the time of year for "events" and we have two big ones before the end of the year. My youngest son's college graduation is 12/14 and that will be a food event. And then my GF is having a Christmas party - and if my DH is off, we will go to that as well. Not looking too good for losing opportunities unless I really buckle down in between.

I'm feeling more lively, and upbeat so that usually helps keep me away from the fridge! I can't make it to the church exercise class tonight, and the Thursday class is cancelled this week, so I'll really be happy to get in there next week! And I hope to get moving on a lot of things. No time to be mopey - I bought a skirt in Cali that I wanted to wear for Christmas and I really think it will be toooooooo tight now!! Yikes! I really thought I was done with this yo-yo stuff and look at me; creeping up to 150 again.

Well one thing is for sure - this is the best place to be to get and give support - so Welcome Deb - you came at a GREAT time!!!

LA - if you can walk Wednesday morning let me know - that would be a great way for me to start my cook-a-thon!!

Heather -

Hi every one

Deb emoticon to our team. You will lose alot of weight on six weeks. I kept coming back and lost 106 lbs but it was too restrictive for me and end up going off plan trying different ones, I end up gaining some weight back. Now I am following food lover for the rest of my life as it is some thing I can do for my life style change. We all have to find some thing that we can be happy with and live with it for a life time. I hope that you will find something that works for you.

LeAnna hope that you had a relaxing week end of doing something for your self and being laid back.

Caroline glad that you made it back safe from your trip and every thing is going to be ok with your family. Glad that you found that paper from tops prove that you did it once and you can do it again. This will be the motivation you need to make it happen again.

Jan glad that you had a break from fast and enjoy your self at the moment but not to stray too far or you can't find your way back.

Heather how was your week end, hope that you weren't too busy with work that you couldn't do what you want to do.

Michele hope that you are still doing ok and it won't be long before you will have your surgery and will be feeling more like your self once again. You are doing great with your steps considering the pain that you are going through and you are doing alot better than I am with my steps.

Week end was busy for me, . I walk half of the amount than I normally would as my knees, my hip and my lower back was bothering me a little and didn't want to push too much, but did get over 12,000 steps on Sat. Yesterday went to the field hockey banquet and it was very nice, all the foods that different parents made was very good, I had a little bit of every thing and even had dessert. I did cut back on my calories as i knew that I was going to have these foods, happy to see that I didn't gain today.

Speaking of I.f. I have put a hold on the book at the library so when it comes in, I will read more about this and once I have enough information on it, think I will try it out.
We are suppose to get over 3" of snow tomorrow and here is where the fun begins, am not looking for ward to it.

Hope that you all have a great evening, just do the best that you can. emoticon

Welcome Deb! I hope you will join us. If nothing else you will learn so much from all here.
There are lots of great teams in Sparks People so just join as many as you feel good about and see where it leads. Some of us are on more than one team and it works as we can spread so much more knowledge. MT is a great program and if you follow it you WILL lose a significant amount of weight in a short time. The restrictions are great for some but tough on others. You have to test it out to know if it's right for you. Many of us are now doing some intermittent fasting. Which if you check out links talking about IF you will see there are many many different ways to do it. For me it's like having an eraser to wipe out a bad day or two. Using the MT guidelines with a few tweaks also helps me. But again…find out what works best for you. Good luck.

Yesterday was a bit of break from my fast. I fasted most of the day with juice and then went to Heidi's for dinner with the family. She immediately greeted me with a wonderful Red wine. uh oh…lol. But it was worth it. Had a bowl of steamed clams with tomatoes and spices. Yummy…so far so good. Another glass of delicious Red…Had only salad with it as others ate their steak or Chicken Divan (chicken in cream sauce). But here is where it takes a turn…Bread! Fresh baked and delicious bread sitting in front of me…I just couldn't help digging in a little.

This morning it's back to eating MT. I made egg cups last night. You just mix in any ingredients you like into egg whites or eggs. I used whole eggs since I exercise heavily, added crumpled soy breakfast patties (already cooked), pico de gallio (chopped onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and green chili peppers) along with low fat shredded cheese (not a lot). Mixed it up and Ladled the mixture into greased muffin tins. Baked at 350 for 30mins or until golden brown. Made a dozen and you can freeze them for a protein, fat, carb treat anytime. Each is about 60 cal's.

I will wait to weigh myself in a few days to avoid any depression seeking behaviors…if you know what I mean. All is good because I know that anytime I can erase the bad behaviors just by eating well the next day and then when I feel able I can fast and produce the results I need.

LA: I'm so jealous. As much as we love our dear ones it's AWESOME to have a day just to chill out and do nothing but focus on you. A facial, a nice warm bath, a good read, fasting or even enjoying protein drinks all day without feeling you have to do expected things like prepare regular meals even if we don't want it ourselves is a great blessing. Enjoy you day!

Caroline: Looks like prayers where answered and you can enjoy your thanksgiving so much more with your Son.

Sharon, Heather and Michelle I will get back later to chat with all of you. We have the dishwasher repair man coming a few minutes so it's back to work. lol
Bye for now.

hey everyone, I am back in Georgia...been down in Fla. as my niece had surgery
for what was thought to be cancer, but praises to God, she did not have the cancer.
All is well, but came home to the workers still laying our floors, and now the work of
moving all back in place...thinking of LA when she went through this.
Son coming week after thanksgiving and so it will just be us and Jakob and his mom.
Thinking lean and clean. I found an award from TOPS as I came in second in my division
and district for losing most.....18 lbs...in 2011. That is the years I became "Gammah" on
Sparks. I was a little shocked when I found that certificate yesterday among all my stuff
I was sorting through. It told me yes I can do it....I did do it....not long ago. It was real.
So, that really sparked me on. I checked my nutrition tracker for 2011 and looked at my
food menus and I will be back with it but breaking for some dressing with that turkey!!!

Love you all...........please forgive me but I will read all your posts later....taking my sister
shopping this morning.
God bless

Caroline

Hi Deb. We all had great success on MT in the past. Right now this small group of troopers swing between MT and other plans. Trying to find what works is a process. Hope you give our group a try. We aren't perfect, but we support each other in many ways!

Sharon, if you cut out the flour and sugar, including alcohol, you will probably have a LOT more energy. Try a week of those changes, along with IF and see how you feel after seven days. You can get motivated again. Dump the energy draining foods and drinks. Add in things that pep you up. Like lean proteins, fresh vegetables and fruits. Do you walking. Give it one week. emoticon

Heather, sorry we've missed our time walking and talking. Monday may work just great for me. Let me know about your schedule.

Yesterday from 4:30 till today at 4:30 is my I.F. Day. I had protein shake with supplements at 11:00am. 180 calories. I can have 320 more calories before 4:30. I really fill satisfied. Going to do some focused praying and quiet time between now and 4:30. With my husband gone, I am just taking it easy today. Still in my jammers at 12:39. Lol. It's great. The weather has turned frosty. How's everyone else faring?

I am still trying to do my best, not perfect but slowly getting there. This week end will be busy for me, tomorrow is first day of wrestling and that means getting up super early on Saturdays. Am going to try to get back to walking more starting tomorrow. Sun. we are going to the field hockey banquet. Am making califlower with cheese as this been in my family tradition to make at just about every Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. My sister start this, then my Mom and now I do this as well the rest of my family like all my nieces.

I am thinking of trying the I.f maybe one day a week, but I have no energy as it is now, completely drain and was wondering if I do the fast, will it make me more drain than I already am? What can I do to give me some energy?

Jan way to go on your loss, emoticon emoticon am glad to hear that you are going strong and doing well. Thanks for posting about the fast and the woman who lost 130 lb, she looks really amazing and it kind of getting me motivate once again.

LeAnna hope that you will have a good day on your fast today and enjoy your time at home.

Heather glad to hear that you had a good day, walking, riding your bike and doing the exercise class and getting 10,000 steps. emoticon

Have a great day and a great week end, I might not be here over the week end. emoticon

Hello Team -

I had a great day! Walked to the store in the AM; and then rode my bike to an exercise class tonight (not far at all) and got over 10,000 steps!! It was really good. And I made a Kale Salad today.

I am looking forward to the weekend. Jan you sound great - I'm so glad you're getting your spark back and that inspires the rest of us too! I made quinoa for the first time last week - cooked it in no-sodium chx broth and combined with roasted brussel sprouts and roasted acorn squash. Cut up some scallions in the quinoa/broth and it was really really good! I liked the sweet and savory taste. I never had an acorn squash and it was good!

LA I'm so sorry I missed you this morning!!!! I doubt I'll be able to sneak away at noon. :(

Hi everyone. Plans changed. I didn't go to the ranch. There were going to be 6 men and no women. I would rather stay home. Tomorrow is my fast day starting at 11 am till 11:00 am Saturday. I love the flexibility. Jan, I can't wait to read those links for some inspiration. I will check back later tonight. I still have granddaughter here.

Good Morning Everyone!!! It's a cool rainy day here yet I feel invigorated and ready to go.
It's I'm sure part of the cleansing process. I feel emoticon

LeeAnna: I'm so happy your finding success with your intermittent fasting. It takes time to wrap the brain around it for the first day or two but then you get such great results you just want to continue. emoticon It will be easy to do traveling as well. You just drink water or a small juice if you get hungry and eat the meal you most desire. If you back away for a day or two no worries you get right back at it the next meal or no meal.

I think a lot of us know are owning the idea of cleansing, fasting, semi-fasting, intermittent fasting. I'm adding a link for anyone who needs a little inspiration and help getting through a day or month of any kind of fasting cleanse. This blog comes from one of the Sparks people women who lost over 130lbs. She has been doing IF (intermittent fasting) something I was doing weekly before my friend Mark came to visit and it went to (as Heather put it..lol) to hell in a hand basket.

I'm not saying everyone should do this but I know everyone will get something out of it. She has lots of safe ideas and she looks amazing. She's been doing great and is a Sparks member. She is Idefygravity…A SP Hero! www.sparkpeople.com/mypage.asp?id=ID

if you want to check out her sparks page her link is above.

I'm going strong and doing well on my cleanse. 3 1/2 pounds down! three days! Next week will be the real test as this cleanse is not fasting. I do get grains (if I want them) like quinua, brown rice. No animal protein which is hard but not impossible. I made an awesome roasted garlic butternut squash soup and invited Heidi to join me for lunch. She loved it and I made some fresh looseleaf unsweetened Chai tea and then we had a no sugar added Mango smoothie, made with fresh mandarine oranges and Mango along with some super food additives (powdered form). Used some pretty china and felt like we were eating an amazing full course meal.
We were full and satisfied. The rest of the day I drank water, went to exercise class and then came home and made a fresh mixed baby greens salad with avocado, tomatoes, onions and just a hint of sheep feta with micro greens and slivered almonds. A tiny side bowl of my squash soup and tea. Yummmy….especially when your hungry. Makes food taste so much more amazing. Later I had a bowl of my frozen protein drink. (I make morning protein shakes and freeze some for later…less than 30cals). Today I feel refreshed, lighter and ready to take on the day!

Hope everyone has an amazing day. emoticon
