Hi everyone,
sad to say I am back here this year just about where I was last year this time. I have lost
and regained the same few pounds over and over. I hope to do it right this year.
I must say, though, I am proud to not be taking 11 pounds I regained last year on into this
year. I shook those things off me during the most trying time of the year...Thanksgiving and
Christmas. I ate both those meals, but then I stopped. Remember, they are just one day and
one meal....if we will.

One thing I have learned this past year with myself, and watching others, is what I have said
all along...Motivation is the key to success. With me a year ago it was my health, and when it got righted, then the motivation was gone. I watched others make it to the 100 lb. loss mark
(that was part of their motivation) and then turn around and start regaining. I watched some
get that "drop dead gorgeous" skinny body, and then turn around and gain it back.

So, I guess when we have been successful and reached a goal, then we must, absolutely must, find some strong motivation to keep us there. Each of us has to go within oneself and
figure that out.

I wish for everyone of us on this team that we can get where we want to be not only physically, but emotionally, and healthwise.
We can not do it alone, but we have been given great guidance if we will take it and hold on
to it.

It has been really hard for my body to let go of pounds the older I get. I have recently learned
it is not all about calories in and calories out. There are a few of us out here where that does not seem
to work. But for us it is about what we are eating.
Michael Thurmond is a great plan to be on to lose the weight, and really to live with the rest
of our lives. It is not strange at all.

God bless and have a great new year.
What you say we all take us a new picture today...or this week...and let that be our beginning
image....perhaps change it every time we feel we want to show off a change.

Hi everyone

Great to see everybody back here and we are together as a team.

Today is the first day that I haven't cheated in a while and am going to try to stick with it this time plus we have nothing in the house for me to cheat with. I didn't do my exercise for couple of days am just not with it in my frame of mind plus I am still sore from cleaning car off and shoveling the drive way. I don't want to stray too long with out working out as I will have harder time getting back with it. Hopefully I will be back with it the next couple of days.I don't know if I will be updating my ticker weight tomorrow or wait till next week. This is my second week of this simple diet that I am on and have been on it once before and kind of follow it wrong so I am trying it again and do it right this time and still don't know if it will work for me as I was cheating all last week. I am going to try my best this week to get through with out cheating and see how I do on this plan and want to give it a chance for it to work for me.

Caroline you are doing good and it seems that some of you are going to follow the wheat free plan. I will see how every one does on it and maybe I will try it one of these days.

Jan thank you for the information about the freeze spray for pain as I never heard of it and will check it out. By the way I check out last night the wheat connection and alot of it does make sense. Who would of thought that wheat could be the problem for some people or all and I would of thought that sugar will be the problem behind all this not wheat or maybe it is both. I don't know.

Michele we have all slacked off and we are ready to get back with it in the new year, I know that I am.

Heather even though you have gain weight we all have and we just have to pick our selves back up and move on and hopefully this year we will all reach our goals.

LeAnna hope that you are feeling better soon and good for you in getting back on plan by going wheat free. I have gain more than you have and it is my fault and my doing and just have to find a way to deal with stress, and always use foods for comfort, when I am upset, angry, hurt, down or depress. I order a book called emotional eater and hope that comes in soon and will help me some what. I just put a bunch of pants down to the basement today that doesn't fit me and will again some day soon.

Want to wish every one a very healthy happy new year and may this be our year to shine.

Come on team lets do this. love and hugs to you all.

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been MIA. Holiday company And caught the flu right after. Still not up to par but came to make new sticky for daily chat 2013. Good to see JAN back! Thank you Michelle, Sharon, and Caroline for holding down the fort for us over the holidays. I am back now and will be making every effort to stay on track back to goal reached in 2010. I have gained back almost 25 pounds. That is very sad to me. After reading everyone's posts and ESP Jan's on wheat gluten, I see the connection.

I have been wheat gluten free for almost 7 years! It is mixed into almost every processed food. I have stupidly eaten gluten for the past 5 months and I am SURE that is why my sugar cravings increased. It is a real killer for me. It makes my joints ache and gives me indigestion and bloating. There is no excuse except once I start, it is hard to stop. I am also allergic to peanuts and dairy. Corn is also an allergen for me. I have a niece who has really researched this terrible gluten disaster. She has ordered online several types of flours, to make bread, that are not genetically altered. I will look further into that.

Check out: http://www.glutenfreeveganmom.com/2012/10/
19/non-gmo-and-gmo-gluten-free-flour-l
ist/

I know how hard it is to break free of the gluten addiction and yet that is my plan as I restart MT on Friday. I will start gluten free again today, however. It is not easy to break free of the cravings but once it has passed, you are feeling wonderful and the craving is gone. Why oh why did I ever return to it?

Sharon you are in my heart and prayers for a clear mind and no regrets as you look at your future decision.

Hi Everyone,
Well Heather you can count me in. And I am sorry to all of you for not being here. This is the year I WILL make myself a priority and that means coming here and help keep this a strong team.

I really didn't know what to expect when I came back after such a long time but so glad everyone I love so much is here. I hope others join and we can really make this a place to lose and a place to gather new friends on our journey.

I took the three dogs out for a 3mile walk, then took my two to a local dog park to let them run around. Got home had a clean breakfast of egg white omelet with gluten free bread. I probably really didn't need the bread but since I was eating my breakfast at almost noon I had brunch and won't eat until dinner. Grilling blackened chicken on the grill with veggies. Today I did housecleaning all day and even managed to put the Christmas stuff away along with the outside lights.

I weighted myself this morning and lost only 2oz but that leaves me at 167.8
and it looks better than 168 so I'm taking it and running to the gym to workout. Nadine is napping and so are the dogs so it's a perfect time for me to get some exercise in and sweat.

Sorry you have so much snow Sharon. I was thinking...have you ever tried one of those freeze sprays? Nadine uses it on her shoulder and back every morning and she says it really makes a difference. Its inexpensive and works for a lot of aches and pains especially muscle aches. I buy it on amazon but you can buy similar products at the drug store.

I'll check in tomorrow...hope everyone is ready to restart their weight loss in a few days and kick some real butt around here. Here's to finishing what we started and starting were we left off.

Jan

Jan and Caroline emoticon on your loss, as least you got a head start before the new year, emoticon

Heather good to see you here too, enjoy your new year's and come back after your emoticon and hopefully the rest of the team will come back after the holidays. I think some of us or maybe all of us feel like we are all alone or abandon because there is no one here pretty much most of the time. We need this team together more than ever as some of us are really struggling trying to find our way back and I am one of them.

I spend 3 hours cleaning off my car and shoveling out the driveway and was doing it by my self and finally came in the house and woke my son up and told him to get out there and help me. He finally came out and help me. My husband couldn't do any thing as he felled the other day and heard something snap and don't know if he broke his arm or shoulder and ask him if he wants me to take him to the ER and he said no. I don't know how he is doing as I can't get up the other house because of snow and if I call on the phone he doesn't answer the phone. When my son bring his supper up to him and see how he is doing. For what he tells me that he is still in pain and is getting a little bit better. Now I am hurting all over my back and my arms and at least the snow was a little bit lighter today as the other day it was very heavy.

:Have a great day every one.

Jan, wow!! that 5 pounds came off in a hurry. Good for you.
Heather, great to see you back, we will let you wait a few days into Jan. but after
that, we will come after you...LOL.

Sharon, hope dh is doing better and that you get to go do your New Year celebration with
your friend.
I see we have some new people, and I want to say this is one of the best plans to get the
weight down.

I am doing MT but have to eliminate certain other foods, and so far so good. Saw another
pound gone today, so I have lost three this week so far. That is alot for me.

Got to get ready for church, have a blessed day.

p.s. I lost my first goal of 7 lbs.
my next was 5..so 3 of that is gone and down 10 from before Thanksgiving.
I did my walk it out yesterday and trying to up the time. I did get over 9000 steps
yesterday. I want to do that today, but my mind tells me it may not happen.

Hello Friends -

I was pondering staying away until January 5, but really want you all to know I've been thinking of you and hoping there will be a team to come back to :)

I haven't weighed myself since well before Christmas, I know I am up but I'm not ready to tackle it yet......my oldest son is finally getting promoted to Major next Friday - so after cleaning up Christmas goodies, enjoying New Years eve with some special cheese an champagne and then a nice dinner out on the 4th, I am going to get serious because we have a wedding at the beginning of Feb. (DH's son) and I'd like to look good! That will give me a month to undo and maybe even drop another 5 - a good start to the new year! I've indulged in everything I like so "HOPEFULLY" my brain will remember that when I get serious!

I haven't read all the posts but I'm happy to see Caroline, Michelle and Jan here! Sharon I'm glad you are looking at the bright side. I really believe this next year is going to be a good one - for YOU too :)

We cooked a 27 pound turkey for Christmas OH MY. DH came home and said it was the smallest one he could find!!! hahahahaha.

Well I may start undecorating tonight. Have a good weekend all - I'll be posting again regularly soon.
emoticon

Sharon: Every little bit of support helps even if we don't hit the mark always. The fact that you have been able to see what you have accomplished instead of how far you have to go is wonderful and I'm so proud of you. I have 40lbs which is actually 10lbs more than last year.
It sucks but just putting it out there makes me feel better knowing I have everyones support.
I don't know how I let it go again but we can't look back, only forward.

I started last week at 173 (ugh) and stepped on the scale this morning at 168. That's my first 5 lbs since Christmas. This morning I started with my oatmeal and plan on a salad for lunch.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Jan

Caroline hope that you had a good day on your plan today.

Jan Thank you for all those things that you said. I know that I will have things to think about my life and my future and feel that I will be alot happier on my own as I won't have to put up with this from my family. I get no respect or appreciation from either of them. It is a shame that it has to come down to this. I am just taking one day at a time and get through that one day.
When I get the chance will check out more about the wheat connection.

I was kind of looking forward to going down my best friend's this week end to ring in the new year together, but with all the snow we had and is suppose to get more tomorrow and the day I was coming home also I am not feeling that well, have headache, sore throat, coughing and sneezing and wouldn't want to get every one else sick too so now we are not getting together.

Have a great evening every one. If I don't get a chance to get back here before the year is over I would like to wish every one a very Happy Healthy New Year and lets all get back on track again together as a team. I am grateful that I wouldn't have to lose 127 lbs only about 50 lbs to lose to get to my goal.

Maybe you haven't reached all your goals yet-but who has? And maybe you've made a few mistakes along the way-but who hasn't? You have every reason to feel proud of who you are. Notice your triumphs, big and small. There are so many.

Sorry your having troubles with your tooth and hopefully you can save it. congrats too on making your 7 lb goal and more. Way to go. That's pretty tough during the holidays. So even more kudos to you!

Sharon: My dear friend, I'm sorry your struggling but this is about you and ONLY you. When it comes to your health and ultimate happiness we are the ones who have to wake up in the morning and decide what it will be and stop letting others around us take it away before we even set foot out of bed.

I do know some of what your going through. We wonder how many more years will it take us to accept things we can not change in our personal lives. It requires sacrifice to stay strong, because others around us have determined they are not going to change. I know this because when I finally let go and stopped trying to make things right, I could really see what was worth saving and what was not. Although I'm single again, I'm now happier because of it and free to do what I want to do. Happier than I've ever been? NO...but happier than struggling with total unhappiness and feeling like a failure. I never questioned his failure to me...I guess that's the way women are hardwired to take full responsibility for everything that happens in our lives.

I know you have a young Son so it's even harder, but every morning when you wake ... remember how much you have in that precious gift. Happiness is not something we can expect in life, but it is something we can decide for ourselves everyday. I'm trying harder to remind myself: is it going to be a happy day or a miserable one. I choose being happy...still not easy, but worth getting there.

I hope you read more on the Wheat connection because if nothing else it has elevated my mood and I still have no relentless cravings. That doesn't change the fact that I've got a lot of weight to lose, so I'm on board with the MT or wheat free version for the NEW YEAR!

Thank you for the welcoming...I hope to be a better teammate this year. There's hope!

Love you all and have a great day. Jan

Got to go back to the endodontist...let him finish that root canal...boo!!
then get it capped if it does not shatter.
Got Jakob here tonight, and I think he and I will play dominoes.

Have a good evening...I have been pop today. Had some nice mustard greens
from dh's one row...LOL. Very good. Love those things. My little children would stand
it line at our utility sink years ago for the stalk. I would strip the leaves from the vein and
they were huge...and those little kids love those raw stalks. I will never forget that.

Yay! Down 2 more pounds. This is from the lowest I was a couple weeks ago. So, I finally
went over my 7 lb. goal...late, but made it, and now I can restart.....Now, (got to be proud)
this is two that I did not gain back and lose again. It is two extra pounds....I will fix my ticker
to start keeping up.
I will say this, I do not care for Almond milk in my coffee each morning. I need real milk.
They say what you crave so much is a good sign it is something your body is intolerant to.
I went through yesterday giving up...or actually doing without...the 7 intolerant foods.
One day and I feel detoxed and skinny.
Send happy thoughts my way as I go either get a tooth pulled or else hope I can talk him
into filling it.

I feel so alone here..................Where the heck are all of you?????

I did ok today...water poured out of me. I was perfectly on plan...I did not cheat.
Except this is that Virgin diet I did today...I must get my cholesterol down. Please
pardon me while I do this, but it not much off from MT at all. Infact, may be MT
with certain body types.

I did my wii walk it out for 30 min. and I found my fitbit did not give me the steps
that wii did...nevertheless I did over 8000....would have been well over 10000 if
they had been in agreement.

Ok, I found that I can track daily cholesterol right there on my nutrition page...great!!

My blood pressure has dropped from the 200's down to 131/79 that is a whole lot better.
I will have to really get more active to get that cholesterol down. No simple test for that...
go back to doctor. Tomorrow it is to determine what to do about the root canal I had done.
Either plasticize it (my word) by putting one of those plastic filling in, or pull it. At first they
wanted to cap it, but afraid it may shatter. Yawl pray for me tomorrow because I get hyper
nervous in the dentist chair...no, I really do...I start shaking, etc.

Hoping you all have a great day...it is little nasty outside here.

Jan Thank you for the information about the wheat and it is very interesting and am wondering if that is my problem too, as I have been dealing with headaches, achy joints and just not sleeping and having no energy, being down and depress, cravings. Think little by little will try to add these to my life and keep record of how different foods affect me and it I know that is the problem for me then I know to avoid those foods.

I want to wish every one a very Merry Christmas.

Jan welcome back and great to see you there, as I miss you.

Come the new year I am ready to get back on board, need to lose the weight that I have gained.Need to get my life back. I have been struggling the last couple of weeks, just finally start slowly getting back on track couple of days ago. I am still dealing with alot of personal stuff with my family and with alot of stress, trying not to let stress get the best of me but it is so hard.. I order a book emotional eater book and a steam waver on Christmas eve and that is my Christmas present to me as I don't get gifts from my family only from friends.

Weather permitting my son and I will be going down to my best friend's house for 5 days this week end and hopefully to ring in the new year together.

May you all have a wonderful blessed day with your family and love ones. Love and hugs to you all.

Caroline: I ordered JJ Virgin's book for my kindle. She's only one of the
books I've received, but her's has all the information I needed to really get my butt in gear and try out gluten/wheat free lifestyle. Hope your turkey comes out beautifully....we have wild turkeys running around our lawns and they aren't pretty. I think they look much nicer after their cooked...my bad?

Today Nadine and I went for lunch. She had Sushi and I had Sashimi without rice. I looked at the bottle of soy sauce I was about to pour and there in the first ingredients was water and the next WHEAT...who knew. We put it back and asked for lemon slices.

I'll have to get to the health food store or order online a gluten free soy sauce and take it with us. Sheeesh! This isn't easy but well worth the trouble. Another 1/2 pound gone without a craving or feeling deprived of anything. For those of you who are struggling with crazy cravings this might be your solution.
This morning was gluten free rice cereal but tomorrow I'll make a large batch of gluten free oatmeal and freeze some to have when in a hurry. I've got my Thurman book out to read though I'm spoiled from using my Kindle...love it.

Michelle I really like it here but it is a lot cooler and right now it's raining like crazy. Having not seen rain for so long it's extreme for us desert rats. We are all happy and getting adjusted. Lots of long walks with endless paths and streams. The "girls" have seen there first squirrels and now go crazy when they see them. We also have wild turkey's which I try to avoid...no need for a street scene in the neighbor hood. As soon as I see them on someones lawn I distract the tribe and cross the street before they spot them. Tricky sometimes.

My girlfriend Heidi (Nadine's mom) is always a morning call away and we plan hikes and get togethers. Her young son (Justin 10 yrs old) is my little man. He has no idea I'm an old lady...lol. Always ready to test my wit and skills on his Wii dance, or sports games. Very cute and Heidi's husband Martin told me he couldn't believe I hung in there with him. I love a good challenge, even if it's with a 10yr old.

I'm off to the gym after a 2wk layoff...Everyone have a great day...and talk later

Jan

Hi Jan! Glad to see you back and thanks for the interesting info from Dr Oz. Certainly something to consider. So you must be settled in by now. How are you liking Northern Ca?

Caroline, turkey cooking....yum! I'm sure it will be delicious.

I want to wish everyone a happy holiday. I am looking forward to the new year to get back on plan. Hugs all.....

Hi Abby...Jan!!

Yes, my chiropractor told me about 5 years ago that wheat was also inflammatory.
I have a book on hold at the library that talks about just what you said. Gluten is something
to omit from the diet. Her name is J.J. Virgin...she was on Dr. Oz as well.
She also mentions 6 other things that some of us do not need to eat...one is peanuts, and I
can tell you right now that omitting peanuts was a miracle for me. No more inflammation in
my tail bones and buttocks that had me hurting so very much.

Fixing to go put the turkey in the oven. I hope he turns out ok as we have company coming.
Have a blessed day.

Thank you, Jan, for that information...great stuff!!

Hi Everyone,

Happy Holidays to all of you. I have missed you and thought of all of you soooo many times.

I just wanted to tell you something I thought important. Take a look at the Dr. Oz episode "is wheat making you fat?" (I know...I know...I rolled my eyes too...lol) In fact I was concerned but not impressed until I looked at products that I've been eating. Healthy wheat products I thought. This Dr. Davis said that the wheat of today is bio-geneticaly altered and is NOT the tall wheat of our youth. It is as addictive as heroin? Huh? He went on to say that the only thing this new wheat makes us addicted too is carbs and sweets. It's in virtually every processed product we eat or drink and has created a vicious cycle for so many. It's even in chewing gum to keep it from sticking. Hmmmm. Sounds like Me!

Well I thought about it and went shopping looking at any of the products I love, like grape nuts, yes almost all wheat, processed wheat and bleached wheat (think white bread). Every frozen dinner that I like started with wheat and some even ended in wheat. Obviously any cake cookie or other innocent looking morsel had plenty of it. Oh well I thought...a few weeks later I watched the episode again. A light went off...Michael F.N. THURMAN! He was right all along and I don't think even he knew the real truth or I just missed that chapter!

Sh@#%&T! WT? Rice never made sense to me because it's the same calories in our pasta, and cereals and everything else I was eating. BUT! Rice doesn't make you crave. R U kidding me?

I started 4 days ago and in three I lost 5 lbs. Last night we had company, three glasses of wine, shrimp with cocktail sauce I made myself, wheat free crackers, cheese and flourless chocolate cake. I wasn't craving, I didn't stuff myself but more important I didn't gain weight.
It's a christmas F.N. Miracle. Sorry for my FN but I can't tell you how startled I am over this.
Placebo? Maybe...but wouldn't I be hungry like usual, wouldn't I be trying to keep myself out of the kitchen while something I shouldn't be eating called me until I couldn't control the sweet then salty cracker attack. Did you know Ice cream has wheat as an emulsifier. Again...are you kidding me?

You girls might think...there goes Jan again but I'm telling you. Last week I was ready to just give up...throw in the towel. Today I have high hopes and a new attitude. Most of the foods I'm eating now are rice and whole foods just like Thurman's book tells us too. BUT...I'm not giving up my glass of wine, or an occasional chocolate (as long as it's pure coco and wheat free) If a product say's gluten free that means it isn't made with wheat. If a product says USDA certified organic gluten free it means it's made in a facility that has non of this wheat even close to mix up into the product.

Nadine is now going even farther down on her insulin and has lost a pound. Something the Drs. told her she would never do. Ha! That's because they don't know?

Check the episode out yourselves and see if any of this sounds like you? I had to really watch it twice and then go shopping for fresh foods and certified gluten free tapioca bread. (not all that ,but toasted with fresh turkey and avocado a little mustard it was a complete lunch and has helped me lose. The only reason we're choosing gluten free is because we don't want to look at every package just to see it contains this wheat. Just remember there is no such thing as the tall wheats of yesterday so even the whole wheat you buy IS the genetic wheat. Hope this helps everyone whether you believe it or not. It's just new information for the overweight nation.
Maybe that's why everyone is turning to gluten free...of course you know their going to find a way to mess that up!

If anyone needs a reason to stick to their Michael Thurman diet...maybe this is it.

I for one am going to stick with it and stay in touch here so that I can help and hopefully finally lose my weight that I've been trying to for too many failed years now.

Love you all. Jan

well, I went to post a new weight, as Dr. weighed me less today...about 1/2 lb. and I messed it
all up and cannot get it straight, so I am starting over.

Dr. said BP was over 200 and put me on 2 meds. BOO!
I will put fitbit back on, do 10,000 steps a day, I will NO SALT my diet, and MT will be my
thought throughout the day.

Hoping you all are doing well. God bless

Not bad, not bad. I stayed the same...can you believe it. Two weeks since I was there and
some days on plan and some not. Those not had me eating some cake, and a piece of pie
one time. No loss, no gain. Actually that kinda encourages me.

Dr. appointment tomorrow...fasting blood...boo! no coffee in the morning first thing.
Have a good evening

oohhh!! Lost it yesterday...out and about with a "2 for 1" coupon...yikes!

Back at it today...no problem. Need to get that Zelda suit made today so I can get it
in the mail. Got to make one of those card table covers for my grandsons out in Calif....you know
the kind that hangs down all over with a skirt and you put zoo animals, etc. all around it
and they play in it. Yeah, they will have tons of fun with that.

Otherwise, just found a turkey in the bottom of my freezer and need to take it out today
to thaw for Sunday dinner. Inviting 5 other people to eat with us. My grandson will do his
books of the New Testament to "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" Sunday at church when the
kids do a mini program. I taught that to him
several weeks ago, but will make him rehearse it when I get him on Friday early. My DH
hunted around for a tune that would work...not many will...Ha, but he did it.
I might do a little video of him (ok, this little boy is my heart) and put on Sparks.

Will weigh in tonight at TOPS, the last until next year. No, I do not look for a loss...maybe
a gain of a pound or two...we will see. I had too much drop two weeks ago, so may have
been the scales.

God bless and have a great day.

Sharon my clothes are super tight also. We will make it! My family starts arriving tomorrow. They leave Sunday. It's almost over friends Then the popping begins. Hugs to all. Caroline I hope your tooth gets better soon. Lynn you are doing great!

I made it thru today, but I am starving!! My stomach is growling, and I guess I will go
to bed and try to sleep to get away from it.
Why am I telling you all this? Because, just in case someone thinks it might be a breeze
to come off a whole month of Christmas carbs. But it can be done. Tomorrow is my third
day, and it should be easier. I did 1200 cals. of MT today. I just did not space it all out
like I should have....remember to do that.

ok, going to bed early.

I made it thru yesterday. It was not easy. Today, it will be MT totally POP.
I have decided to track all my food whether I stay on plan or not so I can see where I
missed it if I gain).

Got my to-do list going, and today I will declutter the dinette table. I came home from
decorating the church last week and dumped all the ribbons, candles, etc. and now it
is time to get it tidy. I did not have time to deal with it, and each little thing must be put
in its own place.

I was asked by my son yesterday if I would make a Zelda outfit for this 5 year old boy.
My son reminded me I had made one for the child's dad 25 years ago. Well, I do NOT
remember that. I will try my best, but sure wish I had taken a picture back then.

I still am chewing on one side, and will not get my tooth looked at again until next week after
Christmas. Just want to say, please do not bite down on hard things (almonds for one)
and do not go from hot to cold to hot as it may cause the tooth to crack.

Have a great day. Hugs to you all.
I see we have a new member....Welcome to you!!

LA, thank you for sharing that about de-carbing.
We had dinner at church yesterday, and lots of comfort foods there. Yes, ate my share
but not the desserts...only a cinnamon bun, homemade, so the dear sister would not have
to take them all back home...sure!
I decarbed today and will until Thursday. We have one more Christmas dinner, and I will
eat, but all around that will be good as I can.

It was not easy today. I realized that my being hungry was just me craving carbs.
This is how I knew...I did not want protein, veggies, or fruits. Well, if I was truly hungry
I would have been happy for them.

I am trying to condition myself to get into the habit because come the day after Christmas
I will focus on the new year. I slacked on my walking, and even lazy about putting fitbit on.I
did put it on today, and went upstairs and did 10 min. to wii Walk it Out. Better than nothing
but really just to get me going with a habit again.

Maybe by the time we all are on board I will be back in the groove.

Oh, I had just finished refurbishing our church sign...it is 40 years old and had oxidized
and needed new decals...had it looking good. Finished Saturday morning, and before 8
that night it was totally smashed as a car hit it at hight speed. Flipped the car over on its head.
no one dead but girl in the passenger side that hit the sign was rushed to hospital.
we will get a new sign...praises to God.

it certainly is hard to stay on track. I've been way over on carbs since I was sick last week. nothing really tasted good and everything hurt my stomach. now stomach is back to normal. planning to make and take appetizers on plan to my in laws. salad and olives for my mom's Christmas eve. I think I will be OK with the lack of sweets.

how is everyone coping with holidays?

Caroline hope that you are feeling better. Was suppose to have a root canal and end up going the cheapest way to go about this was having my tooth pull out. So I don't know what it is like to have root canal and heard from different people that it is really painful.

LeAnna I am in the same boat as you with the sugar and carbs, once you have some you want more and more. The other day I ate the whole bag of chocolate from Halloween in the middle of night as I was very stress out that night thanks to my husband. The next day every thing was hurting me I am slowly cutting back little by little. My clothes are getting very tight on me and don't like the way I feel and look.I will be back here in the new year ready to start again and gets this weight off that I have gained the past several weeks and before I do any more damage control.Yes I am still struggling.

Hope that every one else is doing better than we are. What ever you are going through, please remember that you are not alone as we are in this together and we will get through this together. Have a great day every one. HUGS to you all.

Caroline, I am sorry about the root canal That really hurts! Yes, I have a feeling around January 15 everyone will be popping around here like popcorn.

This is my third day without any sugar. This morning was the absolute hardest so far. They always have donuts and coffee at church. My granddaughter brought a donut and sat right next to me in church. She had one bite left and was just playing around with it. I said, in a weak moment, can I have a bite? and she literally stuffed it in her mouth as fast as she could! LOL I was never so glad! So no sweets today. I tell you, carbs/sugars are like cocaine and need to be flushed down the toilet. Really, what good value do they have? The processed sugary carbs, I mean? Can we list ANY REDEEMING QUALITIES of them? I can't think of one. So WHY or WHY are they so beckoning to our flesh. Yuck. I want to be free of it all. Well, keep in touch everyone even if you aren't poppin' yet!

Sharon, hang in there. You will be joining us and losing again soon.

Still here, but not up to visiting...had a root canal which knocked the spirit out of me.
Wishing you all peace and no stress. Be kind to yourselves and go easy on the goodies.
We will all meet back here in a couple weeks...I have a feeling...lol.
Love you all, and even tho I do not address you, I often think of each one of you individually.

LeeAnna, I too am going through the big M with no hormones. I also took some over the counter stuff, but it didn't really help. I also wake up many many times through the night , am tired, have more bags under my eyes, and have those horrible night sweats. When it first started I thought my head was going to explode......never did though. I wish I could give you some advice, but just hang in there, it will get better.

Sharon, so glad you are going to walk today. It's so hard to restart after a few days off , but you can do it. And hopefully it will make you feel better.

Got to run, our tankless water heater stopped working, so we have to find someone to fix it.
Have a great day everyone

LeAnna sorry that you are struggling with menopause, I know it is really awful to go through this. I have been dealing with this for 6 years and choose not to take the hormones. We just have to do the best that we can. A few years back I was taking refemmin over the counter that you can buy in stores or drug store and also black colaush and it did seem to help a little.

Am going to do my walk to Lelsie Sanone, am only going to do 2 miles as I really don't have any energy and it been 2 days since I did any exercises.

Have a great day every one.

Please team, hang in there. We will all be back to major weight loss starting in January. I am so sorry for Sharon and all you are battling right now. I wish I could give you a big hug emoticon life is not always roses and the thorns can really prick from time to time. Humans are all flawed and broken. I wish we were all perfect and had perfect unconditional unselfish love for others. But we tend to be self focused brats. I am so sorry you are hurting. Turn to God in your sorrows and I pray you get comfort from his love.

I am really struggling since the doctor took me off my hormones. Night sweats, sleepless nights, weight gain, cravings for sugar and carbs. I am so sick of this cycle. I am truly counting the days until Jan 2 to start popping all the way. I am hoping to have my blood work done by then and get some real help to finally beat these cravings. Lack of sleep has been the worst. I woke up 9-15 times the past 10 days. Yesterday was a good night with only 5 wake ups with 26 minutes awake. I have bags under my eyes LOL. Oh well. My daughter would call these "First World Problems". Keeping my perspective right.

Hugs all around. Lets keep posting no matter what.

Sharon, I am so sorry that you are under so much stress. It's that much harder to diet. You need to take care of you. When your issues are resolved, I have a feeling the weight will fall off.

Caroline, congrats on getting so close to your goal....and during the holidays!

Lynn, glad you had a nice time in Vegas. I love that city, there is so much to do and see, and eat!

Where is the rest of our team??????
Hugs all......

Michelle

Caroline you are doing great and you are 1 lb away from your set goal. Am so proud of you. Even though you haven't been sticking with it food wise but you are doing more exercise and that is important.

Lynn Glad to see that you had a good time in Vegas and do alot of walking. Hope that you will feel better soon

Heather you ask me what change from then to now, I didn't have all this stress that I am dealing with now thanks to my family and that is a big difference.

I have not been doing too good, am under alot of stress and been very tense, not sleeping and come the new year I will be going through a lot of changes and don't know if it will be for the better or worse as far as my family goes. I will be seeing a lawyer the next couple of weeks to find out what my rights are. I haven't been doing too good food wise, been eating a lot of junk food. Gain quite bit of weight I am embarrass to say this and I am not perfect or a role model as turning to food for comfort and just don't know of any other way to deal with stress and am trying but it is so hard.. Just want to let you know where I am coming from . Am staring a new plan tomorrow call naturally slim and poweful and hoping that this will help me as I feel that I am lacking something or nutrients.and give me the natural l way to boost t my serotonin with out drugs. Am doing this for 2 weeks as there is a lot of food that I don't like.so I will try to do the best that I can and see how I feel. then I will be back on 2 other plans that I have been on before and 1 that I have never been on before then on to food lover. for the rest of my life as this will be the way that I can live and be happy with as this is not a diet but a life style changes. I will still need to lost 40- 46 lbs to get to my goal and still need to lose about 25 lbs to get me back to my weight that I was in Feb. when I did have lost. 106 lb and hopefully I will reach my goal this time and hoping that I will stay there. I will not be changing my ticker weight till I get there and don't know if fit bit will be picking up weight change or not.

I hope that every one will reach your goal in the coming new year and that this year will be the year that we will shine. Come on team we can do this together lets reach our goals.

Have a great evening every one.

Maybe you haven't reached all your goals yet-but who has? And maybe you've made a few mistakes along the way-but who hasn't? You have every reason to feel proud of who you are. Notice your triumphs, big and small. There are so many.

hello everyone, I'm back from Vegas. that was interesting! I don't gamble but it was fun to look at the hotel designs and malls, wow. so much architechture there. the best thing was the day away from the city, walking around Red Rock Canyon, Nevada and then went to Hoover Dam.

my friend isn't going to do 6wbm with me. so, bummer. right now I've been sick for a couple days and can't eat much. down 5 pounds but I'm sure that will gain back when I eat normally. lol. too bad!

well hello!!
Been awhile since I posted here much, but have had lots on my plate....actually plates.
My grandson has been with fever and his mother also. I had him off to himself in a bedroom
today so his mom could work. He was so good about it...not once asked to get out of bed.

I have not been able to stick with a plan lately...but I will. I have managed to come within
1 lb. of my Thanksgiving goal of 7...better late than never I guess.

Have a great week end and stay close to those you love.

Caroline

LA, I am so happy that your MRI came out clear. What a relief! As Sharon said, you will love your fitbit. For some strange reason, I find it very motivating. I wear it all the time and am constantly checking it.

Sharon, I'm glad to hear that you are gaining some control over your binging.

I had a good Thanksgiving.. We spent a few days in Northern Cali. it was so nice to get away. But of course, ate way to much. I didn't gain as much as I expected because we did a lot of walking.

To those I have not addressed personally, sorry. I've just not felt very chatty lately, but I do read everyone's posts.
Got to run, well, walk. Have a great Sat

LeAnna am so happy to hear that the MRI came out clear and that is really great news. Praise God. Am happy too for you in getting a fitbit, you are going to love it and it does make you want to move more. Enjoy it.

I am still on my plan but not 100% pop and am still cheating a little, am not binging like I was and am cutting back little by little and am happy to be losing some of the weight that I have gained on my binge. Each day gets a little bit better. Got up at 4:15 this morning, my son had a wrestling competion but got as far as the main highway and made a left turn the car was sliding a little so I back the car back down the road, turn around and came home as I wasn't going to take that chance. Got 3 books in salvation army on Thurs. am reading them now. The first book I am reading is thin for life, the second book I have is naturally slim and powerful and the third book I got was 17 day diet and it is almost the same as South Beach and will be trying it out in the new year then staying on food lover and that will be the plan I can stay on for life time and will happy with it. In the thin for life they said you can't just change your lifestyle all at once. And if you want to lose weight, you have to find what's best for you. You have to do it your way.

Am going back to sleep now. Have a great day and a great week end every one. Hugs to you all.

emoticon Friends! Super tired tonight and I still have a couple hours up. We are having our annual women's luncheon tomorrow and I was setting up a table tonight. I have a small 15 min talk to give tomorrow and haven't prepared yet! Good thing God gave me the gift of gab LOL. I got a clear MRI report over the phone. Can I say THANK YOU GOD AND THANK YOU FRIENDS FOR PRAYING!!! Have to go in Monday morning to get the full report but I am HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!!! emoticon

I have been popping until last night and tonight's meal and tomorrow lunch. After that, back ON. I am hopeful our team will regroup and make goals happen. I read everyone's posts and I truly hope we will put out the effort it will take.

Ashley, I just made chili with rice from 96% lean beef and portabella mushrooms and ; Spaghetti made with ground white turkey, sundried tomatoes and sweet small red and orange bell peppers and Rice elbow pasta; and yummy stew made with very lean beef, potatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, and carrots If you are type A or B and can't have beef yet, just use the ground white turkey for everything. I am a C and beef works fine for me. You have to get creative to not get bored! I bake apples with cinnamon for desserts.

Well good nite all. Have to finish before bed!

PS. I got a fitbit ultra today as a gift and just registered it. Looking forward to tracking sleep zzzzzz

Morning team!

It's great to see all the posting here - I'm glad there are sparks on this team again!!

Sharon when you were doing so well before, were there cheat foods in your house? Just wondering....I know you've got a lot to work through every day and it's hard when you don't have the support of your family. I hope we can be a better team at supporting you in your journey - all is NOT lost (funny to say on a diet thread eh).

Let's pop ourselves silly today!

LA - praying that you get the news from your doc soon - waiting is NOT fun.

Michelle - hows life on your side of the USA??

Heather -
