Ed, I'm hearing your joy in "klunking." That's what I call it when the 50# weight moves down a slot. It makes a klunk sound. And then a slight bang from you jumping up and down. I'm 7# from klunking to the 150 slot, and let me tell you - I'm DYING for that moment!!

Cara- I found the plan off the TV show Celebrity fit club, but I found the information when I googled Fat Smash Diet, it is different for sure but you can eat all you want of any fruit and vegetable, except for avacodo and white potaotes during the first 9 days and then it adds in other foods, you can have 2 cups skim milk everyday and sf yogurt too, plus 2 cups of brown rice daily and 4 egg whites plus a whole cup of oatmeal a day , then during the second phase you add in chicken and fish..check it out, but you are doing AWSOME on the Micheal Thurman plan, you go girl!!

Hugs and Prayers, frgiven

7.5 pounds in one week!!! Way to go!! You rocked that week, I just know this time is your time to shineemoticon

I regret to say that I am not following the Micheal Thurman plan right now, I have switched to the Fat Smash plan off of celebrity fit club ...I really had trouble with the no milk thing and it pushed me into looking into other options...BUT I want to continue to check in on you and encourage all the new friends I have made here...the plans both work if you work them and I cannot wait to see our results from them, have a great day and know I am rooting for you (always) (hug)

Hey guys sorry that I haven't been able to read up on everyone elses posts and add a few of my own. I am busy with this new job and it's been difficult to eat whole foods every 2 hours, I have adjusted my plan and have light string cheese, apples, or a breakfast bar here and there so no major weight loss for me. I was hoping to meet my 2/1/08 goal of 230 but as of right now I am 231, but I am close and will not be discouraged. Tammy & BF awesome results you guys, keep up the hard work and keep down the pounds ;) PS I am glad to see that we have an icon! God bless

Don't' ya just love this program!!! I feel like finally I am on a program that I can stay on for long term!! I am eating all the time and adding new things and still continue to lose. We ate out yesterday and there wasn't really anything that I could order so I ordered the turkey/bacon/swiss and and them hold the swiss. I removed all the bread but 1/2 slice and used this as my carb. It came with lettuce, tomato and onion so I cut it all up and it was delicious. Last night I had 2 margaritas from the sparkrecipe site and I am still down 1/2 pound!! WooHOO!! I have 2.5#'s before I meet the 20# mark and hope to hit that this week!! The money I spent on 6WBM is best money I have ever spent!!! Thanks for being a part of it with me!!

Hey guys glad to hear everyone is doing good. I fell off the wagon sort of speak. But moving along I came home and seasoned my food to cook tomorrow in the AM for the next couple of days so that I can be right back to a healthier way of eating. This is really odd, normally I feel real guilty, but this time it is different. The food (pizza) I ate gave me such bad heartburn, I have GERD and throughout this diet I haven't had any bouts of it, and today I feel completely sick, sick trumps guilt any day in my book. It's been over 5 hours since I had it and still... with regards to the Mayo, I don't generally use it if anything I have found lite sandwich spread (can be used with tuna and it tastes good and has lower cal and fat than even the light mayo you can find), if not I try Miracle Whip (again same thing, lower fat and cal). Hope this helps, I am usually a simple person in the kitchen not too experimental because I can literally eat the same thing for weeks at a time and not be bothered by it. Sorry that I can't really help on that subject. Best of luck to you guys!

Where do you find rice milk, is it in the refridgerator section? Anyone have a good substitute for mayo? I tried one of the recipes for mayo off of the provida site and didn't really like it. Becky

dear this is my day, I like the Thurman diet. I am also a Type A. Did well on it last fall then like was stressful and fell of the wagon. You guys have made me want to try again and I really like this way. I was doing Curves when Thurman before but can no longer because of pinched nerve in back. I can not do the quick results as its too hard on me, but follow to the letter the regular for type A. I boil eggs, and peel for breakfast, keep cooked oatmeal in frig and heat up for breakfast. I buy tuna in the packs, put on scale and eat cold, chicken tenders hit the pan and ready so quick. My fruit is almost all the frozen as it is always rewady. Perhaps a little Splenda. I use rice milk when milk is needed. Bread has been out of my picture for so long I no longer want it. Caryol

I have 9 more pounds to take off and then I will be down to where I was this summer before going off my plan. Then I will feel like I can actually start counting pounds!! The weekend is coming and I am hoping to stay strong so I can continue to watch the scale go down!!! emoticon

I feel the same way! I don't have the cravings that I use to have. I think since we're always eating we don't get hungry enough to crave things. Although, my husband popped popcorn yesterday and I did crave that so I got myself some oriental rice crackers and munched on those as my snack.

Your doing great! emoticon

Ok today will be my 9th day on this plan, total lost 17.2 lbs, although 10.2 lbs can be contributed to 6 WBM. I am so thrilled also I have noticed that my appetite has really been reduced. I sit down have a couple of bites and I am good, however I do have to literally be eating every 2 hours, so I break down my meals even further so that I am always eating and never hungry.

Wow I really love this plan. I know it is strict, but even with small little hangups I still manage to lose weight. Granted I don't have a slice of bread with every meal, but like yesterday for lunch I wanted fruit (which was in heavy syrup... I know it's bad but I have the worse cravings during this time) and I also wanted a slice of bread and I said you know what I will eat this now and then for the rest of the day I will follow my plan and I did. I still managed to lose weight from 237 down to 236.4 lbs. I don't think I am going back to WW anytime soon.

Congrats on the weight loss I anticipated that by today I would be down to 15 lbs and I was when I weighed myself this morning, which is great since I had taken the liberty of updating the success pic from the 10 to 15 lbs weight loss one ;) I am even more so excited because "I am retaining some weight for the next week". So hopefully by next week the scale will show even more of a weight loss. Well in Orlando it's in the mid 70's but it is so gloomy and dark outside. But I get you, weather in the single digits is highly undesireable so I will take gloomy over that (sorry). Again let's keep each other in check!

I see your from Orlando, what is the weather today? You can motivate me by letting me know the temp because our HIGH today is "9" with blowing snow and tomorrow is "-1"!! Absolutely Frigid!!

The good news is, I am down .5#s making my total weight loss at 15#s!! I can't wait to get this next 15#s off!!

Well you let me know if you need motivation. I am looked at as the walking fortune cookie! I tend to be everyone elses' cheerleader except my own. I am changing that as well this year, even if it means buying an outfit with pom poms for me. LOL

My biggest problem that I have had in the past is weekends and eating out. I have made sure to stay on plan during those time. I order as close to plan as possible and ask for the sauce on the side. The thing is, I don't really feel like I am missing out. I just hope I can continue because I get really motivated at first and then lose it the closer spring gets here. Hopefully this site will help keep me motivated!! I just love watching the #'s come off though!!

This is sooooo true you do have to take it one day at a time. I am not sure if everyone else is using the nutrition food log here but it's great. It really helps to show just how much less cholesterol, fat, calories, etc we are having. Everyone keep up the good work. I am doing a daily weigh in and from yesterday to this morning I went from 238.2 down to 237.6 lbs. God bless!

AWESOME!!! One day at a time turns into many!!!

I was kinda having some cravings tonight so I mixed up an iced coffee and that helped. I added just a splash of milk to make it creamy!

Howdy!! My plan has consisted of:

BK- 2oz Sausage and fruit or veg; or protein shake
Sk- 2oz chicken or turkey slices and fruit;
Lunch- 2-4 oz shrimp, chicken or pork, potato and steamed veg's;
Sk: Rice crackers or 2oz chicken slices and homemade vegie juice
DR: Lean meat, potato or rice pasta, fruit or vegie

So far so good!! I have been really mixing it up with herbs to try and find recipes I like. I made a good sorbet the other day that I found on the splenda website. If you haven't ever checked out their website, do so, they have good recipes that you can use as your fruit.

Glad your all doing well!!!

Tammy hi there and thanks for the warm welcome, since I am an A type this has been my meal plan for the past 3 days, today is my fourth and I am following the same plan today:
BK - 2 servings egg whites with onions; SK - 2 oz tuna fish, 1/2 cup grapefruit; LH - 2oz chicken breast, 1/2 cup potato, 1 cup broccoli; SK- 2oz. chicken breast, 1/4 grapefruit; DR - 2 oz tuna fish, 2 cups broccoli; SK - 2 oz chicken breast, 1 cup broccoli

It's kinda strict I know and yesterday I couldn't help it and had bread and weighed myself this morning (have OCD with my scale) and realized that I went down from 239 - 238.2 still a weight loss so I am content with it.
People we can get to the point that we want to be and we don't need to do unhealthy plans like so many others are doing. Think of how rewarding it will be when you can say that you did this the all natural way, no pills, no surgery! God bless

Welcome all newcomers. I cant wait until Sunday to weight in again. I have been doing ok not eating carbs. (I love bread and pasta!!!) My typical day is this.... Breakfast either hard boiled egg or instant oatmeal or cottage cheese with 1/2 pear. Lunch is chicken breast, or small piece of steak or tuna fish along with small serving of sweet potato and always a spinach salad with spray on dressing. dinner is a piece of meat, with very small baked potato with one pat of butter and large serving of steamed veggies. Snacks are usually string cheese, sugar free jello, or maybe a 100 calorie snack pack. So far so good!!!! Keep it up (or should I say down).

Tammy

Becky wow great to hear that someone else is having such an amazing success with this program and I am glad to know that you are feeling my pain when it comes to bread. The odd thing is that I can go days and days and not crave it and then boom it hits me. Well thank you for welcoming me to the group and I look forward to supporting you as you support me on my journey.

Welcome TODAYISMYDAY1!! Nice to have you here! We need more 6wbm people posting and motivating here! I also started on 1/1/08. I am down 13#'s. I am a type B. I find myself wanting some bread or snacks and have found that the oriental rice crackers satisfy me. I have 1/2 cup and they work great as a snack. I really miss my salt!! emoticon

But I love the way my clothes are so loose!!

Stay Strong! Becky

Hey everyone I am new to this team but I wanted to introduce myself. As many others I started on 1/1/08 this journey to a healthier me. I started first on WW and was ok with it the first week went from 252 down to 244.6 which was great but then the next week I lost nothing. So on Sunday the 13th was my first day on the 6 week makeover and I went from 244.6 down to 239 by this morning. I am pretty excited although I must say being a type A is pretty rough and I could not help myself and had to have a couple of slices of bread. I hope that tomorrow will be a better day. Best of luck to you guys!

Oohh! Type A sounds like the most restrictive. My biggest problem is cooking things that I actually enjoy! I miss my salt, cheeses and sauces! Basically all the dairy and condiments! But I am trying to think health when I sit down to eat, and having an upcoming winter vacation is also good motivation! emoticon

I am a type A. Lots of protein and very little carbs for me. My husband only has a few pounds more to lose. But he is a great motivator for me.

This was my first week working the Michael Thuman diet. I lost 10.2 pounds. My husband lost 13 pounds. I know its mostly "water weight", but it sure looks nice on paper.

Keep up the great work. Whether its one pound or 20.....every pounds counts!!!!

Good luck next week and we will check in again next Sunday.

It is Sunday and I am down 1#. I ate out at Applebees yesterday and followed the dining out guide from Michael Thurmond. We went to a show and I brought oriental rice crackers for a snack instead of eating popcorn. I have made a goal to stay strong over the weekend and it is paying off!!
