MOISSANITEDREAM -- well and everyone -- I want to share a sad story.
I thought of you, MOISSANITEDREAM, because I was reading your lj about cooking mama game? I think that was you... anyway. Someone's lj from this group! ee! Sorry if I mixed up whose! In any case! We went to WalMart to pick up games for the Wii, and I saw that one and I was thinking how people said it was good... but I got lured by this Tamagotchi game. It was like Tamagotchi presedential elections and you had to play minigames to increase your popularity to get elected. Sounds fun right? Well...
This game is apparently intended for like. 5 year olds. I felt SO STUPID. The WORST part is -- they won't take it back because we opened it. But it didn't seem like it was really a kids game necessarily! I mean, it looked CUTE that's for sure, but lots of Wii cames are all cutesy. Anyway. I was so bummed. We should have gotten Cooking Mama!
Anyway -- FYI -- we paid $50.00 for it, if anyone wants it they can buy it for a cheaper price because it's been opened but literally we opened it, played it for 2 minutes, and were like "wahhh/???{" and stopped and tried to return it. :( It looks like an ADORABLE game for younger kids and maybe even to play with your kids, we didn't play like any of the minigames so it might even be more fun... but yeah. Not for us.
But I was like -- I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN COOKING MAMA!!!

Sophia -- that's cool. :D I've seen lots of cute and healthy bentos with allll kinds of food in there. :D
Oh and remember everyone! To join the flickr group it's invite, so read the instructions on the Flickr thread so I can invite you if you want to post pictures.
To view pictures, you don't have to be a member of the group. I posted pictures of my bento today, so go check it out. :D
I'm Sophia. I'm a college student transferring out of Pratt Institute. I live in New York City. I was born and raised here. I'm not a fan of Japanese food.. lol technically. But I like the concept of Bentobox and the portion sizes.

Hi everyone. My name is Amanda. I love Japanese cooking and as a grad student, I have to pack my lunch/dinner a lot, so I love bento boxes! I'm excited about seeing everyone's recipes!

*waves* Z. invited me as well. I think this so great! I've been making bentos off and on for awhile. My dad used to make bento-ish lunchboxes for me when I was kid. (think fish shaped tuna fish sandwiches, so cute). My bento box was recently stolen (the case looked like a purse) so I've been using a plastic container. I'm thecollegechef on the LJ's bento community. look forward to packing some healthy bentos with y'all.

YAY! :) I'm so excited to have all of you new members! :D I hope we are able to really learn from each other and make cute and healthy meals! Yeah, it does take time... the thing that seems to be common with some members of the livejournal bento community is basically using things they have already made and decorating them and making them cute when actually assembling the bento. So maybe that will help us when we are pressed for time!
Also -- I sent an email to some of you last night, but the flickr group is invite only, so if you will sparkmail me your email addresses if you would like to participate in the flickr group, I will invite you. Otherwise, viewing the group is open to all.
For those of you who don't have an actual bento box, I hear that there are some great lock and lock varieties that work quite well for bento-ing as well as some ziploc things and whatnot. :D
I got the invitation to join this team and it looks soooo yummy!!!
I'd really like to learn how to make these bento boxes! Besides yummy-looking, the seem very healthy!

Hey everyone my name is Lisa. Thanks for inviting me to this team ZIRCADIA. I have made some bentos in the past but because of the time it takes to prepare bentos, I make them occasionally. I have some pictures of my bentos somewhere on my computer (I'll put them up when I have the time. I look forward to sharing different bento ideas with you guys.

I'M ON THERE!! I think the one I'm in is called bentolunch.... my name on livejournal is we_like_you.
Hi, my name's Amanda and I was just invited here by ZIRCADIA over there. I love bento! I suck at it, but I love it nonetheless. :)
Bento does seem like a great idea for portion control, and will help to focus on making food that's too cute to pig out on. xD
I'm a member of LiveJournal and I thought I was a member of a cute bento community, but now I can't find it... Hmm...

YAY! :) I kinda got into bentos a while back and then just recently I remembered about it and I realized -- this WILL be really great for Sparks and limiting portion sizes and all that good stuff that I KNEW bentos were good for, so I decided to start making them again.
I hope to get really into it and start making them cuter, etc. Right now I'm settling for just packing a lunch in my bento box. Do you use livejournal, by any chance? There's a great bento group on there that I watch sometimes. But I was going to start a group on here if there wasn't one already and yay there is! :D
I hope we can make the group active, even if it's just me and you!
Hi my name's kirsty and i have recently (month or so) become interested in Bento lunches, traditionally a japanese packed lunch. the difference between a packed lunch and a Bento lunch is the appearance. bento lunches should be aesthetically pleasing and generally make use of colour or themes.
I love knowing what other people have for lunch mostly because i'm nosey so i though we could use this group for ideas, themes, recipes and bento supplies.
I also though (if we attract some members) that we could set up a SparkPeople bento group on Flickr and post lunch piccies.
